“Ah, yes. Do they have fish or vegetable stew?” Nasrin asked the server who nodded. “I’ll take some smoked fish and you can bring out jam for my bread please.” She did enjoy something sweet and fruity. Nasrin did avoid meat for the most part though since she was more accustomed to a diet of fish and vegetables. “So you both travel often then?” She found herself asking as they settled in at their table and waited on food.

“We do.” Katori nodded as she settled back into her chair. “We stayed in Zena for most of our childhood and ventured into Sauti for festivals since it was nearby. When we got old enough we picked up the family habit of traveling and have been roaming the countryside ever since. Mother runs a sanctuary and we bring back injured animals to help them recover before releasing them again. Mostly locals bring their familiars but you never know when some poacher or something has caused trouble.” Katori shrugged. “I honestly just enjoy the adventure. I don’t blame my family for having such wanderlust.”

“That’s what Taaru told me.” Replied Nasrin after listening to Katori’s explanation. “It sounds wonderful being able to just see the world while doing what you can to help others. I’m studying healing so I’ve been able to help Taaru out more while we travel. The last year in Matori was nice but I’m ready to see what else the world has to offer.” As the server gave them their teas the girl curled her fingers around the mug, the warmth soaking into her fingers.

“Sounds like you’ll fit in with everyone then.” Katori thanked the server before raising her cup to her lips and blowing at the steam. “We can be a bit energetic at times but everyone means well. I truly hope you like it there.” She carefully took a sip before sitting the cup back down and studying Nasrin for another moment. “So how in love are you?” She found herself blurting, her lips curling up into a mischievous grin.

“I hope so.” Nasrin replied before taking a sip and nearly spitting her tea back out. Who asked something like that so openly?! Nasrin’s face nearly melted with how badly she flushed. “I….I…do I have to answer that?” She pleaded with embarrassment. Taaru certainly would be able to gush about it, but Nasrin suddenly felt so shy. “I truly adore him.” She finally managed before looking away shyly. “I’m glad that we could meet each other and I’m even going to Zena with him.”

Katori chuckled. “I’m sorry.” Not really, but she would at least try to apologize. “I’m happy that my brother found someone though. You seem sweet and I really hope everything works out for you both.” Not like she would ever be able to settle down but the thought was nice. Katori started to say something else before the server brought over their food. “Saved by the meal.” She teased before tearing her roll and dipping it into the stew.

“Thank you.” Nasrin could only shake her head at the other girl’s antics before focusing on her meal. “The food is good.” She murmured after taking a few bites. The jam that they brought for the rolls was perfect too. She would have to learn the local fruits so that she could make her own once they were in Zena though it sounded like this Zyphire character had things covered.

“Right?” Katori smiled as she continued eating, giving Nasrin some quiet finally after making her so flustered. Honestly Katori had so many questions rolling around in her mind but she realized that they would have plenty more chances to discuss things especially if they were both headed into Zena. “Once you finish up we can check you into a room. I’m sure Taaru will come here once he gets back.”

Nasrin focused on her meal, enjoying the silence that Katori gave her. While she also had a flurry of questions the girl wanted to take her time and not rush into everything. If Katori wanted she could keep talking but if not they could always talk later. Nasrin had the feeling the other girl would be sticking around now that she was heading towards the sanctuary with Taaru. It seemed a family reunion was going to be in order soon enough. “That sounds good. I’m glad I ran into you.” She admitted. “I may have gotten lost without the help.”

A chuckle left Katori’s lips. “I’m glad to hear that. I can help you carry things upstairs and maybe we can spend some more time together if that’s alright.” She smiled as Nasrin nodded her agreement. “Great! Let’s finish up here and then I’ll help you with your belongings.”
