“You brought sweets too, right?” Asterix commented as he plopped on the ground next to Zoicite and looked through the array of food. If he was going to enjoy an afternoon picnic then there had to be some actual sweets too! The youngling was prepared to pout before noticing that his sister had brought out her bag as well. Oh? Asterix grinned as he settled in and waited for Quielle, confident that she would have brought something sweet for them all to enjoy. So a beautiful view, potential diving later and just general shenanigans with some desserts on top of it all? He would consider today a success indeed.

“Don’t worry.” Quielle grinned as she took out the pastries she had brought along with them. “I can’t have a meal without something sweet, so I have you covered.” She laughed softly as she watched Asterix’s expression brighten at the sight of the goodies. “Just don’t eat too much or you’ll sink later when we go swimming.” She teased more even as she settled in as well and started to fill her own plate, the girl more than ready to continue their afternoon together.

Zoicite simply chuckled as he picked through the variety of food once the others had their plates full. “I guess it’s a good thing you brought extra then for the meal.” He was thinking of saving desserts for when they got home so that the icing on the pastries wouldn’t melt, but after seeing how Quielle and Asterix devoured them there was little worry about such things. I’ll remember for next time. “So…have you ever swam in the deep ocean before?” He started, curious to see what his cousins could do before they started getting into any risky situations. He had to be a bit responsible, after all, even though he was looking forward to splashing around later this afternoon.

“We can swim.” Quetzal answered as he paused in between eating a piece of a honeyed roll. “But we aren’t deep ocean swimmers like you guys are.” That much he had to be honest about or else Rixie and Ellie would be trying to go as far as they could, not caring about the dangers. He was thankful that Zoicite at least thought about that part before they dove into anything this afternoon, the teen still wary about the potential dangers lurking in the ocean below.

“Mmm.” They should be careful then. Kailani looked at her brother pointedly even as she continued listening to the conversation, the cousins sharing their stories and bringing up potential challenges that they could do this afternoon which did include diving from the cliffs. At least she knew the waters below were mostly safe, that much she could guarantee after years of living here in this peaceful cove. So even Kailani was confident that they would have a good afternoon and return home later with plenty of stories to share with the others once everything was said and done.
