"Oh, he's probably already read it, but he also doesn't like texting, so he'll just put his phone away after, and by the time he's done for the day it'll have slipped his mind." It wasn't a malicious thing on Ever's end.

Zeke gave Melvin a long look, as if he couldn't quite believe he had to ask that. Then he shook his head, eyes rolling up in exasperation. "You could, I dunno, call him? Or pop into his part of the labs. Or stop by his dorm." This entire conversation was really just very surreal.

"It's not meant to be. That's just him." Zeke shrugged. Ever's inability to maintain any sort of text conversation had been frustrating to him at first, but that was before he'd realized how foreign it all was to him, and how uncomfortable he'd been with his phone. Now Zeke was used to it. He left notes when he could, or made sure any texts he had to send were short, to the point, and didn't require a response.

Another shrug at the question. "Better chance of that than waiting for a text back. He's probably working though."

It seemed a rather abrupt end to the conversation, but Zeke only offered a little wave and a chuckle. he considered shooting Ever a text to warn him, but it was a little more amusing not to.

He'd have to go find the skinny man later, see how their little chat went.

That made him blink, pausing with his chair half turned back to the desk. "Ah, sure." Unexpected as well, but not unwelcome. "That'd be fine. You mean leave?"
