Lieutenant Strengite

“Yes!” Strengite pumped her fist into the air and did a little dance. She didn’t care that her own boat was really starting to show heavy damage. She didn’t care that she was facing a watery death of her boat sank first. None of that mattered to her. All that mattered was that her last shot landed squarely on her enemy ship.

“Hell yeah! One more shot like that and we will sink the ********! Let’s get this sit done!” Her cheer echoed across the deck. She pointed at the listing enemy ship and grinned evilly. “Prepare to meet Davy Jones you b*****d!”

Allegra Marchesi
Allegra was rather surprised when she saw another person appear on the Goddamn Boat, and she lifted her brows. Well, another person to assist with the battle operations! This was excellent, and while Allegra was STILL not happy about the situation, she was more then happy to welcome a stranger who was going to assist them in defeating the Enemy Boat. And the woman's shot struck true, and hard. Allegra could hardly keep herself from dancing for joy... She managed, but only because she wanted to keep the boat steady for Eoin's shots too.

Instead, she called out "EXCELLENT work, thank you!" because she had no idea what the ******** else one would say to a stranger who was aiming the cannons of... the ship you were appeared to be the captain of.

This was really very lunatic, but Allegra was going to run with it. She shot Eoin a quick smile of thanks at his introduction, and his hit, then focused again. They had the enemy on it's last legs. "HOLD ON, THIS WILL BE THE LAST RUN." She bellowed out, hoping not to anger the others... But she had spotted a weak point, a place where she could REALLY ram the other ship with hers and take it out for good. She spun the wheel, getting them lined up, and a large wave helped them, slamming them forwards and through the other boat, the bow taking the worst of the impact... But they hit clean, and the other boat snapped in two as they slammed through it, huge cracks going through it.

Once she was through and out of the zone of the debris, she steered the boat to what seemed calmer waters, away from the other battles, before getting the unseen crew to drop anchor, and then she darted to the other two. "Are you alright?"

Lieutenant Strengite

Strengite grinned as her target began to sink slowly into the waves. “It’s about damn time!” She has been stuck in this bottle for longer then she ever wanted to be. “This means I can get the hell out of here right?” Her question was mostly said to no one in particular but apparently her crew thought she was talking to them since she was suddenly floating and being carried towards the side of the boat.

“The hell? Get off! Get the hell off of me!” She shouted and tried to swat at the the insubstantial crew to get them to put her down. She didn’t see where they were carrying her until it was too late. “No!!!! You ********!!!” Her yowl proceeded a loud splash as the lieutenant was thrown overboard. “You bastards!” She sputtered and screeched, treading water and watching as her battered ship sailed away. They had thrown her overboard even tho she had won! Those ungreatful bastards!

She tried to keep sea water out of her face even as she thought of the central bottle. No way was she dieing from drowning. ******** this bottle and it’s salt water!

dms loreley

Eion's observation made her wonder if there wasn't some truth to it. What was the phrase? The albatross around your neck. At least the invisible crew didn't seem eager to toss her out for her unintentional boarding.

She was better prepared to stand against the recoil as the ships did battle but still felt a pang of fear before impact. Her luck had been terrible thus far, you had to understand, to the point that even with an obvious victory in hand she had fostered doubts. The vessel split in two around them as easily as breaking a cracker, and she hoped that was enough to fulfill the challenge, because frankly? Loreley didn't have the sea legs to stay there for much longer.

As the men (and women?) of their boat crowed and cheered around them, Loreley turned to the woman she presumed was captain--by virtue of her seeming in charge if lacking the outfit. She was a little frightened by the concern a complete stranger showed her which, again, telling, but she replied, "A little lost, but that's the usual," with a soft voice that didn't at all match their surroundings. Her hands formed a vague prayer gesture at her stomach. "Um. I'm Loreley."

Nice to meet you in the middle of seafaring battle? Great boat driving and cannon loading skills?

"Do either've you know where we should go now?"

Well, as nice as it would be to continue to hang out on these now calm and pleasant seas with the cute Page---she needed to move on. It was still a matter of life or death, after all, and she wanted to get out of this trap bottle. She had a life to try and make right and go live.

The corrupt teleported from her spot near the Captain's wheel to the Page's side, and she smiled. "It's been fun, Dream Boat, but I'm setting sail for different seas now. See you around, hopefully." Still leaned and kissed Chauvet's cheek, and then she was gone.

Eion Risk

Another impact, another stumble. Eion kept a wide stance to resist it, and eir steadiness kept em upright. The sea breeze spread its salt tines through their hair, rustled clothes, shook sails. As white smoke cleared and more of their choppy seas became visible, Eion caught sight of the fractured ship. Only the gunwale still extended above water, aside from its masts and tattered cloths, and nearest the crow's nest ey say the lock in questioned. It shimmered and shined with an unearthliness that promised this land was entirely magic. Loreley would believe it, but would Allegra?

She might for how she rioted to their victory. Their aftermath lacked relief; Eion only felt a margin of disappointment for how a battle waged and won had ended so succinctly. And there were no spoils in it — just a sore shoulder and some meager satisfaction that they passed an imposed trial.

Eion nodded to Allegra's question after prodding fingers into his shoulder. But Loreley's question was less a formality and more of concern given their prescribed timeline; need they only complete one trial? Two? Three? And what would transpire if they didn't? If they chose instead to accost the other ships in their vicinity? Far they were from recognition, however, and Eion lacked Faustite's perspicacious auric sense.

Eion leaned against one of the canons, hands braced to buffer between gunmetal and lower back. Eir left foot bobbed restlessly by the heel. "We know we're timed with four trials to complete. We finished out trial here. Better that we keep moving and do as much as we can." Urged was ey to turn their gunfire on other ships, on any recognizable for their White Moon roots, but the other ships were far too distant to recognize their captains.

"We need to return to that starry space somehow —" As the last syllable left Eion's breath, wrapped in thought of a timeless, glittering sea of bottles, ey vanished.

An ease seemed to settle over this vast expansive sea. One of peace. A tension that was there before melted away.

[ Chauvet Page ]

Chauvet let out a whoop when the ship opposite them began to sink, spinning in her gown to look up at Still. "We did it--!!" She started, only to pause when Stillwaterite disappeared--then reappeared--right in front of her. Chauvet blinked. That's what Still had done to get to her so fast? Was that her senshi super-power?

Chauvet didn't get time to think on it. There were lips on her cheek and suddenly her face was so red that it blotted out the constellation of freckles that danced across her nose.

"Ahhhh--ummm--see you, Mistress," Chauvet blurted out, too warm-blooded to feel clever, and when Stillwaterite disappeared, she clicked her heels and thought of somewhere else, and then there she went.

[Allegra Marchesi]

Allegra blinked at the odd young woman. Loreley seemed to be very... miserable. Allegra wanted to sling an arm around her shoulder and make her feel better, take her to a party to try and have some fun, but she was not dumb enough to do that with a stranger, especially one wearing one of the outfits she sometimes saw on TV. She decided, instead, to give her an encouraging smile. "I'm pretty lost too, but I'm sure we can make it through."

A polite lie, told in a way that sounded like she believed it, but so far, despite 'dying' because a boat fell on her, she had been pretty successful, she felt, for someone who had no experience with magic.

She was going to continue, when Eoin spoke again, and nodded slowly. "I have no idea how we will be able to get it all done in time, but damn me if I don't try."

His next comment, however, and the way they interrupted themself by disappearing made her stare, and finally she turned to Loreley. "I'm going to assume this happens normally in magical places. However, given that... I'm going to say I want to return to the starry space too..." And she too disappeared, returning to the space between.

dms loreley

If there were four trials to complete, did they have to be done individually? Was everyone's progress part of the same checklist to fill? Either way, Loreley didn't want to try and traverse the bottles alone--civilians though they were, they at least seem to be in control of themselves, so at least someone was among them--and if these two didn't seem to mind her presence, then...

...They'd just straight up disappear, apparently.

Loreley blinked at the space Eion occupied, then turned that owlish look to Allegra. Was it normal? Uh. Well, if the rule was "because magic," then sure, she'd accept it. Cats talked, and she could shoot arrows without a quiver. Why not?

Allegra went next, and while she was ready to go, Loreley paused to look at the peaceful ocean for a few moments more. Were they quelling some sort of inner chaos, or conquering these dominions, disguised as their trials? It couldn't all be bad, she thought, as she gazed out towards the horizon. But there were still a few ships abound, and she didn't want to become a prisoner for dallying, and so she thought of the space from before and followed suit.

[Basiluzzo Page]

Basiluzzo was right behind Encke, jumping forward as soon as that shot had gone into the side of the enemy ship. The cannons didn't fire again right away of course, but there was a little bit of glee in Basiluzzo's voice as he gave the order.

Just a little bit.

A heartbeat later, the cannons sent off another volley that took out several of the already damaged structures on the enemy ship. That ship was actively taking on water, now. Just one more hit looked like it'd be enough to take it out. Maybe even sneezing on it strongly. That their own ship was looking pretty worse for the wear did not escape him, but the difference between the two was stark.

[ Transcendent Eternal Encke ]

Hearing the glee in Basiluzzo's voice as he gave the order might have brought a bit more glee to Encke's own countenance.

There was a small part of him that couldn't help thinking that perhaps, maybe, being a senshi at the same time his love was a knight wouldn't be so bad. Would they have ever gotten to be ship captains of a ghost pirate ship in a bottle dimension if they both hadn't been powered? Would Encke really have not been sharing this part of his life with Basiluzzo?

Sure, so much of his life sucked, so much of this life sucked, but--

Encke's thoughts were suddenly quite distracted when a cannon smacked their boat again, rocking it. A little more steady on his feet, Encke didn't stumble backward, instead glaring at the ship in front of him.

And yet, he couldn't help the twinkle in his eye.

The ship was already so damaged he was fairly convinced he could blow on it and it would sink into the sea.

"FIRE!"

And the cannons fired through the sky, landing in-between the cracks of the ship and on the ship itself...

Which promptly burst into flames.

Encke couldn't help but admire the blaze of glory, between barely muffled snickers and a wide grin on his face. They had won this ridiculous trial. They had. The two of them.

... As captains on a ship manned by ghosts in a bottle sea in a bottle dimension.

"Isn't it beautiful?" joked Encke, grinning over at Basiluzzo. Why did everything feel so much lighter now?

[Basiluzzo Page]

Seeing the enemy ship catch on fire and finally go down was really very, very gratifying. Basiluzzo grinned back. "It's a tragedy I don't have marshmallows." Looking around at their own ship, the cannons had stopped firing as well, even the between prep work seeming to stall in the face of victory. He stepped closer, taking advantage of his considerably long legs to close the distance, lean down a little, and press a kiss to Encke's cheek on impulse.

"We should probably go, though, yeah?" He hesitated, then reached for Encke's hand and instinctively looked for a bottle to go back through. That was how everything else had worked, right? Go through a bottle and they'd be back in the central area, right? Where was the bottle? He would much rather be back in central, or anywhere really, than on--

[ Transcendent Eternal Encke ]

It was a tragedy they didn't have marshmallows. s**t. That would be really good right now, actually. Maybe when they got out of this bottle dimension from hell, they could go home and make some s'mores--

Basiluzzo bent down just slightly to kiss Encke on the cheek, and the transcendent eternal made a positively goofy humming noise of contentment. Basiluzzo's grasp may have been more hesitant, but Encke took his hand and intertwined their fingers eagerly. This was nice. A part of him honestly just wanted to stand here and watch the blaze of glory. Victory felt good. Victory with Basiluzzo by his side honestly felt better.

Better than expected.

Normally, he might have hesitated on keeping their fingers entwined, but it wasn't like anyone else could see them here--

"Right, probably."

They needed to complete the other trials, right? Did other people complete the other trials? How did that work? He supposed the best thing to do was just do as much of it as they could together. But the first step to that was getting back out of here. He didn't see any bottles, though. How would they get back--
