imgleft]http://res.cloudinary.com/starstone/image/upload/v1502766170/NMA/Students/Ophion/OpiPB.png[/imgleft] Ophion watched her expression, curiously, wondering what was going on in her head when she looked so very stunned. Once she spoke, though, he could not help but smile, and chuckle a little. "No, you are not in Wonderland or any such madness. You are just with a friend who understands what it is like to have a lot going on in your head, and a need to organize it all so that the important parts do not get lost or confused." He gave a shrug, his two tone eyes glittering with understanding and warm friendship. "And yeah. The mask is not easy to maintain, even with years of practice."
He nodded slowly, glad she felt the same about the level of trust they could have around each other. It was a rare thing to have a friend like this, he knew that for sure, and having found each other was going to be good for them both, he felt. "I do feel the same, Yaruka. I would not be as open about certain things, or invite you to find out certain information so freely, if not. And I, too, am glad that you feel you can be this open as well." He sighed, softly, a relaxed and comfortable sigh at the thought.
He started, surprised, when her phone went off, not having expected it. He blinked and waited patiently, seeing what was going on. Her expression made him smile, and her words made his smile even more. "Oh, good luck! Congratulations! I hope you get the job, you deserve it." He clapped his hands and then settled back in his seat. "You will have to update me once you know if you got the job. I look forwards to hearing about it. But so soon, too. Do you need to get home to start preparing? Do you have a interview outfit?" He did not want the afternoon to end, but he also knew that a potential job took far more precedence, and he wanted her to be able to have all the time she needed.

Yaruka just looked up at Ophion when he spoke, his words sinking in and giving her a sense of peace and ease that she hadn't really felt in quite a while. She smiled at him with a warmth that bright color and light to her face, happy to know that someone could understand her....especially when she sometimes didn't understand herself. It felt good to be able to trust someone so much again.
Ophion's smile encouraged her feelings of relief and excitement. She wasn't quite giddy but she was damn close to it; she hadn't expected anyone to respond to her applications, let alone this company. They seemed beginner friendly, though, and that had encouraged her to at least try. "I'll absolutely let you know what happens....but oh man, I wasn't even expecting any interest." As he questioned if she needed to go home to get ready for it, asking about an interview outfit, it hit her that she had not prepared for this in the slightest. If anything, she had been expecting nothing but rejection. "...Oh Nine, I'm not ready for this at all....I-I have to figure out what to wear, practice answering interview questions....figure out what else you do at an interview!?" She sounded a little nervous but she was smiling, looking up at her friend as it dawned on her just how underprepared she was. "I really don't want this to end...but I think I have a lot of work to do to get ready for this. I mean, I've never interviewed for a job before....I'm freaking crazy, aren't I?" She asked with a nervous laugh; crap, don't freak out when the interview hasn't even happened yet!

Ophion smiled back, with equal warmth, glad to see that expression on his friend's face. It meant a lot to him, to be able to make her feel good enough to smile like that. He knew how hard it was to deal with stress like this alone, and he hoped to continue to be there for her, help her through the difficulties and pain.
He chuckled happily at her reactions, at first, then shook his head at her. "No. None of that line of thinking. You are not crazy, you are just a first time interviewee. Everyone has to go through that at some point. There is nothing wrong with you. You just need time to gather your thoughts, figure out what you need to do, and be ready to go. I suggest taking a trip to the department stores downtown... They have plenty of ready-wear outfits that are business situation appropriate, and plenty of them are reasonably priced. A second hand shop might also have what you need, but it would be more of a risk, because of the chance of not getting things that coordinate properly."
He brushed his fingers through his hair for a moment, then nodded. "And as for practice questions, and all... I know some very good websites that give advice for that sort of thing, and questions to answer. Some have forums where you can post answers you think work, and people will give you reviews and advice. Want me to send them to you when I get home?"

Yaruka could feel herself on the verge of a potential panic attack as she realized how unprepared for this she actually was when Ophion's voice saying 'no' snapped her out of it. She just sat there quiet for a moment, listening to his words and watching him....almost hyper-focused on him and his presence. She looked like a deer in headlights at first but his rational words were slowly calming her down, allowing her to relax and settle back into the present. "....Right....I should go to a store and find something appropriate to wear. Simple...professional; I'm showcasing myself, not the clothing, after all.." She mused with a small laugh. In truth, she hadn't been shopping for clothes in quite some time and likely needed advice on proper attire for such things. She already had a feeling that it involved stepping outside of her comfort zone.
When he mentioned offering to direct her to some websites that would help her with practice questions and advice, she smiled in a mixture of admiration and relief. "That would be amazing....thank you so much." She pushed some stray strands of hair back behind her ears, earning a flick from the overtly fluffy appendages. "I feel like such a fish out of water. I'm literally going from being a veritable hermit to putting myself out in front of influential people to be measured up and judged. I think this is going to be more stressful than my finals were...hah..." Yaruka looked up at him with a half smile and lifted her cup. "Gonna need another of these for a study session tonight, right? Tonight's class; How Not To Blow An Interview 101." She giggled slightly before lightly facepalming. "....I'm so sorry for that blatant display of dork....but I really am appreciative of the help."

Ophion watched her calm down, his eyes focused on hers. Once she was settled, he smiled and nodded calmly. "I'd suggest basic black, with MAYBE a white shirt? Black looks professional, doesn't show stains usually, if something happens... Like if someone spills coffee on you or some such." The laugh was a good sign, as was the fact that she was able to calm herself, when she was given some sort of direction.
"Excellent! I will give you those links as soon as I am home, then. I use them regularly, for refreshing, any time a contract is up. It is part of why I am so calm about the thought of interviews." He laughed, then sighed, shaking his head. "I have to pimp my skills out regularly, in the end. Down side to being a contractor, primarily." He sighed, then shrugged a little. "And no, you are not being a dork. You are being a first timer to interviewing. It is a part of life that almost everyone eventually has to go through. And we are ALL nervous and panicky when it comes on us." He finished his drink, then tilted his head. "And I will be rooting for you."

She was listening to him rather intently, nodding slightly; she was definitely going to go with black. It was safe and professional and, like he said, basically stain camouflaging unless it was somehow brightly colored. "I was thinking white or a light pastel color....something basic or not too busy." She was thinking and trying to plan a little, still planning to ask the people at the department store.
Yaruka smiled when he sounded confident that the links would be of help, feeling more calm knowing how used to interviews he seemed to be. Her head tilted as he explained that being a contractor meant having to interview frequently as contracts did actually end. "Well, your skills probably include excellent interviewing abilities and good under pressure thanks to that. You're well practiced, if nothing else. I don't think I could do what you do; I've seen lines of code and felt dizzy just trying to look through the first line." She laughed a little at herself, knowing full well that complex numbers were her weakness. Hearing him say he'd be rooting for her made her smile and feel even more grateful that she had found a friend in him. "Thank you. It means a lot to me." She set her cup aside with a small sigh; she didn't want this to end. Still, with any luck, this job would get her towards having a place of her own where they could have future hang-outs and cook things together....and maybe, just maybe, she could find a skill to pursue and build a career on. "Well....I should probably get going so I can get a jumpstart on preparing for that interview. I can't bend time to make things last longer....but....would you mind if I took a picture to remember? This has honestly been one of the best days I've had in a long time." She wanted to capture at least one moment of it so she could look back and take encouragement from it.

"If you go pastel, I would say a pink or purple, but white is probably the best choice, I would say. I, at least, consider it a more... Professional color for job seeking? I could be wrong, of course. You could definitely ask on those forums I mentioned, and see what others have to say. After all, I have never applied for a Media manager position, and it is possible other clothes might be better for that."
Ophion smiled brightly and shrugged a little. "Well I'm good at putting on the mask of confident, self controlled job seeker, anyways, at this point. Experience has given me that much. And it is good you don't do what I do... I don't need more competition, my friend." He winked, to show that the last bit at the end was a joke. When she set the cup aside, he tilted his head, but her question earned her another bright smile. "Of course we can take a picture, Yaruka. Memories are good, but pictures are a great way to help preserve them, remind us of the good times, when we get the chance." He pulled out his phone, then stands and moves to her side, positioning himself, and waiting for her to be ready, wanting a copy of his own.

She nodded, considering his opinion and making a mental note of it. She honestly wasn't entirely certain what would work best but having an idea of what someone thought would work was better than going blindly.
Yaruka had to giggle a bit when he said that he didn't need more competition in his field, not that she could even compare or imagine what it would take to match his skills. It felt nice to joke like this and not feel like she was borderline insulting someone. When Ophion agreed to the picture, she smiled brighter and got into a good position with him in their cameras' view. "Alright....and....smile!" She flashed a true, brilliant smile as she tapped the button to capture an image....accidentally snapping three because she fumbled at first but still! She waited till he got the picture he wanted before she looked at the ones she had taken, finding the best one and setting it as his contact picture. "There. I think this one looks great. Ah.....oh this one got me half blinking, how ridiculous." She shook her head at the other two pictures that had snapped, looking at him with a smile. "Did yours turn out ok?"

Ophion gave a bright smile, and leaned just into the right position, and hit the button in time with hers. Once they were done, he straightened and examined the photo, then turned to smile at Yaruka. "I got a good one too." He showed her the photo, then set it to her contact picture as well, then leaned to hug her. "Now you go on. Get some rest, go shopping for that outfit. Remember that I'm rooting for you, and I'll send you those links as soon as I get home."

Yaruka checked out his picture and smiled brightly; it looked good, which she never really thought about pictures about herself. She hugged him back gently, a little stunned somehow by the gesture but happy for it. Clearly, she didn't get a chance to hug many people. "I will. I'll check a store or two as I go home...and thank you again for those links and your advice." She smiled up at him again, no longer feeling anxious as she did coming in...but now anxious about the afternoon ending. "I'll remember that I have a friend cheering me on...and if I forget, I'll look at the picture. Thank you, Ophion."
She gave him one last quick hug before she headed out, waving to him with a smile as she walked out the door. The world felt a little less scary, at least for now, and she didn't waste that precious time; with a quick search on her phone she headed to a nearby department store to check out some clothes for an idea of an interview ensemble. With both his advice in her mind and that of the store employees, her confidence was given a much needed boost. In the end, she found a nice affordable outfit and headed home to check out the links Ophion sent to her.
This was the beginning of better things...…
…….she hoped.Aria Starstone This can be the ending post unless you want to add one more on your end.
