"Yeah. It's fair. It's no big deal. Go back to your friend before he thinks you passed out. Go to the hospital. I'll check up on you later." He said as he let Landry go.
"I love you as a friend too."

"No big deal? We've all made it into a much bigger deal than it had to be... Of all the things that could have happened, I never wanted Gryphon to learn about the Negaverse. Now he's involved, and the next time he's out and about, I'm sure he's gonna run off his mouth and get threatened and... I don't want him to feel the way I do about what this all is. He's.... He's too good for this." Landry let go as well, stepping back towards the door where hopefully Gryphon wasn't standing there and being nosy.
Gods, he was tired...
But he had said he would call a general, and he did after he pulled out a data pad. This one knew of Wolfy, atleast, having been the one that he called on most often, and that had met him when they had all met the first time. And, well, that general used Landry for his connections to models and work... If she wanted to call that collateral for the favors he asked of her, and the secrets she kept, then so be it.
"She'll be here shortly to pick you up. She knows Lori's room, given how she rummages her closets.... Rest up, alright?" Landry slipped the datapad back into the dresser, and then headed back towards the door, hesitating for just a moment. ".... I won't say more, but... What sort of friend meets up late at night? I hate people, so for what reason would I keep anyone close to me..? It's more than just friendship, I hope you can understand why I want to keep him safe."
With that, he left the bedroom, and headed back towards the living room where Gryphon was waiting for him. For the first time in his life, he felt sheepish, unsure of where to even begin. ".... Um... If you want to still go to the hospital, we can go. Winter will be fine, a ride is coming to get him..."

It shouldn't bother him, should it? Gryphon tried to reason as he sat on Landry's couch, sipping idly at one of the sodas he'd brought. He considered Landry his friend, and at least somewhat expected that the blond boy thought similarly of him. But they weren't... Well, they hadn't known each other that long, so obviously Gryphon wouldn't know the full extent of Landry's business. So it shouldn't bother him to think of what prickly Lan might get up to with anyone else when Gryphon wasn't around, even if it involved physical injuries and some aggressive little squirt that acted like he was tough s**t. It shouldn't bother him.
Right?
He sighed and leaned back, folding his arms and glowering at the dark screen of the TV across from the couch. They were freaking taking their time, though, and Princess Lan hadn't acted especially thrilled to see him. Maybe he really should leave. They were obviously busy doing whatever the ******** they were doing, and didn't seem much like Gryphon was invited to be part of that, so no reason to be stubborn and stay and make things worse...
His gaze flicked up and around the back of the couch toward the bedrooms as he heard a door open, and Landry stepped out. Gryphon stood and moved to stand before the other man. "You... know what you're capable of better'n me," he murmured, reaching for one of Lan's hands and turning his palm up to see bright pink and red lashes across the pale skin of Lan's underarm. "If you don't think you need it, 'f you're comfortable with, er..." His attention flicked sharply to the room Winter waited in. "Whatever he did to fix you up... I can't make ya go."

At some point he'd have to find Wolframite again. At some point there would have to be an apology, a consideration for just how harsh he had been. Even though he found himself to be completely valid in this situation (bleeding all over his furniture seemed like a reasonable enough excuse), it would still be best to patch up things with his friend.
But most certainly not right now.
Landry's focus remained on Gryphon, flexing his fingers against the hand that took his own.
"Honestly, when I was brought here, I wasn't really in my right mind... It was a long night, a battle and poison in the air. I saw things I probably shouldn't have seen, the dead don't rise easily, you know." It was vague, but just how far did he want to dip into this chaotic territory? "What I want right now is drugs. Not like drug drugs, but something to make the pain stop... And the bleeding, yes, that might be important as well... Winter has his own situation to take care of, so going to the hospital sounds like a good idea... Can't risk infection and have an arm fall off, can I?"
In his tiredness, Landry leaned against Gryphon, pressing his forehead against the bigger man's shoulder. "Can you take me there? Please? I won't argue or fuss over anything, so... Don't leave me alone just yet..."

Gryphon really had almost no idea what the other man was going on about. Battles and poison and the dead. It sounded big, like it should all be something he'd at least hear of in the coming days, but... Maybe those sorts of things just slipped under the radar when he was dealing with his own variant of the city's skeezy underbelly. It wasn't like Gryphon actively watched the news or had a great array of sober comrades who would impart such information upon him... Yeeeah, that was probably it. When someone high spouted nonsense at him, it was easy to ignore, so even if someone had mentioned anything like what Landry was saying...
He could assume that Landry wasn't high, right? Right? Lori was awful bad about that, but Gryphon expected a different standard from this boy. Admittedly, that standard didn't involve shady dingos in his house but-
Gryphon wasn't exactly not shady himself.
This was all very complicated, wasn't it?
He tried to focus instead on the slender form leaning against him. No matter what the exact reason was, it was still obvious that Landry was surely not in a condition to be left alone. Gryphon brightened at the prospect of being able to provide any sort of aid toward the situation. "Eyyy, I've got dru-! Eeer..." Not like drug drugs. And that was the standard Gryphon help Landry to, wasn't it? "A vehicle," Gryphon amended almost abashedly. "To get you someplace to get those drugs."
He slid his fingers through the back of Landry's hair. "You really are a drama queen, Your Majesty," he hummed in amusement as he dipped, fingers skating down the length of Landry's spine and even farther to settle one arm at the back of his knees, and the other near his shoulders as he lifted the smaller man up into his arms. "I'm not sayin' it looks great, but I bet you wouldn't lose an arm over it." Gryphon tipped to touch a kiss to the side of his head. "It'll be a'right, Lan. I told you, didn't I? You only ever have to ask. SO whatever you want, I got you."

He had heard the man catch himself, and stifled a laugh. It hurt his ribs too much to try to laugh.
As promised, Landry didn't fuss against his grasp. "No, I think in this situation, I'm the least dramatic here... But it doesn't matter... I'll have to apologize properly later."
Gryphon certainly had some sort of technique to calming Landry's nerves. It felt as if he melted as soon as he was picked up, allowing him to drain out all those thoughts and worries he constantly had held around his head and just exist in that moment. He focused on those arms that held him close, and the soft kiss that touched his temple.
With it came peace.
"Thank you. Really, Gryphon... Thank you."
Indigo_Plateau And that's a fin! Next one is leaving the hospital and coming back home. ;D
