Anyone else really not feeling this week's challenge?
I've got an avi ready to rumble, but the prompt is really giving me some pause.

i can also say that i was also having a fair bit of difficulty this time around
i don't usually make sexy avi's anymore so i have to brush up on my skills for sure
i also had too many different directions i wanted to take my look some too avant-guard, some too plain, and one was too creative to the point of off-theme LMAO
it took me some time to re-focus, and though i'm still not 100% sold on mine i like it enough

My issue is building my background. its so hard to find Items like I had to track down a runway entry I could link a picture of and then post in a what item is this thread. Because I legit couldn't locate it.

I was excited to do it but then my partner and I had a fight last night and I just wasn't feeling very romantically inspired after that.
Also if you aren't feeling a prompt sometimes its because you've taken it in the wrong direction. Maybe it needs some humor? or some spice? a little quirky nod perhaps?
Honestly you have 5 more days I would personally do at least one additional look just to play around in a different direction to see If you find something you feel more confident in.

Yeah, I'm sure different folks with different strokes may not feel the same, but something about posting a Valentine's Day boudoir avi, especially with a description to accompany it on a site that permits minors, feels... morally objectionable, to put it lightly. I think I might just sit this one out on moral grounds regardless of the outcome it yields. Worst case scenario, I can always catch up with you folks in the eliminated look book thread or the main forum.
For those who don't have the same reservations, though, I can imagine that real life relationships and work situations definitely factor into the successfulness of this challenge; it's so personal in its own right that keeping the two separated seems next to impossible. With that being said, it might be worth leaning into some of that struggle. If work is weighing you down, maybe lean into what helps you relax after a long day, or if it's a domestic dispute, embed a cheeky stab at the conflict into the avatar. I know that for me at least, creativity really shines when the personal passion (i.e., current real life thoughts and motivation) factors into it. For example, if you use a bubble bath to relax or enjoy reading, a spin on those activities is definitely viable, and if you're tired of arguing over dishes, a sudsy setting could be a fun way of showing how nice things can be when they're clean. Certainly easier said then done, but that's part of the fun of a challenge.

I mean your avi right now could be boudoir it doesn't have to be super sexual. lingerie can be really sweet and cute and boudoir can be very reserved. I recommend looking into modest boudoir. It more meant to be about feeling sexy and empowered. You can even find photos of Women in Hijab doing boudoir, women who are in full dresses. Its all about vibes and if you describe it too the judges right you would be bringing a unique perspective.
I just think it would be a shame for you to not move forward because you feel uncomfortable with how sexual it is.
Sounds like it's been a rough week for quite a few of you. I truly hope it passes and all things align again.
I agree with using this challenge as a way of cleansing your week or stressor that may have recently happened. Find the right time and allow yourself just to be free with it. Please take good care of yourselves!~emotion_bigheart

it really hits different when you're asexual LOL I still somehow manage to get it done, but work kept me busy this week too.
I mean, you're talking about someone who thinks people putting their partner's photos as the phone wallpaper are weird 💀 rip me
I've been trying to find more ace gangs out there! I've only met one here in Gaia before but that was when I was still on the dl about it
How did you come up with your entries this week?

I actually was experimenting with avi building while brainstorming/thinking about entries and I found the combination of the background really pleasing to the eye. It made me think of some scenes from some of the romance novels my friends like to read. So I kind of wanted to go for something that would be fitting on the cover, or some in-cover art like I'd seen at my work.

i went through a good 3-4 versions before coming up with my final entry
my first idea was to depict Maeve as a selkie (like i had her in an ocean background with her fur pelt and fishnets etc) but it was too mermaid-y for my liking
then i dialed back the creativity and ended up with a look that was too vintage pinup and not boudoir
then i had an idea of "anti-boudoir" which was just lounging on a couch in cute pyjamas LMAO
eventually i just went for a classic(?) sexy look: strappy lingerie but added in selkie elements
it took a couple days of bouncing around the pros and cons of each look before settling on my final concept

I can see that! I really like the Zen colour scheme too. It's like one of those fancy visual novel cover designs

the pajamas idea would've been pretty funny LOL I had a huge problem with lingerie too. Like I wanted to be very simple and elegant, was gonna do completely just with a necklace? But then I second guessed myself and thought I would lose points for not having any actual clothing burning_eyes

Despite the difficulties I think everyone had some really gorgeous looks this week!!! I also had a tough time finalizing my look and I think this was the toughest challenge for me yet... I love boudoir and Valentines Day but I feel like with less clothes involved, it's way easier to overthink every little detail because each little thing becomes that much more important...
The other look I was toying with was heavily Rococo-inspired, which definitely plays to *my* tastes, but ultimately scrapped it as a big fat frilly bustle doesn't exactly scream "sexy" by modern standards sweatdrop

Hey I'm all about a Big Frilly Bustle
Also i agree this week was so strong for everyone! You guys did so good!

I also considered doing a pajama look early on! lots of example I saw online were like lounge wear or a big button up shirt rather than thongs and monokini's
I think its rad we have so many ace competitors I like that we got to get so many cool takes on this romantic challenge
