Cassidy didn’t want to let go of Reims’ hand but he supposed he’d been half-naked around him for long enough. “I’m sure they haven’t eaten all the pie. They seem like good, upstanding young men.”
He laughed once more, and even if he had been disappointed about not having a magical fix-all cure for his arm, it was impossible to be in sour spirits.
“Most of my clothes I pick not just because they look good on me, but also because they’re easy to get into and out of. But since you’re offering, I’d like the help. Maybe the next time we come up here, you can help me get into a top. I’m sure your friends wouldn’t mind seeing my scar, I just don’t want to make them worry. Ephesus seems like he’s really compassionate, I don’t want to make him feel bad for me. Here,” he had to fetch the shirt he’d arrived in and he handed it to Reims before he gave himself one last quick dry with the towel and then held out his arms so Reims could help him wiggle into it.
“How are you going to change clothes, do you just do some magic and then you’re good and dry? If you want to run out and get some pie set up while I change back into my shorts, that’ll only take me a minute. My stomach’s going to grumble any minute now so don’t be freaked out if it does. I didn’t have dinner yet because I thought if I didn’t eat any pie you guys might think I poisoned it. I’ve been watching too many crime dramas.”

“Yeah, I can help you get dressed or undressed whenever you’d like,” he promised, because it wasn’t like it would be that big of a deal, especially if it would save Cassidy some time.
“I just need to go behind a wall and, uh… basically turn my magic off and then on again,” he explained with a small wince because it sounded silly, but also much easier than what Cassidy had to deal with.
He took the shirt that was handed to him, and held it up for Cassidy to slide his arm through, and then helped get it over his head, basically the same way he’d helped him get out of the wet swim top.
“I’m surprised mine hasn’t been making noises yet. I haven’t eaten since earlier today.”
These days he didn’t have to worry about food with Evan being so accommodating, but prior to that, sometimes he had to wonder what he would do for lunch. He was usually fine fending for himself, but it sucked having to think about it.

How Cassidy didn’t snicker at the idea of Reims helping him get dressed or undressed was a miracle in itself. He was lucky there was more to focus on than just that, and after he slipped into his shirt and wriggled some to get it on, he nodded. There wasn’t much more he could do unless Reims didn't mind getting flashed, but Cassidy thought maybe he’d seen enough for one day.
Even if Reims’ magic sounded silly, Cassidy didn’t have a need to question it. Superman went into a phone booth, and the Power Rangers just morphed up or whatever. Resetting magic like an unruly computer made just as much sense as any of the others.
“Oh, all the more reason for me to make sure I bring food with me. You have to stay big and strong in case I need to be carried away from danger again. Hey, send me a list of food you like. I want to learn how to make it. Maybe I can find some meals you haven’t tried yet, too. My grandmother’s so excited I’m asking her for recipes. I’m going to have to tell my friends to stop packing lunches so they can taste test for me. I don’t really know how to make small batches. Okay, you go do your magic stuff. I’m about to start stress sweating, you have to taste the pie before I can worry about if it’s good enough for you!”

Send him a list of the food he liked? Cassidy really was trying to pamper him. Or… something. Be friendly? He said he wanted to make sure he liked him, but how could Reims not after everything?
He’d been wrong about Cassidy, he realized. He was trying not to wallow in guilt, hoping that one day Cassidy would forgive him.
A small smile tugged at his lips when Cassidy shooed him to do his magic stuff, also looking forward to the pie that he’d made. He’d already tasted it as Riker, but he could put on a good show as Reims to keep up the act.
“Alright. Call me if you need any help with anything,” he insisted, and with a small nod he ducked out of the room to find his own stall to change into a dry outfit.
