The more the goat talked about these "truffles" the more unsure Nash actually became as to their status as a food item. His diet usually tended more toward meat, for one thing. Eating mushrooms... didn't seem very safe? For another. And then... there was the look of them.
"Those don't look like food to me," he muttered nervously, ears flattening against his head. "They really do look like charcoal." Edging closer to his mate's side, he nudged Kinak with a wingtip. "You first."

Kinak looked down at the truffles with an obvious look of extreme distrust on his face. He pawed at one careful not to crush it into pulp with his large hooves. It looked weird. It smelled weird. And he defiantly preferred the sweeter berries to it he could tell. He looked at everone else devouring them like...well...giants and sighed. It would be rude not to at least try it. So he did.
The taste was revolting and super earthy almost causing Kinak to gag. It hung heavy on his tongue and clung to his throat even after he swallowed. He didn't enjoy mushrooms on a good day and this was super mushroom trying to murder the poor confused giant. He whined low in his throat staring at the remaining half.
"Waste nothing," he reminded himself under his breath. Closing his eyes he quickly gulped the other half down without chewing the dark beast of a fungus. Tove looked up from her second truffle at her brother struggling with his first. She snorted softly in laughter. Finishing her second one, she approached him.
"You don't have to eat another one, brother. That leaves more for us," she jokingly stated. Kinak nodded his thanks with tears pricking the corner of his eyes. She glanced at Nash, daring him to refuse his gift that Ace so lovingly gave him. What would this skinwalker do?

Ace watched the stallions closely, glancing occasionally to Tove and Savannah who were happily eating away at the truffles that had been laid out for them. The first stallion, the giant called Kinak, openly disliked her truffles. She snorted with amusement, well, at least she got that small revenge from his earlier treatment of her.
"Come now, just because your giant does fancy them doesn't mean you'll feel the same." She said to the winged-horse-cat imploringly. "And I will take immense offense if you don't try one." She added.Savannah watched the expressions of the two stallions. The skinwalker seemed terribly uncertain and Savannah sounded more than a little smug when she said. "C'mon, be a stud." She nudged one of the truffles towards the feline with raised eyebrows. "Or could you be scared of one tiny mushroom?" If this was all it took to best this skinwalker... maybe everyone was right. Maybe he was no threat. Additionally, now it appeared that she knew Nash's weakness: strange food. Maybe she ought to track down more peculiar looking fungi the next time he came around, as a extra cautionary method.
As Nash put the responsibility of eating the first truffle onto his mate, Savannah's eyes turned to focus on Tove's brother. His distaste for the truffle was apparent before he even took a bite and Savannah noticed how satisfied Ace looked as she watched him eat it.
"They're not for everyone." She amended. "Like Tove said, it can be an acquired taste for some, though I liked it when Ace first introduced them to me." She turned her eyes onto Nash. Gesturing with a front hoof towards the truffle she said, a bit wickedly, "Your turn, Nash." Not realizing it was the first time that day that she had actually spoken his name and not shrieked "monster" at the walker.

Kinak's reaction to the weird mushroom did not boost Nash's confidence about it, despite the others gobbling them down. He backed away just slightly, almost like he was planning to run from the fungi then made himself stop. It was just. A mushroom. It wouldn't kill him, right?
Savannah teasing him about it didn't really make it better either. He sent her an annoyed glare, then glanced from her, to Ace, to the mushroom. It seemed like a bad idea to offend the goat...
Leaning down, he cautiously licked one. And made a face. Okay, ew. Had to say he agreed with Kinak on this one. On the whole, he tended to prefer meat anyway... if you had to eat plants, could they at least taste not like... dirt?? Glancing up, he realized the others were still staring at him and obviously expecting him to actually eat this thing. "Taste" apparently didn't mean just licking it.
Wrinkling his nose up, he quickly grabbed up the mushroom and swallowed it, trying not to taste it too much. Which meant an almost whole mushroom was trying to go down his throat. Coughing and choking on the too-large food item, he stumbled away to lean on Kinak with a low hiss. "You guys can... have those..." he finally gasped out, eyes watering a bit.

Kinak ate a second truffle just to spite his sister. It went down like sand, the abrasive smell and taste beating him long after the mushroom vanished down his throat. He felt Nash's warm pelt press against him and smiled weakly. Eating those truffles took a lot out of the giant. But the look on Tove's face when he ate a second one was priceless. He stuck his tongue out at her. Tove was taken aback for a moment. Did he just serious do that? With a small laugh and a toss of her tined head, she took another truffle into her mouth. Tove made the face right back at her brother making sure her tongue was covered in mushroom. A booming laugh escaped the giant causing her to laugh with him. She was really happy everyone was getting along now. She went back to Savannah and tucked her delicate legs under her to rest beside her lovemate.

Savannah had to hand it to Kinak, he had a lot of spirit, something she herself admired. She gave a nicker of amusement and watched as he ate a second truffle, only to have Ace stomp her hoof on the ground with irritation."Okay, okay, we get it! You hate anything with any taste! I would have happily eaten that truffle, I'll have you know! You don't have to force yourself to eat something to prove a point." The goat said. "And you," She added to Nash, but her ears perked forward and she smiled at the cat. "Well, you tried something new. Thank you for not being a brute about the taste." She nudged the furry horse a little and grinned.
"Now, since I am a hospitable goat-and I'll bite anyone who says otherwise," She added with a look at Kinak. "Let us go on a hunt for something we all can enjoy, whether it be water or berries or what have you." She glanced at Tove, who had just settled in next to Savannah. "Or... the boys and I can go look, while you ladies stay here. Sound alright? We'll be back in a giffy." She confirmed with an abrupt nod."Sure, that's fine." Savannah said, her own legs bending to lower herself next to Tove and lay her head over her mate's neck. What a pleasant day this was turning out to be, after the monster scare they had earlier. Then again, anything was pleasant with Tove at her side. "Have fun... Be safe..." Savannah mumbled, the sunlight making her dozy. What a pleasant day indeed.Whoan Do you guys want to wrap it up with your next posts? Manda I think we've come to a good stopping point for the RP. 3nodding

Kinak rumbled happily in a giantish fashion. He shook himself slightly to get his blood pumping, his trees wobbling with the motion. He smirked down at the goat as he trotted up to her.
"You had me at berries," he chortled, "Come Nishka. Maybe you will find a mole or something. You're good at that." He nodded to Tove as he passed also happy they were getting along for the most part. Ace brought a competitive side out of the giant he hadn't felt in a long time. "You don't have to go Nash," Tove offered quietly, "The spirits know that I'm exhausted being around that boulder for this amount of time. How do you do it?" She made a face at her brother who promptly returned the gesture. With a sigh, her wings tucked closer to her as she almost began to doze off in the warmth of the day. Beside her lifemate she was home and safe. That was enough. Manda I'm done. You get to wrap it up.

Nash shrugged slightly and offered Tove and Savannah a fond look. "I dunno," he replied to the winter spirit's question. "Maybe something to do with love..." The catwalker winked at the mares and turned to chase off after his own mate. "Moles are... honestly kind of gross. Covered in dirt. But I'm sure I can find something." Shifting forms quickly, he leapt up only Kinak's back to steal a ride, tail-tip swishing back and forth in contentment.
