Now there was something he couldn't relate to. Not being able to stand his mother. Either one of them. As much as Ujiri hated being in trouble or the like he loved both of his parents. It caused him to regard the shifter with a strange look. "Why can't you stand her? I mean.. I have two moms so I get that they can be annoying but.." He just shook his head.

War. The hybrid leaned his head to the side a bit and considered it as he walked along the road. Getting to the stall he had in mind would be easy enough. "I guess. But is anyone really ready for that? I heard the stories and it seemed like there was a lot of stuff that happened." Then again he was used to hearing several different versions.

Why didnt Liath like his mother, that was a loaded question. "She is weak. So weak she had to run during the war, too weak to even fight. Its disgusting." his nose wrinkled thinking about it. What good was someone who couldnt even fight.

He walked up to the stall with him, he had never been to this place before, he looked around wide eyed. Listening to him Liath shrugged. "I will be." There was no questioning in his voice only the sound of determination, to him it was a matter of fact he would be ready to fight.

He listened to the reasoning behind the dislike of the boy's mother but said nothing. At least not until after he got their food. Ujiri paid for it then turned toward Liath and handed him his very own stick. It looked as though Ujiri had taken them to a place that had deep friend something or another on a stick.

He didn't wait before biting into his own and savoring the delicious meat and the many spices it had. After another bite and a rather loud 'Mmmm' he swallowed his food and gave Liath a serious look. "You know.. not many blacksmiths fight but they are needed to make the weapons you use. Healers don't really fight either but they are necessary for the injured." The youth took another bite and looked out at the crowd. He watched as several people walked by. "Not being able to fight isn't a bad thing. Just gives those that can fight something to protect and fight for."

Liath watched as Ujiri ordered and paid. He took the stick in his hands and stared at it, what a strange thing. He hoped that it was still delicious. Taking a bite his eyes widened in surprised and he looked at Ujiri. It was much better than he had expected.

Liath nodded along with what Ujiri said, "I dont think black smiths or healers are weak. However, my mother ran. There are ways to help with the war and then there is leaving your husband and eldest son to fight and die for what? So she could take the girls and run? Disgusting. My fathers dead because of her ya know". It was the tone of voice Liath spoke in that was unsettling, it was monotone and nearly devoid of any emotion, apart from calling his mother disgusting. He spoke of his father and brothers deaths as facts glossing over them the way you would if you were reciting history.

Taking another bite he actually made an "mmm" noise. "This was a good choice."

He had to admit he was a little surprised. He took another bite, now little more than half way done with his food. As he chewed he pushed the food over to the side of his mouth so he could speak again. "Yeah? How do you know your dad wouldn't have died anyways? What if your mother was protecting her children the only way she could think of at the time?" He shook his head a little and finished what was in his mouth before he fully faced Liath.

"You had a bunch of 'what if' questions about the birds in the cage. Do you have them for what happened in the past too? It was why Ujiri never really asked those kinds of questions. There were an endless supply of them and usually no answers. "If one of my mothers ran with us kids instead of staying to fight with the other.. it was likely a decision that wasn't made lightly and it had us kids in mind. Just saying." He shrugged again. He didn't know the shifter's mother so he couldn't rightly say. But he knew his own mothers. He knew that they would protect their children more than anything else.

Liath continued eating, he shrugged at the others words. "Of course that's her excuse, 'oh I was pregnant' 'oh but your sisters' BAH her excuses mean nothing to me. She is weak, and i only have time to be around those that are strong, if being around you doesn't make me stronger, then what is the point?" Liath continued eating. "You seem pretty strong. I bet your parents amd siblings are too" He nodded firmly.

"Excuse?" Ujiri stopped mid way into biting more of his food. A blink caused him to take a second before he looked more clearly at Liath. "Being pregnant? Is an excuse?" He asked more so to have the absurdity of it spoken out loud. Then he laughed again. "So being with child is an excuse? Wow. Don't say that in front of my mothers." He shook his head and took that bite of his food that he'd stopped earlier.

He hadn't been born yet but he had heard stories of when his earthling mother was pregnant with his older brother. Mention of him being strong had him looking down at his own self then over at Liath. "Eh, I guess? My mothers get up before the sun does to start training. Me and my siblings usually get up as well." Not that early mornings were a favorite or anything.

Liath nodded in agreement, he didn't sense the fact that the other didn't think pregnancy was an excuse. He actually thought they were understanding him. He continued eating. "Yeah that's one of her excuses when i ask he why she left my dad and ONLY brother to die in the war. She should have stayed even if it was just to help tend the injured or something, but she ran away. If I was her i would never have been able to show my face back here."

Upon hearing about Ujiri's family Liath nodded as if it was exactly what he expected. He truly believed his family was the only weak one. "My mother hasn't trained a day in her life and my sisters? They are so busy talking about what boy they are gonna trick into settling down in this.." he motioned to the town around him. "Nearly only town they have ever known, i personally cannot wait to leave. I'm gonna find a group of strong adventures and were gonna fight the worlds problems. I'm going to make a difference and leave all these weak Shifters behind." Liath looked off into the distance longing for a better life.

He sighed and shook his head at the shifter then reached over to push the food into the boy's face. "Finish eating, I can still hear your stomach." It would also get the boy to be quiet.

Ujiri's sisters might not talk about finding a guy and settling down but he could understand them being annoying. And he supposed if his brother had been left to die he'd be upset about it as well. But seeing as his brother was only a few years older than him he didn't see it as a possibility that he'd be left behind.

After a moment he went back to eating his own food, intent on finishing it this time.

Liath hurried up eating. He had talked a lot today, he normally didn't talk that much. Instead choosing to observe, but it had been nice, talking about things he hadn't gotten to say out loud for a while. "This was really nice of you." he finished the food and stood awkwardly. " I will probably never see you again, or that is you will probably never see me again but it was good to observe you Ujiri" He took out his notebook and wrote at the top of the page two words 'Ujiri' 'Freind?' He wasn't sure because he had never made friends before, but he bought Liath food so that counts right?
