Snake

The evening had started out innocently enough, with dinner and time shared together in his room, when the peace had been interrupted by the sound of something - what he didn't know. The sound though came from what sat on his desk, under a small pile of books, it was that invitation he'd found weeks ago.

Grasping it he brought it over to Gabriel, who had been situated on his bed, and offered him the envelope as well as one of the masks.

That was all it took it seemed. Because moments later they were somewhere else...somewhere not on Earth.

"Space...." He was sure of it, and the wonder in his voice showed. Dark eyes glancing about from behind the mask he wore. "We're in space." He whispered as he turned to look at his masked partner.

Mufasa (Lyonsite)

She had received one of those invitations, and it nearly reeked of the same vein as the one that had resulted in an alternate lifetime of circus memories getting crammed into her head---except. Well. It was apparently from one of those goody two shoe Order knights? It left more questions than answers, and at the end, curiosity was killing this cat. It'd be silly to go alone though, just in case, so of course she had roped Penikisite into going. When the man got ready to tell her he had banned fancy parties, her rebuttal had been that this was a fancy space party, and a cheeky grin.

So here they were.

"Woah." The environment in which they were in was insane. Lyon's eyes widened in awe, but that's when she also realized their attire had changed, too.

"Woah."

Tanned fingers couldn't help but hold onto her companion's arm, more so out of stunned surprised for their surroundings and sudden new costumes (complete with masks) than anything else. "Sooo---" She started, glancing at the man and then back to their surroundings. She felt no powered auras, despite how packed the place was. "You intrigued?"

Enchantress // Corrupt Meridiana

Meridiana had been sitting outside with the invitation Chauvet had given her in hand all the while contemplating whether or not she intended to attend the event. It was true that yes, she did wish to see the squire again but the unknown aspect of what to expect was what concerned her more than anything else.

Typically Meri would reach out to an agent to taxi her to the Dark Kingdom but, given the situation, that was not quite an option. The card had no directions to where the Grand Gallerie was to be held or where to meet up with others who would be attending, and unfortunately, she had no way to reach out to a White Moon knight to ask for help either.

Letting out a defeated sigh, the Senshi of the Succubus had been about to discard the invitation in a recycle bin and go seek out a new target for her energy quota when something startling happened. Meridiana knew what it was like to be teleported by an Officer to their location, however, this was somehow inexplicably different and to her surprise, she was greeted by something far more vibrant and colorful than the purple crystal stalagmites and stalactites she was accustomed to seeing.

Her eyes were alight with the sense of wonder and joyful surprise that with how magical and bright this place seemed to be. Guest, like herself, wore uniquely designed outfits with an array of masks which actually made her wonder if she was actually dreaming. A quick pinch on her arm was enough to prove that this place was real, or at least Meridiana hoped it was.

The dress she wore fit far more comfortably than the powered uniform she had donned before her arrival and was blessedly far less revealing than what she was used to wearing.

An amused smile lifted the corners of her red painted lips as she reached up to adjust her golden filigree mask with small sapphire embellishments accenting the edge. For the time being, Meridiana simply wondered through the growing crowd of people; although short, she held her head high in hopes of spotting their host if only to give thanks and show her appreciating for inviting her to such a wondrous place.

The Good Omen

It was all so strange and unexpected when it happened. One moment he was cuddled up in a comfortable bed and the next he had on a mask and was whisked away. What could he really expect to happen though? It came with a very classy wardrobe change as well. The last thing he would have guessed was that they were in space though.

It wasn't until his partner, that was him under that mask right, said something that it sort of all made sense to him. He was sill new to the whole powered thing, but he knew this was a very rare treat for them.It wasn't something they could do normally on their own.

"We really are, that's pretty amazing..." He glanced around the wonder, pretty amazed by the state of it. Though a little thrown of by the more modern tastes from their time sticking out in the form of food for them all. It was so out of place, but it was still an amazing sight.

"I never thought I'd be somewhere like this."

"That's because space isn't meant for us." He whispered to the other, leaning into the others ear to whisper to him. Leaning back, just a bit, his lips brushed the others cheek. "We should enjoy this..." And act as casually as they could.

"You look...handsome." He wasn't sure what other word to use, or what other word would fit. It was a bit awkward, and new, saying that to someone else. "We should find some food and explore while we can." Offering an arm to the other, rather than let everyone figure they were a couple. Let them appear, perhaps, as friends.

The Good Omen

"Well, it's a little fair since we've got our own space." He kept his voice quiet as he responded. There was no telling who was who here. He couldn't sense any power signatures around them. Anyone could be anyone with those masks on, he might even know some of them. At least he knew the person standing next to him though.

"You don't look so bad yourself." The compliment left a blush on his face, which was mostly covered by the mask he now wore. And he happily hooked arms with his companion. Probably best not to be too obvious about their relationship. Just in case.

"It was just about dinner time." He led them over to where the food was being offered. Part of him wondered why such a fancy event was being catered with pizza, but he wasn't one to complain either way.

"It's kind of a bold move to invite so many...strangers to your wonder." A part of him was really curious about meeting their host, but whoever they were didn't seem to be around right now.

"Perhaps..." He nodded his head in consent. It was true. But would they have their own place still if they had space also? Had the chaos seed eaten away their homeworlds...and was gifting them the remains, sort to speak, and giving them something to build onto with those remains? It was a bit of a sick way to think but how could he help it? He didn't voice this, not here, to the other. Maybe he wouldn't voice it at all to his partner, not now anyway.

"It is...I don't think I'd do that myself." He whispered as he glanced over the food. Pizza...not a good idea, not a pleasant one. "Pizza....not something I'll have." Greasy and oily and it always repeated on him, not very pleasant on the way up. "Veggies for me." Which was healthier for sure. "And something to drink." But what?

"Do you think we should try and socialize a bit as well...with other people?" Keeping to the others side as he glanced about at those around them. So many fancy outfits, flashy and bright, it looked elegant and he felt a bit...out of sorts.

Observer

She had been doing some paperwork for the job she had agreed to take, during her master's and doctoral coursework. It was not hard paperwork, just the usual stuff to get her properly and legally employed... Social, birth date, etc... So when she heard the chiming sound it did not bother her too much. She finished her work, quickly, then stood to go find what caused it.

She found her invitation, and stared at it, and the way the mask had changed. Her expression was a little suspicious... Everything that had happened recently made her wonder if everything was dangerous, and an invitation that changed was certainly strange... But she took a breath and reached for it, sighing softly.

And then she was whisked away, and when she found herself in the new space, she looked around, eyes wide and fascinated. She could tell she was wearing a mask... It almost seemed as if her glasses had become a part of it, they fit so well... And the outfit she was wearing was impeccable. She did not normally wear white, but given she seemed to be wearing a moon mask, if the reflection she had just seen was any indication, Observer felt the color appropriate. She looked at it, enchanted, and then looked around... Because she felt suddenly very alone in this crowd of strangers, and she wanted her partner at her side.

Blackbird

Children weren't a part of the Blackbird's lexicon--she had none, she visited few in her family, and she did not suffer the presence of the ones too young to be recruited for the Negaverse. Her eyebrows rose from under her veil at the barrage of questions, looking between herself and Cypher. Still, the presence of one here was enough to refocus her attention away from the panic and back to breathing, trying to lower the edge of her shoulders.

"...Thank...you..." she responded in stilted tones to the child, looking down at the black tunic she'd been given. "It isn't something I would usually wear."

She looked back to Cypher, taking in the strangeness of it all. "Feathers." Reaching up to touch her face, she was suddenly aware of the tiny pinions around the edges of her eyes, more the suggestion of a mask than an actual disguise. She wondered if this was some sort of joke, put up by the members of her team. They'd taken to calling themselves the Flock, and as much as Zircon loathed the name, it was officially starting to stick.

"Yours is fox shaped," she replied in kind, glancing back towards the child for a moment before it flickered to her General-King. "We need to talk. Do you have a moment?" If they were going to have to fight out, they needed a game plan, and she saw no other members of her team.

Resilience

Nate had just gotten back from the kitchen when he heard the chimes, and naturally his brow quirked up curiously. He glanced toward Seren and noted that the sound hadn't bothered her--was it a Negaverse thing? Did alerts from other agents chime in his head or something?

"That doesn't make any sense," he muttered as he flopped onto the couch and stared at the table where the chime had originated. In it was the weird invitation that he had spotted and, for reasons he wasn't quite sure of, took home some time ago and just...sort of tucked away. He glanced between it and Seren for a few long moments, sipping his water as he turned over the possibility in his mind. He eventually opened the compartment it was tucked away in when Seren got up, figuring it couldn't hurt to make sure that it wasn't what caused it, but as the text and masks changed before his widening eyes he felt his heart drop. It was only a split second but he glanced up and saw Seren was just...gone. And then he reached for his own envelope, a loud expletive escaping him as he did.

The new space looked...incredible, to say the least. Nothing like anything he'd ever seen before in its style and decor. The worry and anger had slipped away from him and for the moment he was simply fascinated by his surroundings. And even at himself, wearing such a fancy suit and mask--was it supposed to be a sun? He didn't feel a bit out of place wearing such an outfit in such a place...though he felt just a twinge of loneliness as his eyes naturally went to the crowd. He weaved through the bodies, scanning, searching, until he finally found her. Just a silhouette in the distance but he knew it couldn't be anyone else. His lips gradually turned up into a smile as he approached, and soon he offered her his hand.

"Found you," he said, eyes trained on hers. "And in a crowd, too. Do I get some sort of for that?"

Chasin' Waterfalls would find that it was in fact pizza, with boxes of cheese, pepperoni, a veggie pizza, and...Hawaiian. The slices were still hot, but difficult to pull apart--she'd have to take care not to get cheese on her dress.

Observer

When the Sun to her Moon offered her his hand, what was visible of her face lit up under her mask and she took the hand, eyes bright behind the mask. "Anything you might ask for, when we get home." She said, quietly, her eyes watching him with a soft smile. "Thank you for finding me, I was feeling alone in amongst all of these strangers." She began to lead him along the hall, heading for the food.

Food, after all, that was free was the best food. And she smelled PIZZA. Pizza was definitely a plus. She moved straight to the plates, grabbing one for each of them, and handing him his. "Let's eat something, while we figure out what is going on here. And maybe figure out where the drinks are, cause I see a lot of salty food, and I see cups, but I'm seeing a lack of fluids."

Her eyes ran along the 'buffet', as she got herself some pepperoni pizza, with care, wondering if there was some sort of drink station in one of the rooms in the halls off to the sides.

She noted the hall of Portraits, with some curiosity, and wondered if they should got check it out. It might be hard to explain why she was so interested in it, except under the level of 'they were here, it might be interesting.'

Resilience

His smile could only grow wider at her words, and like her his expression brightened from behind his mask. "Of course," was all he said, leaving the response to his question about a prize at just quiet acknowledgement. For all he knew they would forget about all this once they made it home. He gave her hand a little kiss before fully taking hold of it and following her lead to the food.

Food was always important, after all.

"It looks like we're at a fancy party," he said as he took the offered plate and started loading it up with some pizza. "Though I guess pizza isn't all that fancy, but it's easy to serve so I get it." What food was being served wasn't likely to matter in the big picture, but he did get why pizza was an attractive choice for big events. He loaded his plate up with a few more things from the buffet, and then he glanced around.

"We could always ask? It'd be good to have some drinks on us when we start to wander around. It looks like there's plenty to see."

"Mmmm fancy in all but the food, and what it's on, really. Even some of the food could be fancy, were it on other serving ware and surfaces. A nice wood table, perhaps, and some nice ceramic serving dishes could elevate the veggie and dip platters into proper canapes, visually." She laughed, though, and shrugged, clearly not bothered by the lack of fancy here. "But it's food, and it's free, so who cares?"

She took a bite of the pizza, taking some of the veggies onto her plate after, and then she looked around again. She had no idea where to look.

"Mmmm wo to ask, though? I do not see anyone who looks like a host of sorts, do you? We could just wander around until we find the drinks, maybe?" She glanced back up at the portraits. "Maybe they're up that way?"

Resilience and Observer played the part of sun and moon, destined to orbit each other. They would each hear a laugh, a knowing hum, and feel a soft tingling starlight sensation as something moved past them, from the locked doors and up the stairs.

...Strange. Was this place haunted?
