"Oh! You hit hard for such a little thing. I'm impressed. It's good to see that one of you can actually fight. Those two," a shadowed hand waved in the direction of Melvin and Lawr, or at least seemed to.

The part of the shadow that had to be some sort of staff lazily drifted in Jordan's direction. A light poke if anything.

"Is that all you've got?"

Jordan couldn't help a brief, incredulous look at Lawr for his "helpful" suggestion, but he quickly returned his attention to the shadowy figure. Was it playing with him? It was hard to tell; so far its attacks weren't very potent. That didn't mean that they couldn't be.

"No," he replied simply, and stepped in to slam Ferros into the shadow again, attempting to press it back. Ferros rumbled with satisfaction in Jordan's mind, and his runes lit up a hot, steady red.

HP: 36/70

The creature was right. He couldn't stand here and watch as Jordan did nothing. It was one thing to guard Lawr if Lawr wanted to fight, but standing here wasn't helping either. He didn't need to get close after all, and while it was fighting Jordan, he could fire at it from his post near Lawr.

So he did.

"Oh!" Did it sound impressed? Maybe. "You do know how to hit hard, and I see your friend does, too." Did it pause to look at all three of them? Maybe.

It took a step back, "Thank you for the dance, but I think it's my time to flee the ball." There was a chuckle, and then the shadow was gone.

The shadow was gone as suddenly as it had come, and Jordan took a step back, looking around the cavernous space of the lobby suspiciously. Was it still lurking, waiting for them to lower their guard? "What the hell."

After a few moments, he looked to Melvin and Lawr. "I have a charge. How are your shields doing?"
