"We weren't exactly alone the last time, we just weren't together-- Or, rather, I wasn't in a place where it would have been good for either of us to get involved." She'd said both 'involved' and 'together', two things that neither of them had ever really discussed being. They had a decent 'business' relationship with one another on the Negaverse side of things and they got along well enough outside of that, but that didn't exactly mean anything.

Ignoring it, Katrina picked up the menu once she was settled so that she could browse over their options. "Is there anything you would recommend here? Or is that a question better asked of our waiter?"

"Something new for both of us, then." She liked the idea of that more than she thought she would. With the experiences he had and the funds he had to explore a number of the finer things life had to offer there weren't many things she'd gotten to explore with him that way.

Satisfied with conversation, for the time being, Kat turned her attention to the menu to browse what was being offered. She glanced up again when the waiter came by, questioning his recommendations before looking to Kian to see if he was interested in one of the suggested appetizers.

Katrina had decided what she would order for dinner before anything else, looking back to the appetizer menu only after Kian ordered the baked brie. She wondered if he'd ever eaten oysters before; what his thoughts were on them, if he had. He questioned her, however, before she had a chance to ask.

"As tempting as it is to try the Aubergine du Bayou Tèche, I think I may just stick with the seared scallops." If she could convince him to bring her here again she would venture beyond things that she was more familiar with then-- maybe when she wasn't caught up with lingering concern and self-conscious thoughts.

"And you?"

She didn't miss the slight quirk to his brow at her French, a please smile curving her own lips. She knew that it was far from perfect, would likely get her laughed out of France, but she'd managed to pay attention to at least that much during highschool. Watching various cooking channels hadn't hurt either.

Katrina reached for her glass of water, running her fingers along the stem before picking it up. She took a slow sip, enjoying the cool, crisp feel of the water as it slid down her throat. "My grandmother and mother spoke enough Spanish between each other that I can speak it passably when the situation calls for it... So I took French in school to balance it out," she said as she set her glass back down. "I was pondering the oysters as well, but that's something I haven't tried them before and wasn't sure I wanted to waste anything tonight."

"Clearly you'll just have to take me with you if you decide to travel, then, hm?"

The wine was delightful and dinner divine-- indulgent to the point where it would have been too easy to overdo any one thing, if not all of it at once. She paced herself with the practice of someone used to portioning things off to save for later. It would have taken her weeks to save up for something like this and had the meal been on her own dime she would have wanted to take as much of the finery back to her tiny apartment for later as she could.

It was a task to remind herself that she didn't have to do that with Kian. If she wanted something nice she had but to ask, could simply request it, and despite his willingness she'd been loathe to take advantage of it. She didn't want him to think that was all she wanted of him when there was so much more.

At some point the wine began to go to her head... Or maybe it was the oysters... The atmosphere... Katrina found herself incredibly satisfied, glass in hand as she watched him from across the candlelit table. The cool rim of the wine glass pressed to her lips, the liquid sliding past them, taste washing over her tongue. She held the sip for a moment, savoring each note the wine offered before swallowing it down.

"Dinner was delightful, Kian. Thank you," her voice was soft as she spoke, tongue sliding out to sweep over her lips as she continued to observe, fingers stroking the stem of her wine glass once more. "Next time we should go somewhere with dancing... Low lights, slow songs..."

A wicked thought raced through Katrina's mind, the corners of her mouth quirking into a grin. The possibilities were endless when it came to things that could be done-- they could be home in an instant if either one of them powered up right then and there. They could do whatever they want, wherever they wanted. The sky was the limit and she was floating just high enough to feel like between the two of them they could own the night.

That momentary rush of vision was enough to sate her for the time being as she reached out to take hold of his hand, dragging her nails lightly over his skin as she held his gaze. "It seems like would be a shame to ask for desert to go, but the rest of my thoughts are far better suited for somewhere other than here." Standing, she made her way around the table, leaning over to brush her lips to the corner of his mouth. Her fingers drifted down to slide into his pocket for his keys, letting her hand linger on his thigh briefly. "I'll meet you out in the car?"
