Riker wasn’t sure what his heart or stomach was doing. His heart felt like it was racing while his stomach did weird flips, and all he wanted to do was hug Cassidy tighter. To erase all of the pain and worrying he’d caused. To decide to spend his days wallowing with him instead of hiding at Reims.

But then he wouldn’t have seen Yvoire. Not that Yvoire’s experience at Reims seemed to be a particularly pleasant one, but he was relieved to see him doing as well as possible.

Especially with the storms and what was happening.

“As long as you can tolerate me spending ridiculous amounts of time with you,” he gently teased, stroking his hand up and down Cassidy’s back to reassure him. He wanted to apologize again, but instead just pressed a kiss to the top of his head. And once he had Cassidy’s attention enough that he looked up at him, Riker pressed a kiss to his lips as well.
