He knew when the other male stopped it wasn't for good. No, Rochir was not stupid. He also wasn't up for the other wolf's bullshit, but again he wasn't stupid and was quite prepared for a jackass move akin to what happened next. Sighing he took off after Helaku. "Ye won't run far b'fore 'e falls off, jackass!" he snapped loudly, making sure the other wolf heard him. The same was true for the wolf on his back too. The next decision Rochir made was extremely hard, he felt his chest tighten and constantly fought back worry. He stopped, letting the old wolf down softly. He wouldn't risk leaving him, and he wouldn't risk injuring him. The stupid yellow git would realize his mistake when Fute fell and was injured more, Rochir cringed at the thought. He sat, externally showing calmness. Finally he rolled over to lick his wounds before tending to the other wolf who had suffered far worse than he.

"Twin wounds." he hoffed, hoping he wouldn't be at this standstill for long.

It hadn't occured to the male that something like a mishap as Rochir called out to him would happen, and all at once the idea weighed heavily on his mind. He shrugged it off and kept running though, attempting to balance the male on his back. All the while the spotted one was bobbing and becoming more and more loose against his fur by the second, slipping to certain catastrophe. Helaku wasn't about to let that happen. He reached around quickly and grabbed hold of the male by the scruff, yanking him back up just in time but stumbling himself in the process, sending them both hurling into a tree side. The gamma took a blow to the side, but thankfully enough Fute landed slightly less roughly in front of him. He'd broken his fall; good. But yikes, was that gonna leave a bruise! Heh. Whadya know. The butthead was right. An irritated huff exited forth as he took another attempt at awaking the male from his slumber. "Wake up Fute." He batted a paw softly at the male's face, nuzzlng his nose into his fur shortly afterwards. One might get mixed signals from it, but really he was just trying to help a friend. He didn't swing that way.

Fute's blood-curdling howls ringed as he plumetted to his sure-fire death and destruction. Hell would no doubt lay below. Some fiery monster that of which he'd never seen before. "NOOOOOOO!" His howl was broken as a loud thunder shook from the heavens, the rocks surrounding him suddenly crumbling piece by piece, as if a gigantic earthquake had stormed its way into reality. "Wake up Fute." The roaring voice escalated through the area like the mountains themselves were trying to speak to him.

Suddenly his eyes slowly opened, shock and surprise all over his face at the sight of Helaku. For a moment he growled, but quickly calmed down. "What happened? Where am I?" All he could remember, unfortunately, was one minute attacking Hel for some unknown reason, then being tossed back like a sack of garbage, falling under the male before passing out. His dream had not been of a pleasant nature, but there was little he could make of it, and so decided it not something to dwell on. "I...why...." His words were cut short.

"Quiet." Helaku said calmly. He was happy the other had finally awoken. Maybe this bit of a hurdle of a moment had been enough to actually disturb his rather uncomfortable resting session that was obviously enough deep. Either way, that was that. He only hoped that now the nuisance from farther back wouldn't bring his a** around trying to start trouble again. If he did, however, the yellow male was prepared to continue it.

"If 'e 'urts 'im.. Ah'll rip 'is face off." he spoke to the unconcious wolf. He had checked if the elder had been breathin, and to his delight he was still alive. He prodded him gently with a forepaw, testing to see if the grey pelt had even eaten lately. Skin and bones. Irately he cut his tail back and forth, pounding the dust with it. He sighed, the red male had never thought his love life would turn out this complicated. He never thouht he could worry this much over someone. Lifting his eyes to look towards the treetops, he noticed the sunlight filtering through, sparkling like salmonskin under water. He sighed again, a sad wistful feeling creeping into his heart and brain.

Shrugging his shoulders he stood to shake out his fur. "Ech.. auld one." he addressed Mingan semi-loudly. ".. Ye should wake yirself up now.. " trying. "Ah don't want ye t'be dyin... not today, Ah dunnae even know 'ow old ye are." Though that would be impolite to ask, maybe. He felt something special for the old coot. Even though he was weird and.. paranoid, Rochir thought well of him. "Y'know.. Ah'm on t'ye. Ye're not stupid or anythin.. Ah bet yir as smart as me or Fute." he looked down at the other wolf, inspecting him carefully. The poor b*****d was riddled with scars, turning bluish white in his old age, though with his scars in some places you could hardly say he had fur. These new wounds would only add to it. But there was a certain mystical charm about it. If the old wolf didn't have such a light-hearted persona he would be very intimidating.

"Ah would 'ave liked to know ye in yir younger years..." he spoke again.

Fute couldn't do much to ask anything further. He took a moment to catch his breath and try to remember what happened at the same time. It all came back to him bit by bit, the dastardly evil dream that had scattered his mind slowly fading in the process. He struggled to get up, then looked back and saw Rochir over by Mingan. They looked a ways off, and there was no way that they were in the same oasis anymore. What exactly had happened after he was knocked out? He shook his head and bounded off towards the maned male. "Rochir, are you alright?!" he called out to him along the way. It was obvious that the two of them had gotten hurt, and Mingan even moreso. He for a moment pondered how to handle the situation, coming to a halt alongside Rochir and nuzzling his muzzle into the red one's fur, allowing his tongue to give a gentle lick to him as well. "I swear. Why can't we all just get along?" He sighed. If neither of them was prepared to get along with one another, then he'd want nothing to do with either of them. Even though it would break his heart. He loved Rochir far beyond all reason. It was unexplainable how much he cared for him. What would happen if he ever lost him, he didn't know.... And then there was the case of the elder one...

The old dog wasn't moving. Rochir could do nothing but give a drawling speech over him and hope he was listening somewhere in there. He opened his maw to speak again, hearin once when he was a pup so long again that the best thing to do with the unconcious was talk to them.. let them know which way to come. He didn't get his first syllable out before Fute was upon him. He looked at the spotted male, forlorn look plastered over the red wolf's features. "Ah'm fine." he grunted, the movement of his sides with his breath and words were beginning to hurt as torn flesh and muscles moved uncomfortably over hard ribs. "Ah dunnae know about this one though.. " he spoke sadly, bowing his head toward the old wolf. Looking back up at Fute he let hot tears spill over his muzzle, both in fear of the grey dog's life and Fute's wellbeing. He didn't care if the yellow git saw him cry, he didn't care about him at all.

"Ah dunnae know..." he spoke again.

It didn't seem like he would ever just hit the ground. His pain began slowly to get more and more intense, and soon he couldn't breathe. Falling endlessly, unable to breathe or move. After what seemed like 4 lifetimes something changed. In life his body began to shiver violently as in his dream he plummeted into the same lake he had trotted across earlier without so much as a care in the world. His body broke with the thick ice as he was sucked down into the icy dark depths of the frozen lake. A yelp exploded from his maw in life, as his body continued to shake.

He wasn't one to turn away from a battle, or admit defeat, for that matter. But clearly there was little more he could do here. They'd already rattled his nerves enough anyways. None of them were worth his time, and his own long lost....ex friend....had just deserted him. Well that was the last straw. That's the last time HE'D ever lend a hand to an ingrate. He snorted in displeasure at the matter, then turned and picked himself up, dusting himself off and checking his flesh wounds carefully. Nothing too terrible, but it'd put a damper on his speed for a while. "I take it you'll all be fine!" His call was probably the last thing they heard before he vanished from sight, scampering off into the distance with long strides. He'd had enough dealings with pathetic mortals and imbeciles for one day.

Meanwhile Fute didn't feel any noticeable flesh wounds too much, but had indeed gotten pretty much crushed when Helaku fell atop of him, this being ever so apparent by the way his fur was both knotted and mangled, not a single strand in its place anymore. His own safety and vital health was the least of his thoughts though, his worried nature being more concerned of Rochir's dealings. He'd obviously carried more of the damage than the spotted male, and Mingan seemingly carried even MORE damage than even ROCHIR had! What a terribly circumstance this truly was.

"Fine? Hardly." He nearly smothered the male in nuzzles, licking at the horridly torn flesh openings from his body, then doing the same for Mingan, not half realizing it. Try as he may to conceal the truth, it was more than a little obvious he had been death-defyingly panicked that Rochir would've been killed by Helaku by now. And reality had set in that he wouldn't have been able to save him. Why would Rochir love someone like that? He sighed and nudged the green one some more, hoping to awaken him from a solid slumber unlike no other.

Mingan's body calmed at an odd touch, felt semi-conciously. He yelped again, hoping anyone could help him. He lay at the bottom of the river, crushed and unable to breathe. His eyes opened wide as he tried to claw his way back up, his limbs were freezing over fast.

The maned male ignored the shout from the irritant. He had gone quickly, and for that Rochir was glad. He had a bad temper, and when wolves like Helaku were about it was hard to hold his tongue and anger. "Ah said ah'm FINE." he almost roared, instantly taken aback by his own reaction, and visibly shaken. If possible he would have gone starch white, stairing down at Fute, a frightened look on his face.

"Ah'm sorry..." he said barely above a whisper. "Ah dinnae mean t' snap.." maintaining the same calm, frightened whisper. He screwed his eyes shut, balling himself up as much as possible while still sitting.

The spotted male on many occasions would've been both taken aback and shocked at Rochir's reaction, but in this case, he was only slightly surprised, the feeling even then soon dispersing from him. After all, whatever had happened while he'd been knocked out surely must've been the cause of the way he was acting right this second. He could see that his love was both battered and beaten, worn out and tired. A pure mess. And just after all those bad occurances on his end too! How could he have let things get so bad in condition like this! He wasn't anymore fit to be a mate to Rochir than a speck of dirt. Rochir deserved so much more... "It's okay Rochir..." he soothed, edging forward and sitting alongside him, wrapping his tail around the red one's body, allowing his head to collide with his, entertwining the two of them. "No worries. I understand. Calm down...." There was little he could do, he knew. But he hoped that his calm nature and loving heart would be enough cure him. Perhaps he could use a rest for a while. Fute would be more than glad to offer his fur as a pillow.

"Yir sure?" he remained quiet. "Ah'm very worried about 'im." The red male's body shuddered, his chest heaved in a sigh. "Ah was very worried fir ye too..." He was sure Fute already knew this, but felt as though it needed to be said. He let himself calm at Fute's words, allowing them to wash over him and make him feel at least a little better.

"But ah do worry.. ah worry a lot!" he whined, nuzzling the spotty fur of Fute's shoulder. "Ah ne're worried meself as a pup.. but now ah worry. Ah worry about ye, and the future... an' now ah worry about this auld wolf." he shuddered again, noticing the 'auld' wolf shuddering too.

"Ah think 'e's movin.. " it felt to him like he was looking over a pup of his own, though this wolf was old enough to be his father's father. He had always wanted --... he didn't know what he wanted anymore. He could only sit and hope for the moment.

Going blind panics anyone... the water was dark, but Mingan could make out at least little nuances in the water and his surroundings. The whole place began to get fuzzy now, though. He strained his eyes to see, but things only got worse. He began to thrash his limbs, hoping for his life that he could swim upwards. The thrashing was in vein, his legs wouldn't move in the least.

Rochir seemed to slip into some sort of a slight speech, and Fute did all he could to listen closely, carefully deciding what to do afterwards. A lapse of ideas fell over him, his mind aching and reaching this way and that for any possible movements to happen next. What was he supposed to say? He took a deep breath in and out, then all at once a sudden something seemed to come to him, overtaking him like clouds on a sunny day, but rather only in a good way. "Rochir, shh....You needn't worry so much. What happens will happens. What doesn't, simply won't. Either way, we're in all of this together. We will all be fine. I promise." On the words I promise he gave his love another affectionate lick, now remembering more than ever the word 'mate', and how they'd both inadvertantly used it towards one another. Was it really true..?

Mingan did indeed seem to be tossing and turning in his sleep, but it's something that Fute knew would have to wear itself off. They'd obviously tried and failed to awaken him, so now all there was to do was wait. "Mingan will be fine. Trust me. We just have to wait it out..."

He gave Fute a quick nuzzle at his calm and encouraging words. "Ah guess.. yir right." What a pair they made. One completely optimistic, the other completely pessimistic. Rochir was quick to agree with Fute, his mind was being assaulted now by negative feelings, sad and distant hopes. He stretched himself out, exposing his right side. It occured to him that the yellow wolf had stricken Mingan and himself on their right sides, adding more to his previous statement that they had 'twin wounds'. It hurt to stretch, but he felt he needed it. Turning himself almost completely upside down he inched his way closer to Mingan and pawed at the other wolf's chest softly, playfully. "Ah 'ope 'e will." he smiled softly. "Ah really do like 'im." There was that wistful sigh again, completing the look on his maw.

Fute was glad that his words were getting through to Rochir. It made him happy to see the one he loved be happy. However when Rochir edged closer to the gray one, a sudden unsure look fell over him. And if only for a brief moment, it was positive that mixed signals had occured. Nah... Shake yourself from the thought. Not even! His mind contemplated for a split second whether or not it was possible for Rochir to ever have feelings for another. A small pain shot through his heart, causing his eyes to widen quickly, but then subside back to normal. Jealousy. An emotion he wasn't familiar with, and had never come across in his lifetime until now, was taking him on for one small moment of time. "I hope he wakes up too." His voice this time was soft and mellow. He really did hope the male would be alright, all the same...

Streeeeeeeeeeeeeeeetching felt goooood to the maned male. His body hurt like he had been run over by a stampede of elk, but at least he was alive. He looked up at Fute just in time to catch the less than positive look on his face. Straightening up a bit, he made quick to reassure Fute. "Donnae ye worry yirself." he spoke, not certain as to the origin of the look, any posibility in his head seemed silly, but he still felt that Fute should not worry. His paws lost contact with the grey male, but Rochir didn't move to get up. For now he would just lay here and rest himself.

The thought came to him that maybe Fute had taken his words the wrong way. "Ah mean ah like 'im, 'e seems like e'd make a good friend.. once ye got t' know him. 'E's old enough t'be our father's father, ye know." he smiled. He had not know his grandfather, and barely knew his own father, but he was sure Mikhael would like this old grey male just as much.

If he ever found Mikhael. He sighed and shut his eyes again.

His mind trailed off for a while but snapped back into reality when Rochir said what he did. A look of relief struck him, but once again the other one plumetted back, shutting his eyes and sighing. There had possibly been something that Rochir had never spoken to him about. Maybe it was that very something that brought him down sometimes. Rather or not he actually -had- spoken of it, whatever it was, before, was something Fute lacked remembrance of. So, who knew. "Just to let you know...you can tell me about anything..." His soft whispers echoed delicately in the night's cool air as he brought himself to lay beside him.

Rochir opened his eyes when he felt Fute beside him. Making eye contact with the spotted male, he spoke. "Dinnae Ah tell ye about me Da'?" his eyes glittered with moonlight and hurt. The pain of the past had not escaped him, it kept trapped in his heart, hitting him with full force at random moments of the day. The thought occured to him that he never mentioned his dad to anyone.. it only made the pain worse.

"Well. When ah was but a wee lad, me Da' was chased off.. by me grandparents." he glanced at Mingan for a second, glad that at least this old wolf had turned out ok. "They 'ated 'im, said 'e wasnae good enough for me mum. Ah was still a wee pup.. ah challenged me grandfather... ah BIT me own flesh and blood. 'E almost killed me.. ah ran as fast as me legs could go.. and ah ended up runnin' int' the mute... and yoo." he smiled, giving Fute a nuzzle.

"And ah've been lookin' for 'im ever since... Ah'm beginnin' t' think ah'll ne're find 'im." he finished finally, eyes half glazed, sadness gathering on his face.
