Nadiya - 3
Nadiya grinned as her sibling refused to introduce her, "It's true though I do enjoy a dramatic entrace~" She winked playfully towards her sister, "But today I guess I'll have to be a bit more behaved. I'm Nadiya~" She bowed her head in greeting, "A musician and collector of stories. Obviously this one is included as it seems you're a story teller as well." She raised a brow towards the journalist, "So anything you have let me know. Other than that we just arrived recently and had no idea that these disappearances were a thing."
She nudged Neryssa playfully despite the worry in the air, "Unless my sister has been collectin' people to watch her dance I honestly don't know where these people are goin'~"

Tyiva - 4Tyiva could only tilt her head slightly in interest as Karo stared at her. Was there something odd about her face? The warrior could only smile as the Oban quickly averted her gaze back towards the leaders. I suppose it isn't the time for teasing so I'll behave. With that her own attention went back to see what would be revealed.

Nadiya - 4
As they waited to hear more information Nadiya twisted on her tiptoes so that she could look around the crowd again. Mostly it was full of people from Belrea, but then the girl had to stop when she noticed an Oban and an Alkidike standing rather close together. More foreigners? Strange pair... She would love to find out their story, but then her attention shifted back to her sister and the journalist. For now it was more important to focus on the major story about to unfold around them. Talk about all the action that this could bring!

Chapter 9: Grave Expectations
|| IC ||
As the leaders settled and a hush went though the crowd, each one seemed keen to begin their discussion. They were all older, none younger than 50 years of age and each filled with a lifetime of wisdom and discovery. They were the leaders of their sectors, the leaders of the Academy, and the leaders of Belrea. And they were here, sitting before their community, to solve a problem.
It was Ardah, the leader of the Sector of Safety, that spoke up first. He was a fit man for his age, yet clearly growing older with the translucent silver that lined his hairline. As the original one to look into the problem, he was designated as the lead for the meeting, and would manage the conversation between his peers.
"As you were all previously notified on, there has been some troublesome news as of late. Reports have come in across our island that individuals have disappeared. Initially, we assumed this was related to the new transport to and from the mainland, but the frequency and character of the disappearances gave us pause..."
"Indeed," Maniea spoke up, the lightning leader of the Sector of Leisure, "A prominent musician disappeared three nights before her performance. She had scheduled a trip across the island, so there was no reason for her to flee..."
The other leaders murmured some of the reports they heard as well. A young farmer left to tend his fields, only to have disappeared without any sort of tracks. A miner went into the coal mines, down a new path and never returned. A transporter went to service one of the zeppelins, only to disappear that night.
"Once we caught wind of a trend, I sent out my team to evaluate each scene of the disappearance," Ardah reported, "There was no sign of foul play, and each one seemed to disappear without a trace." He seemed to hold back a moment, before looking out to the crowd and clearing his throat.
"It is my strong suggestion that we decrease the trips to and from the mainland, and send out a notice to Belreans to stay vigilant and never travel alone. So far, the disappearances have only occurred to those who are alone..."
The leaders began to debate, mostly around the travel to and from the mainland. It was clear that their back and forth was a sign that the crowd could speak up if they so choose, and some began to speculate and react to the news that was shared.

Yokka- Post 3
Perking up in her seat, Yokka watched the leaders with an alert expression. Individuals disappearing... So it was true. Not just people who worked under the radar; prominent people as well! She raised a hand to tap her fingers against her lips curiously.
Don't travel alone? Well, that wouldn't be too hard for her. She had enough siblings at home, and stayed around people with her work anyway. She slowly looked around at those in the theater though. Not everyone lived with other people. Some here knew those who had vanished. ..If there was no trace, how could those people be found again?

Sethaeus Post 3Sethaeus shook his head, "No, I've not seen anyone disappear...I've heard rumors, but most assumed it was someone who ran to the mainland..." He was a bit startled as they continued, surprised at all of the reports across the land. He wondered if it was also overseas, or if there was someone local who was causing these problems. Maybe it was someone from the mainland, someone dangerous who snuck on a ship. He sure hoped that that wasn't the case... "Have you had anything happen related to this?"

Raeka
Disappearances? Rakea grew quickly concerned, pulling on her jacket and biting her lip. This was serious, and although she knew about it, she didn't realize it was this wide spread. Was this something they needed to be concerned about? Did she need to protect herself and her family? The girl hadn't heard anyone from the Academy disappear, but maybe it was only a matter of time.
Yes, she would make sure to travel with another and that her crew was always accounted for.
Turning her head, she looked behind her only to catch sight of a Geian. She looked a bit worried, so Raeka offered her a reassuring smile.

Tyiva - 5Tyiva's gaze narrowed at the news, " So we may not be able to return quickly...." Not that she had been originally intending upon leaving as soon as possible, but now that there was potential danger back home the Alkidike was worried. What of her mystic? Even if there were sisters to protect her it still made Tyiva wary. There were others back home as well...she glanced towards Karo thoughtfully. How would the Oban handle the idea of potential dangers back in her own lands?

Nadiya - 5
A prominent musician? Maybe someone was just really fond of music. But even that joke couldn't leave Nadiya's lips. It seemed that whatever was going on really was quite serious. Her lips pursed the Matori glanced to her sister, "I suppose we better keep close then, Neryssa." She commented, a rare moment of seriousness in her gaze, "Just cause it'll be hard to have someone play music for you or for someone to dance to mine." She teased, a quick cover up to the worry that had crossed her gaze in that moment.
It was a good thing they had planned on staying in Belrea for a while. She just hoped that their family was doing okay back home.

Chapter 9: Grave Expectations
|| IC ||
As people began to speak up, some began to shift away from the foreigners in the crowd. Were they the ones causing all of these issues? It had to be the case if the Academy was reducing the trips to and from the Mainland. Some of the Geians, those part of the sector of safety, placed their hands on their weapons and glowered at the few strangers in the crowd.
Others, all over, began to speak up on their speculations and concerns, "We should stop everyone from entering the Island until we can confirm who is causing this!"
"It has to be those mainlanders, they are always causing wars! They even brag about the wars they have over land and money! Didn't you hear about how they banished people to this island, for so long that their stones grew dark?"
More voices rose up, but others argued that maybe they needed more logic. More research. More study of what was happening. However, those voices were quickly silenced, as the concerned folk who focused on safety demanded they do more than simply wait and see.
The tension in the room began to echo off the walls as the Academy leaders watched with silent expressions, listening to the responses and calculating their own.

Howthpost four
There was no easy way to say that he spent most of his time with his parents or at home without sounding like he didn't have a life—which to be fair, he didn't—so Howth just shook his head.
"My family tends to stick together or stay home, despite me being here alone today." It had probably been a poor idea in hindsight, but what was done was done. "I don't think we should be throwing around suspicion so casually, however. What benefit would a mainlander gain from stealing away individual people?" If they jumped to conclusions and closed Belrea without evidence of wrongdoing, weren't they just as bad as those who had sent troublemakers away to Yael?

Sethaeus Post 4Seth was about to respond in same, and almost laughed at the thought, when it suddenly felt like the crowd was heaving around him. He glanced about with a bit of discomfort at the more vocal people, and cringed at the flash of the swords. "The Academy needs to step in...this isn't going to end well..." He mumbled, before turning to his companion, "You're right, why come across the sea when we are so willing to see them? Seems foolish, and there's no way they wouldn't get caught trying to get back..."

Chapter 9: Grave Expectations
|| IC ||
Academy Members rushed forward from the front, pushing past the crowd to the identified location of the few foreigners. They were from the sector of safety, and quickly moved to stand guard and protect them as needed. The leaders called out for silence, resorting to banging on the table as their voices echoed across the hall.
Ardah finally spoke, his voice booming, "Enough! This is not the way of Belrea, and this is unacceptable!"
A hush began to fall on the crowd at that, and many seemed to catch themselves.
"We are not a people of war, and I will not allow any of this to continue. Silence yourselves and put away your weapons or you will be banished from these halls indefinitely!"
When finally everyone grew calm, he adjusted his jacket and nodded to his team to stand down from where they gathered around the foreigners, "There is no need to point fingers nor blame anyone. If we were concerned about such things, we would make it known. For now, the mainlanders are no threat..."
Suddenly, a series of screams sounded from the back of the room. The crowd pushed away from a figure in black, as one Geian fell back into it's arms as if in a trance. Her eyes were glazed over and unfocused, and the figure seemed to buzz and click above her head. It looked like a bug, with dark skin and quivering mandibles. The crowd moved back even more, making it impossible for the Sector of Safety members to move through and help the girl. She was dragged slowly back into a rift in the air, pulled away without any struggle what so ever as people screamed in fear and demands for someone, anyone to help.

Neryssa Post 4
A scream came from the petite dancer as she too backed away from whatever it was that was pulling someone into a rift. A hand over her mouth she looked around at everyone else who also seemed too shocked and stiff with fear to do anything. What was that thing? Where was it taking the woman? Shaking her head, hiding behind the one who had been questioning her and her sister.
"What is that thing? Where is it taking that woman?" Neryssa said in a panic almost too scared to look again at whatever it was...

Limbree Post 3
With all the buzz in the place, Limbree had drifted off into her own little place, it was only the scream from behind that brought her back. Whipping around, she had pilled her crossbow from where it had been laying. While she was not skilled with it yet, she could at least try and startle the thing? It made the hair on the back of her neck raise. The shrilled shriek of Skitter filled her ear as the critter leaped from her back and through the crowd away from everything.
"Skitter, come back here." Limbree shouted before turning her attention back to what was happening. First most, what in the heck was that thing? Second where was it going and third. Why was no one doing anything! "Could this get any worse?" She hoped that wasn't answered, moving forward to try and do something to free the woman.
