Salem fought to get any inch he could closer to the ropes, but Nuke's seasoned experience held him back! The fans clapped for Salem to keep fighting, though, and not one to disappoint, "Showtime" tried to instead twist his hips and walk Nuke backward onto his own shoulders, trying to suffer through the submission while laying Fusion back for a pin!

Nuke had it locked in.. or did he? The pinfall attempt was in and the ref began his count, giving Fusion less than three seconds to decide what to do.
One!
Could he transition this to another submission?
Two!
Perhaps he could roll this back to where he was before?
Th-
Nuke releases the submission and turns his shoulder before the three count, leaving Salem free from the hold!

The referee was making the count, each second increasing the agony in Salem's jaw, but "The Copperhead" had to endure! Just before the third count, however, Nuke relinquished the hold, setting "Showtime" free! But the pain had sharpened Salem's fangs, and the serpent immediately slithered to swallow up Nuke with a Guillotine Choke, trying to sink it in with both men laying flat on the mat!

Honestly, Nuke had been quite pleased with how Salem had managed to counter out of his own submissions. But that meant he really didn't expect one coming back his way, as Salem was able to slither over and start wrapping himself around Fusion.
The beginning of a submission from Salem, and one that was known to take people out!

Salem had succeeded in locking in his signature Anaconda Coil, a laid-out Guillotine that wrenched at the air and blood vessels of his opponent! But it wasn't ending there, as "The Copperhead" began to twist around the ring with his Choke sunk in, using his body's torque to add exponentially more pressure to Nuke's neck and head as the crowd went wild!

Nuke suddenly felt the life being squeezed right from within him, as Salem locked himself and twisted, really drawing that life force out. He tried to stay where he was initially, but the way that he was locked in it really wasn't going to work well for him. It was at that point that the Nuclear God decided to relax his body a little and move with the submission, trying to hold on and think of a way out of this.

The audience was audibly audacious, going crazy in their seats for this battle between two of the best in wrestling boots! The choke sunk in deep, Salem continued adding pressure and torque to Nuke's head and neck with his gator-like death roll, trying to make the legend pass out!

The ref watched closely as Salem kept the hold in place, and also noticed that Nuke has seemingly stopped resisting and was maybe going limp from the hold. He dropped to the mat to check it over, as Nuke had his eyes closed.
That's when he grabbed Fusion's wrist and checked, once, and it fell towards the mat. He called over to the time keepers.
One!
The ref then grabbed the same wrist and carried out the same maneuver, lifting up the wrist and letting it fall.. and it did again.
Two!
This was the final time, where Salem may pick up the win. The ref looked over the Uncrowned Champion one last time, grabbed Nuke's wrist and lifted it in to the air. As he let go, the entire crowd were ready to watch Croft crowned the champion of the match. But Nuke's wrist stayed where it was!
Suddenly, he opened his eyes and went to roll with Salem, looking to get his feet to the nearest ropes!

Salem thought he had secured a victory, but Nuke was resilient still, defying the third arm raise and starting to roll towards the ropes with a renewed strength! Surprised by Fusion's own efforts to twist in the submission, Salem struggled to keep the man's legs from reaching the cables!

Nuke stretches out his leg as far as he can, as his toes reach the bottom rope!
The ref calls for Salem to break the hold, as a large section of the crowd cheer for the Uncrowned Champion, and the technical masterpiece on show.

Salem thought he could keep enough separation between Nuke and the ropes to prevent a break, but the bona fide Hall-of-Famer managed to get the tip of a toe onto the bottom cable! The referee came in, counting to make Salem release the Guillotine! One!
Two!
Three!
Four!
Holding on until just before the five count, "Showtime" sought to do the most he could to wear Nuke out, releasing his grip finally in disbelief he hadn't finished the match with it! Getting to his feet, Salem stood next to Nuke and started to try and pull him up, looking to get the man on a vertical base!

Nuke at this point had broken the hold, but in the short-term was a little rocked and out of it from the pressure that submission put on him. Salem was able to bring him slowly up to his feet, with not much fight there from Fusion in that particular moment.

At this point, a figure makes his way out on the stage, a black cane with a marbled handle in hand. Adrian Amaya makes his way down to ringside, curiously observing the action in the ring, but ends up sitting at the announcer's table, quickly taking up the conveniently placed third headset
JR: Ladies and gentlemen, it looks like we'll be joined by the newly appointed manager of the Syndicate and right hand man of the World heavyweight champion, Adrian Amaya.
King: Welcome Adrian, what brings you out here?
Adrian: I'm simply out here doing some scouting. After all, later tonight, Salem has a tag title match against my boys, and it's in my interest to check on the state of Nuke Fusion

Salem was preparing to set Nuke up for one of his patented Pikey Spike DDTs, but the "Gypsy Savage" took notice of someone unannounced coming down the ramp! Squinting a little, Salem suspected he'd seen the man before - then memory kicked in, recollection telling him he was affiliated with the Damone Family, someone he'd seen in passing while rehabbing with them, but never really talked to. Adonis, was it? Adrian? Suddenly Salem's attention was disrupted by this new intervention on commentary!

Nuke stopped and watched as a man he had never seen before came down to the ring.. was this some kind of set up from Salem? No, surely he wouldn't do something like that. I mean, Salem was one of the good guys, everyone knew that.
No, Salem seemed distracted, almost like he recognised the man but wasn't sure why he was out here either. Wait, this was it, the perfect distraction. Nuke moved towards the ropes, bouncing off and looking to chop the back of Salem's knee with a classic knee chop!
