Hey guys! I just joined, but I have 6 months till I finish High School and an extra 2 months till my 18th Birthday! I'd join now sad but my parents..everyone in my family doesn't like the idea of me going off to do my job as a citizen of the United States. Maybe it's the fact that most of my family members are in, or were in the Air Force. They think the Marine Corps. is a place where people go to ruin their lives. They don't understand. Not in the way I see it. Anyways...I see that most of you guys live on the East Coast. I live in Hawaii, so I'm gonna get shipped out to San Diego. Then afterwards get shipped out to wherever the Corps. trains their SAW Gunners whee cool

If you signed a Machine Gunner option on your contract, that means you'll be working with 50 cals and GOLFs.

Just got back from my first deployment. Fired a few arty rounds, but did more foot patrols. Figures... No love for artillery

Yea, man, I know what you mean, Artillery really doesn't do anything with their MOS anymore in Iraq.
I'm a LCPL, 0651 on student stauts in 29 Palms (29 Stumps more like it....)
