"There's a s**t-tonne of us and I don't even pretend to be able to remember all of their faces, let alone names!" She sounded way too chipper to be admitting something like that but that was Joy, "So I outright say it's nothing personal, especially if like the time we spent wasn't particularly memorable. I mean, sitting around waiting for something to happen during pod duty? I have a hard enough time not falling asleep."
His request at the mission though got a thumbs up, "You got it! It'd be nice to be able to actually call out to people to have my back and vice versa and actually know their name. Instead of just going by hoy, or something."

"'Hoy'?" he asked with a weird mix of amusement and confusion on his way. Amusement because he imagined it was similar to how he went about things, shouting "you" at whoever he was trying to get the attention of, and confusion because it wasn't a term he knew.
"Sounds good, though. You obviously have my number since you called me out. I...think I have yours, too." He pulled his phone out and checked before nodding. "Yep, got it."

"Hoy, huy, that kinda sound. And damn right you better have my name. You did answer my text! Next time if you go on missions and stuff and need some backup, you can always call me."
If the rain had let up, being in the basement wasn't conducive to finding that out. Which was why when Joy was relatively dry, she volunteered to excuse herself out of his room. Give the guy back his privacy and all.
