Hearing the door unlock, Avelyn's heart thudded roughly in her chest. She put on a shy smile, following him into the house. She smiled at his joke, carefully pulling her flats off and neatly placing them with the others. "Alright." She replied, shifting her backpack to her shoulder.

Hearing the footsteps then Malikah exhale roughly, startled her. Her claw touched her chest as she inhaled and exhaled to try and calm herself. She certainly hadn't expected the smaller child to just appear... but.. he was so CUTE!

Being introduced to him, Avelyn crouched down so she didn't look so tall. "Hi Abasi. My name is Avelyn." She introduced herself with a soft smile. She gave an adoring look to Malikah before looking back to Abasi. "So, what's your favorite thing to do here?" She asked him.

Avelyn watched as the smaller child started to reach for her tail then stopped. "Oh, have you seen a nixie before?" She asked with a smile, "You can touch my tail if you want. It's not exactly soft right now though." She told them. She wondered how often any of Malikah's siblings saw Nixies... the younger kids anyway. She was certain that his older siblings had seen them before.

A bright smile lit up her face as Abasi said they liked to eat but before she could comment, Malikah told the child that she was great at doing something she had never even done before. Her face went red with embarrassment, not wanting to throw Malikah under the bus but also not wanting Abasi to think she is something she certainly is not. "Oh... I.. Sure.. We can make some food.. " She replied finally, rubbing her neck. "Do you guys eat like a family or separately?" She asked, considering asking Abasi if they wanted to help by setting the table.... A chef or not.. she had a little kidding expecting a great meal... what did Malikah get her into?
