He was already helping Dep up and hauling the beast back towards the Ranch. Dep responded to him, limping back towards the Ranch. He muttered soothing words to the beast the whole way back to the safety of the Ranch. He looked to his brother. "We need to set up his bed inside." he nodded to the large side door that was made for puppies, now it would be used to get Dep to where he'd be warm and safe. He looked to the Radaku's. "You guys be good, Dep got hurt."

“Pish posh, he did his best to save us he can come right in our room for the first few nights we are sensitive enough to notice differences and he is such a good boy I woudlnt want him out here, what if they follow us Lura?” He could at times be a bit of a worry wart but Dep had more than redemed himself it had scared him he was so important to the family. “I uh just need to keep an eye on him and where better than cosseted in with us hey?” Besides his body heat will keep us nice and warm.

He sighed as he nodded to his mate. "Yes, we'll be taking all three of them. I knew you'd read my mind on this. She's giving us the breeding pair for a puppy and the older boy for free. She just wants them where she knows they won't be abused." he watched their boys guide Dep back. "Their both so worried about him now." he was worried that Lyco had started to develop resentment since he was so much closer to the Radaku than Dep. He rubbed his neck. "Our boy..." Dep was a pup that was rasied by Isaris mainly, but he had quickly taken to Vallen back in the day. "He is such a good pup still."

He grinned with no shame at his mate. They bith adored animals and a geriactric janarim might get along the best with Dep anyway.
“Call it what you will but I think it put love in perspective for Lyco. Im very glad that Dep is armored though my god if we had lost him.” He shook his head trying not to think on it too hard. Dep was a deep part of their family and had been for a very long time.
“We will get home see to our wounded and feed everybody, food makes life better.”
He knew he was starving after all that action. “Maybe something with eggs, we have many eggs at the moment.”

He was glad to be the stronger of the two boys as Dep was a heavy punk. He kept the beast up as they got to the family compound. "Its alright Dep, we got you..." he grunted when he heard Dep let out a low bellowing whine. Something they rarely heard but knew it was his pain whine. "I know, I know..."

He rushed to get medical stuff. He realized now that he would have to do a little less reading and a little more working out in case a similar situation ever came up again. Lura was pulling his weight just fine, Dep was very heavy. Lyco was tired but adrenaline kept him at speed plus his mental fortitude in such a situation. He wasn't sure he would be as calm if it were one of their parents injured but Dep was a big critter. He should be okay now that they were home and he could rest and be royally spoiled.

He sighed as they got inside the ranch with Dep. He whistled out the alert. Nodding to a few family members who instantly cleared the Radaku. "We'll have Dep inside with us boys."
He walked ahead of the boys to open the side door they used for situations like this. It was a side nook to the kitchen which was set up for sick or injured.

Now that they were home, Vallen uncharacteristically felt a bone deep tiredness. All was currently well, no one would be able to get at the boys or Dep in the compound. They would be foolish to try with all of the radaku around. He felt safe. He paused as everyone went inside, grabbed Isaris' arm and pulled his mate into a hug. It would make him feel better and he needed that at the moment. Isaris probably needed the hug too.
"That was the most awful part of my whole life." He was glad that the girls had been home. He might be going to jail had they not been.

He sniffled once Dep was settled. There was a soft rumble to the Janarim's sides. This was bad, now that they were calmer. He could see just how badly they actually got him. He knelt by the beast. "Lyco...they nearly killed him." he whispered. "Look at these hits...they are too close..."
He ran his hand around a few gashes. This was bad. He stood up to get the healers kit. This was going to end up with someone vanishing for sure.

He slid to a stop near his brother, his arms full of salve, disinfectant, gauze, gauze pads and bandages. "Yeah it was close but he moved just in time because he is no dummy. The point is they missed." He was trying to sound brave though he saw how close it had been, and he saw what that did to both himself and his brother. "He will be okay, he has to be." Even if Lyco had to hand feed him little chunks of meat on the hour. "Dad will probbaly contact the beast ranch in Matori, they will send a beast healer but we can patch the problems before they get here."

He gasped at the hug. Then buried his face into his mate's shoulder. He sniffled as the emotions hit. "They honestly wanted him dead...what did Dep do? He's protected the village from those blasted spiders...he's done good. Rescued kids."
He whined as he looked up to his mate. He was so hurt by this. Their boy...Dep was like their first kid. He taught Isaris so much about minding little things.

He squeezed his mate tight. "I know, I know, something must needs be done about the bandits. I will go and request the guard to deal with them while I go and request Nin or her sons help with Dep. He is far too important not to call in a specialist. They will send her or one of her sons adept with healing; Ushiwa or Thallassa. Then Dep will have the best chance of making a full recovery. I'm sure the boys are all over him right now." As they should be. He sighed, so many emotions tumbling over each other.

He nodded. Then looked up to their parents outside. "Papa looks upset...I know Dep is old for a beast. He's...well...most likely nearing the end naturally. We should prep for that." he kept his voice low. Then jumped when a tail flop from Dep caused them to look down at the glaring beast. "What?? You know its the truth."

His face matched Deps. "Oh bull, they can live a long time he just might be retired from riding. Don't be so melancholy my brother." He patted Dep's uninjured ankle in support. "Does he look like he has given up the ghost? No? Then neither should we. He might outlive us all." He chuckled and subtley wiped tears from his eyes. Then he want to work cleaning out the wounds which did not win him any popularity contests but it had to be done and it had to be thorough, who knew where the thugs weapons had been.

He inhaled deeply before moving inside to their children. "Thank you boys. Dep needs the help, do not lick that..." he growled as Dep made to lick a wound on his foreleg. "If we don't know the source of the metal...you are not allowed to lick the wounds."
He huffed with Dep as he walked around the beast. Whining softly as he watched his boy get tended to. He check on the two tiny babies who were awake.
