Amila watched the dragonet lunge in the direction of the young male, and was then rather careful to move, well, a bit back more. While it was good to see the fierce, proud dragonet doing better now, it was a bit alarming, and the girl blinked, watching with her green eyes taking in everything. She took in the sights, the sounds, and...
Well, decided Power needed space and getting involved in a dragonet's anger wasn't the wisest idea, not with other dragonets on the sand or dragons seeking to Impress, so she decided to look over the eggs and other green again, humming to herself faintly of a light tune -- almost melodyless.

Mennick / Stands / Healer, mind
The more he watched, the more Mennick realized the charge was aimed at one of the Candidates. A sigh of relief escaped him unbidden but he did have to worry about that other boy now. What had he done to make her so angry? Something he was thinking today, or earlier, during the Touching perhaps? It was rather puzzling.
Maddeck / Sands / Healer, medic
Maddeck stayed planted but got ready to bolt, this time for another Candidate. Whatever had passed between him and Power had been quite negative. Just give him the word and he would be there. Why was Power so volatile? She was the same hatchling to careen into everyone earlier, after all.

Still laying on their side Tranquillity gave a few gentle rocks from side to side. Support gave another lurching shudder and the cracked across the surface began to collide, small flecks of dark shell popping away from the pressure. It was Tranquillity, however, with their consistent and gentle working that hatched first. The egg morphed as the dragon within shifted, giving way completely as the youngster stretched to their full length. The shell fell away in chunks, leaving the first male of the clutch exposed. Laying on his side the dragon stretched out his limbs as though he had just awoken from a nap, rather than fighting his way out of his egg. The young dragon seemed unconcerned with how closely many in the cavern were now watching him. Just as he was unconcerned with his sister charging towards some unfortunate. The hatchling was dark, which led to some debatability towards his colour. Brown or bronze? Even in a usual clutch this would be something to stir discussion. But given the dragon's parents and the uncharted territory of his birth it caught more focus than even normally.
Getting to his feet Tranquillity gave another mighty stretch. Turning his snout the youngster watched as he opened his wings, the dragon rising to his full height and showing how much larger he was than his two sisters. A few experimental flaps, slowly whirling sapphire orbs taking in each detail of the motion. As the dragon seemed to discover himself the damp remnants of his confinement dried, removing any doubt. A green could clutch a bronze, and a blue could father them. Folding his wings away, Tranquillity turned his large eyes to the crowd before him. Stepping away from the clutch his gaze roamed the group, gliding from face to face as he slowly made his way towards them.

Maddeck The healer could not see the cracks forming on the last two eggs, but their movements were unmistakable. Tranquility's egg seemed to squirm like a living creature in its final throes before the hatchling finally broke free; the illusion was gone. In its place a dark brownish dragon much larger than his siblings seemed in no hurry to Impress. Why were they all so slow to do so? Was this an unprecedented thing? Perhaps they had pairs outside of the ring of candidates. He glanced at the Weyrleaders for a clue.
Mennick Mennick found himself staring at the newborn bronze in amazement. This was incredibly good news! The Weyr, and indeed the whole world, was saved! Probably. He tried not to wake Silvie, but it was difficult to contain that sense of elation.

A male! V' beamed with pride and folded her arms across her chest with a satisfied air about her; Lith had proven that greens could produce both more greens and male dragons, and what more could anyone ask than that? They'd be able to re-populate, and if they were really lucky they might have enough dragons before the new Pass arrived to keep most of the Holds safe.
"Any bets on what he is?" V' asked as she leaned forward again, squinting a bit to get a better look at him in the glowlight. "It's hard to tell, him all shiny and wet from the egg. Will he be able to tell us?" Did dragons just know their colour or did they work it out from what humans said and thought about them?

As V' folded her arms D'lana let out a small breath she'd been holding since the Support egg started to move in earnest, it was the one she had pinned hopes on for a bronze or brown and now here he was. Here he was, but what he was she couldn't quite tell. That wasn't terribly uncommon with browns and bronzes especially when eggs hatched in poor light as they were now but given his strange looking sisters D'lana couldn't help but wonder if something more was at play here.
"I'm sure we will know soon enough," she said with a small smile to V' and to their assembled guests. "Whichever he is, I am glad to see him." She would be much gladder once the hatchlings Impressed! It sometimes took a little while for them to find their feet and seek their bondeds but she was beginning to have real concerns about Power.

F’ked and Blue LerenthF’ked watched worried as things started to get dicey for a certain candidate. What was the boy doing? Something stupid, of course. The rider could only sigh and shake his head. There is a healthy fellow. Lerenth crooned to his first son. F’ked nodded with approval. That just left Support left to hatch. Perhaps it’d be a blue too? Servitor LoryanHe wondered how the dragonets shifted through all the candidates. With so few, there were so many candidates hoping to be The One. It must have been intimidating, though one green didn’t seem to think so. How would he do it? Loryan wasn’t a dragon and it didn’t really matter. He tried to focus back on the Hatching. Oooo there a dark dragonet had hatched. Bronze or brown? He grinned as he heard the sighs from around him as the bronze revealed himself for what he was. Candidate TuranvesHe could see it coming. She was coming for him. Turan lowered his eyes to the sands. He couldn’t help it. He thought he was the best and she was the best. Shouldn’t the best go together? No, I can’t pick for you. I’m sure you’ll find the best rider for you.Turan wouldn’t move though. If she really wanted to maul him, then she could. He wouldn’t run. He cast a slight, almost sad smile at the green mother. There really wasn’t anywhere to hide on the sands, but he appreciated her thought.

It was obvious that nothing was going to sway Power as she charged towards the candidate. Turanves didn't move and the green made no motion to stop in the face of his surrender. The green was only a few feet away from the lad when she lowered her head, slamming it into the candidates stomach and shoving him backwards. One hop and the green put distance between them once again, he gaze still swirling with angry reds. Giving a snort of distaste she turned and walked away, giving a purposeful kick with her back leg that sent sand flying towards the lad. Pathetic. The candidate had thought to criticise her, but had crumpled at the first sign on adversity. Seemed this one was all bark and no bite. As if she would ever settle for someone like that. Turanves wasn't even given another glance from the green as she began to inspect other candidates.
Tranquillity had paused briefly to watch his sister, but as she began to walk away he too moved on. The bronze was seemingly being very thorough in his approach. He looked into each candidate's face in turn, but his gentle gaze would inevitably slide away. Unlike his sister's dismissal there didn't seem to really be any negativity associated with him moving on. Stopping in front of Amila the dragon cocked his head. Blue eyes seemed to take in every detail of the candidate, then pivoted to look up at all the larger dragons in the stands above him. A rumble crawled up the dragon's throat, adjusting until it resembled the humming of the dragons around him. It was then that his eyes slid back to the candidate, at which point his humming began to shift once more. Away from the long low notes of his kin, morphing to resemble the tune that the candidate had been humming. Even as he mimicked the bronze didn't reveal much in the way of emotion, simply watching the candidate in front of him as he drank in this new experience.
Only one egg remained intact, and it seemed that Support was not overly fond of this. The egg continued to give determined shudders, but it seemed to do little to actually improve their condition. The was until a section of egg finally relented. Near the top of the egg a section exploded outwards as a small dragon foot kicked through. There was a startled peeping as the dark leg began to wave about. Possibly part of the dragon's difficulty may have been linked to the fact that the leg sticking out of the top of the egg was almost certainly a rear leg, meaning that the dragon in question was almost certainly upside-down. Toes flexed as she (For the dark green hide meant that the dragon inside was a she) wiggled her leg around, possibly trying to figure out what exactly was going on.

When were they going to Impress? V' watched as Power made her brief charge at Turanves, chewing on the corner of her thumbnail without realising it. They were going to Impress, right? Support was finally hatching as well, looked like another green, but it was no sharding good if they couldn't find their riders! "Come on," V' muttered, pulling her hand away from her mouth and frowning at the sands. "It's not like they've not got enough choice!" _______________________ "Sometimes hatchlings need a little while, I've seen it take longer," D'lana replied with deliberate calm and a little smile to V'; this was more for the benefit of the Holders than the girl herself, she ought to know better than to let impatience show, or the doubt that her nail-chewing hinted at.

Power marched across the sands, passing candidates with only brief glances. Her eyes whirled an uneasy mix of orange and blue, every now and then pulsing with red. The young green was obviously on edge, lacking anything close to the excitable attitude of before. She came to a stop in front of a candidate that wasn't even looking at her.
Turning her body fully towards the candidate the green let out an irritable squawk, stamping her foot as she did. Viri! Why are you not focusing on your Oximath! The green demanded. Her face was as close to a pout as a dragon could get as her eyes swirled brightly with the rainbow of impression. Adoration flooded Cliviri's mind as the bond was made. On it's tail came Oximath's irritation. They had tried to change her, Viri! She hated that! They didn't know better than her! They didn't! She knew what was best for her! Underneath the young dragon's anger though, Cliviri would be able to see her hurt. They doubted her. Thought she wasn't good enough. She had been out such a short time and she had heard so many thoughts against her. Why did they do it? Maybe she wasn't perfect, but they didn't have to say such mean things. Beneath all her bluster something in Oximath reached out desperately for Cliviri's approval. Had he not been looking because she wasn't good enough? All of Oximath was laid bare the the young trader in that moment.

Manila hummed, watching quietly as the eggs hatched, gently minding she was a bit out of any angry dragon's paths before watching a green impress.
Ah-- good she had Jers, and that meant she might feel better! Mails nodded, and resumed watching, especially poor Support. A leg out like that! The poor gentle baby!

Oh! Oh dear! Cliviri had been so worried for Maddeck that he hadn’t focused on the hatching. He was sure to be scolded. And he was, but not by the candidatemaster. The dragon who’d stormed about angrily and caused fear to worm into his heart was speaking to him.
“Oximath?” he echoed. He’d never expected to impress. And now what did he do with his feelings for Maddeck? He didn’t think he could push them aside. “I’m sorry they upset you,” he said. “They don’t know any better.”
But she’d have to learn to control her temper. They’d work on that together. “Why didn’t you come find me straight off? You didn’t have to charge at dimglows.”

Maddeck / Sands / Healer, medic
To say he was shocked at the final outcome between Power and that candidate would have been an understatement. To see her Impression was like a kick in the gut. He felt a mix of different emotions fighting for control. He stayed seated. But Viri? Perhaps he was frightened of the green and could not admit it even to himself. But perhaps he also admired her for finishing her argument with Turanves without bloodshed. Perhaps she really was the one perfect for Viri. Perhaps he was the one perfect for her. So in the end Maddeck also felt lost. Where would he fit into Viri's life, now? Would he be cast aside? What he felt for Viri had blossomed into something more than just friendship. It was not something Maddeck could just cast aside. Perhaps he'd just go back to his books, in the worst case scenario, if Viri did not want them both in his life. But if Viri was determined to continue with their relationship, Maddeck would fight anyone for it. Oh yes he would. He mused on this aa little longer as he watched the last egg struggle to break free. Support was in an unfortunate position with her leg on the high side of her egg. You can do it, little one.
Mennick / Stands / Healer, mind
Fascinated, Mennick relaxed in his seat. The little Power Green had shown an intriguing new side to her character as she did not maul the candidate. Instead she head-butted him and left him. Oh she... she is remarkable, he thought to himself, ignorant to the possibility that the hatchling may have heard his thoughts. But he would not have cared. She seemed to have attached herself to Maddeck's boyfriend. The Mind Healer would have plenty of opportunity to get to know her, and he looked forward to it.

In typical hatchling fashion, Tranquillity rather quickly lost interest in this humming thing and moved on. He passed along the row of candidates until he came to the very last one. The bronze stopped, looking at the empty space and blinking. He didn't have to look back, he had been very thorough, inspecting every face among the candidates. There was no way that he had missed the one he wanted. Slowly the bronze turned his head upwards looking up into the stands. There were a lot of people up there, but he had time. Eyes quickly scanned the crowded. He didn't stop for more than a heartbeat on anyone in particular. His eyes passed over Mennick in the stands before roaming onwards.
Ah, there you are. A soothing whisper flowed into the young Servitor's mind. Pivoting his body, Tranquillity showed no hesitation, as he made his way across the sands. Rainbows locked onto Loryan as the dragon poured into the youth. Seeping into every space until his heart and mind were full of nothing but the bronze. You didn't make yourself very easy to find up there, Loryan, but it's alright. Your Washawath forgives you. The bronze crooned, reaching the edge of the sands the young dragon didn't pause before starting to climb up into the stands. His was up there, why would he be anywhere else?
Back on the sands, Support's troubles continued. Beside her sat her sister, Reserve watching the egg's movements with a cool, blue, gaze. The pale green has barely moved all hatching, sitting among the shattered remnants of her shell, watching the activity around her with an unblinking gaze. Support shuddered, a broad, green, wing erupting out of the shell. The egg however was certainly a sturdy one, as it remained in place even as this newest limb flailed about. From within the shell came a rather miserable whine, the wing slumping as the dragon's latest attempt failed.
It was only then that Reserve moved. The pale green closed her eyes. Her sharply featured chest rose in what must have been a deep intake of breath. It held for a heartbeat, two, before softly rushing out. Slowly opening her eyes the green stood, within the blink of an eye she was beside Support, her motion swift and just a touch unnatural to look at. Her cool gaze regarded the egg carefully even while her sibling peeped and trilled at her. After a few moments of inspection, the green lifted her forelimb, placing a single claw against the shell. The tip of her claw found a split in the shell, easily passing through. A sharp twist of her wrist and the fissure split wide, releasing her now squealing sister onto the sands.
Support made sounds much akin to laughter as she rolled about in the sand, far too fast for anyone to see much more than a wriggling green hatchling. Rolling over the chubby, newly hatched, dragon jumped to her feet. She stood nose to nose with her sister, who was just a breath taller than her. Although that was perhaps because Reserve stood straight, while Support seemed more intent on shuffling than good posture. Leaning forward she licked the full length of the pale green's snout, before prancing away. A visible shudder passed through Reserve, who seemed otherwise frozen to the spot in shock. Support meanwhile happily danced around her sister. Completely oblivious to just how wrong she was. The earlier greens' odd colours, those could be forgiven. But this? What was wrong with her face? Something was growing on her face!
