“It….” He looked at her surprised and waved his paw over it and helped the burn. Shaking his head and hissing at the cat.
“This isn’t anything good. What he did may help you here- but out in your world… It won’t be anything good. That I can tell you.” Not wanting to shake the little girl too much.
The cat lifted himself and slowly became a human. “What were you thinking!?” “She made a contract with me.” “She is a child!” “....” The cat’s ears went down as his mask fell upon his face. “She’s your responsibility now… and you will have to live with that from now on. Your funny business can kill her now. Remember that cat.” The cat didn’t answer, when he saw the burn on her, he almost felt a tingle guilty and got up and left the den.
“You can stay here til you feel better.. I can try and get a fairy to help fix you, but I don’t know if that would be wise… But since you're marked now. I guess I can try..don’t worry about that cat. He always comes back. He just needs to grow up a little little girl.”
Rara climbed a tree and watched the den from afar… Thinking about what happened and touched the ribbon she tied on him.
“Adult spirits do this all the time. I don’t know what's the big deal anyways.” Deflecting it.
Within the tree, ‘Mother’ stood, watching Rara from the window… Feeling a contract being made with the human. Shaking her head and laughing.. Sitting at her desk. “He made a contract with a human!? HAHAHAH~~~! I can’t wait til he trips this up… Let the show begin.”
“..I guess I should take you to a fairy or something.. If you can walk- if not you can climb on my back.”

Nyte looked up at the elder. “Only if you feel its needed..” she looked at the mark. “I’m not in much pain...its bearable.” she sat there waiting for the elder to move. She knew the small cat would return, she had a feeling. Though now she wondered what their “mother” would do…

Watching as the fox took his human. There was the feeling of guilt rearing it's head again. He touched his chest and it felt pain. Why? He didn't understand it himself.
The kitsune nudged under the girl and ran through the shroud with her upon his back and to a rather scary looking nook. The walls decorated in skulls of things in storytales.
“You brought a human in to my home?” The sound of inhaling nostrils and a rather hideous creature reared it's head.
“Can you heal her.” “What's in it for me?”
He sighed. “Clippings of some of my tail. What do you say?” “Partically Acceptable. How about I get the human’s heart?” “Not gunna happen fairy.” “Hmm… clippings it is.”
Going to his tail with sizzles as it ascended to flames, clippings were cut and bottles with the flames forever burning within it.
“Now then” She looked the girl over. “Burns I can heal but I can not break the contract they have.” “Could you cover it up from human eyes?”
The fairy looked at him and laughed sinisterly. Putting a burning creme upon the girls burns. They sizzles and soon the burns and the mark disappeared.
“I'm sure Mother is amused with your new pet.”
He huffed and helped her on top of him then off he went through the shroud village. “You'll need to work to earn your safety of living here. Just because he can protect you, if he dies. They will forever know of your existence and likely eat you.”
Walking down in to the underground tunnels and in to a steamer room. “There is a creature down there that can get you a job. Earn your keep and you won't be eaten.”
Sliding her off then nudging her along. “Say the fallen fox sent you.”
The cat now knew where she was at all times. Could almost see what she sees and feel what she felt. Like they were now apart of one another. He growled at the fear he felt from her.

The child kept herself small when they came around the fairy. She shivered letting out a mere whimper when the cream was applied. She gladly clung to the elder as he whisked her away. When they came to a stop she looked around...ah...a bath house. She remembered working in one of these a while back. She looked up to the fox nodding. “Thank you.”
She figured the elder was doing this because the cat was his charge. As she walked up the child thought over a name she could give out. A protection of sorts...only the fox and cat would know her real name….she’d have to see what the workers here were like. She looked up after letting out a squeak when a shadow fell over her. She looked up at the worker in front of her. “U-uhm...the...the fallen fox...sent me…” she stuttered out.

An octupus looking man turned, her shadow casted over the small creature. “Ah.” She turned completely as the rest of her arms signed away papers and pulled levers. “Fallen fox!? That damn thing! Bringing in more dirt!” She graveled for about a good thirty minutes about her experience with the fox only to come back, look back at the girl and push her along. “Don’t just stand there- Get to work then!”
Pushing her aside, even down of her arm was careless.
Baby foxes began to circle her and one with a bucket with another on its side with a brush. “Well!” The old creature barked.
The pups circled around, ones tail hit the girl and burned her. They were pups who didn't know any better still. One tried no ming on her leg. “hey! Don't bite!” The older creature barked without turning around again from her work.
When the fox got back he saw the cat up in a tree. “Can't hide out forever. Sooner or later you'll have to take responsibility. She's a kid. Take her to her own kind!”
The cat turned its head. Not wanting to hear it.

The small kit did as she was told. Jumping at the burn she sighed...pups. As she went about her duty she marvelled at all the different creatures here. Knowing where her place was the small kit knew not to stand out. She was a meal to them...nothing more than that. Thought she did like the pups around her. The little ones were most likely judging her but at least she knew that they didn’t mean to harm. They learned from their elders...that was all. She kept out of sight…

The octupus woman wasn’t pleasant in the least. The pups were all about and finally showed what they were used for. Heating a giant tub. The octupus woman, giant as she was slowly moved her body in and sunk in to the water. She needed a bath for today, her fox lover was something less than troublesome to her. A human child!? From the beyond world.. They needed her gone. Why would he even hide such a thing here?
“So your gunna stay up there forever!?” The fox waited.. “Fine! I’ll take her to the human village myself!” The fox man turned back to his creature form, and in a whisp- ran off. The cat was more than upset about the situation, but he stayed up in the tree til he looked down at her ribbon.. Their contract… Like that- he disappeared and after two days he showed up at Nyte’s drawer that the octupus let her sleep in. It was steel, and once closed, could hide any scent. It was big- enough room for her to sit up in but not much to move around.
The fox visited her the day before, telling her the cat had gone missing. Now, the cat was upon her. Her ribbon tied neatly around his neck. “Come on… before she wakes up.” Pulling her hand. “Wake up.”

Nyte woke up with a start. Blinking as she saw it was the little fox. “Tus…” she clamped her hand over her mouth as to avoid them being heard. She whispered to him. “Where have you been? What’s wrong?” she tilted her head as her hand clasped around his.

“We’re running away.” He huffed and when he showed his eyes to her, they seemed more determined. Pulling her out of the drawer. The octopus lady snored loudly, as he looked over to her, judging the fox for his adventurous scandalous lovers. The pups were all sleeping and no doubt they would tell their father that he was seen there. “Carry me out, and I’ll show you the way.” Turning in to a puff of fire that became his small cat form. If we can get to a vent, I can guide us.” He whispered in her ear.

She blushed at feeling his breath in her ear. Nodding she was lightfooted in her sprint to one of the many vents. Climbing up into it. She looked at the tiny cat on her shoulder. Feeling her instincts from those years she spent running and hiding kicking in again. She nodded for him to direct her.

It would be a few miles away, that he directed her. When the close was clear from that octupus giant- he leaped down and turned back to his neko self. His tail flicking with the ribbon she tied as he lead her further and further away from the small city. Beyond that, were ruins of a shrine. “It’s not much.. But its shielded from humans and too far for those to catch us.” It was naive to think of such practice of safety.
He turned around. “I don’t what things you need. So I can go in to the other world. Whatever you need you can just.. Make a list or something.” Showing her the shrine and then a small house next to it. Surely on the other side it was home to a priest or priestess, a failure he was sure. “On the other side, they didn’t put so much wards in here. So that way I can come in and out.” Pointing her to the room and so she was comfortable, he had already been picking things from the other world. Like a flame, that was blue in their world- next to the bed that looked like it had quite the expensive fluffy sheets. Which was more like hay on the bottom of the sheets like a nest. On the bedside table, there was an assortment of fruits and foods from the other side. “And I got those in case you’re hungry.”

She nodded as she looked around to the place he brought her. “Thank you.” she said while she sat on the bed. Picking up a few of the items she glanced to him. “Did you want some as well? Or do you eat other things?” she was partly curious. She thought about what she would need to make a life here. How long would they be safe here? She was used to running. She could figure out how to set up a alarm system of sorts if she had the proper things. Though...she wasn’t good at hiding it. She sat there and hummed, musical in the sound.

There was a silence of him looking around, aimlessly at things he was taking a notice of fixing, maybe.“I eat you.” He turned around. “Does that frighten you?” The light of the moon was just right against his face, in one hand he looked majestic while the other, made him look terrifying within the shadows.
“What do you think we eat? Have you wondered? I’m sure, but as to why you wondered so far in to our territory can be anyone’s guess. But now you are already here. And your bonded by contract to me. So clean this place, and live here- as I tell you.” His demands were rough, but he would only be looking out for her and take responsibility. That’s what the contract was, and of course, giving her his aid- or power when she needed it.
“You can call me- and I will come. Call my name, I’ll be there. We are bonded, as I come to realize- it’s rather annoying to not answer, but I was busy finding this place for you. Now I’m free to do as you wish it- just be careful, the trees listen.” Kneeling down in front of her, watching her eat in a way to make her near uncomfortable, but he was really examine HOW she ate. A curiosity he had developed when watching humans as a pass time before consuming them.

She blinked as he answered her. Watching him in the moonlight she answered him honestly. “If the time came or if something fatally wounds me.” she paused a moment. “I wouldn’t mind you eating me.” she admitted as she picked up a few more things. She honestly didn’t mind her current situation. She felt it was more bearable than being alone or on the end of nothing but like a utter freak among those she was suppose to feel at home with. She had magic at her fingertips. Granted it was purely healing and not much in the way of attack.
She nodded. “Its a simple enough task for me. I’ve had to do worse.” She had to build her own shelter plenty of times as her clan moved and none let her stay with them. She glanced up to meet his eyes as she ate. Finding his curiosity rather amusing she licked her lips. “Humans eat much the same as you spirits I suppose...unless you just gulp down the souls of your meal.”
She didn’t mind him this close. Rather her magic was restoring her body as she had suffered injuries so she was getting used to tapping into it more and more.

“Thats good to know.” He huffed, and sat in the chair, tilting it backwards as he waited for the stress of her liking the place had passed. With her, he felt anxious. Too anxious. “We do gulp the souls of our meals... “ He answered nonchalantly like most of his answers were her being alive amused him, like an experiment he needed to dote on. A yawn came from him, which was absent, as there was no need to. “We can stay here as long as you're good, if you don’t follow the rules. I will eat you.”
He took some thought in to these as he began to make this their home. The spirit realm would come close to this place, even engulf it at witching hour. It would mildly keep her safe he thought, no one knew where he’d be. Where he was, not even mother.
“1. Don’t trust anyone. 2. Don’t trust roses. 3. Birds are the enemy. 4. Don’t let strangers in. 5. Don’t come to the springs again. Got it? Oh and of course, keep this place clean, I don’t like to dirty my fur.” Getting up slowly, he meant to spend more time with her but the time was calling him out into the spirit territory. “I have to go. Do errands for that octopus that cared for you. Remember, don’t trust anyone.” Opening a window with the wind of his flames that began to engulf some parts of him and with that, he took one foot out the window, and his body squirmed its way in twists to get out but partially to peek if anyone followed him. Coast was clear and he jumped out and left.
The trees did speak.. And speak they did. It wasn’t soon after that a crow began patrolling the area- all seeing crow. Watching something that flustered through it’s domain and one thought led to another as he perched itself upon a branch. Ever watching. The trees waved… and weaved.. Something was amist, and the crow would make note of the spirit that slipped in, it took flight again. This time, making note, and watch closely the area.
He came in to service at the spring, and the workers, were working and he tried to slip by undetected, except for the smell of humans, got others looking at him, brought attention fast and by the time he got to the octupus she shrieked. “You smell of human, Did you FINALLY~ eat that little runt- please tell me you did, and how did she taste, I wondered it, each moment she breathed. “I ate her.” The octupus laughed. “You should have saved me some!” Word traveled fast and quickly the fox came after, with all of his kitsune children biting at his ankles. “I heard you smelt- “
Rara laughed. “Word travels fast.” Taking a bucket, what the human did before, Rara would do in her place for a while. “Why are you picking that up, full of orders…” “Because I’m helping Ema out.” “But… that isn’t your job. You should be out leading poor souls to their death- we all have roll here. Come on, stop playing around.” “He ate the human and didn’t share it with us, you must have got it that horrible attitude from you.” “Thanks dear.” He emphasized and huffed at him and pulled his arm. “You ate her?” “Yea?” “I don’t believe you, your contract didn’t state that. Nor would you eat her- you protected her too much. Invested too much. Where is she- she better not be in the springs.” “She’s in my tummy- so I guess she is~” Rara huffed at him, pushed him away and continued to pull the buckets in for the customers.
The Kitsune looked at his Octopus mate and wished her to not exist sometimes, while other times he felt at home with her rudeness. “He gets that from you.” Picking up one of his kitsune pups and petting them endearly.
A few weeks passed, and by this point, Rara would bring back food from the spirit realm for her to eat. He didn’t think anything of it, and he certainly didn’t know the properties against humans vs spirits food. All he knew was that the spirits loved the food, and he hoped so did she. In fact, she could eat the food, at a great cost… becoming sick and near dying. He didn’t know but on this particular day, the crow shadowed over head as he came to the door. He knocked, and when no one answered, he figured she was ignoring him. A flicker of his tail in irritation before he walked to the window and knocked…
“HEY. YOU! OPEN!’ He yelled.. The crow circling around over head…
