Dovian listened and cringed whenever someone involving him was brought up. Wasn't like he meant to get everyone into all that trouble. He lowered his eyes and stared at the desk rather than at Hestian. Of course, he was trying to figure out what all his mother had done. When mention of Gorvis trying to recruit a cook, however, he looked toward his mother with wide eyes. Was that why he'd sent that one guy after their mom?
He missed the old being passed over since he was too busy staring at his mother but when Shura nudged him he blinked and looked at her before giving the boss man his attention. "O-Oh.. ahem.." He got up and pulled something out of his bag before moving to place it on the desk as well. "I'm sorry for causing so much trouble." What he laid there was one of his creations. He'd asked his dad about symbols to etch into it so it would fit with the guild. A stunning damascus dagger with a ivory handle complete with etchings and designs, as well as a few gems, to really say he was sorry. To date it was the best piece he'd ever made and he was sad to see it go.

The leafling stayed quiet as she listened. Though her eyes never left the man behind the desk. When Bushi handed over a poch of money she didn't seem to blink. As her son handed over a work of art she took a deep breath. It was her turn then wasn't it? But there was something that the man behind the desk had said that she had no control over. So Phaedra got to her feet and moved to set the small covered crate on the desk for him. "I can't provide a safe haven for your people where I work. It is not mine to set such rules. I can however, cook meals when needed but no one is to go near my children." As she spoke she removed the small cover on the crate and revealed the treats within. Most of them still dripping with glaze and fruit flavoring. "I will not tolerate anyone else in your guild coming close to my kids. Consider what happened to Gorvis a warning if you wish." She knew she shouldn't have said such things since Bushi might be in trouble but Phae had to make it very clear. Dovian and Shura were off limits. She didn't care if it was an accident. Turning to return to her seat she glanced at Bushi, giving him an apologetic look, then moved the few steps she needed to sit down.

Hestian looked down at the dagger that was placed before him on the desk, reaching out to pick it up, and set to inspecting it. It was a good piece for someone so young. He could tell that Bushi's son had talent, though he would likely want to continue to work hard on the skill so he could continue to make such piece. After the inspection was through he tucked the dagger away along with the money that had been given to him, accepting both tributes graciously before he said, "If you ever open a shop let me know. I would be interested in acquiring more of your pieces in the future."
His attention then went to the crate that was placed before him, giving it a curious glance before he opened it up. As he inspected the food he nodded slowly, "Hm, I see. Given that Gorvis had such interest in you I thought perhaps you were the owner of the restaurant you worked in. It might have just been a ploy on his part to annoy Bushi through you. A real shame, though I suppose I can always go to your higher ups and speak with them." He had hoped it would be easier then that and that he could make a deal here and now as far as feeding the guild went. As it wouldn't so easy he'd just have to approach those that were really in charge and go from there.
The crate was closed and set aside for later as he turned his attention to Phaedra one more, "It was never my intention for the children to get dragged into things. I should have considered the envy growing in Gorvis's heart as more then just him being weak. He had skill when he was younger but I fear he let it stagnant and started to think that he just deserved things without having to put the work in. Such a pain." To lose someone so promising to envy and sloth, but he hoped it would become a lesson to the rest of the guild.
"Alright, then if your son wishes to sell pieces to me or mine in the future he can do so through his father. It will allow him to get more skilled in his field as well as make some pocket money without having to meet any of the guild members save from the obvious one."
Bushi looked between Phaedra and his boss, giving a bit of a sigh as she seemed to insist upon butting heads with the man. She always was a tough, stubborn sort, wasn't she? He couldn't help but to find her to be fascinating though even as she tried to get the two of them into trouble. Giving a little shake of his head he said, "If he decides to sell any of his pieces he can do so through my stand." If it kept him out of trouble and kept him away from the guild then he would do what he could through his stand to protect Dovian in that manner. Not to mention that it would likely make Phaedra happier knowing that her son wouldn't be approached by people wanting to buy from him that were left then reputable.
"I do apologize again for everything, boss. This wasn't how I wanted things to go down." After glancing around for a moment he said, "I will be sure to redouble my efforts as far as Matori goes. I have a few contacts that are putting out feelers at the moment so it shouldn't be long now."

As Dovian got up to present the piece she leaned forward a bit, a curious look on her face, before she gave a whistle, "That looks impressive, Dovi." She'd need to ask him to make her some gauntlets some day that had that same sort of swirling pattern to the metal on them. It was so pretty! That would wait for later though since she didn't want to draw any more attention to Dovian then was already on him. Though if that were possible she didn't know. Especially since the man seemed to want to get more pieces made by her brother in the future. She wasn't sure what she thought about that. Should be be upset that he'd be making stuff for people other then her? Should she be happy cause he'd be able to make money and not have to steal anymore? It was hard to say. Her attention then turned to her mother who seemed to be sort of poking at the guild master and she couldn't help but to wince a bit. Was she that strong that she could actually tell the man off like that? She almost thought that the answer must be yes since she wasn't seemingly going to back down. Eesh, scary. More deals seemed to be being made between the man and her father, making her think that things were all in the clear now. That meant that once things were all wrapped up that they could just head for home right? Well, home or the inn they were staying in at least... probably the latter given the current time of day. Here was to hoping they could get something to eat on the way back since she was super hungry... not something she would bring up until they were out of the back room they were hanging out in and away from their dad's boss.

Dovian watched as the man inspected his work then pocketed it. He really was sad to see it go. If anything it made him wonder if that blade would end up in someone's back and the authorities trace it back to him. A worrying thought to be sure.
As it was mentioned that he could sell to the guild he winced and looked toward his dad. Was that a true "if"? Dovi wondered if maybe Hestian was hinting at something. However, his mother stepped in and seemed to show a side to her that he'd never seen in his life. "Mom!" He whispered harshly at her. It would be just his luck for his mom to stand up for him then get into even more trouble!
He groaned and sank down into his chair, one hand reaching to find his sister's. "Shuuu... we're doomed." He whispered again, this time more quietly since his sister was closer.

"You will stay away from the owner." Phaedra's tone was short and to the point. Once she was seated again she stared at Hestian to make sure he understood that when it came to her children she wouldn't back down. Someone would pay. And no one around her would be dragged into this seedy underworld just because her husband was in it. When Bushi apologized again and mentioned redoubling his efforts she glanced toward him. Phaedra had not said sorry to Hestian, though she had given him the sweet treats. Since it hadn't come out of her mouth previously she wasn't about to say it now. "How much is a buy out?" She questioned the man behind the desk. Phaedra was curious to know exactly how much gold had been handed over as well as how much it would take to get Bushi out if the need ever arose.

Hestian rose to his feet, hands gathering the papers that had been laying before him, before he turned to Phaedra and gave her a smile that didn't quite reach his deep red eyes before he said, "What business I have with the owner of that establishment is the future is none of yours, Miss Bushi. You would be wise to remember that the reason the proceedings have been so amiable and in your favor until this point is because the lot of you are important to Bushi and Bushi is important to me."
The stack of papers were set on top of the crate that was sitting on the edge of the desk before he lifted a hand, motioning to the door, "You may leave now." It seemed that while he might have heard her question that he wasn't answering, but instead he was packing up so that he could head out after the lot of them.
Bushi was on his feet in an instant, giving Hestian a polite nod of his head, "We will be going then. Thank you for your leniency, boss." He said, before turning to his family and set to work trying to herd them toward the door. The sooner that they got out the better as he didn't really want to see things that had been going well break down. Best that they got out before anything happened that might entail further fines. A thought that the merchant in him didn't like the sound of since they'd already spent enough coin today.

Shura gave her mother a glance before she moved, catching hold of Dovian by the wrist when the man said that they could leave, moving toward the door. She didn't know about her twin but she was more then eager to get out of here. Everything had been tense to this point but she felt the tension in the air seemed to solidify a bit when their mother seemed to be trying to pick a fight with the silver haired guy. It made even someone like Shura that liked fighting want to leave. It seemed that their father wanted to go as well so here was to hoping they could get out the door before all hell broke out, "Move faster, Dovi. I want to get outside before weapons are drawn." She whispered to him as she pulled him along.

Thank the spirits or whenever god of gods had made it so that his mother didn't get into anymore trouble. Dovian was actually afraid that she would say something to offend the man. If that happened they might not leave the back room of the bar. And while it was... cozy, Dovi really didn't want to stay longer. So as they were told they could leave and his dad started to herd them out he got to his feet.
He barely got one step in before his sister had a hold of his wrist. Dovian didn't argue one bit as Shura told him to hurry. In fact he started to push her and quicken his steps. "Go. Go go." Anything to get out.

Phaedra gave Hestian a smirk as he made the snide comment. "You are correct. However, being that my husband works for you and seems to respect you I should warn you that the owner is married to a military man." It was likely that the man would get himself in trouble for going near Asaera. "Had you been respectful to me I would have offered to open my own place to service you and yours, since you are important to Eadenur." Now, she just wanted to skewer the man. The fact that Bushi thought he was a good man made her want to vomit. Phae turned and proceeded to walk out with the rest of her family.

There was a slight roll of the older man's eyes. It seemed that figured just because someone was in the military or the guard that he didn't have friends among them. No matter, he'd leave her remaining naive of such things if that was how she wished it. He'd speak with the woman that owned the restaurant and if she was the same as this one, hardheaded and unable to see the benefits of such a relationship then so be. It wasn't as though there was only one restaurant in all of Sulburi. He'd just figured that he'd offer the deal to the ungrateful creature before him, not expecting her to act in such a manner.
"The same could be said for you. I gave you all the courtesy in the world despite you being more a butcher then a chef because of Bushi, still you remained nothing but rude." Hestian said, making a dismissive motion with his hand toward the woman before looking to Bushi, "Do send Laine in, I would speak with her."
Bushi nodded his head before ushering his family out the door. Once he was in the alleyway with them he looked over at to Laine and said, "The Boss was looking for you, Laine." With that the woman headed inside and he moved to lead the way away from the boss.

Shura sighed in relief once outside before she looked around the alleyway, making sure that nobody was around that might be dangerous. It seemed as though it was alright. Turning to look over at her parents, looking to them for direction. Should they head back to the inn now? Quickly in fact since she was wanting nothing more then to be away from this place and these people since it was kind of making her mother a bit on the scary side. "So... are we going back? Anhalo is waiting for me so... I want to go check on him." She said, wishing she could run ahead to the inn but since it was dark and they were in a kind of intimidating neighborhood. If it was a regular neighborhood or during the day then she'd just lead Dovian back herself, given that they had neither of those things then it was best to stick with their parents for now.

He stuck close to his sister and did whatever he could to ignore the rising tempers. His mother's and that of his father's boss. It seemed like his mom could be scary when she wanted to be. Right now she was scaring him and making him worry all in one.
Once his sister said something he risked a glance at their father. "Uhm... is everything alright now?" Dovian hoped that they would never have to see that man again. "Can we move to Tale?" He threw that last bit out to show just how afraid he was.

"Courtesy is not making my son come before you. Courtesy is not bringing my children to this place. I was very polite. I left my weapon at home. As for being a butcher.. well, I must admit I could have done better given the right blade." Phaedra glared at Bushi then exited when dismissed. She didn't seem to pay Bushi much mind when they were outside, instead she focused on her children. "Dovian you did very well. I am proud of you." She offered him a smile then looked at her daughter. "Thank you for being such a young lady, Shura." Then again, the man behind the desk hadn't really had time to focus on her kids since she was pushing his buttons. It made her feel better knowing that he didn't pay them much attention. "Yes, Sweetie, we're going back. I'm sure Anhalo would like some treats for being so good." Phaedra nodded her head at her.
