Roserain You could smell it on the winds, there was a warmth there now. A heat that suggested warmer months would be coming soon. Summer meant more time to find a new warren for Whitethorn, as he'd grown sick of the one he'd grown up in. He grumbled to himself as he returned to all fours, satisfied for now with his look-around. Here, closer to the earth and among the tall grass he felt safe and quite a deal warmer, but it was difficult to see which way to go in this crisscross maze of tunnels in the newly grown tall grasses.
Continuing on, he wrinkled his nose at the thought of the coming cold weather, though it may be a long way off. Anxiety started to settle in, knowing a rabbit was always safer in a warren. This was risky, what he was doing. But the hope of finding a better home lead him on.
Stretching up to see what he could above the foliage again, his ears twitched nervously. It felt too quiet. Tense, almost. There was a pressure in the air, and Whitethorn wasn't one to dismiss his gut on these things.
Even if he was easily startled, always better to be safe than sorry.
Which is why that shadow looked awfully dangerous. Especially since it seemed to be getting bigger. Right over him.
Eyes going wide as he turned sharply downward and started running, he didn't bother to look behind or overhead as he was sure what he'd see. Ripping talons, a cruel beak. Thumping hard with his back legs as his feet touched down, he charged down one of the grass pathways, barreling into another furred body and tumbling over. Breathing hard, he quickly righted himself and didn't bother to apologize, barely stopping to warn the doe before shooting down another passage in the greenery.
"Run! Bird!"
PZMJNP Lively wasn't part of any Warren. As soon as she reached maturity, she set off in search of excitement and to get a lay of the land. This was useful knowledge for any rabbit. Being alone tended to be more dangerous, so she kept herself in tip top shape to help ensure her survival. A typical day for her involved at least 2-3 intense speed training exercises where she really tried to push her limits as if it were a real life or death situation. She was extremely happy with how her athleticism had steadily improved and her new muscled shape. Today was no different. She woke, grazed, and sped down the path she'd been wearing down for a few weeks now trying to perfect her zig-zag technique.
It'd been a good pawful of hours since then. She'd been recuperating and grazing again when out of nowhere another rabbit plowed into her, sending her hard to the ground on her side. From her angle down there she could see the bloodthirsty beast descending as the warning was called out. Time seemed to slow as her mind exploded-quickly reaching a decision. She feigned a pained scream, hoping to draw the menace's attention and then took off. She did this in hopes of helping the other rabbit since she knew her chances of escaping were incredibly high. Her safe burrow was just at the end of this very path, where she'd been practicing this exact thing every single day. It was an unfortunate event in a fortunate spot.
PZMJNP It was a downright gorgeous day in early autumn. The temperature was perfect and soothing breezes carried the scent of crisp leaves with them. Lively didn't have any major plans for the day other than eating and exercise of course. She didn't usually spend much if any time in the Tanglewood but found herself drawn there when she spotted a familiar sight from her youth. The wonderfully neat, spinny things that fell from the trees this time of year were descending. Whirlygigs she believed the name was or at least that's what she'd been told as a kit. She was struck with the overwhelming desire to catch them like she once had. 'I guess I could call it jumping or reflex training.' she told herself and found a large, clear area that'd be good for it. At first she planned a rough guideline for how this exercise should be carried out but that soon crumbled and gave way to just straight up playing. It was so invigorating to just go with the flow and get out of her own head. This display probably looked ridiculous but she was having too much fun to care.
PZMJNP Buzz was leisurely enjoying some fresh air and stretching his legs after having been digging for the better part of a few days. He loved autumn weather and scenery. The vibrant color change in the leaves was his favorite part. After grazing his eye caught a flicker of orange spasmodically moving in a clearing among the trees, not in a way the falling leaves did. He crept up cautiously and almost laughed when he saw it was his friend Lively making all that commotion. The way she was throwing herself about with wild abandon reminded him of how a kit played. She was lucky he wasn't a predator because there was nothing stealthy about what she was doing at all and she hadn't even noticed his approach. She'll never see this coming then he thought with impish glee as he launched himself at the whirlygig she was currently going for, intending to catch it before she did.
