The teal-eyed dust bowed her head. "I understand. It's fine." She looked back up at the two. "Good evening to you, too. Come back anytime!" Daemetia smiled gently at them, making her way over to the door. She opened it softly, making sure not to scratch the doorknob- a difficult task.

Damien nodded his appreciation of her opening the door for them; it would be an impossible task for Serpents, which is one reason why the turquoise reptile made his caves instead, and probably the reason why Draconis didn't try looking for an actual house. That, and the difference between the width of the door and Damien's shoulders.
After the larger Serpent squeezed through, Aure looked back at Daemetia before leaving. He seemed about to say something, then changed his mind and left with his adoptive father. The Serpents said their goodbyes again, then slither-ran, bounced, jumped, and glided into the air.

Daemetia watched the small serpent closely, all the way until the two disappeared in the air. 'I wonder what he was going to say.' Her dark teal eyes closed briefly, before the shut the door gently with her tail and went back to the kitchen. Fish sounded like a pretty good lunch.

Daemetia sighed contentedly, licking her beak. That was a very good fish! By now, it was afternoon. Dark teal eyes peered around, looking for something to do. In all honesty, there was very little to do around the house. The purple swirled dust often got bored and lonely. Maybe she would take a walk later, or something.

Daemetia sighed, walking out the front door. The air was nice and cool, and the sun was setting a little by now. Perfect time for a walk. So her talons clicked on the occasional rock as she trotted across the yard, wandering on away.

The female dust returned from her walk. The sun had set completely by this time, the silvery rays of the moon taking its place. The clicking of talons signaled her return. Daemetia reared onto her hind legs, talons wrapping around the door knob. She really needed a better way to open it. Once inside, a stale scent of lavender told her Larisha had been here. It smelled pretty good, actually. The teal eyed dustling leapt onto a high seat, peering at a note written rather messily. She didn't mind it. 'Daemetia, I have just received word that a stardust apparently fell into a coffee mug. Judging from the fact that the mug is blue and green striped and titled 'I <3 Comet Milk', I would say that a Comet Serpent will form instead of a Normal Dust, like yourself. I'm not sure of much exept from his colors and the fact that he will be male. My job as a Computer Game Developer has been keeping me busy, and I also have to keep watch over Iro, the Comet Serpent. I will show him your new home when he is ready. I'm sorry I haven't been around lately, but we have a release date to make. Ryou might be over tomorrow, so be prepared. Love you! Larisha. Daemetia grinned, leaping from the chair and dashed around the room a few times. She had a new roommate! What would he act like? How much would he like her? What would he like? All of these questions plus a million more came into her mind. She was so happy! And Ryou was coming over, too! Ryou was one of Larisha's co-workers that Daemetia had taken a particular liking to. Larisha herself didn't really like Ryou, but he was tolerable. She tolerated him more for Daemetia than anything else. The female half-breed wouldn't settle down for several more hours. Larisha sighed, putting her head down on her desk. Game Designing was so draining, especially when you add a few weeks worth of sleep deprivation on top of it. Her dark blue eyes focused on the blue and green striped coffee mug, the only good thing she could think of. Thinking of Daemetia only made her feel worse for never being there. Ryou had been assigned to a different game that released the day before, and he wanted to see Daemetia. At least someone would be there. She watched Iro's mug a few more moments, before her eyes drifted closed.

Daemetia finally settled down. By now it was almost 1 AM, and the dustling was tired. Even the most hyper-active get tired sometimes. Curling up on her bed, she prepared to to go to sleep for the night. Coiling her tail over her beak to keep it warm, she drifted off into dream-land. Darkness was all around them. Suddenly, a light burst from the corner of it's vision, illuminating the two creatures. There was no color, only darkness and light, white and black. One was a serpent, wicked looking although not a demonic, long, forked tounge sliding out to taste the air for it's prey. The second, a half-breed dustling. Daemetia recognized it as herself. The serpent lunged, wings flared to full size, jaws stretched wide. Ivory teeth closed in on the half-breed's throat... The female dust yelped, snapping awake. A knock was at the door. A timid, quiet knock that was barely audiable. Daemetia's teal eyes were still wide. 'What was that?' The knock came again. This time, it was even more timid than before, and apparently doubting itself. This time the dust stood and rushed to the door, slowly opening it with her claws. She had known it was him all along.

A shrill cry interrupted Larisha's dreaming. Immediately she sat up straight, dark blue eyes peering around wildly. Finally they settled on the mug. In the mug, a small, four-eared serpent was poking it's head out, clinging to the edge of the mug. It let out a wail again, apparently wanting to be fed. Larisha sweat-dropped, not expecting it to grow this fast. Taking a small piece of ham sandwich, she poked it into the mouth of the little serpent. It spit it out. A small piece of chocolate that Larisha hadn't finished the day before called to her. Long fingered hands carefully picked it up, poking it towards the blue and green baby poking it's head out of the mug. Iro immediately snapped it up, licked his lips, and cried for more. And thus Iro became a chocoholic. Pity Larisha for her terrible mistake.

(v is a blatant Yu-Gi-Oh rip-off. Oh well.) Ryou stood at the door, waiting for Daemetia to answer. When she didn't, he began to doubt himself. Maybe he shouldn't have bothered her? What if she had guests or something? Finally the door opened, revealing the grinning Dustling. Why was she so happy? The teenager (who had graduated from High School and College early, amazingly) realized what he must look like to her- Some weird creature with long white fur from his head, hanging all the way down to the bottom of his shoulder-blades. Big doe brown eyes peered out from a slender, angelic face, contrasting his flawless alabaster skin. "Hello Daemetia!" Ryou whispered, getting down on his knees. He scratched her behind the ears. Daemetia chirped, "Hello Ryou!" although she knew he couldn't understand dustling speak. Oh well. Sometimes it seemed as though the little teen did. She licked his face, than stepped back, swishing her tail in a way that said 'Come in please!' Ryou smiled, wiping his face a little where the adult half-breed had liked him. "I'm coming, Dae." He took a few steps inside, sitting on a teal couch. "How have you been?" The teal-eyed female yapped happily, "I'm having fun! I met two serpents yesterday. They were nice." She crept up into his lap, sitting on one small theigh will resting her head on his shoulder comfortably. Ryou's smile grew a bit gentler. She seemed to be fine here. He couldn't help but wonder if she had met anyone new, but there was no way to tell. That was one of the things that made the doe-brown eyed male sad- He couldn't understand Daemetia's language. His dearest wish was that he could, but there was no one granting his wish.

Larisha typed away at the code for the computer game, watching the screen as the letters flashed on the screen.
Through the Valley of the Granted Wish Creatures Iro sat in her lap, orange eyes peering at the screen inquisitively. He had recently come from his mug, having grown considerably. His green and blue scales shimmered in the dull light of the laboratory-like setting. The light was coming from the various computer screens around them, the sound of typing from the nimble hands of the workers the only thing to keep the child serpent's four ears from going deaf from silence.

Larisha sighed, rubbing her eyes. She stood, setting Iro in the chair as the young woman went to fetch coffee. The electronic billboard flashed ominously at her as she got the nourishing drink. "Deadline: 25th of July. % of game finished is 82%." Iro's orange eyes lit up slightly, little nose poking the odd contraption that put symbols on the screen. When the little serpent looked back up, he squeaked in delight. Larisha returned, carrying her hot coffee carefully. But that all ended when she peered up at the screen. Her mouth went agape and almost dropped the boiling hot beverage. "Iro <3 milk chocolate." The jet black haired woman looked at the serpent. "...was that you?" Iro nodded, giving a cry of delight. It's stomach rumbled slightly.

Ryou rubbed Daemetia ear's, listening to her story. It sounded like she had a good day. A present, food of some sort by a flying, reptilian creature that she seemed to think highly of. The dustling language was hard to understand, so the half-breed had to basically play charades. Daemetia finished talking, gesturing for Ryou to speak by opening her mouth without sound. Ryou's days hadn't been nearly as eventful, so he just told Daemetia about the game he had been working on. The teen wasn't sure she knew what a 'game' was, in the sense that he knew it. But she listened intently, seeming delighted with his designer's ideas. Or what she did get of his designer's ideas. Before Ryou knew it, he had run out of things to talk about. Daemetia peered at a (of course) purple swirled clock with teal lighting, and it read 9:38 pm. Ryou gasped slightly. "Wow, it's late. I need to go, Dae. Sorry." He stood, slowly walking towards the door. He bent down, scratched the dustling's ears one last time, and left. And, as it turned out, another human wouldn't be going home for awhile. The now grown serpent slithered along the sidewalk, not wanting to fly for now. Larisha had been unable to make it. The large, flashing light said 'Deadline: July 25th. Progress: 86%', so she wasn't coming home. Instead, she had typed the directions on the screen, and Iro had understood. Now the blue and green male slithered along towards his new home silently. Another dust, Daemetia, reportedly lived there. He sighed, not liking the idea of sharing a house with another dustling, and a hyper one (according to Larisha) at that. But, he supposed, he would have to endure it.

The serpent sat up, flaring his wings slightly to keep balance. He hadn't perfected siting up on his serpentine body quite yet, but at least now he didn't fall on his face. Iro's eyes scanned the house in front of him. It was the right address, the right style, but there was no hyper dustling to be seen yet. Of course, he hadn't even opened the door yet. And now for his first challenge- Opening a door knob. Without hands, claws or anything similar, this was going to be a challenge. The blue and green serpent flapped his wings, hovering to where his tail could reach the knob, and tried to open the door. Amazingly it worked, and the adult slithered into the house. The first thing that stood out to Iro (and stood out it did) was that the house had a very purple and teal color scheme. Ew. The second thing he noticed was that there still was no hyper dustlings in sight.

Daemetia's teal eyes watched the odd serpent slither around, looking for any trace of the hyper-active dustling he had doubtlessly heard about. So this is Iro...her new house-mate. How AWESOME! She ran out into the open, away from her hiding spot behind one of the couches. "Hiya Iro!" The dust screamed, launching herself at the serpent for a play fight. Iro whirled around, surprised, and snapped his jaws menacingly. Whatever it was, the creature lay off and backed up. Her fur was the same color as the purple swirled carpet- Eyes the same color as the walls. "So you're...Daemetia?" The fae nodded furiously, still grinning.

Daemetia's grin was still on her muzzle. "So you're..Iro?" "Yes." "Well..I guess that means..." The dustling was oddly calm for a moment, but only a moment. "New ROOMIE!" She screamed, running back to her room. "I have to straighten your room up!" Iro sweatdropped, remaining where he was. This was going to be one hell of a home.
