The door opened to the room. Rivera had borrowed a space rift and implanted it to the wall of her dorm room, creating an unplottable space and expanding her small dorm to the size of a large house. Of course, no one else could really get into it from the outside. She just attatched a gateway to an alternate dimension that she regulated herself, with Kai of course. Rivera entered the room now, her arms full of streamers and balloons, which she struggled to keep with her. Static electricity was too weak for her to control. She could pop the balloons on accident if she wasn't careful. Once inside, she just let everything loose. The balloons's strings were tied to the streamers, and they carried the paper festoons onto the ceiling, now raised by 50% to 15 feet.
Rivera dusted her hands off and smiled, then turned out of the door and called down the hall. "Kai... you need some help with the cake?" Her raven black hair rippled over her shoulders. "I already have the present for Makie-san... " She looked back into the corner of the room. Everything was washed in a blue that magically did seem to be like sky, with wisps of the clouds floating about near the top and over the ceiling. She had studied hard and formed the illusion herself. Every room had the same type of movement around the walls, whether it be in the arctic or with a tropical look. It didn't affect the temperature in the least.
Kai came into the room with a silver cart and an enormous 20 by 30 by 10 inch birthday cake... enough to last more than the number of guests for three days. Half of it was chocolate cake, with bits of white chocolate chips and creamy chocolate filling. The other half was plain vanilla with white cream filling. The entire cake was covered with a swirl of chocolate and vanilla icing, decorated with a mass both milk and white chocolate roses, silver beads, red roses of food colored white chocolate and was surrounded by real red roses, coated in wax to preserve their color and beauty... and to keep pests out.
"This is a heavy cake, your highness." Kai was marveling at the creation. "Will they eat it all?" He checked to make sure the plates and utensils were still in place on the lower shelf of the cart, and that the ice spell Rivera placed on the icecream hasn't worn off. There were oreo cookies along with the icecream. He found this all very curious.
"Oh, I suppose they will... young men eat a lot... I think..." She whispered and opened the door to the dimensional kitchen. "We'll keep it there... And please, don't call me 'your highness'."
"I'm sorry your hi-- I mean, uh... Isekri..." Kai said this very quickly, "I'm just not used to addressing you as a... commoner..." He said the word commoner sheepishly, as if afraid something would happen to him if he even suggested it.
Rivera just smiled at him and shook her head. "Let's get everything set up... the guests will be here in a few minutes. I'm ordering Pizza... Usagihana-chan?"
A small robot in the form of an egg shaped bunny, or a bunny shaped egg, floated in from the living room. "All the video games and things are set... I rented the best ones, and DDR of course!"
"Great..." Rivera was sorting out the dining table and the appetizers. There were bowls filled with chips and candy, and coolers with soda in them enough to last several days. "You did clear the main dining hall and push the tables to the side... right? I haven't touched that room in a long time..."
"Yep! I've got all the good music too... So there'll be space for the dance floor. The tables and chairs are set up too. And you've got the illusion magic on, right?" Usagihana bobbed up and down. She was a very strange robot Rivera fixed a litte while back. Originally made by a student for his girlfriend, both of them died and left Usagihana in the world of the living. Rivera was unable to find out the story behind the robot.
"Wonderful..." Rivera stretched. "I think we're all done..." She looked at Kai. "I will be introducing you to the rest of them... remember, when you're talking to them... I am just a commoner..."
Kai nodded reluctantly and smiled. "Your will is strong... you really are the Gyrfalcon Princess, Isekri."
"Oh one more thing!"
"Yes?"
"Don't call me Isekri... my name is Rivera. They don't know who I really am... I want it to stay that way." Rivera whispered, her head lowering slightly. Her past was a morbid one. She didn't like to discuss it.
Kai walked over to her and gave her a light hug. "To hear is to obey, Rivera-chan." Then he left to help set up a few lights. Rivera smiled and promptly zapped Usagihana with a small shock of electricity. The robot was doing ditzy circles in the air and sighing quite obviously.
"Not a word, or I'll decircuit you bit by bit... " Although her voice was a threat, her eyes were obviously curious. She went back into the living room, checking to see if there's enough space for everything.
