Hunter was sending everyone texts again, but when Paige looked at her phone she had to re-read the text about jousting. That sounded fun, though when she turned up to see what it entailed she shouted in pure excitement. They got to ride monsters into battle yes she could dig this.
She already knew which one she wanted to ride into battle, however upon running to the stables filled with monsters ready to tear her limb from limb, she was informed that there were no extra Steves, and was pointed to what she assumed was a large fox horse. Clearly not as big as the other ones.
< It doesn't look...too weak? > Whirl offered some support.
Paige's mount wasn't so much as aggressive as it just refused to do anything. It took one look at her, huffed, and turned around ti sit down, not even looking at her.
"Aww, come on!" She grabbed the reins and pulled them, pulled them some more and proceeded to do this for a good ten minutes until she sat down, annoyed the 'weird furry s**t' wasn't doing a thing she asked.
When it was clear the fluffy thing didn't want anything to do with her, Paige just sighed. "How about we go find another mount" Maybe she would get lucky and get the steve one.
She went back to the pens, steeping in front of...nothing? There was nothing there...
She walked around and found another large amount of...nothing
"Ah"

Walking up to the pen where she heard someone yelling, Aya made a face as she glanced over to the creatures that were penned up.
They looked aggressive.
Aya smiled, kind of wanting to do that. It looked wild enough for her tastes... and a challenge as well.
She was definitely up for a challenge.
Walking up to a blue dragonlike creature, she blinked, wondering where its wings were... but figured this one looked aggressive enough to take on anything.
"Okay, beastie. Let's get you tamed, huh?"
It snapped at her hand, and she snorted at it. She could do this. For sure.
CHARACTER: Aya DIVISION: Moon META JOURNAL ARCANA: Wheel of Fortune BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF MY CHARACTER: Aya is of medium height, has purple hued hair with white bangs, fair skin, and black sclera contacts with purple pupils (mostly to weird people out). It wouldn't be a far stretch to say that her favorite color was purple, but she does seem to have a humorous attitude about most things.
Her weapon is a staff with various flower designs carved into it, as well as the standard runes.
Watching as the dragon made a soft cooing noise, Aya laughed.
"Oh no. I'm not falling for that trick. You snapped at my hand when I tried to pet you just now. I am not that stupid." Smirking, she crossed her arms and gave it some distance, and was surprised to see that it was still cooing and purring with appreciation towards her.
Huh.
Maybe she had a knack for this after all.

Since her weapon could sense it's presence, Paige figured there must be something there, even if she couldn't see it. It would be interesting to ride something you couldn't even see.
She looked around the area for any sign of where this thing was, and spied a large leash nearby. Picking it, she gave it a experimental tug. The line went taught, pulling her with a extreme force, sending her flying across the pen and into the wall
Walking around the creature, Aya continued to give it a wide berth until she thought the cooing was actually kind of sincere and not a ploy to get her to come closer, so she saddled it and got on to lance.
Glancing around, she frowned. Where was her lance!?
"REAL WEAPONS," Boomed Hunter, and she grimaced, giving the assistant a look of thanks as she got ready to fight another random Hunter Jouster.
HJ. Yep, fun nickname.
"Let's do this," She urged her mount, spurring it forward and maneuvering her lance to knock the other guy off of his mount, watching as he rolled to the ground, continuing to roll over away from her mount.
Her mount screeched and reeled up, hissing at her as it bucked her off and took to the skies.
Huh. Apparently the thing hated her. Who figured?
Dusting herself off, she watched as the other stood up and did the same, giving her a smile.
"Good joust," He called, waving to her as she smiled in return.
"You, too." Aya looked around, wondering.
Great.
Now what?

Once she was on her feet, Paige walked towards where she thought the thing was, judging by where the leash ended up. She stood there, staring at...nothing. There was nothing there. Okay well there was a thing there but seriously this was hard to figure out.
< I say shout at it. Prove your dominance over it >
With a shrug she took a breath and bellowed out some primitive war cry. Nothing happened, but at least it wasn't trying to kill her.
Pedro was not Sun but even though the message was from the Sun Lead, it was a mass text for everyone. It sounded interesting to say the least, hence Pedro would show up to try his hand at jousting. If he could be much more useful as a squire rather than a jouster, well, he would have to know what a jouster would need to start with, right?
When he came to find his mount, he wasn't expect the Non-Alpha Wolf to pick him. (Although replace pick with almost tackle and maul.)

With a mount "chosen" (yes those are air quotes), Pedro set about to taming the minipet. He put on a collar, then a leash, being careful despite having a FEAR shield because you never know what minipets (let alone Apex minipets) are capable of. His caution proved useful in this case as the Non-Alpha Wolf suddenly yanked at the leash.
Nearly ripping off the Mist Hunter's arm in the process. He gave a startled gasp but managed to keep his hold on the apex minipet, digging his heels into the ground to remind the creature that while Pedro was a nice guy, he wasn't about a doormat to be walked all over by minipets. (Fellow hunters might say otherwise about him.)

The Mist Hunter continued in his attempt at taming the minipet when Hunter approached. Naturally, Pedro shut his mouth in the presence of authority, which was a good thing in this case as Hunter seemed more interested in talking to the mount than to him. But whatever was said worked because Pedro's mount was now tamed.

In life as in Death, Ruth was accustomed to being disappointed by everything and everyone. She didn't often show this as she liked keeping up appearances (even if it was only up to a certain point) but when she saw what kind of Mount she was going to have to joust with, well, she was not exactly pleased. She let out a deep, deep sigh when she saw that the apex mount was some weird furry s**t.
Oh well ******** you too, she thought as she went to go get it.
It wasn't enough for Ruth to simply tame the minipet. What Ruth really wanted to do was break its will to obey only her own. When confronted with what most saw as a cute adorable face, she blew a ring of smoke into its face and hissed a string of curse words into its large ears.
