The koala child paused to think about that possibility. "Hmm... Then we ask mommeh if birdie eggies be okays." The toddler nodded. Nikiana would know, she knew everything. Well, as far as Ala was concerned. Ala continued on down, halting near the ground to wait for Lucia.

Ala nodded, dashing across the playground to where the two adults sat. She clambered up into Nikiana's lap. "Mommeh, mommeh. We finds birdie eggies. Mommeh birdie not theres. Birdie eggies be okays? Mommeh birdie come backs?" The series of statements and questions were spit out rapidly, almost too fast for Nikiana to catch.

"Bird eggs?" She asked her adopted daughter, making sure she was understanding the girl correctly.

Ala nodded. "Yup, yup."

"Oh, well, I'm sure they'll be fine. The momma bird probably was scared by you two climbing around. But she'll come back."

Ala glanced over as Lucia's momma told her the same that that Niki had said. So the bird eggs would be okay. That was good. Now that the matter had been settled, it was time to turn to another pressing matter.

"Mommeh. Hungry..."

"You're hungry?" Niki asked. When Ala nodded, the woman sighed. "Well, I didn't bring anything with me for you to eat, so I suppose we'll have to go back home and have lunch..."

She turned to Pi and Lucia. "It was nice to meet you both." She scooted Ala off her lap so she could stand and gather the various items she'd brought. Ala climbed up and clung to her mother's back.

Niki stopped as another child climbed onto her back. Did she have a sign on that said 'Climb me'? Whatever, she waited for the girls to finish before going on home.

Ala grinned. "A'course!" She touched Lucia's finger with her own. "Alwaes."

Niki grinned as Ala waved at Lucia and the woman started off towards her home, bags hanging from her arms and a child clinging to her back.
