Tetra shrugged. It would obviously be him who had to rescue the kitten if Chara was right...but he was not about to get involved in that discussion. "This isn't a christmas tree, dummy!" Chip replied. "And besides, if I get stuck, look what I found yesterday!" At that point, a whole-a** miniature portable acetylene torch popped into the air right in front of the kitten and landed with a thunk on the shelf. "I could just carve my way out!" Truthfully, he wasn't sure he could do that, and had other plans for this "toy," but it was a perfect moment to whip it out. Tetra's eyebrows, unseen by either of them, raised slightly.

"Where the hell did you even find that?! Put that away! We're Secret Thieves, not arsonists. What did I say before? We only burn down the houses of people we hate. No one lives here. We can't hate them, so no fire!" Chara wiggled his finger at Chip, as if scolding a small child. Which, in a way, he was. "And I know it's not a Christmas tree, but the same thing applies!"

"Arsonists?" Chip asked, head tilted over in confusion, as he put a paw on the thing and it disappeared. " Oh! Naahhh, it's not for burning stuff, it's for melting stuff!" Tetra snorted. "There's a difference. And way more fun, too." The kitten nodded, and continued on his way. "And don't worry, I didn't forget!" "I wanna take a few phones," Chip concluded after a moment. "They're good for taking apart, and putting back together better. It's good practice~"

“....” He was not pleased at all at the snort From Tetra when he was corrected. No, not pleased at all. How Dare he. But, he was supposed to be a good leader. And those sorts of people would only barely punish for some sort of disrespect for that. For Chara, that mean giving the man a quick, but hard slap on the shoulder, before continuing on. “Phones it is then. ... Once we have an actual apartment to live in, we can think about getting one of these giant TVs. That would be nice, wouldn’t it?”

Tetra flinched, and frowned. "You have to admit, Chip has... interesting sensibilities." "Oh, those!" He popped up all the way on top of the shelf, and peered in the direction of the big TVs. "That would be fun! And a big 3D setup, too! Yeah!" Chip nodded enthusiastically at that, and came back to the edge of the shelf. "Now catch me and take me to the phones!" He declared...and jumped at Chara without hesitation.

"No, he doesn't. He's a dumbass child." As if on cue, Chip made his big jump and Chara had half a mind to simply teleport out of the way. Unfortunately, his paternal instinct kicked in, and he easily caught the kitten in his hands. "One day, you're going to miss, and it's going to hurt, and you will have no one to blame but yourself. Tetra, you are now commanded to not catch Chip if he does not give you atleast 5 seconds to react. He won't learn otherwise." Even with all that salt, he still gently cradled Chip, petting and scratching him behind the ears as they headed to the phones. "But anyway, what sorta home do you have, Tetra? Where is it?"

"And children, if you listen," Tetra said in what he thought of as his 'professor tone,' informative but carefully not condescending, "often have surprisingly insightful thoughts at times. Chip is strange, sure, but even I can't dismiss his thoughts completely." Chip just looked proud of his antics, and beamed happily. The beaming wilted a little when Tetra added, "But you're right, I won't catch him if he does that." Only a little, though, petting made it better. "My home?" He echoed. "I live in a studio apartment near DCU. Fifth floor, passably nice, and compared with some places I've seen, the very lap of luxury...though most places in America qualify for that thought."

"I'm not saying he's stupid or anything. He's really smart, and makes cool tools. Mostly useful. But that attitude, that's a problem every now and then. But okay, fine, he's still a good boy." He was super cute too, but he wouldn't say that outloud, but did scratch under his chin again and pressed the tiniest of kisses to the top of his head. ... In the end, he knew his life would be alot more sad if his little friend suddenly vanished. Best not to pick on him too much. "Huh... That does sound pretty nice." The idea of a home not in the Negaverse would be pretty cool. He couldn't afford it just yet, but it was a goal he thought of. Maybe he should steal some phones to pawn off and add to his savings. Chip was placed on the phone counter, and Chara leaned back against the nearby wall, thinking to himself. "We should definitely come over to visit. Yes, I think I like this idea."

"That's quite alright," Tetra replied, though it was anything but. "There's no need to visit my apartment. Nothing interesting there but papers and books, really." He shook his head. "Maybe a good place to build a science outpost!" Chip suggested with a giggle and a nod. "Good plan, Chara~" Tetra just sighed at that. "Gotten your fill of loot, then?" Chip nodded. He'd been scooping up things as he went, after all.

"Definitely a reason to go visit! I like the idea of an outpost! Since we don't have a home out here on this side of things." His voice surprisingly went soft, contemplating how it would be nice to not hear random noises all through the night of things moving around or soldiers coming and going constantly. And being able to get good food any time he wanted... That would be nice too. "Time to head out? Good. I'm getting a little hungry."

“I read about something called Fawn-dew yesterday,” Chip said. “I want that!” “You...really don’t,” Tetra replied, imagining with some horror the idea of a tiny kitten poised over a burning hot fondue pot. “Maybe nachos? There’s cheese dip in that, too.” Tetra turned and headed toward the door as Chip considered the possibility. “Close enough,” he concluded.

"Fawn-dew? Do you mean Fondue? You're gonna end up cheesing yourself up! Let's do the nacho thing, and one day, when you can hold a spork, we'll think about that." Now that they were all set, Chara simply scooped up Chip and started to follow Tetra to the door. "Not those cheap 7-11 or Taco Bell Nachos either! We want those fancy ones, right, Chip?"

"Cheap stuff might as well not exist!" Chip agreed with a decisive nod. Tetra sighed. "If nothing else, all this spending will drive me to crime," he said. "But I'm sure we can find something. I think I saw a mexican restaurant around the corner."

"What is that supposed to mean? You don't feed us every day! But I mean, if you want to, I don't mind at all. I rather like the company, what do you say Chip?" Having friends with opposable thumbs was a blessing, one he needed to not take for granted so much anymore.

"I'd rather not," Tetra replied with a slightly resigned shake of his head, gently shepherding his 'superior' toward the door. "Maybe sometimes," Chip said thoughtfully. "I'd rather work on stuff most of the time, though!" Once they were outside, Chip hopped his way back out of Chara's grasp, and undid his security scrambling work, letting the door close before allowing the alarm to re-enable. "Let's go~!"
