Well first house had landed him with a familiar and a trick. It was his first familiar, luckily it fit pretty well with the rest of the familiars in the household.Plus luckily it didn't take that much room. However the hybrid was starting to possibly sense a pattern as they walked up to the next house. It was a trick house again as he was handled a pencil. Well it had a cute bat at the end of it but seriously there had to be a better way to get rid of your school supplies then give them out on haunted hallows. Mmm well it wasn't as if he couldn't use them and the night was still young. Maybe next household they would give him a journal and he could work on stories or art or other things to pass the time as he apparently hit the trick houses.
Vanhi sat down, not quite ready to go to the next house. She was next to the caretaker and her group had all run ahead to ring the doorbell. It gave her time to look at her notebook and jot down recipe ideas. She wasn’t sure if any of them would actually pan out, but she knew that Grandpa Yun liked to look at them for inspiration. It made her feel like she had helped out the café so it was a win win.
When the caretaker tried to get her to socialize with some of the other group Vanhi just shook her head. She didn’t want to know them, it was a weird feeling. She was here because she wanted to experience trick or treating but without any of her older siblings or her family it was just… it wasn’t as fun as she imagined. Sure it was a time to try to make a friend but no one felt like friend material. Mostly because she was way too shy to talk to any of them first.
Looking over his prize from the last house, he heard the caretaker say it was time to move on and retreated back to his group following them to the next destination. He waited for everyone else to pop up so he already knew it was a house that wasn’t giving out tricks and picked up a red and purple bracelet. It seemed like it would look pretty good on him or at least wouldn’t clash too badly. However as he walked back down the steps to rejoin up with his group for the night he noticed something out of the corner of his eye.
The aetherjelly moved out of the shadows and swirled around him and a tiny tendril moved forward to drap its self over Anubis’s shoulder. As if it agreed on something it saw it began following him down the steps. He had heard of things like this happening before but he didn’t think he was going to get a familiar this way. Did they just pick random people from the street? What if they got the wrong home? Still he was happy it deemed him worthy enough to obviously want to go home with.
Zoe couldn't help but be relieved as she walked along with a small group of freshlings, the watchful eyes of their adult chaperone hovering over them all like a haunting pair of searchlights. In spite of that, she was happier than her friend; after all the trouble they had the last time they went out on Haunted Hallows, they couldn't get punished if they did it the proper way. She was just lucky that the teachers hadn't labeled her a problem-child right then! She even liked her costume better than last year. She hummed to herself as she adjusted the long, cardboard nose she had tied to her own small one and tried not to smudge the stitches one of her caretakers had drawn around her eye with a makeup pencil. On what she thought was a stroke of brilliance, she had chosen to go out as her secret familiar, Secret. She beamed over at Gilly and shook her recycled pail. "Isn't this great? We're going to have lots of fun!" She walked eagerly up to the first house and held up her bag. She watched as a stuffy-looking baphomet lady dropped a notebook in her bag. Instead of being saddened by not getting a sweet, Zoe smiled cheerfully. "Thank you ma'am!" She turned to Gilly and held up the notebook. "Lookit! It looks just like the notebook from that story about the elf who used his to fight crime!" She suddenly felt something tickling her shoulder, and she turned and gasped as a small Aetherjelly floated there just above her shoulder. "Gilly! Gilly! It even came with a reaper, and it looks like a jelly!!"
Gilly didn't share as much cheerful sentiment as her friend did. She would rather they be off on their own, exploring and having all sorts of Haunted Hallows adventures. Instead they had to stay in a boring group with a grown-up watching their every move, probably twice as much on her since she had run off the last time. What if they restricted how much candy they got to have? What if they found another super-cool familiar and they wouldn't let them keep it? Grown-ups were such party-poopers! Still, she couldn't completely dampen her friend's spirit. She managed a smile and nodded. "Yeah, but still; I'd rather it be just the two of us. I have lots of fun with you." Gilly didn't notice that the first house wasn't interested in handing out candy until she was right at the door. She watched as the lady put an eraser in her pail, and scowled as she pulled it out. "Well, guess I can see how well it would bounce." She giggled a little at Zoe's over-enthusiasm over the notebook. "Need a magic eraser to go with it?" Suddenly she gasped and pulled out something else. "Hey! How'd this get in here?" She pulled out a plushie that looked so much like her friend's new shoulder-buddy. "Looks like your reaper didn't want me to feel left out."
Standing in the small group of freshlings, Caitlyn tried to hide her excitement as she looked around. All the skulls and spooky things; it looked so wonderful! It was her very first time trick-or-treating, and unlike some of the others in her group, she had no qualms about letting grown-ups tag along. They'd probably concede that with her fascination for the macabre, she'd be the spookiest thing they came across that evening. She couldn't help but overhear the loud conversation two of the freshlings were having, and how one was pretty bummed about not being able to go off by themselves. She knew they didn't mean anything towards her, but she couldn't help but think of all of the times when none of the other freshlings wanted her around. She was last to the house, and she couldn't help but feel a little bit of anticipation; the kids didn't seem too thrilled with what they had gotten, so maybe it would be something SHE would like. She saw the lady look her up and down, and then drop something large and heavy into her pail without a word. Curious, she reached in and gasped as she pulled out a doll. It was the neatest looking doll she had ever seen! It might even be cursed our haunted! She managed to stammer out a thank you before the lady quickly closed the door. Well, she couldn't blame her; not many freshlings probably thanked her for such neat dolls; they'd probably prefer one of those ugly, bright plushes that looked like they would give you radiation poisoning. All of a sudden, darkness fell over one of her eyes, and she reached up to rub it. When it didn't do any good, she blinked and was surprised to see the darkness manifest itself into an orb that looked like it had a dark, evil eye in the middle. Not the least bit afraid, she reached out and tried to touch it, smiling as it danced around her hand. Maybe that doll really WAS haunted after all!
Pollux continued his casual search for his siblings or someone else to play with or chat to. He didn't really mind which he found but he did hope to find one or the other. He was getting a little lonely hanging out in his group with no one he had connected with so far. Pollux went to the next house and smiled brightly and said trick or treat. He got a lollipop and was really happy he started eating the lollipop just then. Thanked the grimm at the door before heading off to his next stop, this was turning out to be a really nice holiday, now if only he could find someone well if he tried.
Magi looked at the strange candy apple in the bag she had won at a game of darts in the area that was hosting the trick or treating, she wasn't sure if this was really a treat. Maybe her sibling would like it. She put it in her bag and continued on maybe Magi didn't like apples or maybe it was the goo that made her not want the treat. Either way she had decided to give the treat away to someone else rather than eating it herself. Magi looked around to see if there was anyone she could play with she needed some friends.
Aelius Jr looked up at the dryad holding out the pretty crystal ball be wanted to win it, he just had to guess the number of jelly beans in the jar and get within 50 jelly beans Oooo he really wanted to guess close enough. Aelius closed his eyes and then looked at the jar again then said the first number that came to mind. He giggled when the dryad said he had been very close indeed then handed him the crystal ball he would never know how close he was since the dryad dressed as a fortune teller wouldn't say out loud.
Shock chuckled as he saw the funny turnip face in the demon's hand, again he didn't care one bit if it was supposed to be a trick or treat he thought the turnip face was funny. The strange weird things were what gave Shock some comfort in this world that he was just another freshling. The below was his home and Sylkie was right he could have friends and a life. Then again roaming the woods with Rune had been amazing Shock wasn't sure what he wanted to do when he grew up but it didn't have anything to do with a suit and tie.
Andrew noticed another Wisp had come to join him, he was actually rather happy to get the notebook now he could sit down with his new familiar friends and draw. Andrew took his treasures to sit against one of the houses so he could draw pictures of the other freshlings trick or treating. Andrew was at his happiest when he was drawing he didn't need anything else least that's what he thought sometimes when he forgot that he needed to eat and sleep silly stuff. Luckily Andrew had met a special friend who played the violin really great and reminded him when it was snack time.
Lau notice something shinny while walking down the street. While the chaperone was not paying attention she walked over to see what was shinning. The closer she got the brighter it became. Then she noticed it was moving. Lau was startled but it didnt stop her curiosity. She was surprised to what she found. It was a living crystal. She picked it up and ran over to her group. She noticed that the moving crystal had a head and it mouth it was chewing a bracelet. She took the bracelet and put it in her bag.
When Ignatius received the creepy doll from trick or treating he was not sure what to make of it. When he staired into its eye he had a weird feeling. He took the doll out and looked at it with confusion. Then stuck it back it his bag. He felt his bag move again so he hurried and ipen it and the doll had a piece of candy in its hand. At the next door Bailey was feeling a little tricked out, He waited for one of the other Freshlings knock on the door, It took a little while to open but when it did it Creakeddd... slowly... open and a pair of tiny glowing eyes could be seen, Suddenly the glowing eyes shot out towards them all, Bailey gave a shriek as a Creepy looking doll looked up at him from inside his bag. He clutched at his head, Hallowed Haunt was a lot more intense than he thought it would be!
He glanced round at his group; all of them looked surprised at the Plushies they also had draped around their shoulder, Ferret plushies? Clearly while the dolls distracted them the nightmare used some fancy magic to make these plushies appear! Wow! What a surprise!

Rosline giggled clinging to her newest plushie edition. It matched her ferret too! Today was a good day, better then she expected though she hadn’t got anything chocolate or sweet yet. Some candy would be nice. She trotted up the steps of the house, singing out ‘Trick or Treat’ to the goblin answering the door.
She held out her bag, plush under one arm and felt her smile drop a tad bit as a notebook was dropped within. More school supplies. Didn’t she have enough school things? She said thank you and walked down the steps. She had been polite but ugh, school stuff.
The next house, Jamie hit jackpot. If he would go to the door. The chimera had homemade candy apples and they looked so good. He approached slowly, ears held down, and giving a cautious chattering of clicks. They didn’t look scary… but his mother was so scared of fire and chimera had something to do with fire.
He reached out and gave a stuttering “Ththanks,” as his hand closed round the stick and pulled back a bit away to keep out of reach and properly look over his treat. Mmh. It looked so good. So good it ended up in his mouth instead of the bag. He chewed, following his caretaker and the rest of the freshlings in his group. So good.
Javidev puttered about their dorm room and sighed. Do I really really really want to go out there with the others for this trick or treating affair? Dressing up was not their idea of fun, but, the chance to get free things, well, that seemed intriguing at least. Sighing, Javidev grabbed a colorful and noisy hat and called it good for their costume. If anyone complained, they'd point out that they had been to busy studying and completely forgot about this silly event, which honestly wasn't far off from the truth.
Upon leaving their room, they quickly ran into someone that was passing out notebooks, and being the studious student they were snagged one. To them, that was a treat! The plushie they got moments later, it was cute, but, not what they'd like.
Ru felt their heart go pit-a-pat at the notion of going around and getting candy. They were looking forward to meeting all the interesting people, seeing all the cool costumes, and exploring the area... but especially the costumes. Ru didn't have the means to prepare a costume for themselves, but someday soon they hoped to do so. What costume that would be would be a matter to tackle later.
After some going around with their group, they opened their treat bag to a certain person, and... a toothbrush was dropped in. They thanked that person and maintained their composure, but ultimately they were very confused as to why they got a toothbrush. What did that have to do with Halloween, even if the toothbrush had a spooky look to it?
Lucasta was totally raring to go for Halloween! She was totally psyched to get some A+ candy and see some awesome costumes. She hoped that, one day, she'd get a cool costume, too. Something like the celebrities wore on TV, maybe? A nice performance dress!
Treat bag in hand, she followed her group, and she noticed a large, shiny creature slowly inching towards her. She paused, marveling at the earthy and orange crystals on the creature's back. Such luster! When the creature came close to her, her group's chaperone identified the creature as a Torti and pointed out that there was a pumpkin bracelet on one of the crystals. Grinning, Lucasta took the bracelet and patted the Torti on the head. "Thanks, big guy!"
