Dex looked at Shade with surprise and shook his head. "No, no, it'll be fine. I'd rather.. rather we all stay together." His eyes shifted away slightly, feeling a little silly. Shade knew how to take care of herself. "Besides, this is important to you."
He looked at the children, lips pressing the slightest bit. After a moment, he sighed in resignation and shook his head. "As your mother says. Stay together, and only in well-lit spaces."

Koril kept up the cute pout until they got the approval from both parents. With a squeak of delight, he spun and hugged Kyril's arm securely. "I hope we find something good!" he chirped, eager to explore further. ..while watching the floor, of course.
