Andrea looked from Owen to Sam and then back to Owen. “I was dying.” She said softly. It shouldn't have even been a question of whether or not to have the doppleganger heal her. He blamed Sam, but had been wasting time on the Criss Cross case instead of looking for a healer himself. She didn't want to hear his excuses. She could feel tears well up as she went from giddy to cold rage to upset in almost as many minutes. April 8, 2012 ※ 12:17※Not In Costume

"You were and I worked at all ends to keep it from happening." Now it was Owen who felt a slight tinge of anger. He had worked really hard to keep her alive and follow up leads in the Criss Cross investigation. Now she seemed to think he didn't care at all. If that was true, she would have been dead. He wasn't the warm type of person anymore. Not with people like Andrea and Sam. But they were on his team and because of that he cared about them. He just didn't like showing it. He felt that if he didn't, he wouldn't feel the pain of loss as he had before. Yet in moments where an emotion flared he tended to lose his grip on his words. If she pressed, he didn't know what he would say. He didn't know what he could say. As far as the facts went, she got herself injured, he converted an entire room into pretty much a hospital to keep her alive, set someone else on the search for a healer, and then rejected the first healer they found only to later agree to the healer. So she wasn't entirely in the wrong, he had obstructed her healing, but only for an hour.

Andrea nodded, but didn’t say anything back. Instead silent tears spilled over as the reality of all that had happened seemed to be finally sinking in. She really had been dying. She really hadn’t believed she would wake up again. Despite her sass and sarcastic remarks to the Waxman, all of the fear and pain she had felt while in his grasp. That she had given up in the end and had ultimately prepared to be killed by the Waxman. She had meant to prove herself worthy of the Horsemen, but instead had royally screwed it up and couldn’t bring herself to look at either man. Bad enough that she had nearly gotten herself killed, but now she was sitting here crying like a child. She might have asked them to leave her alone for a bit, but she was too scared to open her mouth for fear of what may come out. April 8, 2012 ※ 12:18※Not In Costume

When Owen saw the tears he understood that he had been to distant but there was nothing to do now. Nothing he would openly admit. He had been trained for the reality of this job years before he started. She had been told what her father believed about it or at least that was how Owen understood her training. Maybe he should have listened when she spoke about the Waxman, maybe he should have shut her down entirely to stop her from going out on her own. There were a lot of things he should have done that he didn't. He looked at Sam and Sam looked at him. The two understood the same message and Sam disappeared. He had gone to his room. There were plenty of them. He had an easier job of moving his stuff because he could just teleport it into the room. He'd been living in the house a few hours before they found Andrea and every day since though he maintained his old apartment if he ever needed some time on his own. Once Sam was back in his room, likely watching TV, Owen stepped backwards through the doorway. "Get some rest. Take the time you need to think things over." Owen didn't remember the first time he really felt the fear of death, but he remembered the awful feeling. Maybe one day he would remember and he could use that to help her, but not today. Without another word he left and returned to the living room where he had left the healer to sleep.

A sob would rip through Andrea within seconds of Owen leaving the room, and she could only hope he'd been far enough away for him to not have heard. It would have probably been better if either Owen or Sam had attempted to comfort her instead of leaving her alone, but unfortunately none of the three had grown up in an environment where such a thing would occur to them. Instead, she would cry until she would eventually fall into a fit fill sleep out of exhaustion. April 8, 2012 ※ 12:19※Not In Costume

╔════════════╗ Katrina Knight ╚════════════╝Minerva✬The Doctor Katrina would finally wake in the early hours of the morning, the golden light of dawn streaming through the windows and birds singing their morning songs outside. She had a splitting headache, her reward for helping strangers. Probono at that. At the time she had simply been shocked at how bad of shape the girl was in and wasn't going to sit there and haggle over price while she continued to suffer. The cynical part of her regretted the choice, but deep down she knew she made the right now. She wanted to keep laying there while pretending the world didn't exist, but past experience told her the migraine was going to persist. Better to get a glass of water and some good drugs now and climb back under her blankets. It would likely be a couple of days before she was up to healing anyone. So it was with regret that Katrina cracked ope her eyes and her stomach dropped. This wasn't her home. She quickly sat up and instantly regretted it as a wave of nausea hit her from the sudden motion, but did her best to ignore it as she looked around the strange room. Her eyes quickly fell on the only other person in the room, a man she recognized from his brief appearance in the dying girls room. “Why am I still here?” Her voice came out a little weaker than she would have liked. Best case scenario, these strangers just wanted to make sure she would be okay after passing out. Worst case they wanted something else from her. She didn't wake up back in a cell when they had a clear opportunity to do so, so she was at least willing to be a little more trusting than she had been initially. ✬April 8 2012✬5:52AM✬In Costume✬

"You passed out." Owen responded simply. By this point Sam was sleeping and Owen assumed that Andrea was doing the same so he spoke quietly. He was wearing exactly what he had been wearing when she passed out but not he held an envelope in his hand. While she had been asleep he had found what information he could. Yet that was not what the enveloped contained. He stood and slowly walked towards her, then set the envelope on the counter and slid it towards her before returning to his chair. "And you had not been paid." From his chair he waited for her to go through the money and make sure it was enough for her. He had left her costume on, except for her mask, which he had pulled down to be certain, but he had put it back up hours ago. The photos they had were a lot but seeing was what pushed him over. "Thank you for your service." He wouldn't stop her from leaving, not his job. Yet in his research he had found frustratingly less than he would normally find. It was a start but nothing stretched very far back it was almost like she just appeared one day. He didn't like that. Facial recognition was screwed because her face matched Alice's and so it pulled up results on what Alice had done and who she was. So after a long night of internal debate, Owen decided what he would do. He slipped a note under Andrea's room telling her where he would be and why. He was going to follow the healer. Find out where she was from, who she was, and why she looked like Alice. He didn't know how long it took but he felt that the distance would be good for Andrea. He had hurt her and this was a chance to give her a little space. He would not return to the house until he had answers, but he may return to the Stable. Staying out of the house created distance and that was what he wanted to give Andrea.

╔════════════╗ Katrina Knight ╚════════════╝Minerva✬The Doctor There was a small amount of relief when he more or less confirmed the better of two scenarios she had in her mind for why they had kept her and a large amount of surprise when he brought up paying her. Katrina approached the envelope with some trepidation, picking it up and glancing inside, not so much to see how much was there, but more to confirm he had actually given her money she hadn’t asked for. She couldn’t hide her surprise then when she saw the hundred dollar bills inside. “I wasn’t expecting to be paid for this one.” She admitted in the same quiet tone Owen had used, somewhat assuming the girl was somewhere sleeping. She’d be mildly curious to observe over the next few days. Having never dealt with someone in that bad of shape, she could only guess at what effects such extreme healing might have. “I don’t suppose your…ah…friend isn’t around to give me a lift back home is he? He quiet literally kidnapped me.” In other words she had no idea if she was even in the same city or not. Between the migraine, her powers being down and wearing her costume, trying to figure out where she was and navigating her way back home wasn’t something she was exactly in the mood to deal with. ✬April 8 2012✬5:53AM✬In Costume✬

"He's asleep." Owen responded bluntly. He knew that he would have to drive Katrina back to her home and he had spent a bit of time mentally preparing for it. "I can drive you or point you in the right direction." As he spoke, Owen stood up and moved over to grab his keys from the kitchen where he had left them the last time he drove. He had already moved his costume into the trunk so he would begin surveillance relatively soon after dropping her off. Once he had his keys he returned to the living room to wait for the healer's response.

╔════════════╗ Katrina Knight ╚════════════╝Minerva✬The Doctor She was tempted to suggest simply waking him up. She had already spent far more time with these people than she had any client before, and had definitely never gone on a car ride with one before. She wasn’t sure how she felt about that. At least she had conformation she was still in Chicago. “A ride would be appreciated.” Katrina finally relented after a few moments of thought while he went to get his keys. She had already decided these people didn’t mean her harm, since they had plenty of opportunity to do so while she was asleep. The ride would be awkward and uncomfortable, but no more so than calling a taxi, taking public transit, or walking while wearing her costume. At least this option had less exposure to those who were hunting her. ✬April 8 2012✬5:54AM✬In Costume✬

"Come with me then." Owen instructed as he moved to the garage where the car was. He would open the door for her and then walk over to the driver side where he got in and waited for her to do the same. He would likely probe with a few questions to see if there was any information about her that he could latch onto and investigate further but he would not push hard. He only needed a little and if she didn't talk he would just maintain surveillance. Owen would never have thought that he was stumbling upon what he was. How could he?

╔════════════╗ Katrina Knight ╚════════════╝Minerva✬The Doctor Katrina followed the male into the garage without speaking another word, though she did pause once inside to admire the sleek black Lexus inside. If she were to own a car, she’d be tempted to buy something similar, while knowing a junker was the only thing that wouldn’t stand out in her part of town. As it was, even with a fake identity, a car would just be one more thing that could lead back to her and normally she didn’t need one. Even in the current situation it wouldn’t have really helped, since she had been teleported away and said car would be back. At least Owen opening the door for her saved her the trouble of trying to decide if she was supposed to get into the back seat or the front. Kat slid into the passenger of the car feeling all kinds of awkward and uncomfortable, and not just because of Owen. To her memory she had never been inside a vehicle before, yet as she looked over the steering wheel and gearshift she knew she’d be able to drive, and drive well. It was a strange sort of experience, having never done something yet knowing she could do it with a level of expertise no common person could match. What sort of person had she been before her memory loss? ✬April 8 2012✬5:57AM✬In Costume✬

Once Katrina was in, Owen pulled out of the garage and onto the street. The garage door shut behind them and then Owen began driving towards Katrina's house. If she said nothing, the first few minutes of the drive would be awkwardly quiet but eventually Owen would ask "Why do you do it? Heal people?" It was an easy opening question. One that he figured he could use to segue into other questions about who she was and what she did. The ride to her house would take them a bit so they couldn't sit in silence the entire time. Or could they? Wouldn't be the first time Owen and a girl with that face had sat silently in a car for a long drive.

╔════════════╗ Katrina Knight ╚════════════╝Minerva✬The Doctor Katrina glanced at Owen out of the corner of her eye. For a moment it seemed like she wouldn’t answer, but eventually she held up the envelope full of money for an answer. It was at least partly true anyway, since she had bills that needed to be paid. She’d be lying to herself to say she didn’t enjoy it on some level and wished she could help more deserving people. The secrecy and no questions thing only attracted certain kinds of individuals. Unfortunately until she found out who owned the lab and what they wanted with her that option was off the table. ✬April 8 2012✬6:06AM✬In Costume✬

"Real doctors are paid more than that." Owen commented when her answer signaled only money as her motivation. It was also his way of pointing out that her answer had not been enough and presenting another question. Why was she helping people who were keeping it off the books? That was what interested him more. Still, he did not press the issue. He just drove. Clearly she was not feeling very social. A minor setback.
