General Benitoite chooses to check the basement for any sign of a shard.

Rolling his eyes at Strengite's behavior, as he really wasn't surprised by it, he watched as she spoke to his cousin and couldn't hold back his laughter. "My dear...I know for a fact you two didn't spend any sort of fantastic night together. The only sort of night you'd consider fantastic would be with someone in a bed...and I know my cousin rather well." He stated with a smile as he glanced between the two. "But you can try and convince everyone else if it pleases you." Rolling his eyes as they continued on with their search, i nthe hopes of finding a less noisy way into the marketplace area.

When they did fine a part of the fence that was lower, much lower, he was glad. Climbing over it was rather easy and he wondered if it wasn't too easy. Not that he suspected a trap but just that something would have to go wrong in order to balance out the ease at which they got past the gate.

It was thus no shock when the ground under them gave out, as they were headed toward the other group that had attacked the chain. Landing with a thump and a pained sound he picked himself up slowly - gingerly. "Damn it." Cursing as his gloved hands moved to dust himself off. "Everyone ok?" Calling out while he tried to do his best to see around them.

"We're looking for a crystal shard Strengite...." He didn't want to risk getting hurt, that would just hinder the mission but they did need to find the crystal shard...and those plants were interesting. Drifting over toward them, not just to look for the shard, he was interested in them. Perhaps after all of this he could get permission to come back on his own for them...to research of course, and decorate his office with.

"Cuprite, Hatsya you're both ok?"

Captain Piypite chooses to head to the Clothing Merchants and buy a new outfit. {10pts)

As the chains fell open in their hands, Piy couldn't help but grin. All too soon they would walk in and be done with...

"Oh!" Her voice took on a rather song light note as red eyes quickly scanned the stalls. How oh how could she have forgotten the Festival!

Eyes lighting up at the clothing vendors, she made a bee-line after a male in some sort of suit.

"Hey, saw it first." She purred, eying some of the fabric.

Pyrite chooses to search the basement for A way out.

Snarling as she fell into what she considered the foulest thing to have even existed to fall into simply because she fell into it, Pyrite wanted out. She wanted out yesterday. Her mouth was open in toothy grimace as she dusted her clothes, wanting to stab the nearest annoyance. In fact stabbing something seemed like a good idea. A very good idea. When it doubt. Stab it out. That was a good motto.

Who told it to her again?
Oh well, it didn't matter. She was going to kill something eventually. Summoning her daggers, the captain began to stab at the walls, intent on finding a new path past the stone. Or... just getting some of her anger out. (It was a bit of both really).

(Corrupt Sailor Hatsya) chooses to search the basement for A way out.

As the dust settled around them, Hatsya could be heard coughing from several feet away. The fall itself had knocked the bloody wind out of her so when she had finally been able to draw in a gasping breath it was an action she near immediately came to regret.

Why? Every time he had all but forced her to do anything it always ended with her in some sort of pain. Carelessly summoning her to him mid battle so they ended up in a tangled mess on top of a pair of broken chairs, teleporting her in front of a Prince only to be nearly beaten to death by sharp shards of hail and now this. If she didn’t know any better Hatsya would have assumed she had part Mao in her blood because there went three lives.

“I’m fine,” she finally bit out in irritation, groaning as she rolled over. Her shoulder throbbed like something fierce but it was nothing in comparison to what she went through the last time she was summoned to the rift.

Once Hatsya finally got her barings she looked around for something sharp to use as a makeshift tool or weapon. A rock or piece of crystal would do well enough to protect her from any youma that tried to attack as they worked to find a way out. Hell with this gear they were supposed to find, she would be damned if this place would be her grave. But if she was doomed to die her, it definitely would be alone.

Lieutenant Alabaster chooses to head to the Clothing Merchants and buy a new outfit ( 10 pts )

He'd forgotten what it was that he was supposed to be doing. A growling in his stomach told him that he was hungry - perhaps he should go get food?

No - no, the important thing was clothes (when hadn't it been) and he needed to go and get something wonderful, something impressive because what else would he wear to a festival? Alabaster knew that looking good was a crucial part in getting others to regard you in a certain light, and besides; he did tend to pride himself on just how well he accomplished that.

To the Merchant's it was, then!

Sailor Zubenelgenubi chooses to check the basement for any sign of a shard. [ Points so far +5 +3 ]

"You always exaggerate, I wouldn't tumble into some pit. I'd obviously see it coming." Sometimes she thought 'Mali really thought she was completely helpless. Yeah, she could be a little bit of a klutz at times, but she didn't think she'd be that bad. Even though they hadn't actually made it into the Market yet, the architecture around them was quite amazing to see. And also, unfortunately, must have been handled quite diligently by whoever put it together. It was amazing how well it stood the test of time and the rift.

Just as she was about to give up and say they should go help with the chain out front, they all found any opening. It was easy enough to step over the fractured piece of Wall. Though, she wondered what could have possibly knocked it down. The rest of the structure was still perfectly in tact, and yet this one area was almost completely toppled.

As they all got over she could see that the other group had succeeded in breaking the chain. "See, got through without any effort. Woo." Just as the words left her mouth though, the ground rumbled beneath their feet and she was falling. She hated when 'Mali was right.

Sailor Zubeneschamali chooses to check the basement for any sign of a shard.

"You'd see it coming, and then tumble inside." This time, 'Mali grinned at his sister, sticking his tongue out immaturely when he knew no one else was paying them any mind. He had an appearance to keep up, after all, even IF no one knew who they were.

A moment of ignorance and distraction later, he felt the ground rumble, just a little, and had just a split moment to grab his sister's arm before they fell.

And when they DID land, luckily they were both safe, with 'Nubi squishing the life out of 'Mali.

"Ahhh, you're good right? Please get off of my ribs before they crack any more than they already have, ughhhh...."

Up on their feat again, after a heavy inspection that nothing was, in fact, broken, he looked around, sighing.

"Come on, we have a mission, right? Something, something shards, something, you know. Can't slack now."

Lt. Cuprite chooses to check the basement for any sign of a shard.

[Points: 5 + 3]

Cuprite grinned and his eyes sparkled with amusement as the other Lieutenant inserted herself right into the situation and conversation. "My dear Lady Strengite, I fear I have indeed been remiss in correspondence with you and must beg your pardon. One should never leave a beauty such as yourself wanting." His tone was a mix of playfulness and amusement with maybe a dash of real regret as he did indeed tend to forget to contact the rest of his cousin's team most of the time. When she took his arm he righted it so it was in the proper form to escort her rather then it just being one sided. His amusement grew at Benitoite's laughter and words to Strengite's actions, and the taller blond gave his cousin a playful wink.

"How have you been my dear Lady? I trust you have been in good cheer and health?" While he was still speaking more flowery then he normally would thanks to playing along with her, he did indeed mean his questions and was curious to see how she had been doing.

However while this was going on, Cuprite was still paying the wall a lot of attention and trying to find a way through it as well as kept a portion of his attention on any incoming youma. Thankfully nothing attacked them and the group as a whole found a knocked down section they could fit through. Since it was more of a single file type of entryway, Cuprite let Strengite through first, helping her through like the gentleman his words would have suggested he was earlier. Of course once they were across that's when things took a different turn and they were dropped down into a basement.

Waving away the dust that stirred up thanks to the fall, Cuprite gave a cough to clear his throat as he got to his feet. "Everyone alright?" He could hear Benitoite asking basically the same thing and the General didn't sound distressed but knowing his cousin like he did, Cuprite only took that with a grain of salt until he could look him over himself. Though he doubted the small fall actually damaged Benitoite, as small as he was he was strong after all. "I'm alright, nothing to worry about here." He answered as he got to work looking around for the crystal shard.

[Prompt 3a - Answers]

Choice 1

Your character heads down the street, but all of the tailor’s shoppes are packed! While they are waiting outside in a line to get in, they notice the Smithy across the street has some kind of demonstration happening inside. Curious as to what is going on, they abandon the line and join the crowd inside of the Blacksmith’s shop.

Once they are inside, they realize it’s a group of Earth Knights! They’re showing off their weapons and giving small demonstrations of their fighting ability in hopes to recruit knew Knights into the academy. Your character is so intrigued that they stay and watch the demonstrations, completely forgetting about what they were doing before.

+3 points

(This group will respond to prompt 4c)

Choice 2

The food stalls are relatively easy to navigate compared to the tailor shops and the blacksmith’s forge down the street. Your character is able to find all the vegetables, meats and fruits that they could want. There is a small sense of accomplishment as they walk through the stalls with full baskets.

+5 points

(This group will respond to prompt 4a)

[Prompt 3b - Answers]

Choice 1

Your character and the group that joined them manage to find a staircase that leads to the ground level. As they walk up the stairs, the world around them shifts in a shimmering haze, as if a great heat wave was passing over them. They climb out onto the ground floor to find that they are in the apothecary. Several other customers are already there shopping around for different herbal remedies, but don’t pay your character any attention as they join them. Most people are outside shopping for the Mayday festival tomorrow, but since you went through all the trouble of getting here, it wouldn’t hurt to peruse the wares a bit.

+5 points

(This group will respond to prompt 4b)

Choice 2

As part of your group goes on ahead to find the exit, your character wanders through the rooms branching off of the main hall. At last, they find the source of the terrible stink filling the entire basement - a room full of rotting, decaying plants that have somehow managed to avoid being crystallized. They have degraded to little more than dry, brown husks but the smell they emit is enough to make your character a little dizzy and nauseated.

They have to walk out of the room and take a few deep breaths to steady themselves before they can continue on.

+3 points

(This group will respond to prompt 4b)

Prompt 4a

Suddenly, a loud shriek echoes through the area and the characters that had been browsing the wares of the food stalls are suddenly thrust back into the stark, cold reality of the dilapidated marketplace. What had once been a row of stalls and fences with elegant displays were now crumbled in upon themselves. In each character’s hands are a variety of different bits of wood and stone - all useless.

They drop what had been delicious, appetizing food not moments before and look around them to locate the rest of their group. They can see them inside the remnants of the smithy down the street, still laughing and clapping for an illusion only they can see. There is obviously something going on here and they need help.

Will your character run inside and try to wake them up, or distract them from outside?

[Choice 1]:
There’s a sense of urgency surrounding the area and your character knows they simply don’t have time to try and find a way to distract the characters inside the smithy. Instead, they rush down the street and decide to try and drag them away from whatever illusion is keeping them captive.

If your character decides to go inside the smithy, please copy the text below and include it in your post:
(CHARACTER NAME) chooses to try and Wake Up the characters trapped inside the Smithy.

[Choice 2]:
Everything here seems a little fishy. Your character isn’t sure what caused them to hallucinate in the first place and there is absolutely no sign of what is keeping the characters in the smithy from waking up. Instead of running inside to wake them up, they decide the best option is getting their attention from outside.

If your character decides to stay outside, please copy the text below and include it in your post:
(CHARACTER NAME) chooses to to try and Get Attention from outside.

~

Prompt 4b

Suddenly, a loud shriek echoes through the area and the characters that had been browsing the apothecary are woken up from the illusion just as the rest of their team enters from the basement below. Unlike the soldiers looking around the marketplace outside who are disappointed by the actual lack of wares, your character realizes that the apothecary itself is relatively unharmed. Many of the ‘potions’ they were investigating are really there.

Will your character continue to search the apothecary, or head outside to investigate the roar?

[Choice 1]:
If so many of these tinctures and balms have stood the test of time, they might be worth looking at. Who knows what might be found hidden among this age old store? Someone else can go out and figure out what that roar is until your character has satisfied their curiosity.

If your character decides to continue searching the apothecary, please copy the text below and include it in your post:
(CHARACTER NAME) chooses to search the Apothecary and investigate the ‘potions’.

[Choice 2]:
That roar sounded really dangerous - especially since there isn’t anything your character has seen so far that would make such a sound. There can’t be anything in this shop that would be worth letting a comrade get injured over, and your character decides to head outside and find the source of the noise.

If your character decides to head outside and investigate, please copy the text below and include it in your post:
(CHARACTER NAME) chooses to investigateOutside for the source of the roar.

~

Prompt 4c

The Earth Knights are really putting on a show! But they’re doing such a good job that a lot of people are starting to flood into the Blacksmith’s shop now and it’s getting more than a little crowded now. Will your character stay and watch the rest of the demonstration, or will they head back outside to continue shopping?

[Choice 1]:
The demonstration is almost over and your character can tell that there’s going to be a great finale! Even though people are coming inside, others are slowly leaving to make room for them, and there’s no reason to go anywhere.

If your character decides to stay inside and continue watching, please copy the text below and include it in your post:
(CHARACTER NAME) chooses to Stay Insideand watch the rest of the demonstration.

[Choice 2]:
Everyone knows that if you want to beat the crowd, you have to leave the show a little early! Your character decides to sidle over to the edge of the shop and slip out while there’s still time. They really should get back to shopping for a nice outfit, anyway. Maybe the shops will be less crowded now that so many people are here to watch the show!

If your character decides to head outside and continue shopping, please copy the text below and include it in your post:
(CHARACTER NAME) chooses to head Back Outside to continue shopping.

Captain Wardite chooses to to try and Get Attention from outside. [+5, +5, +5]

Worthless wood and stone did not a meal make - and for a split second irrational rage suffused through Wardite's entire being, but he stamped it down and tempered it. His brain had definitely been messed with and he did not like that at all. Moreover, he could see that the others who had come through the gate - those that hadn't been through the food stalls at any rate - weren't coming too, instead standing around the inside of a ruined smithy cheering at.... God knew what.

But like HELL was he stepping food in that place if they still weren't coming too. Whatever that shriek was wasn't good - and they needed people up and at 'em.

But he could get their attention from range - he had all the tools he needed at his disposal. He started to throw the rocks and pieces of wood at the folks in the smithy - hoping to hit them in the body or the leg - but if he beaned on in the head... Oh well, oops.

Though he did make a point to TRY and not sock Piy in the noggin - if only because she was his partner.

Lt. Neptunite- (10 pts)

Oh. really.

Neptunite shot the woman a chilly look with an delicately arched eyebrow, sizing her up to decide whether or not he should call her bluff, and entirely prepared to make a catty comment on the chances of the outfit suiting her coloration. Such as she had... anyway, pale with straw blond hair. Several shades shy of the famous (and he thought he recalled not even naturally blonde) blond beauty of ages gone by.

She was young looking, and, well... ugh. It was a public event and he had a reputation, though he might unload later to Liv about the girls taste....

"With your coloration?" He demanded, lifting his chin critically, and wracking his brain for color combinations that might work. ".... Consider the brown velvet." He suggested, reaching over to lift a hem of the garment in question, with it's hints of amber he thought might make the most of her dark eyes and her hair.

Also if she let go of the very nice subtle brocade he had his eyes on, so much the better. It was not well mannered to simply grab it and walk away, much as he suspected he might get away with it.

Well he'd REALLY hoped to get that outfit he was after, but watching the knights show was, well it was interesting. There were ideas he might be able to incorporate into performances or something. It wasn't as though any of them lined up with his personal skill set, but if he could pick up enough of an idea to fake it, well that was something.

Lieutenant Argellite chooses to search the Apothecary and investigate the ‘potions’.

"O-ow..." For a long moment Argellite didn't try to get up as the dust settled around them, and lay there trying to feel out her body, moving one part at a time to be sure nothing had been broken. Nothing seemed to be, but her hands hurt, and she'd banged her knee off something on the way down that left his tender and throbbing and not broken. When she was sure she wasn't going to cause herself more damage she sat up, rubbing at her side before looking over at Chrysie as she asked if she was alright.

"Yeah, I think so?" Did she just call me Angel?" "No worries. I don't though anyone would've thought the floor'd just drop out from under us like that." With a grunt she pushed herself up to her feet, but then grimaced as Chrysie bent double and emptied her stomach on a crystal flower.

Gloved hands drew ginger curls back from the other girl's face, holding her hair back while she finished up. When she had, Argellite offered a steadying arm as she lead the way towards a door set in one stone wall.

Through it they found themselves in what looked like some crazy old shop with jars and bottles and bundles of dried plants lining the shelves on the walls. "What is this place?" Brows creased, she leaned in to examine one of the bottles a little more closely. "It looks like something out of some fantasy story."
