She watched how her son interacted with the girl and gave knowing smile. Of course she also noted the girl's reaction to her question. When Teiluj excused herself she waited until the door was shut before she stepped closer to Lynx. "You couldn't tell me you found a nice girl? I'm not really surprised she has Alk blood either." Thea was practically giddy to learn her son liked someone.
When Teiluj came back out and the beast with her she took a step back, hand's raised to show she wasn't being aggressive, but she did position herself in front of Ry. She trusted Lynx to keep the radaku from doing anything dangerous but still.
"So.. Teiluj. What brings you to Oba?" She didn't spot any trace of Oban or even Matorian linage in the girl, at least not from what she could see in the fading light. "Are you staying long?" Thea was very nosy.

When Ry pouted at him he shook his head. "Not gonna work, Ry." He knew her tricks. After all, he had other younger siblings that had pulled the same thing. Just because she was the baby didn't mean she got away with it.
As Tei excused herself to his room he walked with her over to the door, mostly to make sure she was covered. Once she was behind the door he turned to his family and sighed. "You live to embarrass me, don't you?" Still he smiled fondly at them. Even if they completely humiliated him he'd love them. "I didn't plan to bring her to Matori. It wasn't mentioned in her plans." He shrugged his shoulders at his sister.
When Teiluj came back out and Tao along with her he watched the radaku. "Easy boy. They're friends." He watched the beast to make sure he wasn't going to make a move then looked up at Tei. He noticed her touching her lips so he smirked at her. At least he knew she didn't regret it.
As his mother started asking questions he looked at her with a bit of a warning glare. "Mom.."

Teiluj's heart suddenly felt like it was falling to the floor at the question Lynx's mother had posed. Her body visibly flinching at the question, her eyes wide as saucers. She wasn't prepared to answer that, she had barely been able to skim over it with Lynx without giving away too many details. Her eyes shot up towards the male Hybrid with an almost pleading look before turning back to his mother. She shifted uncomfortably where she stood. She couldn't lie, not to someone who had been so kind to her. Maybe if she was lucky she could get away with just the basic information. Her gaze fell instantly to the floor, unable to meet anyone's gaze.
"I-I came to look for something," Teiluj began. Her arms crossing over her chest trying to reassure herself that the honest way would be the best one. It would have been easier to just admit she was traveling for the experience like her mom. But that would have been a lie. Swallowing down the bile that rose in her throat Teiluj continued. "But when I found the answer... it was... well it's gone."
Shifting her stance, her shoulders dropping a bit while her hands remained around her Teiluj still couldn't meet anyone's gaze. "I don't know how long I'm staying. I--" Teiluj trailed off. If his mother pressed for any more details she feared it would end up hurting Lynx. That he would get the wrong idea. She bit her lower lip. Better honest than dishonest.

She too was interested in what brought the girl to Oba. She didn't look like other Obans. She had pale skin like her grandma so she wondered if she might be from Tale. Of course she didn't say anything. Ry simply listened.
When Teiluj said she'd come looking for something she seemed interested even more. What could be so important that she'd travel so far? Was it far? She'd have to ask her grandmother is Tale was far from Oba. "Oh, what'd you lose?" The words slipped from her mouth quietly. She meant nothing by it and her curiosity was innocent.

She noticed the look she got from Lynx and knew there was something to the story. However, she was surprised to hear Teiluj answer. She watched the girl's body language as she seemed to be almost uncomfortable with the topic. That wasn't a good sign. That meant it was something she wanted to keep hidden.
Thea pressed her lips tightly together as she listened, nodding when Ry posed her own question. It was a mirror to her own thoughts. What was it that Teiluj had been after? "Yes, what was it? Maybe its not gone. I know some people that can find things." Working for the thieves guild had its perks after all. She reached up to trace a finger along the scar over her eye as she thought about the guild. It had cost her a lot over the years. Surely they could find something for her if she asked.
"You don't know how long you're staying or you don't know how long Lynx will let you stay?" Thea wanted to know if the girl was actually sweet to her boy or if she was using him.

He sighed as Teiluj started to tell him mother what she'd told him. He knew she had been looking for something but that it was gone now. He didn't know what it was. He could understand Ry's curiosity. His sister liked to help and she empathized with others. His mother on the other hand likely wanted to know if it was valuable. Being a thief ran in the family so he didn't really get upset with her for asking.
It was the last question that had him glaring at his mother again. "Mother." His tone deepened as he issued the warning. "You will treat her with respect." He didn't like the idea but he did have a blade in the pocket of his pants that he could throw at her. She'd taught him how after all.
Lynx looked at Teiluj with a softer expression. "My mother tends to be nosy but you don't need to answer her."

So they wanted the answeres after all. Closing her eyes Teiluj heaved a sigh. Her head turned away from the two women. "An oban." Teiluj answered rather reluctantly. "An oban by the name of N'kole. I-I... well I was tending to his injuries and..." Teiluj trailed off in into thought. Her eyes opening half way, still looking at the ground. "I traveled here in hopes of possibly finding him, but, what I found was..." Cringing as she paused struggling to keep herself from spilling out.
Her body felt suddenly cold with panic. "He had a woman here... that he was running from. He's... well... that's all gone now." Teiluj muttered. She didn't want to let on just how close she had been with Nicole. Not that anything untoward had happened between them. Nothing to the extent that she had been with Lynx. Nothing that woke her like he did.
Tao gave a whimper from where he sat. Teiluj finally looked up at the older woman. She had a right to ask that question. "How long he will let me stay." Teiluj answered without hesitation. She wasn't using him for anything. Feeling already guilty that she had allowed herself to be taken in by him.
Her antenna flicked with insecurity. "I owe Lynx an awful lot. I'm not even sure I could even repay him." Her eyes flicked up at Lynx then away again. "I know I don't have to answer, but I'd rather be honest about everything. Because..." Teiluj hesitated again her eyes raising to meet Theas.
"Because I want to stay with him, and repay him for all that he's done. No matter what it takes to repay him." Teiluj froze in place as the words tumbled out of her. Shivering against the night air. There. Everything was in the open now. All she could do was to wait for Lynx's response. It was the male hybrid who would determine the next path she would find herself on.

Ry was still young, barely a teen, but she paid attention to her siblings and learned a lot more than she likely should have. Considering who her siblings were and all.. So when Teiluj said she'd been looking for an Oban she blinked once. When it was mentioned that the hybrid girl had discovered said Oban had a woman here.. well, she put it together. "You were in love with him.." She spoke softly again.
Of course she looked from Teiluj to her brother then back. Her expression changing from understanding to slightly upset. She'd admitted that she wasn't sure how long she'd be staying since it depended on when Lynx decided it was enough. "... Lynx.. kick her out." She narrowed her eyes at Tei. "Kick her out now." Her voice got a fraction louder. "She's using you and from the looks of it when mom and I got here she was offering herself to pay you back."
When her mother glared at her she huffed and looked away. Ry couldn't help it. She loved her siblings and while she might be shy normally she tended to have sharp talons when it came to family.

She nodded her head as she listened to Teiluj. "I'm sorry it didn't work out. Feelings are tricky." And they can get quite messy when someone else is involved. "It sucks that you had to come all the way here to find that out." Still, it brought her to Lynx so it couldn't be all bad.
Then she gave the answer about her stay. Thea nodded. It must be hard not knowing how long she was welcome but if she knew her son then he'd let her stay for as long as she needed. She was about to say something when she heard her daughter speak up. The fact that Ry's voice had gotten louder was interesting, even more so her words. At first she was curious as to why her daughter wanted Lynx to kick the girl out but the words that followed caused her to turn and glare at Ry.
While she could understand her daughter's feelings it wasn't their decision to make. Lynx was a big boy and he could manage on his own. Even if she didn't agree with some things.

He didn't know that the thing she'd come to find was a man. Though from the sounds of it things hadn't gone as planned. He gave Teiluj a reassuring smile. She was brave for telling his mother the answer since she really didn't have to. He'd never had feelings for anyone before so he couldn't relate but that didn't mean he didn't understand. Hurt feelings were hurt feelings. Those took time to heal. "I don't know the guy but he clearly lost something valuable."
When his sister called his name he turned his head to look at her, brows raised in question. "Hm?" But what she said had him furrowing his brow in confusion. Until she got to the last part. Clearly their mother gave her a look but it wasn't enough.
"Ryshanion! That's enough." He took a deep breath as he reached up with one hand to rub at his face. A sigh escaped him as he dropped his hand back down to his side. He could see how his baby sister might come to that conclusion. "First of all.. Teiluj didn't do what you're thinking. She has been staying in my room while I stay in Iexa's. Tonight would have been no different had you not spooked her with the window." He motioned toward his room for emphasis. "She came to me to feel safe but she didn't stop to grab her clothes." He understood that Tei wouldn't have come to him otherwise. A moment of weakness perhaps.
"You will apologize to her Ryshanion or you will not be allowed here again." He scolded his sister.

Teiluj flinched as his baby sister spoke. She was right, she had found herself having feelings for the man. Even if it was all in vain in the end. The words that followed cut deep into the pale hybrid. Her eyes looking directly at Ry. Was she right? Was she really just using Lynx? Had she overstayed her welcome unknowingly? Did she need to leave. She didn't want to leave.
"I don't regret running to Lynx " Teiluj mumbled. "I..." rubbing her arm Teiluj jumped as Lynx responded to his sister in kind. Her golden eyes flicked from brother to sister. Taking a step back and away from the family. The memories of moments before sent another rush of tingles across her body.
"No, no, no. It's okay she doesn't need to appologize it's obvious that she cares so much about you Lynx. You're so lucky to have them." Another step back. She refused to be a burden on anyone. "That's not quite true, Lynx has got this pull about him I just can't resist." Teiluj stumbled a little, she didn't regret the moment that had been shared between them. "I'm sorry I've caused such distress. I... I should..." Teiluj turned to look back at her belongings.

She jumped when she heard her name from Lynx. They all used the shortened versions of their name so the full one made her feel uneasy. She felt like she was in trouble. She looked from Lynx to their mother then finally to Teiluj. She watched as the girl seemed to shrink back from them, not even trying to fight to stay with Lynx. It only made her think that she had been right about the girl.
"No one would regret running to Lynx.." She mumbled under her breath. Her brother would protect anyone if they needed it. Both Lynx and Iexa had a way of making people feel safe.
Ry turned her head away but she did say she was sorry. It wasn't very believable though.

Hearing her son yell at his sister was different. It made her look at them both before she sighed. Shouldn't she be the one that gives the lectures. "Lynx, be nice. She's just worried about you." However she did look at Ry expectantly. Thea did think she owed Teiluj an apology for that. And Lynx's explanation of what happened made sense. Not to mention she'd never known Lynx to lie.
As Teiluj seemed to be backing away from them she raised a single brow at her. "Don't mind them Teiluj, they're siblings, they fight." She waved it off but she did watch the way the girl looked at her things. "If Lynx says you can stay then there is no reason to leave. If you are drawn to him then go with it. I haven't seen anything from him that says he's uncomfortable with you."
Thea looked at Lynx with a look. "I'm going to guess you feel protective over her, otherwise she wouldn't be here." With a grin she looked at the hybrid girl in the doorway. "You should have him bring you to hour home in Matori. You'd like it."

"She does need to apologize." Lynx wasn't going to move on that one. He'd told Teiluj that so long as he was around she would be treated with respect and he meant that. Even if he had to yell at his own family.
While Ry did say sorry he felt it was lacking and he felt his eye twitch a little. Younger siblings were a pain sometimes. He looked at his mother as she spoke but found himself rolling his eyes. Yeah, siblings argued. It had been really bad when Zasha had been younger. Lynx turned his attention back to Teiluj as she looked at her things.
He watched her for a moment before he spoke up. "You don't have to leave but I won't make you stay if you wish to leave." He hadn't made her do anything she didn't want to do and he wasn't about to start. "But if it helps you make a decision.. I like having you here."
He pointedly ignored his mother. He wasn't about to address her comments. That would basically be admitting that he had some feelings for the beautiful woman in front of him. Lynx honestly wasn't sure he was ready to say that in front of people yet. Mostly because he didn't know how she felt.

"Matori?" Teiluj released her arms from around her body. Her eyes moved back to Lynx his voice jarred some sense back into her. He liked having her here? Was it as much as she liked being here? Teiluj relaxed, "I want to stay." She found herself once again repeating those words. "With you." Her eyes holding firm on Lynx.
Her face burning as she spoke so boldly. What was once an extremely rare occurrence was becoming a bit more common this evening. Her voice growing louder. "I want to stay by you, Lynx!" Her hands balled adamantly into fists. Her eyes shot towards Ry. "And for your information, I'm still very much whole. I haven't given my body away to anyone for anything. And I won't start now. I'll make it up to Lynx through honest means!" Her voice moved from quite loud to a barely audible whisper. "But if he asks for children I'd give them to him."
