Orias, Guardian Cat

"Ohhhhh Reginaaaaaaaald," a scrappy-looking boy in time-lost clothing called in a singsong voice, wending his way through the various groups of people that kept popping into existence out of nowhere.

The young man moved with an unnatural grace, calmly vaulting over rotting piles of wood to avoid cutting through the crowd and finally easily leaping to alight on the edge of a low thatched rooftop. Dropping into an relaxed seated position with one leg dangling lazily in the open air, the glamoured Mauvian's arm disappeared up to the elbow into nothingness. One thing Orias could always count upon was the reliability of his subspace pocket. At least those augmentations had been worth it, anyway.

A few moments later the rest of the boy's arm reappeared, now gripping a frosty bottle of his favorite vice and an opener. A practiced flick and the bottle cap spun away to the desiccated ground below, allowing a pleasing plume of chilled air to snake its way up from the neck of the drink and into the waiting twitching nose of its imminent imbiber.

"Perfection," Orias sighed, taking a hearty swig and exhaling icy breath in contentment.

He didn't seem overly bothered or surprised by his current circumstances, but such things did tend to happen often in Destiny City. No sense in losing one's mind over it. After all, whenever random teleportation occurred he could be certain that his bonded senshi would be along for the ride. The large man was like a beacon for anything unnatural and distasteful to him. The Mauvian was certain being teleported into a spooky Halloween special would be right up there on his list of unnatural distasteful things, he just hadn't found Athalia yet.

"Reginaaaaaaaaaaaaaaald!" he called again over the heads of the crowd, swigging away at his beer until the last dregs had been drained.

Tossing the empty bottle to the ground in a carefree manner, Orias slowly swung his hanging leg back and forth. Now where was that man? Probably bossing people around. Where was the biggest group of sheeple then? Sly, clever amber eyes narrowed and continued to search while mirth sparkled across them.

Lt. Goethite

The mist had come upon Goethite suddenly, swirling in from all directions just as he'd finished draining his latest unfortunate victim in the secluded alleyway near a nightclub. His disdain for skulking about like a common criminal had distracted him, a foolish mistake. He'd heard gossip about strange happenstance in the city during this time of year when passing by other Negaverse agents, yet had still allowed himself to be surrounded. One could rationalize that coming to grips with his new duties required more concentration than he'd first thought, but Asher Mordricksson was not one to explain away his failings.

So it was that the lieutenant materialized in an unknown dilapidated village ringed by the same mystical fog. Typical. Making a quick tactical decision, the young man absorbed the energy he'd just finished stealing and exhaled slightly at the rush of power. Still a foreign feeling, though not unwelcome. In this possibly hostile situation the harvest might have gone to waste otherwise, and Goethite would always get more. He simply had to reconcile his location first.

Stepping around the corner of the hut by which he'd come to rest, the agent followed the sound of voices carrying oddly on the fetid still air. Negaverse... and White Moon. Uniforms, though there were some civilians about as well.

Likely unpowered soldiers, Goethite thought, quickly making mental note of everyone he didn't see in typical garb.

The more knowledge he had, the more suited he would be for future combat. After all, even unpowered Order zealots could be dangerous. More relevant to his current situation was information about the village. Where was this? Most everyone seemed to be chattering away and finding familiar faces, a futile exercise with which the lieutenant didn't bother himself. He had no one he counted as a friend among his comrades-in-arms and he wasn't about to start searching for one now.

While they would undoubtedly be asking one another if they knew what was going on, one glance at the gathering as a whole revealed that everyone was just as clueless as one another. No, what he needed now was reconnaissance. For a moment he thought a boy seated on a rooftop had had the same idea, but now that same kid was lazily drinking what looked like beer and calling out to someone while advertising their position to anyone or anything that might be lurking about in the mist.

"Fool," Goethite muttered, quickly working his way to the last line of huts that formed the perimeter of the village.

There was a stretch of what looked like empty plain beyond, and in one direction lay a foreboding forest full of dead trees. Likewise, the grass of the plain was brittle and lifeless. Far in the distance the mist that had ferried him thusly swirled ominously. In short... there wasn't much to be gleaned from observation at the moment. The Negaverse agent leaned against the nearest house, face grim with thought.

Perhaps the forest? He wasn't sure, but it seemed like true darkness would be falling soon. It wouldn't be especially wise to venture into a closed, likely hostile environment such as that when his vision would be impaired. Perhaps the homes themselves held some clues as to what fate had befallen the village. Most such settlements had their most important buildings near the center, so that's where Goethite headed. Visage a mask of purpose and concentration, he hardly spared a glance for those he passed as he worked his way back into the village.

Captain Wolframite

The Half-youma Captain had left Laven after their short trip in the woods and set off to investigate one of the many groups around them. As he neared a large gathering, he spotted people on roofs, guardians darting about, and a collection of all factions milling around in the same kind of tense confusion that a unwanted pull of teleporting magic would garner.

There was at least one person that Wolframite spotted and walking slowly over, he set a large paw on the man's shoulder. "General. Fancy seeing you here."

Arthur the Humanoid Guardian Cat

Arthur was irked. He had been having a nice conversation outside a 7-11 and was waiting for a young lady to grab a pen from her bike satchel for her number when the fog that was rolling around up and snatched him. Now he had been left standing in the woods holding his plastic bag looking very confused. The fact there was so many signatures around was dizzying.

Tail bristling inside his jeans, he looked around for some sort of culprit but the volume of conversation usually meant this wasn't anyone here to blame.

"Cruel fate. Why won't you just let me hook up?" He grumbled as he walked over to the group.

General Benitoite

Surprise was the first thing to register in the General as he had a large paw dropped onto his shoulder. Turning at the voice he felt a smile curl his lips upward. "Captain, a pleasure to see you here as well. Seeing you here makes me feel better about whatever nonsense has brought us here." To where exactly he wasn't sure. He was however pleased to know he had Wolframite here with him, at least he knew what the others skill level was.

"Have you seen anything of interest around here yet?" Assuming the other may have already taken the time to investigate the place a bit. "Or shall we take a look now? We'll need to figure out a safe place to keep as well as food if we're staying here a while." Even a short while, who knew how long planning an escape might take considering how little they knew, food would soon become a need no doubt. It would be good to start getting things figured out so they could then focus on a way out of here.

Though he wasn't the only General here, he'd spotted another one or two, he wasn't planning to seek them out. He didn't know them and while they were on the same side of things he still didn't know them, and didn't know what they could and could not do. He would have tried to make a group, using those he'd met over his years of fighting, but here was Wolframite and the general knew the other. Even in a different form he knew what the Captain could do.

"We might wind up needing to spill some blood in order to get out of here. I don't exactly like the feelings of this place." Something was off, more than usual for this time of year. He didn't like this place one bit.

Captain Wolframite

"I haven't noticed anything. Just a strange sense of the woods. Like being watched. Laven is with me as well. I left her at the cabin we found was stable." He said, gesturing behind him to indicate a place that was safe should the officer need a place too. "It has more room, but it isn't very warm. She is gathering wood for a fire. Wasn't much interested in a crowd so I'm on scouting duty." He said with a smile.

"As for spilling blood, I would love to - but..." He looked around, noticing it wasn't just the Negavesre here after all, and leaned in. "Got shot a few times recently. They fixed me up, but if I really go at it, I'm going to tear my stitches. And I don't think there are any doctors around here." He whispered.

"Sorry I can't be of much use aside from a scout and a rather slow one at that."

"I think, if you and Laven don't mind, house with you both. We should try and find anyone else that may be useful." Anyone else who could help ensure they all made it out of this place intact. He was sure they'd leave with some injuries, he had little doubt there, but he did want to get out of this alive

Listening to the others whispered words his head nodded. Well, that would change some things a bit but he still wouldn't turn away from the Captain. "That's fine, I'll do the blood spilling and you can grab whatever energy we can. I'm sure something will try and attack at some point." And energy would help Wolframite in recouping. "I tried teleporting upon …arrival - I can't." Which he liked to use as a tactic in a fight.

"Scouting is fine, we'll need that as well. We'll need a lot I'm figuring...a place to stay, food and then information so we know what we're working with." He didn't want to be in the blind for longer than need be, especially knowing the other was also injured. He wasn't going to risk making things worse.

Captain Wolframite

"Of course. Frankly, the more people in our cabin, the better I feel. If anything should attack is at night, having more backup and eyes out will help get us out of wherever this is eventually." And he wanted to be sure there were more people helping keep Laven safe while he wasn't at top form.

"Our cabin didn't seem to have any signs of who might have loved here. Haven"t notice any signs of what this place is called. Even small cabins usually had a sign post or address. I haven't seen anything else through the most, and I can't teleport either. Seeing as Senshi are here, seems this thing doesn't care who it pulls in right now." He said as he looked about.

"Whatever or Whoever is doing this will show up at some point. We just need to keep watch for when it does."

With that, he continued to scan the crowd. "See anyone other allies you trust?"

A Dark Mirror closed in upon them and Athalia afforded him a quick glance, given he seemed to know Metis it didn't seem entirely appropriate to do anything untowards at this moment in time. Instead he merely glanced towards Metis and lifted his eyebrow in question. For all that Chaos had done to her as of late, what could have possessed her to be at ease or on familiar terms with one who radiated with the same aura?

...Even if he was ever so slightly different in comparison.

"You will find no objections here," Athalia agreed. Chaos or not, a truce was necessary in the given circumstances as Athalia wasn't so sure he could handle this alone. For all he knew, whatever trickery was afoot might well need their dose of darkness to weaken it. He didn't necessarily like the idea of that, but he would sooner he and his companions got out alive.

With his greetings made and Elsa left to Metis's attentions for now, he gave a nod to Pasithee and offered a warm smile. He might have been tall and his face may have been permanently stuck in a 'grump' in almost every instance, that didn't mean that he needed to be feared. Well, it was safe to say he didn't need to be feared by anyone on his side, others might disagree in regards to the rest!

"A pleasure, Pasithee," he offered. "I would have preferred to meet you in kinder circumstances but it seems the City never likes to do things the normal way, does it?" he mused.

No sooner had he spoken those words though than he heard a rather familiar voice and rolled his eyes, a cursory glance over his shoulder confirmed his suspicions.

Fortunately, it was Namielle who provided a response to the rather exhuberant individual who had taken to the rooftops.

"You won't find no Reginalds here!" she howled back at Orias, paws upon her hips as she gazed upwards towards him and wrinkled her nose. It seemed that on this occasion one of the Mauvians had gotten stuck in their humanoid glamour, but it was safe to say his damn personality was easy enough to recognise for her. "Now get down from there before you get hurt, I ain't strapping no broken legs, I'll make you crawl!" she warned with a wave of one paw.

A despairing glance was thrown to both Bernard and Realta, for Bernard it was more apologetic as he had yet to meet this particular individual...for Realta is was more of a recognition of what was to come. Things never went well when Orias arrived, generally speaking they worked out, but something nonsensical tended to occur no matter how many rules were followed!

"Just for the record I'm not burying him if he dies, that's too much effort, he did this to himself," she added to no one in particular.

The Mauvian thoroughly preoccupied, it was Athalia who noted Spica's approach. While he didn't know what conversation might have occurred between her and the Negaverse, her presence would be welcomed in his circle, even if it was getting a little busy and fairly loud!

"Considering all things I'd be willing to deal with senshi and knights in the same cabin as us. The more the better and magic may come in handy." And allow them to put weapons to use, or at least him, it could help them in defending themselves should they need it.

"Somehow I'm not surprised by the lack of information for us to glean." Though it did annoy him to a degree. They needed information and the more the better. This place wasn't going to help them, of course, and it displeased him that they'd have to work hard for even simple things. "Mmm, I've no doubt they'll turn up...likely at the worst possible time for the lot of us." He added ion with a shake of his head. Taking the time to look around at everyone gathered.

"Should we grab a guardian cat? Block energy signatures and better hearing than us?"? He questioned as he saw a few cats around. One of them could be useful to them. "That way you can rest and not have to worry about being on guard and listening for things."

"Other than a cat I'm unsure. I can't say that I know anyone else here to the point of knowing how useful they'd be. Perhaps if anyone has medical knowledge, even if it's just basic, and should we grab the other two generals? Or perhaps grab the dark mirror senshi?" A cat would be nice...but which one?

General Jet

Jet thought bat s**t crazy was a bit of an exaggeration, but it was true that he didn’t like senshi. At least White Moon senshi. He’d had the unfortunate luck to recruit civilians into the Negaverse who all turned out to be senshi. While those on their side weren’t all that horrible, he was not inclined to make friends or play nice with any other senshi, including those Dark Mirror ones.

Although Jet didn’t look away from the senshi, he nodded in response to Geocronite. He couldn’t say he was all that comfortable about it being a pleasure to meet him. Aquamarine, despite his lack of motivation and poor attitude about the Negaverse, would make for a much better General than himself, Jet was sure. Aquamarine at least held himself like a General. Jet had never really felt connected to the rank, but did his best to do his duty for the Negaverse while keeping a low profile.

Luckily he was able to distract himself with the senshi in front of them, his own expression shifting into something of a dark smile.

“If you don’t have anything against the Negaverse, then why not join us? Unlike the White Moon, we actually have a structure, a… family if you will. You can’t trust any of your own kind to be there for you when you need them,” Jet pointed out to the senshi as she turned to walk away. “Trust me. Watch what they do when things get rough here.”

Eternal Corrupted Kamacite

Kamacite tensed as a knight approached him. He couldn’t risk getting into a fight here when there were so many others around. But her question surprised him a little. Despite the fact that he was definitely not a kid, his eyes narrowed slightly as though trying to determine what her motivation was for talking to him.

“Maybe not,” he responded against his better judgement, although he did take a step back from her. Was he going to have a panic attack? Probably depended on what else happened in the near future. If she tried to attack him or that fog came again, or something worse, then probably.

“Thank you,” Kamacite added out of habit, tightening the dark fabric over his shoulders. If she left, maybe that would deter others from approaching too. He was still trying to assess the situation and figure out how long they might all be stuck there.

General Aquamarine

“Ew, don’t offer to recruit her,” Aquamarine said, speering Jet with a look that clearly said, ‘I can’t believe you would do something so vile right in front of me.’ “You don’t need more Senshi reporting to you.”

Since they had an audience of one Captain whose loyalty — or lack thereof — Aquamarine could not be sure of, he kept the rest of his complaints about the structure of the Negaverse and the family bullshit to himself. What structure? The Negaverse was a ******** of incompetence as far as Aquamarine was concerned, and certainly nothing close to a family. Family didn’t throw you out onto the streets with a bullshit weapon and wipe their hands of you. Not a good family, anyway. Maybe a cruel, dysfunctional one, but that didn’t make for a good recruitment spiel.

Come join us. You’re nothing more than a pawn and you’ll probably die and quickly be replaced because we don’t actually care about you, but hey, at least you’re saving the Earth from space invaders.

No wonder they lost agents to purification.

With a roll of his eyes and another snide smile, Aquamarine waved the Senshi off, watching after her to see where she went, ensuring she wasn’t going to call over some of her friends to cause trouble. They were all stuck here together, but he still didn’t care to actually work with any of them. The most he could stomach was keeping to himself and not attacking even when the opportunity presented itself. If they all broke off into their little groups and minded their own business, that would be ideal for him.

“Anyway,” he continued, turning back to Geocronite, “We’re stuck here for who knows how long. Scout the area when you get the chance. Just maybe don’t go anywhere alone. If you need assistance, find me or Jet or another General, I guess. It doesn’t seem like there’s anyone higher ranking than that here. Typical.”

He muttered the last word under his breath.

Palatine, Squire of Venus

Palatine stopped her approach when the Corrupt Senshi took a step back. Did she look threatening? She didn’t think so, but she also tended to have a resting b***h face, and it was often worse after a few drinks. She held up her hands to show that they were empty and she was as harmless as a Squire could possibly be. Technically, she didn’t measure up to an Eternal, but if this Senshi was as meek as he seemed, maybe she did seem like a threat.

“I’m not going to attack you,” she said. “See? No weapon. Even if I did have it out, it’s just a teapot. Nothing that’ll hurt you. All I have is healing magic. You could probably hand me my a** in seconds.”

Which she probably shouldn’t be admitting to a potential enemy, but oh well. She wasn’t the type to go around acting like tough s**t.

“If you want me to back off, I’ll back off. No big deal,” Palatine continued. “You just didn’t look too good for a second there, but plenty of your own people are here, so if you want to join them, I’m not going to stop you. If you don’t attack me, I won’t attack you. It’s that simple.”

"How about we gather everyone here in one discussion? Seems everyone here isn't opposed to sharing information, and for now a natural truce would be beneficial until we are forced to break it. For now, it could just be in all our interest to have a unified knowledge of what we do and don't know. That way the people here can fight and take down whatever might show up." Which would lessen the burden on him and those he cared about from taking the full blunt of damage.

"I'm fine with a cat. Though we are all forced to sleep in cabins. They would know where we are and if they have the power to point-point our energy signatures and bring us here. We are already at a disadvantage."

"And I'm allergic to cats. They are great. We can enlist one to our cabin, I just can't have it in my room." He stated in a lower tone as he looked away a moment.

"So how about we try and call everyone together? Sound good?"

At least, as the other pointed out, people were willing to work together in sharing information. They would need to as he was sure they'd soon have a common enemy and would need to work together.

"We'll keep the cat from you. I don't have an issue with cats." But he did drop his voice just so Wolframite would hear. "If we wind up against something spider like...I will have a panic attack. I can't handle them, even small ones, and considering where we are and the time of year." He wouldn't dismiss the idea of whatever they would be against being some random giant spider or something. There had been that spider like creature up in space so long ago. He hadn't handled that well at all. it Wolframite was going to tell him about being injured and about an issue with cats...he would do him the same curtesy and tell him just how much an issue spiders were for him. It could take him out of a battle if it happened. It might also open him up to people finding out in the cabin if one was in the place. It was a risk...but he'd take it for now.

"Let's see if we can't get peoples attention." Not something he was good at but he was going to need to be. Raising his voice as he called out for attention.

"It seems we're all going to have to work together. Perhaps we should all share whatever we may have already gleaned from this place as well as any useful skills we may posses." He called out hoping to gain peoples attention. He hoped this was good.

(Looks like Beni wants peoples attention. Anyone can respond who wants to.)
