"It had to be beautiful," Noah said, shrugging and offering her a smile. "I wanted it to represent our family. A ring couldn't do that. I'm not just meshing my life with your's--though I am bound and you won't be getting rid of me--" he paused and smiled at her. "I want to be part of the family, too."

Noah returned her kiss. "Do you think so?" he asked. He was smiling. He really did hope that one day the children would warm up to him. He'd become fond of them, even if some of them tended to ignore him.

"Yes, I definitely think so. You just have to be patient and let them warm up to you, dear. Some of them take time, because of what they have been through in life. They are all good kids though, so I know they will get used to you,"she smiled.

Just be patient. He'd certainly try. He nodded; he could understand their being slow to warm up to people because of life-things. Hell, sometimes he felt like hiding in a corner of his room. "You're probably right. So... I was hoping you wouldn't say no to going to dinner with me?" He gave her a smile.
Why not worry Paian a bit? They were renewing their vows--they needed to celebrate!

"I know a good italian place," Noah offered. Italian didn't seem special enough, though... Where could they go where they wouldn't need a reservation? "Or there's thai food. They make an amazing peanut sauce--at least they did, last time I went." Three years ago. He wasn't sure the restaurant was still in business.
"Where's your favorite place to eat?" he asked.

"Honey, if you remember right, I have never been fond of Thai food. Italian though, that I would not mind at all. Or maybe to one of those nice burger places. It doesn't have to be too fancy, you know I am usually easy to please,"she reminded.

How could he have forgotten that? He could have slapped himself. Nice burger place? That was tempting... Noah took a moment to think. He couldn't believe he'd forgotten where Dea liked to eat. Honestly. He was her husband. He should have known everything about her!

Dea saw the look on his face, she reached over to kiss his cheek lightly. When he suggested a burger place, she looked thoughtful, before nodding her head.
"Sounds like a wonderful idea to me, they really did have some good burgers. Also some delicious deserts, if I remember right. And love, don't feel bad for forgetting, okay?"she requested.

They did have good desserts. Noah remembered their banana split and the seemingly endless flavored toppings they'd offered. It was always good on a rough day. "Cheese cake?" he asked. He couldn't remember if she'd preferred that dessert over icecream.

"Cheesecake is pretty good, from what I remember of the place. Though, you and I used to enjoy the banana splits. You could never get over how many topics they offered. And love, you have been gone awhile, you can't expect to remember everything after what you have been through,"she replied.

"They had marshmallow topping," Noah said, and gave her a smile at the memory. "Peanut butter sauce, too. And cherries on top!" The endless toppings had offered so many options. He paused and furrowed his brow. He knew she was right. But...
"I should remember. I'm your husband."

"I think the marshmallow topping and peanut butter ones were my favorite. Reminded me a little of a S'mores and peanut butter cups. And love, you are my husband who had been tortured. I would be lucky if I remembered my own name,"she spoke.

"Have you had a s'more with a peanutbutter cup in it?" Noah asked. They'd have to toast marshmallows sometime--maybe one of Dea's pokemon could help him set that up.
He fell silent for a long time. He wasn't sure how to respond to that. Was he expecting too much of himself? She seemed to be suggesting that. "I know," he said. He moved to kiss her cheek. "Let's go have those banana splits."
