Cordelia heard his question but only enough to know that he was asking her something. His voice sounded distant, prompting her to reach out for him, snagging him by the wrist just as a memory took her. "Jinyue! Jinyue, you promised. You said that after we finished our studies for the day you would help me write a letter to Papa." The girl tugged at the sleeve of her companion, eventually slipping her hand into his so that she could pull him along instead. He was always so prim and proper about things-- have to do this first, must be responsible...
"Come on, Jin, the messenger birds are up here!"
She released his hand so that she could race up the stairs while he took his time moving up them behind her. She had heard her mother say at one point that she was going to have words with someone in regards to making sure that her nephew had 'things more suitable for Corvus' among his wardrobe for visits. What was it that she had said '... two senshi in the family-- might as well make sure they still have time to be children somewhere'.
At the top of the stairs she paused just long enough to wait for her cousin to join her, flashing him a bright, toothy smile before heading over to the wall to snag a piece of parchment along with a quill and a vial of ink. She sat down at the table, practically vibrating on with excitement on the bench as she waited for Jinyue to join her. She scooted just a bit closer to him once he'd sat down, nudging the paper closer to him. "Please?"
"Not this time, Aldara. You have to learn to make the letters legible on your own sometime. I said that I would help you, not do it for you...." Just like that she was back again, face pale and eyes wide with fingers still biting lightly into Luc's wrist. "Luc... Did you...?" --- "I should hope not. It doesn't smell like oil down here, at least." Not natural oil and not really like any form of plant based oil, either-- a bit damp, though. Water was probably right. Her tail ticked as she watched Sumi disappear into the pipe work, mouth pressed into a thin line. She didn't want to worry about the younger Mau, but she did, not wanting Luc to be disappointed if Sumi was hurt under her watch either. She didn't tell him to mind himself or be careful, though, instead trusting and waiting for him to tell her if he needed any assistance.

He reached over and set his hand over hers so he could hopefully get her hand to relax a bit. "Yea ... I did." Seeing something on a world that wasn't his own was strange but he should have expected it eventually. He knew, from his own memories that they had traveled to each others worlds often, knew that they'd been cousins even back then, so it wasn't too strange to see his own memory here. "Have you not seen me here before?" --------------------------------------------------------------------- He wandered along the pipes for a bit until he came to another set of cogs. When he spotted what he was looking for he grinned. Stuck around one cog was a clamp, one put on to make the machinery stop for repairs. Something told him it wasn't repairs but stopping someone else from using the machinery but it needed to go. With a bit of shoving he managed to pop the clamp off. There was a loud grinding noise somewhere under them, probably deeper in the mountain, before the cogs began to grind into movement again. "Is the panel working now?" He called out back to Eta yelling over the grinding.

"I..." She was still dazed visibly, starting slightly when she felt his hand rest over hers. Cordelia drew back, releasing his hand as she did so in order to look around. The memory had been so vivid and seeing the tower as it had been then? "No," she shook her head as she closed her eyes, one hand coming up to rest on her forehead for a moment before fingers drifted back over the top of her head. "That... That was the first real memory I've had here, I think. Flashes, feelings, but never anything like that. Is that what it's like always? Like you're here, but not here? Stars..." --- "Sumi! Sumi, it's working!" Eta shouted up to him as the panel beneath her feet flickered to life. She couldn't understand any of the symbols on the screen, but nothing was flashing any sort of horrible colors and, other than the rumbling grind of machinery coming to life after years of dormancy, there were no odd noises either. "You are brilliant, Sumi. Stars, I knew I should have brought you here with me sooner."

"The flashbacks are, yea. I didn't know you hadn't had a proper one before or I'd have warned you. They can be a little disconcerting the first few times." Over the years he'd had enough of them that he was almost used to the strange out of body feeling. "I get them more often now but they're a lot shorter than they used to be." He could still almost hear the birds though. The shuffling of feathers and the soft noises as they'd moved around. ---------------------------------------------------------------- He smiled as he made his way back along the pipes and squeezed himself back out onto the shelf the panel was on. "There was a clamp on the cogs. So someone stopped everything on purpose which means that if there are more they probably aren't broken either."

"I hadn't had one yet. I was starting to think that maybe I wouldn't. God, Luc, she was so young. No more than five or six... Just as excited to see the birds as she was to spend time with someone who wasn't going to try and pin her down in one place to do something she had no interest at all in." Cordelia shook her head once more before letting her eyes drift around the room. "It was so different then so..." A strange noise coming from somewhere below interrupted her train of thought. She paused, brow furrowing. "What on earth...? Luc? Did you hear that?" --- Once he'd settled back down on the panel next to her she leaned over, lightly butting her head against his. "I don't know if I would have even thought to check up there, Sumi-- Shall we go see what that did?"

"Means you used to be a chibi probably." He smirked slightly, running a hand through his hair. It had been weird seeing them both that young but at least he now knew they had been raised together in a way. The strange sound caught his attention just as it caught hers and he nodded. "Yea. That sounded like ... something metal falling over. Maybe we should find Eta and Sumi and see if they know what's going on?" ------------------------------------------------- "Yea, is there a pond or a fountain or something near by?" That would at least tell them if water was flowing maybe. He didn't know what else might be attached to the machines but water seemed like a good bed. "Cordelia and Lucien probably heard it too so they'll be curious."

She pointedly ignored his comments about how she must have been a chibi in the past, knowing well he knew how she felt about them now. She could at least hope that if she had awoken in the past as Chibi Sailor Corvus that she had been given the time to grow and learn the ways of her people and what it meant to be a Sailor Soldier. She could hope that she hadn't awoken as a child into war. "Knowing whatever Eta might have been getting into on her own lately, it's probably her fault." Cordelia huffed as she turned to head for the stairs, flipping her lantern back on in order to light the way back down. --- "That is why I told them to meet us back at the courtyard." They had accomplished everything that she had hoped they would and more. Provided this panel did as she expected, water would now be returned to the castle grounds. Eta beamed brightly at the other Mauvian as she hopped down from the panel, waiting for him to join her on the ground before trotting back the way they'd come so they could meet their senshi companions outside once more.
