The amazonian spider Faunus would wait patiently, honoring that this was a duel now. Though she hated to let a villain leave, her people's code was more important to her at this time. It was no secret that she would. All eyes were on the tall male parallel to herself as she awaited his response to the councilwoman's proposal. Though his request was simple, she seemed to frown, almost offended in her serious expression. "I shall do no such thing. As a member of the Clan Spidera, to cry for help in a duel would be dishonorable," The Spider lady would reply with dead seriousness. She did not miss his glowing eyes or that they had stopped doing so, but she would not comment on it either. "So, I'm to start," She assessed mentally. Bowing her head to her opponent in respect.

As promised, she would not make it easy. He however would not make it easy for her as well. Engaging her enemy, she would use the fire and lightning dust attack from the thrown fan before charging in, beginning their deadly dance. Her shield was the thorn in his plans, she knew and it was why she kept it close. In close quarters, when opportunity fancied her, she would bash her opponent's nose though it would not break it. The fire in his cold eyes told her she struck a nerve as he'd attempted more than once to disarm her of it. Frowning in thought, his last attack had her making the choice to release it or else suffer an injury she would not enjoy. Bashing him away, she would jump back to disengage without the shield, only suffering a less severe cut to the shoulder. The spider's eyes flashed with fiery determination and anger as she would be forced to defend with her sai. A fatal error left her side open for an attack before backing off.

She would glare at the man that had dealt a fatal if, slow-killing blow.
"You won this one," Her eyes said, though it was clear she was not happy about it as she stumbled back to the fountain they had moved towards in their dance. Smiling ruefully, she knew she was on borrowed time and didn't intend to waste it. Her scroll in her hand she speed-dialed her family as she said. A young female voice called out: "Mommy? When are you coming home?" It was clear she had to bite back tears and composed herself after a count of three. "I'm sorry, love. I'm afraid I won't be able to make it...something came up." Arachne responded, her voice surprisingly calm as she pushed away the dizziness. She refused to cry as she patiently listened to her daughter's disappointment, as it meant she would not see her violin performance. Her right hand's nails would begin to dig into her leg as she struggled with composure, and to keep her heart from breaking. Smiling somberly, she refused to show any more pain in front of her killer. "I know, I'm sorry, my spiderling. Mommy wishes she could see it." Arachne responded, the smallest of quivers in her tone near the end before she took a subtle breath, hearing her eldest children as well, saying that they hoped she was okay. How she hated not saying anything but, she would waste no more time; as she felt it was slipping away. "I know, I wish I could be there with you all. Mind your father, and know that I love you, all, very much...Until we meet again, my loves." She nearly cried when she heard their affirmations of love in return; a deep male's voice would respond goodnight my darling before she would hang up. The weakness from her blood-loss taking over as her scroll would sink into the fountain before she would slide down. Turning her gaze, blurred as it was, to her killer, she would smile a silent thank you. Her eyes closed tears delicately fell, her spider appendages would curl in and rest around her human body like spindly bindings as she exhaled her last breath.

"You are hardly in a position to make requests, or deny my challenge. Even requesting I restrict my routes of attack so that you may still speak if I were to prevail. But so be it; I accept your terms on the condition that you do not try anything. On the slightest suspicion you call for help, they will hear your death," he would respond with a calm smile to his lips. Her condition meant he would need to mostly paralyze and target her other limbs; or hit a major organ that will give her some minutes to live. She was choosing a more painful death, which suited him well enough. He also had ideas now, but that would come much later. He could see she was calm now, prepared for her end, though she seemed to be expecting him to make a last wish. He merely shook his head, smile still to his lips as his vambrace dagger was unsheathed. "My only request is that you don't make this too easy, Arachnid. An assassin has long come to terms with their own death,"

Ghost equipment: Vambrace, Crossbow (5 bolts, 1 wind dust bolt loaded)(off ghost), 2 smoke bombs, one sword (From his profile). Small dust: 1 Yellow, 1 White, and 1 green. Large dust: 1 Blue.

When she countered that as a member of clan Spidera she would do no such thing, Ghost would just give a shrug with a smile to her. A silent expression of 'Can't blame me for verifying' kind of deal. In truth, he knew little of her clan or their ways. She wasn't his main target at the moment; outside the purge that is at least. She was a bonus, and one she would likely need to silence in future regardless. So he had yet to study up on her as much as he had with the Yatomura family. 'I am the one taking all the risk here, not you,' he thought to himself. Sure, both of them were betting their lives; but he was the one making the match more even and fair by allowing this duel and final requests. She would then bow to him, and help begin this duel to the death. At the very least, she did not disappoint in making this duel interesting and didn't go down easily. Her shield was his bane in this fight; something he would have to strive to work to prevent in the future. She would attack at range with dust-laced fans and Ghost with dust-infused bolts from his crossbow. When close up, it would be a flurry of dagger and sai attacks along with the annoying shield bashes and blocks. She was particularly good at striking his face unfortunately; his aura at least prevented her from breaking a nose or anything there though his aura did not last long. It was already severely weakened by her semblance; a constant timer to him on how long he had to finish this fight. Eventually, a counter came to mind for how to deal with the shield; while good at defending range and her front, it became very awkward from behind or on her opposite side. Using a bit of his parkour skills, he would shift his focus to those angles and force her to choose as they fought; take a hit to keep the shield or discard it in favor of avoiding injury.

Finally, as she stubbornly held it for a while with his new strategy (likely realizing how important it was), he would get her to discard it to save herself from worse injury. At this stage both their aura's were spent; it was a test of skill and who could land the fatal blow first. As they fought, Ghost was impressed a bit with her skill in it and came to a decision to end it. As she struck with her Sai, he would intercept it with his free hand as it cut in and blood flowed...but at the same time he would hold it to deliver a blow of his own to her exposed left side. Gritting his teeth and letting out a hiss of pain, he would push through it to achieve his goal. As an assassin and versed in anatomy, he made the opening count; hitting hit right where a certain organ was. Blood would flow from the wound immediately, and he would back away; pulling injured hand loose from the sai. His wounded hand was shaking and throbbing in pain but he left it alone for the moment and bore through the pain. Looking to his opponent as her eyes confirmed it; she was dying. She would stumble back to the fountain, and Ghost would wait. He would respect her final request of their duel, and allow her to make the call.

'I should've just killed her,' he thought as he was forced to hear the conversation. This was something he avoided with his targets; no attachments, no humanizing. Just a simple target to end. That was how you worked as an assassin. Once you started humanizing and sympathizing with your target, you hesitate. You consider their lives, who their death affects, and you become vulnerable. It was easy to kill when your target was antagonizing, unknown, just a face on a paper and trying to kill you. It was much different when you saw them for what they were. To the woman's credit, she said nothing of her imminent death nor gave any sign of it. She acted as if she were just held up by business, despite the chance to warn or call for help. Ghost's eyes were emotionless as he watched her finish the call, and slump down; dropping the scroll in the fountain in the process. She would then turn her gaze to him...and smile to him. "You were a worthy opponent...and your family will be safe," Ghost would say as her eyes began to close with tears streaming down them. A tear coming to his own briefly as he watched her final moments; spider legs closing in around her like a dead arachnid. 'I should've just killed her,' he repeated to himself even if he did not truly mean it. He would adjust her body so that it was laying down, arms crossed over her, with sais in her hand; to show she had died fighting. He would collect her two war fans as a trophy and remembrance of the fight before he would depart into the night; his hunt over.

Ghost equipment: Vambrace, Crossbow (0 bolts), 2 smoke bombs, one sword (From his profile).
