WoefulInfinity: Thirty years isn't bad at all, but I still feel sad for him dying when Rivek does - I suppose I should probably feel worse for Rivek (;

Meanwhile, I look forward to the Punnett - good luck with your homework load (;

Mm. So ... if magic could be harnessed and used in some sort of device, does that mean a non-magical person (or a partly-magical person) might become magical/more magical? I have no idea how that would work with any kind of device, but it just occured to me after I read your remarks (:

As for how you get all of that in your story without it textbookizing ... good question (; Wise old mage who imparts knowledge freely and often when not asked for it? (; I sometimes take the easy way out with finding space for explanations by bringing in outsiders - they're need to know the things I can't just write in essay form (;

Kyrrakina
Tairain became a princess, too. XD I really love royalty.

Heheh, maybe someday. It definitely needs some revision first, since I wrote it so long ago.

Who doesn't? (;

Good luck - I hope the revision, whenever it happens, goes well (:

Every time I visit here I wonder what I'll say in regard to the questions about my character - having read everything everyone else had to say I think my worlds might be at the boring end of the stick (; Having said that, I will come back with a succinct answer that won't devour our lives with it's far-too-longness soon (:

Yes, the rigging machinery to process magic happens in the future after natural mages become scarce (dark mages killed off for polical reasons, so nature swings back and light mages kinda are born with less and less magic... evolution and whatnot). The theories are based on high level physics/quantum mechanics. Light-mages are effective in powering these machines. Dark-mages are kind of considered waste. XD; Yay for historical prejudice with genetics.

Hehe. I'm probably going to do it through Rivek - he has to explain himself when he goes on trial - a dark-mage yeoman impersonating as a noble for a good eight years winds up in deep s**t XD; . Still, Rivek knows what he is and, therefore, how his body works - especially since he'd had to hide it for so long.

Mainland mages tend to be lightmages, so they just kind of play around with thier magic - especially since it's tied in with religion so people assume it's a kind of forbidden mystic thing. Also, it's mainly safe and stuff. Due to dark-magic's more corrosive nature, the Alisian (population high in darkmages) - and the Yuraki (historically Alisian allies, they're a country of intellectuals who pursue knowledge in order to trump one another, harhar) - studied magic more scientifically.

I know, Audley, I've seen one of you chars with a star on his face. Care to descrive him?

Rae told me to post about Mek in here but I'm laaaaaaaazy so I'm just going to respond to AUdley's question on the first page.

Which of your characters is most like you? I know a few people around here have the same username as their OCs, so it's likely a given in some cases, but if you care to expand on similarities between yourself and your character, that would be excellent, too.

Mekania is my username for almost everything, mostly because I was so proud of the name I had created way back when Mek was a fanfic character camio and not anything like the current Mek.

After I had her fully developed (and some of my friends started calling me Mek offline) I realized she is quite a lot like me. We both have incredible tempers though I don't make things explode (I certainly would like to sometimes!). We have the same fear of abandonment caused by people close to us (her father/mother - I'm adopted, her husband - my boyfriend just..disappearing, her closest friends leaving - my best friends always move away, etc). Our love for the underdog is probably the most surprising thing I noticed. She's demonic royalty but she always falls for mortals and I'm always attracted to the guys that get picked on by the other kids/smaller guys/nerdy boys/etc.

My worlds are pretty boring too XD just earth and hell.

You didn't kill the thread - I think it was my turn to answer and I sort of fell off of the edge of the universe for a moment (;

Anyway, I don't really know what to say about my starry-eyed character - he's a bit strange. <- and I'm quite bad with descriptions, it seems. He's human, has a fairly average heritage, born with a black star over his right eye ... all very standard (; Eventually he realised his psychic abilities weren't normal, and that sort of shaped him as an odd person in a world where fitting in is considered very important.

I really am terrible with summarizing characters - I'll return to this (;

That's quite honest. I haven't seen your temper yet, so I couldn't remark on that (; My impression of the character Mekania is that she's quite cool and collected under fire, but if something does cause her to get angry in front of anyone they're really in for it.

I could be wrong about that, of course (;

XD Strange is good. <3 I'm wondering, though, does the black star symbolize anything? Is it a birthmark, I suppose?

Elaborate on psychich abilities, neh? ^_^

waaah....I was wondering, does any of you have a problem with the number of your OCs growing so rapidly that you can't stop it x___X? Shavrisjada started as a short story with only 4 characters: the boys, their father and Zelos....later we used the twins in a rp, and so Murasaki and Rasmus came to life, and Mare appeared in a flashback....then it was quiet for some time, while the story stood in place....but then, i added ONE scene, and the hell started gonk ....Shavi changed into Cain. Enoch, Saphira and Aria appeared. Mare came back to life only to die again a day later, then Shavi came back and left with his brother, where he met the stupid albino guy. Not to mention Yumehayla and Shinoka who appeared for some time from the crossover with another of my stories...Meanwhile Enoch came to life from the Dreamworld with the accidental help of goddess Mara, suddenly making another branch of the story, the Enochiada...He met Regis, Mara hanged out with them for a bit, then left and made herself another branch, the Oukajada, where she mets the god-to-be Ouka....suddenly Murasaki appears again from nothingness, giving birth to Murasjada, as he cames back to his homeland to be a seer, with the help of elder seers Mutare and Reira...and it's still not ended x____X...so from 4 characters suddenly I have 20, and a feeling that it's just the beginning x___X...

I have somewhere around 160 characters.

...

>.>

So no, it's not abnormal. I went through a phase in 8th grade where I just kept making more and more OCs, about 50-60 of them come from that time - there were also maybe 20 that I nixed. Now, I usually come up with a new one (or two, since usually I create in pairs... I define my chars much by how they intereact with other chars) every few months or so if/when I come up with an interesting plot. Now, it just comes totally randomly from random spurts of inspiration. I prefer to work further on my old characters.

My latest characters (from maybe March) are Belsamel and Toriayne. I created Tori first, inspired by Nuriko from Fushigi Yugi. Bel is a prince of an male-dominated, desert country. Tori is his "wife." "She" is from the north - pale skin, long dark hair, totally gorgeous. But also, totally reclusive. The only person she'll e truly open to is Bel. This is because "she" is a guy, albeit a very pretty one. ((Tori, by the way, is my only cross-dressing character.)) He used to be openly gay in his old country - he was a tailor's son, so he alters his own clothes as Queen to make them more convincing. However, Bel - studying abroad as Princes do - convinced him to be his Queen. Tori, although gay, is not the flamboyant type and especially not the royal type. Still, he agrees to cross-dress, take hormone pills (okay, magic pills because it's fantasy), and go because he's in love with Bel.
(Ehr, that's just the setting. XD; I could continue with the plot - rising action/climax, if desired)

However, for me, for a character to stick around as an OC, s/he has to have a strong storyline that I find original and am willing to work with. I hold the story plot as the highest regard and flesh out the characters as I go - thus in result, fleshing out the plot. LIke, since it's such a deep, continuing process, I invest a lot in it and have to be willing to kill characters that are not going to produce a good story.

xD xD...nice story, had a few similar in two of my worlds xD xD

actually, Yumeh has something about 600 original characters in 4 of her worlds and 7 of her niichan's worlds...but mostly in hers. she was a very lonely girl once, sitting whole day in her room and just thinking to herself >.>....but it's hell hard to count all the characters, after with making a second world I stopped making geneological trees for them >.>....but hey, thar 13 a4 papers glued in one long line for a geneological tree of one world almost killed me x___X.....so I just try to remember the most important ones xD xD...but all my other stories from these worlds grow steadily, only the Shavrisjada shooted rapidly ...

Ah, all my char stuff is in my head - I'm way too lazy to write it down! XD; So I don't ahve paper family trees or anything. I only ahve one world, though. Well, one world and a bunch of separate short stories that are all self-contained when it comes to environement.

Hehe. It's probably becvause you like Shavrisjada the best (reminds me of hinduism - the Mahabarta, just because I like how both sound. )

I started to like it so mch after Enoch appeared~<3
but actually, that's strange...when I started collecting art, Shavris was one of my minor characters, almost forgotten, in the shadows of stars such as Yumehayla, Tennieru, Rasheed-chama, Death, and many, many others..still, I have no idea why it was him who I choose for collecting...

XD; I tend to just go with characters that people like to draw best. Most people like Kai because he's a pirate and pirates are popular, but people who know me and know the story behind him tend to choose Rivek.

at the beginning I wanted my collection to be only of one character xD xD...but then it just grew to whole of his story xD xD...well, mostly because poor Shavi's design isn't that good xDDDDDDD....with my niichan we had a huge trend for latex and fishnet then o.o....poor Shavi boy o.o.....and since for me character's outfit has a REALLY huge influence on his personality, changing clothes was impossible>.>....now I try to play with Mutare and Reira's clothing in my requests as an experiments, but they already started blending with their initial clothes>.>...

Haha, I'm a person who hates having to draw specific outfits for a character. It's like "They have to have more than one set of clothes, goddamit it! What happens when they need to wash them?"

XD I wanna draw Rivek in pajamas. Or rather, what he sleeps in which isn't really pajamas but just a loose shirt and pants.
