"I knew that someone would eventually..." Or she could have escaped on her own during feeding time, or cage cleanings. She hadn't worked out a back-up plan entirely yet, but...

She batted her paw against the glass again, curious about the smaller mauvian. She hadn't seen many of the younger ones, and this one seemed so uncertain.

It had taken a little bit longer to track down an attendant than she had liked, hovering near the register area for a bit before stepping up to the counter once the last person had finished checking out. She explained her interest in adopting one of the cats, waiting for them to page someone over to where she'd left her cousin.

She rolled her eyes at the young man chastising her, but kept her thoughts to herself otherwise for the moment. She hadn't exactly been speaking loudly and she had the rotation schedule of the humans who worked here down pretty well. No one had overheard her and she'd taken that risk knowing it would be fine.

"That one-- Maggie, you've been calling her. I'd like to take her home, please." She pointed at the window as she approached with the employee who nodded and then went to get the adoption paperwork.

"I can't just leave her here." She huffed, elbowing her cousin lightly. Just because she was rescuing the Mauvian didn't mean that she had to keep her-- If the cat didn't want to be kept anywhere she couldn't exactly hold her against her will.

"They do allow pets at my apartment, yes. I've pondered actually getting a cat," a normal cat, "once or twice, but that never actually panned out with... Everything." Her shoulders shrugged. "If you'd like to go check out I'll get everything settled here and meet you outside?"

It took a little bit of extra time for her to finish filling out the paperwork before they released the cat to her, carefully packed into a cardboard cat carrier. She tucked the folder with all of 'Maggie's' adoption papers beneath her arm before lifting the carrier in one hand, the bag containing a 'feline care starter kit' in the other. Cordelia stepped outside to join her cousin, making sure she was far enough away from the automatic doors and anyone who might potentially come through them before setting the box down and opening it up.

"I don't suppose your name is actually 'Maggie', is it." A soft smirk touched her lips as she peered into the carrier.

"No, but it didn't harm anything for them to call me that." Her voice sounded sleepy with an added trace of soft, velvety sweetness. "You may call me Eta."

"I intended to rescue her, which I did. I'm not going to keep her if she isn't interested in coming willingly. That would be no different than putting you in my car against your will and taking you somewhere you didn't want to be." Something about the feline's name tickled a thought in the back of her head, however and she paused, brow furrowing slightly. "What did you say your name was again?"

"Eta." She spoke slowly, glancing up from where she had lifted herself up to touch her nose to the kitten's before batting at him playfully with her paw. "I appreciate your concern about my wishes, but I assure you, I don't mind going wherever you're going... As long as there's sun. Dreadful part about being inside is the lack of sunshine to lounge in."

"Stars and stones, Luc, I'm not telling her that she's on her own. I'm leaving it up to her as a sentient creature." Someone in the parking lot had just gotten out of their car, heading towards where they were standing about in order to get to the pet store.

Despite having a 'discussion' with her cousin she had heard the cat's commentary about not minding going where they were going. Cordelia stooped down to close the carrier once more, lifting the box back up to carry it over to her car. "We can discuss this more back at your place, Luc. Do you need a ride? We can grab lunch to take back too."

"Since when have you ever known me to not be grumpy, Luc?" Her brow quirked as she cast a glance over her shoulder to her cousin before unlocking her car. Once the carrier was settled in the back seat she opened it again so that the Mauvian could get out and wander around on her own, if she chose to do so.

"Quesadilla and some of the chips and cheese? Sounds good to me... Would either of you two like anything from the restaurant?" She looked to the two cats once she'd settled into the driver's seat, ignoring whatever odd look she might be getting from Luc for asking.

"Fish tacos... Or shrimp fajitas. No onions, please..." She might nibble at the peppers, just for something to crunch on, but mostly it would be picking at the fish or shrimp, if that wasn't too much to ask.
