Chrysanthe could only pinch the bridge of her nose before seemingly giving up, "Then I hope the best for you." She replied with a small shake of her head. This man truly wouldn't be moved - how silly. Still a bit of her appreciated that aspect of Torva. It was nice to find someone who no matter how troublesome the world was seemingly just created a light of his own to shine in the darkness. Not that she would tell him that he seemed to be one of those rare radiant souls -out of all things - especially after her own teasing comment about finding a love who glowed for you. Her gaze widened ever so slightly as he called her out, "I mean normally....I really....am a grump." Her voice lowered in defeat as she shifted her gaze towards the table, a good timing considering that the soup was being brought out to them along with more bread, "Ah. Thank you." She nodded towards the server before focusing on the spoon now as she shifted in through the stew thoughtfully, "I guess it's just hard to be a grump when you're so persistent with your kindness. I just need another chance to show how horrible I can be, if you'd really like to see." She managed finally before lifting up a spoon to blow off the steam from the hot stew. Chrysanthe glanced at him sharply, "Not the best of jokes as I would highly recommend forcing a child to grow up without ever knowing both of her parents and over there people aren't like here - they're not accustomed to hybrids fully and many still have harsher opinions on them." She replied quietly with a sigh, "Still, it perhaps the girls are nice then and it's just the damned men who are so troublesome. So even if you're woo'd by a man I guess the only thing you'd have to worry about is your money pouch." She let out a breath of air before shoving the spoonful of stew into her mouth.

Torva gave a smile as she said that she was having a hard time being a grump when he was around since he was so persistent. He'd take that as the highest of compliments he thought to himself. She wanted a chance to show him how horrible she could be but that made him want to rise to that challenge and still be nice even if she suddenly turned into a beast of a woman. Cocking his head to one side as the girl set to scolding him about his joke he found the gears in his mind starting to turn, going over everything that she'd said to this point, before he suddenly asked, "Ah! Does that mean you're a hybrid? Wait... no, forget that... I think that's pretty rude to ask, huh? Forgive me for that, Chrys!" He said, lifting his hands, waving them in a manner that showed he was instantly surrendering as he didn't want to upset her with his stupid question. If a hybrid wasn't something that was accepted over in Tendaji then maybe it wouldn't be a good thing to ask about, huh? Shaking his head he said, "I will take your advice to heart and keep an eye out for those that want to use me for my body and wallet if I ever wander as far as Matori." She was giving him a warning so he felt that he should definitely take it to heart. She was from Tendaji after all so her advice had to be something worth listening to. As he struggled with what he should say or do next he turned his attention to the food that had been giving to him, digging in so that he could fill his mouth with stew to help keep him from saying anything else stupid or rude to her.

Chrysanthe had a spoonful of soup touching her lips when his sudden question caused her to drop the spoon onto the table, "Oh!" A flush decorated her cheeks and spread all the way towards the tips of her finned ears as she quickly took a cloth from the table and dabbed at the slight splash of soup that spread from her spot at the table towards Torva, "It's....not something to apologize about." She managed finally as she pulled back to sit properly in her seat while still fiddling with the cloth in her hands, "A bit sudden though I should have expected it and you didn't have to like...announce it to the whole tavern and such." She shot him a glance before letting out a sigh, "But yeah, I am. Unfortunately." "Are you....I mean...Is...it going to- oh, never mind." She placed the cloth sharply on the table before lifting a spoon to her lips and finishing that bite of food that she had been meaning to take. Would he treat her differently now? Before she had hidden herself based on the fact that she was from the new found lands and that people over in Belrea would have no idea of what any race from Tendaji looked like. I suppose that was silly enough on its own. It wasn't like they wouldn't find out soon enough considering how people were starting to travel back and forth...though they weren't traveling that much at the same time. Ugh. And what did it matter if Torva disliked her now because of it? It wouldn't be the first time that someone had sneered at her for being a hybrid! "Good." She nodded courtly before focusing back on her soup though her appetite was much less now that her heritage was exposed. This is Belrea not Tendaji... Still she wasn't certain of anything completely over here just yet. At least Torva was going to take care of himself if he did got towards Matori, no matter what she knew that he had shown her kindness today so she wished him well in his future travels regardless of if they saw each other or not anymore past this meal.

Torva starred at her for a moment then said, "Huh. I just thought that maybe the Water Tribe was like the Lightning Tribe, we are a pretty colorful people of various colors." He hadn't even thought about it or considered it until their conversation had gone along the path that it had. Had she not said something he'd likely have gone on in an oblivious manner. Giving a shrug he then said in a confused manner, "You are... 'unfortunately'? Huh, seems like Tendaji is a bit rough in that aspect, huh?" "Am I...?" He looked curious as to what she was about to ask him before telling him to 'never mind' which he supposed he could do. No reason to worry about it or push the issue if you asked him, "Eh, you shouldn't worry, at least not about me, I like you just as you are Chrys." Hybrid or not, grumpy or not, she seemed fun enough to him. He might just be lucky though. Giving a smile he returned to his meal, happily gulping down his meal, cleaning his plate pretty quickly before moving on to the bread and some of the dessert as well. Only half though, wanting to save half of each dessert for Chrys as well.

A small chuckle left her lips, "If only." Chrysanthe replied as she stirred a spoon in her soup cautiously since the last thing she wanted to do was create another mess by being a spazz, "But most of the water tribe are all blue with my skin pattern, my golden traits come from the nomads living in Sauti. I was raised by my mother there while I never knew my b*****d of a father - please excuse me." She shook her head, "I never knew the man so my opinion of him is rather low." And was a good fodder for why she hated a lot of Matori men, especially those who just seemed like flirts that stayed for a good time before leaving you in the dust when things got serious. The thought made her frown before she leaned back in her seat away from the food, "Rough? I suppose you can say that. Most races prefer to keep their blood pure so coupling with a stranger, especially a Matorian is a very rare and unique thing for those in Sauti. It definitely gets attention where ever you go." She found herself growing silent as she watched him with apprehension. Perhaps it was simply because he was the first person to be so nice to her like this that she was so worried about getting his disdain but either way Chrys was actually concerned. If she were to admit to such a thing that was. I'm leaving after this meal so it doesn't matter... But her thoughts found themselves halting as he reassured her and the girl found her cheeks flushing and her gaze burning, "You.....really are a strange person." She found herself finally saying after a long pause before she reached for the desert to shove a piece in her mouth as a distraction. After all the times that people had sneered at her, tried to take advantage of her, and all the other negative experiences that she had always blamed on her heritage here was someone who was just an unending flood of kindness. It was strange....almost too unreal for the girl who was not accustomed to such treatment. A shock, truly. "This desert is re-really good." She mumbled through the bite before shoving another piece in her mouth as a tear managed to trail down her cheek despite her attempts to ignore it.

"Ohhh, I see." So the other woman he met was what a pureblood Matorian looked like? No matter, he felt that either way they looked quite pretty. It seemed to matter to her though as she'd seemingly had a lot of trouble with people not appreciating her just because she looked different then those of pureblood. He couldn't imagine disliking someone for such a reason but that was just him. Maybe it was because the Geian and Lightning tribes lived so closely with one another? It made him wonder about rethinking his plans for visiting Tendaji, they seemed a bit behind on the times there to him. As she suddenly announced that he was a 'strange person'. He blinked a couple times before he started to laugh, "I suppose that's fair." He was born and raised in a circus, one couldn't get any stranger then that. As such he couldn't really even act insulted. Torva tilted his head to one side as she set to eating some of the dessert, seemingly taken with it, "I'm glad you like it. You should try the pie too." He nudged it her wait, noticing but not commenting on the tear. He didn't want to point it out since it might displease her, best to play it cool.

A phantom of a smile crossed her features, "Once again so accepting of anything I throw your way so definitely strange it is." She paused before peeking up towards him, "Not that it's a bad thing I suppose...I can appreciate a little bit of strange here and there." She glanced back towards her desert with a small flush before glancing to the second plate, "Ah yes." She ate a piece and nodded before wiping at her eyes, "Must be some delicious berries in this pie." She managed before shaking her head, "It's just too good that I have to get a bit emotional over it." The hybrid stated lightly before pushing the mostly empty plate towards Torva, "Have mercy I don't think I can eat another bite. Thank you for the meal, Torva."

Torva gave a laugh, "Well it is true though. I mean how could someone like me who was raised by circus folk be seen as anything but strange? I don't mind though, it adds to my mystery and allows me to look more interesting to those I want to do shows for. Strange is good for drawing a crowd." Giving a nod Torva took a couple more bites of his own dessert and said, "Oh yeah, everything in this place is enough to make a person emotional. It's all far too tasty." As she seemed to throw in the towel, unable to eat anymore, he saw about quickly finishing up what he had left on his plate. Once he was done he asked, "Is there anywhere else you're wanting to go? I could escort you? Unless you have places to be then I definitely won't keep you." As the owner of the place came over to clear their dishes he asked for another order of cookies, to go this time, and then paid for their meal. Looking back to Chrys he said, "For my sisters. If they learned I came here and didn't bring them something I'd be in all sorts of trouble. They're kinda spoiled little things."

"I suppose that is true." A soft laugh escaped her lips as she just crossed her arms and studied the lightning boy. He truly was a light-hearted sort wasn't he? Chrysanthe felt refreshed just by spending this brief moment in time with him. Or perhaps that was also due to the food that was no warming her previously empty stomach? I probably should just say it was the food. She quipped silently to herself as she sat there with her gaze shimmering with faint amusement. She was very thankful though that he didn't pursue the issue and that he actually went along with her silly statement over the food's deliciousness, "Escort me?" Chrysanthe blinked in surprise at the offer before shaking her head quickly, "Oh no, no. I've already burned up so much of your time and you even bought me a meal so I really shouldn't bother you anymore." It was admittedly hard not to latch onto him now considering how relaxed and refreshed she felt while in his presence, but Chrysanthe always worried about becoming a burden to others. That was the last thing she wished to do to such a cheerful guy like this one. "I see." Chrysanthe smiled, "They're lucky to have such a brother to help spoil them." She had brothers but very few of them wanted to treat her in such a way. The thought sent a stab through her chest but the hybrid just smiled through it, "Once you get your cookies I should go find my room at the inn. I'll be probably in this area for a few days more so maybe we will run into each other again." She found herself adding hastily, "If not then you at least know to avoid the north end of town since I'll be in that area for the most part."

"If you're certain." He said when Chrys said that he'd burned up enough time on her. Giving a smile he said in a joking manner, "I had fun! I hope that it wasn't too bad having to hang out with me for so long." He was actually kind of sad to see her go since he'd been enjoying the time they were sharing. At the same time he knew he couldn't really keep her forever. Giving a bit of a laugh at her comment he said, "Maybe. That or they are lucky that I am so easy to walk all over and tease, it could be either way with them." He sounded more amused then anything, as though it didn't really bother him that the twins teased him. How could he when it wasn't personal? They did it to everyone so it wasn't as though it worried him. All that worried him was upsetting them since that meant practical jokes at his expense. Soon enough the woman arrived with a bag of cookies for him, something he tucked away into his pack, "I hope to run into you again, Chrys! If you see me around doing a show or something don't hesitate to come over and say hello! Maybe next time you can join me and do some tricks too. I'd be happy to teach you to juggle or something."

"Oh yes it was horrible, absolutely awful." Chrysanthe quipped back at his joke with a slight roll of the eyes, "Obviously I had to be dragged here." She gave him a look before shaking her head with a small smile, "Really though thank you for everything, Torva." Ugh, those words sounded kinda final didn't they? But it could be final considering she was just passing through after all. A traveler who rarely saw the same face twice. Her gaze shifted as he spoke about his siblings, "I could see that." She teased in return, "Though hopefully teasing means endearment so they must really love you." The hybrid shifted as the cookies arrived and she stood from her seat. Well it looked like her fun was over since they were separating now, "I don't know if I'm much of an entertainer type." She replied with amusement at his offer, "Though I could probably surprise you with how lightning fast I am when it comes to shooting." She latched her crossbow properly back into place and secured her satchel as she spoke, "But we'll have to see. Maybe we will meet and maybe we won't." Perhaps it was because she thought they may not meet again that she was bold enough to lean forward and give him a kiss on the cheek, "Thank you again, Torva. I had a really fun day thanks to you." Before she could reflect on what the hell she had just done Chrysanthe waved and slipped through the crowds and back into the streets where she could head to her room and rest.
