Jazz was surprised how quickly Lunia picked up on his distracted gaze. I'm fine, I just wish I knew what was happening. He responded in the soft voice so the others wouldn't hear. He noticed that she avoided giving her family name. I suppose after the inital ridicule I would hesitate as well. While waiting for a response from Oswald, Onyxia turned his question back on himself. I should have seen that coming. Well, at least now I have a response for that. Looking over at Onyxia he gave a bow. I am a butler for the Aidou family. After hearing of what beacme of Atlas and the reports that Grimm are still growing in strength, I thought it would be best if I broadened my arsenal of skills. He was curious to see how military figures, especially ones from Atlas, would respond to such a stament. If anyone knows of the growing strength of the Grimm it would be these two fine ladies.
Lunia seemed intrested in Jessica and Onyxias father and the military at Atlas. There's that inquisitive mindset that you share with Rose. You'll go far if you keep asking questions of everything. He couldn't help but be proud, it was like he was watching his little sister work her magic. A gentle yet carefully place elbow brought him back to the present, reminding him of his promise to fit in. he could hear Mr. Aidou berate him for letting down a woman. I'm sure you'd find this very funny right now. I'm doing my best! Smiling he nodded at her, acknowledging her point. A habit I'm afraid. He still didn't understand why it was so important to her, but it did make him feel warm inside when she insisted.
Oswalds response was pretty straightforward, if not confusing. You don't like taking orders but decided to join the academy, you must realise you'll have to listen to teachers. With an introduction like I doubt most people would be keen on selecting you to lead their team, so that's yet another "order" you'd have to follow. The more he thought on Oswalds response the less choherent everyones attitude towards the military was. Our military only allow people who graduate this academy to join it's ranks. There are no sign ups, especially after what happened to Atlas. Am I the only one who knows how militaries work or is there something I was not made aware of? Slowly Jazz was being swallowed by the abyss of his thoughts, merely waiting for anyone to say something to shake things up.

Jessica Morrison
Jess gave a nod to Lunia. "He was... he started of as a huntsman and then was recruited right before we were born. By the time we got into the academy he was low tier General because of his loyalty and dedication." She looked down a little. "After graduation and receiving new deployment orders Atlas was attacked, his office was the first to go. He had been ordered to withdraw hundreds of times but refused. He kept saying ‘I will be the last one out, every civilian gets passage before me'." She looked to her weapon, missing her father a bit.

Onyxia Morrison
Onyxia reached over and patted her sisters back. "The old man would be proud of what we accomplished. She looked to Jazz, partly raising an eyebrow at Lunia not mentioning her last name. ”It’s always good to expand. The unit I was in before the fall had a motto. Improvise, Adapt, Overcome. With the Grimm being stronger you’re adapting. I say find what your best at, train that hard as can be, but never stop training your weakness. If you leave it behind it'll be what breaks you." She chuckled at Oswald a little. "Oh boy... Oswald you are in for a rude awakening with that story. It’s all orders. From here on to the end." She leaned back in her seat against another. "Mmm first Order will be form a team. No doubt about it."
Aurtrox stood behind the curtains of the stage. He was excited for this year to start, but he didn't quite like giving speeches. They were always so dull. The sun was just getting close to setting and the light was nothing short of perfect. The stage was beautiful. It was decorated with white roses and pink carnations. The seats were all decorated in the same fashion, except with ribbons instead of flowers. He had a flare for all things pretty. This year would be unlike the rest. The Grimm levels were rising near exponentially. This generation might be the one that sees the rise of a new and powerful nation. It its demise. Aurtrox peeked out to see the crowd. It was large. There were over 458 new students this year. One of the largest yet. He turned around to see all of the faculty. Most, if not all, were back stage and ready to start. Aurtrox decided it was time. With the flick of his wrist he snapped. Signalling the musicians to play.
Aurtrox flung the curtains open and walked out center stage to where an intricate podium stood. It was pure white with gold trimming much like his robes. Some would say he was obsessed with color. It was only completely true. He hit the button to start his microphone. His voice could be heard through out not just the gymnasium, but the entire school's intercom system."Welcome! I cordially welcome you all to Ḅeacộn Âcademy! I must say, I have not seen a class so full of life in quite some time. You are not only one of the largest classes in the history of Ḅeacộn Âcademy, but one of the brightest! The grade average of this class from preliminary tests is 3.89. That is quite amazing. Most likely due to my younger sister Lunestra who scored perfect scores on every exam.Aurtrox winked at his sister. who he would know would hate to be pointed out in public."Furthermore you'll be the 9th, and last class of the Mørk'Kra era, but I am not here to bog you down with boring details such as that. There are other, more imperative components for this particular discourse."His tone suddenly became very serious. "You are very special. Each of you have abilities far beyond that of your peers, or so I hope, because not just your lives....but the lives of everyone around you depend upon it. This school is not a place where you get to fool around for four years and end up with some piece of paper that states you have some value above those who do not. No. This school is to objectively create the most voracious warriors this pitiful world has ever seen. If you do not tenaciously love life, and power equally....Mark my words...You will fail."He cleared his throat and walked away from the podium with his arms folded behind his back."I do not mean to frighten you beyond what you ought to feel, only to inspire you to give your best. As headmaster I am in charge of providing this kingdom with the best huntsmen and huntresses this world has to offer. If you can't keep up I will not hesitate to sacrifice you for the greater good."He stopped firmly on the edge of the stage. Satisfied with the sullen atmosphere he has orchestrated. He then waved a hand to the side to signal the faculty to either stand up if they were in the crowd, or come out onto the stage.
"And with that I present you your esteemed professors and teachers for this year. First we have Erin Gregshell. He will be your primary combat instructor. Equally skilled in the use of WD-40 as he is at drawing the blood of his foes. You should know that though he is your primary combat instructor, we are a combat school, and you can expect combat to be mixed in with nearly every class."Aurtrox walked to the other side of the stage. His feet methodically stepping in front of the other as if there was an invisible line that nobody could see. His eyes gazed around the room. making eye contact with every individual. No emotion could be gleaned from his gaze."Secondly, we have Chikara! Your dust instructor. You will either learn a lot from him, or have our mouths sewn shut with strands of hybridized dust fabric. Along side him is Tumyr Salky. Your instructor for Grimm Studies. If you have not yet seen or fought a Grimm...You will in his class."Autrox smiled and returned to the intricately designed podium."Statistically 54% of you will be dead within 3 years of graduating from Ḅeacộn Âcademy. By my estimates this figure is 7.8% lower than what I expect for this class. Use these instructors to prove me wrong. I would prefer for less of my students to die."
Aurtrox cleared his throat for the last piece of his speech."Lastly, I would like to say that we have a few nice surprises for you. To start I would like to announce that our freshmen ball has been moved up from being in the middle of the year to only a month away. You should make sure to go to town and buy your clothes soon if you don't already have some classy cloth. Additionally teams will be released periodically instead of all at once. Within the next week I will announce the first team."Aurtrox raised his arms into the air, signalling everyone to stand and clap. The orchestra started to play another magnificent song for the end of the opening ceremony. Several maids and butlers opened up the doors to reveal tables full of food and drink just outside."Now go have some fun! We have refreshments just outside on the east and south side of the building. I expect you all to enjoy your time here to the fullest!"With that, Aurtrox's eyes narrowed slyly, but his smile was that of delight. He turned swiftly and walked off the stage with his robe flowing in the breeze behind him. The crowd began to clap and cheer. The orchestra played until all had calmed down and then broke into multiple bands which took places in several locations just outside. The sun was nearly set and candle light was everywhere. Aurtrox was a sucker for aesthetics. He would take a break back stage and soon join the party afterward.

The ongoing cantanker within the gym hall distracted Lunestra here and there. No matter how hard she tried, she was unable to fully escape into the world that was her mind -- she found her eyes flicking here and there to various groups. She would need to interact with them in the future, so perhaps she needed to introduce herself after all? There was no point in not doing so, but then the fear of embarrassing herself or saying the wrong thing began to encroach upon her. She felt her face grow hot and her arms getting slippery. Her breath was ragged, but she began to calm herself with a cool, low light from one of her Glyphs.
Why am I like this? Why am I so afraid? I'm supposed to be this grand person, especially compared to my brother . . . But I can't even muster up the courage to properly introduce myself. It's so strange. Maybe if I had made friends, I would have a more normal outlook on things. . . But facing people is like facing a horde of Grimm, in my opinion. I'm such a mess.
She hugged her legs and sunk her head deep within. She wanted to attempt to introduce herself, but she couldn't -- and the amount of people within the gym only frightened her more. However, she wouldn't be able to keep herself compressed for long. Music began to play, and she already knew her brother was set to appear. She rose, and stretched her wings -- she stepped closer to the others, but just far enough to give herself plenty of personal space. Even if Aurtrox was her brother, he was still the headmaster -- it was proper decorum to rise for the headmaster whenever he entered.
In all of his glory, her brother appeared -- to some, perhaps this was new and awe-inspiring, but to Lunestra, this was virtually every day. Chuckling to herself, her brother still remained delicately dramatic, detailing how her class was the most intelligent, and largest, of all classes before at Beacon. Everything was going well, until he decided to mention her name. Her blood ran cold, and she dared not look around. Her wings quivered and stretched out, covering her shoulder, acting like a shell. All she wanted to do was withdraw. She heard nothing else her brother said, and a lot of things began to blank out for her. Even so, her body remained still like a statue.
Looks like she was having a panic attack.

Azura Knight
Azura was grateful Scarlet helped pull her back up, but was even more grateful she didn't seem overly upset about the situation. It seemed they both silently agreed to put the embarrassing situation behind them and never talk about it again. So much for first impressions.
The male who asked to join them suddenly moved to cover his scar, a frown forming on his face. She'd been careful not to draw notice to it, as such would be rude and as evidence by his actions, he was self-conscious about the wound. A terrible mark indeed, but with the state the world was currently in, such marks were not completely unheard of. An accident? A Grim attack? It was not her place to ask. At least not while she considered them strangers, though she was sure he was asked about it all the time. A quick glance to the side showed who the culprit of the males discomfort was. Scarlet was staring, while gripping her own arm. Then the male smiled, took her offered hand and chuckled and the tension passed in a mere few seconds.
It seemed to be a day for unusual events however. The door crashed open for a second time, and Azura's gazed was pulled in that direction. She couldn't help but feel bad for the girl who smacked into the door for most everyone in the gym to see. She was impressed how easily the Horse Faunus shook it off, not even seeming overly self-conscious about the whole affair. Rather she simply picked herself up, dealt with her bloody nose and came trotting over. It quickly became apparent that she knew the male who asked the join them. “A pleasure to meet you both!” She said cheerfully. “Azura Knight.” She said for the third time, for the benefit of Maron.
Suddenly music started to play and the ceremony began.

Walking into the gym she looked around and saw that there many different types of people, humans and faunus alike, this was to be her first year in Beacon academy. Compared to most she had some experience under her belt, since both of her parents are hunters she had some experience with killing grimms and being a basic huntress. Her parents weren't strict at the very least they treated her well and as a daughter but also taught her to be a huntress as well, walking up to the entrance she looked around, she adjusted her scarf and pulled it above to her nose as she walked more into the gym and looked around some more. Then her eyes looked at the food and drink table as she walked over to it with a smile on her face, if theres one thing she likes a lot it was free food; too bad she ate before she came so she looked at the drinks, pouring herself a cup of cola she pulled down her scarf a little and took a sip then went over to a table to sit down at. Upon getting to the table she sat down and the head master came out looking towards him she folded her legs and kept quiet as she listened to him talk. When the part came up about dying she raised an eyebrow as she took another sip for a moment, as the teachers were all introduced she continuous to watch quietly but kept her seat with her legs folded and just scanned the room. Since she wasn't much of the talking type so she remained quiet while drinking her coke and watched everyone.
Ivory walked into the gym as the speech was just getting over. He was very nervous, he saw that there were a ton of people here. Parties weren't exactly his thing. He didn't know where to start. To be honest, he started moving towards a corner to stand in. He didn't want to interrupt anyone. If someone wanted to talk to him, they would have to come to him.

The procession of events continued on, and Lunestra was still frozen in place -- even if just for a few seconds. Her mind was threatening to enclose on her, but she was freeing herself little by little. She couldn't remain there and she couldn't keep this up. After all, she was a huntress -- she needed to be strong, and get over all of this. And she knew exactly how to: she either began to conversate with everyone, or put on an extreme facade of the rich heiress who is better than everyone else. Her brother had already somewhat taken care of that part, anyway. Highest scores? Well, perhaps.
Her wings relaxed and she composed herself anew. A steely glare settled on her countenance and she had nothing but an elegant and refined dour. Everyone was heading towards the buffet lines and meals to begin their celebration of entering the school. She had to admit, however, she was rather shaky -- she still felt suddenly hot and cold, and somewhat sweaty, but she didn't let all of this betray the demeanor she had adopted just now.
Everything is fine. Everything is fine. I'm fine. I'm refined. I'm high class. I'm not nervous. I'm not anxious. I'm just going to eat and then head out, and then classes will start, and then---
At this point, she had already started walking until she lost her footing and almost timbered onto another person -- a certain butler.

Jazz snapped out of his thought when the announcments finally began. Time really does pass by fast when you're not paying attention. During the speech students were still spilling into the gym. Really now. Punctuality is of the utmost importance, they don't even look like they tried to get here on time. Turning back he focused on every word that the headmaster said. Now there's a man who understands the importance of appearance. As he went on to talk about the incredible grade avarage Jazz sunk into himself, if it weren't for his impressive performance during the physical portion of testing he never would have made it into the academy. Perfect score. I expect nothing less from the heiress, I look forward to being able to impress her one day. I doubt shes the type to even notice simple people like me. Jazz knew very well how important and influential the Krayeth family was. Once royalty now turned most important household of the living world, he held great admiration of them.
Looking around the stage each teacher made their own impression, each vastly different from the others. Huntsmen sure are... Unique. He could tell this year was going to be interesting. The statistics given to him weren't surprising, if anything they seemed low. I doubt he intends on scaring potential huntsmen away, perhaps underestimating that number is a good idea. After the darkened atmosphere in the gym Aurtrox quickly shifted the mood and topic to something more positive. A ball. I wonder if any of these people even know how to dance. He was sure Lunia wouldn't have any difficulties and assumed that the heiress to the Krayeth family was nothing less than a master on her feet. I hope there are others out there how have a level of dignity, although I won't be holding my breath.
Taking a step back he turning to see the banquet that had been meticulously laid out before everyone. Now that is a sight to behold. At last introductions can be conducted in the proper fashion, around a table of smiling individuals. Enough of this meandering around, time to socialise. Before he had a chance to make his way to the festivities someone fell onto him. With no difficulties at all he spun the person around pulled them in close, mind still focused on the future ball. My apologies. I didn't mean to get in your way. Looking down at who he had swept of their feet his body froze for a second. I stop thinking for a second and make a mistake like this! Miss Lunestra! She's bound to hate me forever, I just.. The ball.. Food. It reminded me of home. His sister often used him as a practice partner for their dances, as such the choreography was drilled into him. At times Aurelia would deliberatley fall about him and insist he helped her out in this very way, claiming that as a princess all men should desire her. He found it endearing and went along with it as it posed him no harm.

Lunia Alexandria Yatomura "I'll make you all proud of me one day.."
- - - -
Lunia smirked, she thought Oswalds attitude to people and leadership was strange, but took note of his comment. She turned her attention to Jessica and could tell speaking of her father made her sensitive, she felt for the girl, and understood what it was like to lose someone who put others first. Lunia looked down at the floor also, and then back at the twins. "Those people that survived because of the selflessness of your Father won't ever forget what he did..." she said, providing them with some sort of comfort.
As the doors opened and the impressive amount of cuisine was revealed, Lunia only then realised how hungry she was. She went to the table with Jazz and gestured for the others to follow, observing the students and teachers that were helping themselves to the fold and drink. Lunia picked up a drink for her and Jazz, "I wonder how he will respond to someone getting him a drink, I hope he likes this one... " she said to herself, happy to get something for her new friends.
As she turned around however, she gasped out loud to the sight infront of her, Jazz seemed to already have engaged in what looked like the tango, and not with just anyone, with Lunestra. Lunia panicked, were they an item and she never knew? did she see Lunia with Jazz and hated her? she didn't want her to dislike Lunia already, after all, they had so much in common. Lunia froze on the spot and didn't know what to do, she had a drink for Jazz, but didn't want to give it to him incase she looked a fool, and she hated looking the fool.
Lunia calmed herself down, but was having an inner conflict in doing so. She placed the drink she had got Jazz down on a table and left it, not wanting to embarrass him. She looked away from them both and pretended she hadn't seen a thing, unsure of the whole situation. "I wanted to introduce myself to her so bad, but not in this way." she said to herself as she took a sip of her drink.

There were a lot of situations that Lunestra had involved herself in, and all of those situations were heavily simulated and all for her development as a future huntress. However, nothing ever prepared her for one of the worst scenarios she feared to happen -- falling onto someone, quite literally, even if it was a simple misstep. The elegant, poised, Swan Faunus heiress has fallen, and now she will remain nothing but a pile of ashes -- or at least her reputation did.
It all happened so quickly. She had no time to react to the fact that she twisted her ankle in her heeled shoe, but luckily she did not injure herself. In fact, due to the amount of heart-pounding action she was going through right now (all caused by her anxiety), her Aura had activated and a sheen of white covered her from head to toe in a split second. However, she did not fall to the floor, nor onto the person. The stranger -- Jazz -- swept her off her feet and they were now very dangerously close to each other. Neither of them fell, and neither of them moved. They were stuck in that moment.
And it sucked.
Lunestra didn't budge. Instead, she remained completely frozen in place for several seconds. To her, it felt like an eternity though. Though, the attire the potential huntsman wore -- which she luckily managed to scan over -- calmed her for some reason. Perhaps it was because he looked so much like a butler. Her pulse was high, but she slid out of his grasp with an extrication plan in mind. Inhaling and exhaling, she needed to make a decision: should she act pompous and high and mighty, or should she emulate her brother's elegant demeanor and dismiss the entire situation? It was a difficult call. Her pulse was already lowering, and she was returning to her senses. As the night continued, she felt her senses return to her.
She was starting to feel better -- besides, the worst had already passed.
"I apologize," She said, her tone completely in control, yet sharp. Her eminent gaze settled on Jazz for a moment, her brow furrowing. ". . . Anyway, I should go," Is all she decided to say from there, making her way towards the buffet set for all to enjoy. Food. . . Yes, food will make this night astronomically better. It had to. She cast a glance at Lunia, not surprised she was here -- after all, it was expected. However, she felt as if Lunia had seen something she likely misconstrued. Even so, Lunestra didn't approach her, and simply kept heading towards the food.

His hand tugged at his collar it seemed the whole time. His single bang kept falling over his field of view as his mouth carried the look of dismay. "No drinks, too tight suit...Crowded stage." He'd mutter while leaning against the wall, pulling at his tie to loosen it before pulling his jacket forward. "I hate these events, it restricts me too much." He'd say to himself before hearing the music start. His right eye closed as he took to his stand and moved his hands down to his pocket watching the man of the hour walk past him. His mouth curved into a smile as his head tilted up and his teeth showed, glimmering white. "Nice description out there. But WD-40 ain't my only tool of trade." He'd tease before walking to the side of the headmaster, a hand being drawn from his pocket and moving the bang up to his forehead, allowing both eyes to open. "This year is gonna be a bumpy ride, ain't it?" He'd say with a bit of confidence in his stance.
His eyes close as he leaned his head down a bit and sighed. "It looks like we'll have a good share of trouble makers, and clumsy Hunters and huntresses, but. . .They will be the people who have the most potential, you know?"After saying this, he'd wonder about who would be the one to push his buttons, and who would be the one to catch his attention. Though in this, his head would shake and his feet began moving to the exit of the stage to the left. "I need a drink, this place is making me too sober to enjoy." The joke was followed by a masculine laugh towards the door.

Jazz wondered how long this moment would last, he didn't dislike it however it did catch him off gaurd. Why hasn't she said anything yet? Soon enough she moved to get out his grasp, and he helped it appear as natural as possible given the situation. By now a few students we're whispering amongst themselves, obviously about the foolishness of his actions. He cleared his throat preparing to apologise before Lunestra got there first. To him it was clear she hadn't appreciated his actions, this would more than likely hinder any form of friendship for a while. Lunestra hadn't even given Jazz a momant to reply before she made her way towards the buffet. Letting out a sigh Jazz relaxed for a moment. I'm glad she didn't make a scene out of this. Although I wouldn't be able to complain if she had. Looking down at his hands he attempted to lower his blood presure, the feeling of her arms and waist still lingered on them. Ok.. Enough of that now. A drink should help calm the nerves.
Looking around he spotted Lunia sipping a drink, with another ready by the table next to her. She has quite the taste. I wouldn't expect anything less. She happened to pick Jazz's favorite flavour of punch, mango. Walking over to the punch bowl he poured himself a glass and went over to join her. Jazz was curious as to what Lunia was looking at, her gaze was very purpously fixed away. I see great minds think alike. Excited for the ball Mi-. Lunia? He was still finding the change difficult but he was no quitter, he was determined to keep his promise to Her. I forgot to ask this earlier. Do you have any friends you know at Beacon? I'm sure you and Lunestra must be acquainted, but I'm curious as to any others.
Glancing about the room most students seemed overwhelmed by the sheer magnitude of the banquet before them. As much as I appreciate a good meal, after a speech like that it does make this feel rather... Frivolous. It was clear the teachers had no intentions of sticking around, most taking the ceremony as permission to leave. I can't put it past them, this must feel like a complete waste of time to them. He took a moment to try and memorise their names along with their faces.

Lunia choked on her punch a little when Jazz came over for she was in a world to herself, she looked at the drink she had poured for him and then at the one in his hands. She noticed him trying to stop the formalities, and couldn't help but giggle at his almost failed attempt, lightening her mood instantly. "I do love a ball, the dresses, the dancing, but most of the music" she said, "You know, growing up I actually never wanted to fight which is why I maybe never turned out like my siblings" she added, taking a sip of the punch. "I wanted to play the Piano, and travel the world playing my music for others, but things changed".
Lunia remembered back to the day she never showed up for training, the piano had taken her away from what she knew. She recalled the pianos being taken away from her household, to force her to maintain her training to become a fighter. Always wanting to make her family proud, she never complained, but sometimes wish she had. "Do you play any instruments Jazz"
She looked around the room to see if she did recall any familiar faces, and apart from Lunestra, none. "Not than I know of" she answered his question. Taking a bite of a sandwich that was at the banquet, she smiled to Jazz. "What about you, did you ever attend a ball as a guest?" she asked, wondering if butlers ever got any prestige treatment at them, and if not, she was determined to make his first ball ever the best, even though there was a hilarious and evident height difference between the two.

Heiress ::. Student ::. Awkward as heck ::. Post Count: 1
Having approached the buffet line and serving herself enough to eat -- which, unfortunately, couldn't be as much as she wished to eat -- Lunestra felt everything returning to normal. She was grounded, now -- ironically enough --, and her pulse had returned to normal. She gazed at the food before her, and her appetite was slowly returning. Exhaling mentally, she ran through the events of today in her mind thus far: her brother outing her test and practical scores, her sudden encounter with a man, of all people, and then a possible misunderstanding with Lunia.
Things are complicated, but that's life. The only way I'm going to get over this stupid anxiety is if I involve myself more. I need to get more adequate in social situations. I'm a huntress -- well, almost. I need to be just as good or perhaps even better than my brother. I can't let my father down either. . .
Her gaze fell when she thought about her father, and how much pain he still went through despite the pride in his children -- more specifically Aurtrox. He expected much from Lunestra as well, but he often reminded him of her mother, which is perhaps why their relationship was competent, yet somewhat strained. If she didn't know any better, she'd think the man a stranger.
Shaking herself out of her reverie, she adjusted her wing-span as to not crash into someone else, and was now fully alert after recovering from it all. She flicked her gaze about, analyzing the crowds. With each passing moment, she felt less nervous -- but she refused to approach any of them.
Knowing Aurtrox, he'll likely pair me with two others anyway. . . Well, if it's going to be anyone in this room, I'd rather it be Lunia. We're familiar enough with each other. . . I have no reason to be nervous in front of her.
Thinking of Lunia, she cast her gaze over to Jazz and Lunia, enjoying their company so casually. It was a foreign concept to Lunestra -- friends, of all things, was very strange. It was something she could not appropriately place, a feeling she could not comprehend. It bothered her, a sort of emptiness within her. But she never let it bother her, and she never will. She'll adapt to whomever she is placed with, and come out strong. She won't fail, and she won't falter.
She's a Krayeth after all.
Making her way to a nearby table -- luckily empty, for now --, she settled herself and began to eat with all the expected mannerisms of someone of her status.
