Character: Troy Current Square: 15 to 14 (escaped) Response: His initial attempts were met with him sinking lower, Troy cursing to himself as the muck was up to his waist. This was fine....just breathe and think; there had to be something that could help him get out. He looked around, scanning what was near him when he saw a low, hanging branch that barely stretched to where he was. Hmm...maybe....
Sometimes he forgot he had a tail. Within the muck, he used it to push himself up as he stretched out to grab the branch; his fingers brushed through it at first until he finally managed to get a grasp on it. Heaving with his arms and tail in use, Troy managed to make his way back to the stable edge, sitting there for a moment to catch his breath. He looked over and saw that Oiche had made it out, as well, standing up to join her in offering his help to anyone else that ended up in it. He doubted they were the only ones. "You ok? Everything in tact?" He asked her as he caught up to her side.

Character: Raliegh Current Square: 3 Escape Attempt 1 Response:Raliegh ran his hand through he hair on his chin, thinking. 'This way right?' She had to have gone this way. Certainly, he would have noticed if she had gone in the other direction. How in the world did she get ahead of him though? Perhaps when he was inspecting a branch she simply continued walking? It would be a bit rude to walk away from someone who was talking to you but he didn't know her perhaps she was, in fact, a rude individual. Or perhaps, he supposed, she wasn't real.
This was what he was soo busy thinking about that he wasn't paying attention to his surroundings which in a place you've never been, a place where someone could have gone missing, is more than likely ill-advised. It wasn't until he wasn't able to move his leg and heard the faintest to tears that he realized he had stuck his foot in a patch of thorns and that well-tailored full wool three-piece suit he loved so much was snagged on just that. He lightly pulled his leg but only saw a small tear forming on the cuff where it was caught. "Oh nono this simply won't do!" he looked around him, he needed to think fast.

Character: Raliegh Current Square: 3 Escape Attempt And Moving to square 2 Response: Raleigh squatted down slightly to get a better look on exactly what had snagged him. Letting out a sigh of relief he noticed it wasn't as bad as he had originally thought it to be. He carefully reached his hand down toward his foot and took ahold of the cuff I his pants with the other hand he grabbed the thorn branch and lifted it slightly freeing himself from it. He then carefully picked his foot up and out of the patch of thorns. Very carefully and very deliberately he took steps through the rougher patch of terrain. He was eager to get out of this area and away from the thorns.
"Silly Man you can't let yourself be distracted by a woman in such dangerous unfamiliar terrain" he chastised himself. He pulled out his notebook and made another line and an X. "Just follow the sun and you'll be fine. you won't get lost... alone... in the woods... right?" He let out a nervous chuckle. By this time he couldn't see or hear anyone else, a realization that made the fur stand up slightly on his arms.

Character: Cian Current Square: 10 to 9 Response: It was a slow process. Most of the tracks he found were, as he suspected, animals, and that did nothing to entirely aid him. Cian knew that just blindly wandering into the forest though was ill-advised, and so kept up the gradual search just in case some sort of evidence to the professor's path presented itself. Still making his makeshift arrow across the trunk of each tree he passed.
Unfamiliar with these lands, he wasn't able to determine factors such as rain fall or other weather that might effect the likelihood of tracks remaining, but it didn't take local familiarity to notice the shift in one spot. His eyes narrowed and he pause, staring towards the track of pressed leaves and broken branches--a natural curve to the foliage around the path caused by extended periods of use by creatures wandering the trail. He stepped closer, noting more recent tracks of deer stamped into the earth along with fallen leaves and bits of branches. Broken branches held bits of fur from different critters that utilized the trail.
Deer trails made perfect paths for wanderers of nearly all sizes. Easier walking than less frequently traversed portions of the forest. Cian lifted his hand and cut another arrow, pointing into the direct of the trail, and set off down it. It was certainly more possible that the professor might take such a path in his travels, rather than wandering through the untouched underbrush. Unless he didn't notice such trails, which would have stricken Cian as... odd, to say the least. Now and then his ears twitched, voices of others from the expedition drifting through the trees.
Quote: Cian is open for interaction within the square, feel free to mention for proximity/strike up a convo with him!

Character: Oiche Current Square: 14 (hasnt moved) rp response. Response: Well that was the problem with expeditions. Things went wrong and bogs came out of nowhere to try to trap you. Okay so the bog was there first but it didn’t stop Oiche from giving the bog a look, a brief short look, but a look none the less. It looked like the small band who had gone on her path of the deer trail all seemed to be making it out as well. So this was the time to sit and rest and recover from the shock of suddenly smelling like icky bog for the rest of the way.
“Yeah, not the first time I’ve been in a situation. Last time dad got stuck in quick sand, luckily escaping seems to be the same technique give or take a few steps. It looks like everyone made it okay I think” She replied talking a deep breath. "Suffice to say it doesn’t seem like our esteemed lost professor went this way. Are you okay too?” Okay she should have probably asked that first but the more important part was she did ask right? Besides she had to answer his question too. “Should we leave a note or something for the members of our party who are following behind us? I think there might be a couple?” Oiche was pretty sure she could turn the piece of paper into like a bird and fly it across to the other side but then again what if they came at the bog from another angle. “Mmm maybe warning is also a moot point.” Luckily she still had her bag and the map she had been drawing. While she was recovering she made a point to add the bog to the map.

Character: Amarith Current Square: 10 to 15 Response: An animal trail! Well, it was possibly unwise to follow it--what if a predator found her?--but there were enough people nearby that if such a thing happened she could surely call for and receive help. Hefting up her backpack, she forged ahead.

Character: Isley Current Square: 3 to 8 Response: Isley sat for a few mins. She was trying really hard not to cry. How could she have not been paying attention and ran into a thorny bush. She tugged on her dress and she could hear it starting to rip. She quickly stopped. She started untangle her dress but she is having trouble. She is starting to tear up with frustration.
After a few minutes messing with the bush she finally was able to escape. She had a few cut on her leg but she didnt care. She reach in her bag and grabbed some ointment for the cut. "Good thing I brought this." She said as she put it back in her bag. "I would hate to have scars on my leg." And she started searching again.

Character: Max Current Square: 15 to 20 Response: Max wasn't stuck in the bog very long he was able to grab a vine and pull himself out pretty quickly and he started making his way away from the bog, looking around to make sure no one else was stuck in the bog. His shoes and pants were covered in much. Max had not been expecting there to be a bog in the forest. It was quite surprising and he wondered what other surprised the forest held. "Everyone ok?" Max called out into the forest to see if anyone would hear him who might need help. He didn't want to move on in his search if someone was in danger.

Character: Oiche Current Square: 14 (escape attempt 1) Response: Okay so killer swamps and now killer trees. Some times she was pretty sure it ducked to be a hybrid, you just missed out on all the cool traits, like if she had been full Geist could she have just managed to get out of the tree. Well there was nothing to do about it, life was sucky and then you died and got the people who could see you ridiculed.

Character: Oiche Current Square: 14 (escape attempt 2) Response: Okay this was turning out to be a bit tricky to get out of, but she wouldn’t panic. Panic would make you do stupid things and you would exhaust yourself, most people probably would but oiche knew there was an afterlife and that as a ghost it would be easier to punch dr. Horn in the face if his expedition had killed him.

Character: Oiche Current Square: 14 (escape attempt 3) (escaped to square 19) Response: Okay angry thoughts would get her no where and she needed to make sure to get herself out safety so that she could get out and help Troy or at the very least get out and show she was safe so that Troy could worry about himself instead. The question was should she put all her energy and phase through the tree. Some times it just didn’t pan out to be so tall. So instead she just worked on body parts, she got her arm free and then upper torso and finally the rest of her body. Well her outfit had seen better days but this is why you didn’t wear your fancy clothes on an expedition because they got drenched with bog water and caught my tree branches. Freedom secured, she just needed to catch her breath again. There was a lot of catching of her breath today. Come to think of it, considering who died in horror movies she looked up just to make sure there was no mutant mountain lion about to swoop down and eat them. Okay now that she was safe it was time to help her companion the best she could.
“Are, are you okay? Is there anything I can do to help?” Oiche asked. It was the one thing she had never grown out of no matter how much people had thought her scary or a fraud, was being there to help people in some way, and hey she managed to ask first this time. Yay for progress. Oh wait be happy about progress when Troy got free.

Character Name: Amity Current Square: 8 (escape attempt 1) RP Response:
Amity slowed as her path was broken up by a deep chasm, and cautiously peered over the edge of it. That seemed like a long way to slide, and if there was no obvious way across, she doubted very much there would be an easy way to climb out if she fell.
As Amity stepped backwards to try and find a new path to follow, she felt the ground suddenly go soft and break beneath her feet, sending her down into the chasm on a slick path of soft ground and mud. She screamed as she went down, scrambling to grab anything that might give her purchase as she slid towards the bottom of the chasm.

Character Name: Amity Current Square: 8 (escape attempt 2) RP Response:
Amity scrambled to grab for something as she slid, rolling onto her side and digging her fingers into the dirt to try and grab purchase onto something. Her fingers found no purchase in her digging, and it didn't seem to slow her fall either, until she grabbed onto what felt like a tree root.
She let out a huff of relieved laughter as she finally stopped sliding, and peered upward to the mossy hill she had started at. It was a fair distance to try and climb on soft ground, but she had to try.
No sooner did she put her weight onto the root to try and haul herself up, did the root suddenly give under the added weight and sent her careening back down the soft mud, further into the chasm.
