There was a small mutter of acknowledgement and nothing more. As Andy's sat down the silence in the house was near complete other than for the soft shuffling of feet in one of the upstairs rooms, Hal's muffled voice and the sound of sirens in the distance. The smell of cigarettes and sour milk were less in the living room but still very present . After a few minutes a cell rang nearby with the ringtone of "hit me baby one more time".

A soft curse came from upstairs as footsteps headed toward the stairs. "None of you kids better be touching my phone!" An adult male voice shouted a warning as he stomped down the stairs and glared over the banister. Spotting none of the kids he blinked and walked down a little more as if the call itself didn't matter to him so much as making sure no one was trying to answer it.

Sighing he walked the rest of the way to the to the living room and picked it up, flicking it off with a bored look before attempting to pocket it. Only then did he see the black hair meta with pale skin. "Oh sh**! Uh Hi " he blinked and stared, looking her up and down without question. "Sorry... didn't see you there. New..recruit?" Throwing something out as he tried to regain his bearings, she was cute....very cute.... maybe in something a little mo- right familiar..there was something familiar about her.

"Hah! Hal finally got someone to take interest?" he grinned pocketing the phone and moving closer. "My own darn fault for being distracted, but seems I found something a little more interesting" grinning at her even as he noted the fix gaze, blindness in a meta didn't always mean helplessness and the Renegades wouldn't send someone like that to help them.

"We need all the help we can get, not that any of the other groups near by care. Busy here and there and everywhere, even with Zaku still missing. " he frowned. "My manners. I'm Carn...pixie and still life hybrid meta at your service, at any time day or night" he laughed.

"Andy? That Andy....wow Hal hit big time. " There was a slight chuckle but he was now viewing her with a calculating look. He heard things about Zaku's second in command and it had to be her, the name and species then just a temp job, even wanting to help other metas, her motto. What ever happened to her didn't seem to have changed her outlook, nowpr did she have the haunted look of those picked up by Haven.

"That would be great" moving to sit by her, close but not to close. "There is something wrong when its the kiddies having to bring home the grub while the adult huddle in hiding" he frowned. "I would like to walk out the door without having to worry, I have things to do..people to meet that Hal doesn't approve...or at least know what I'm fighting." He sighed " Flores is the only one who can wander around but then again it's her ability that keeps her safe, not that she had much luck finding everyone else. " there was a sound of distaste in his voice as if he didn't approval of Flores at all.

"Already spilling your guts to the first pretty lady you see. You're unbelievable" Hal sighed coming from the hallway and gave Carn a dark look before turning his attention to Andy. "Flores will meet you at the park. Cam will lead the way here and Carn can help as well since he seem to be so itching for a fight and help you if you meet up with the police" he sad blandly. "Any chance you might have reconsidered?" He addressed Andy.

"What?! Totally not what I meant. Uh.. " Carn looked between them and sighed. "Or completely what I meant. Fine"

Carn took her hand with a grin. "Never, but I have a feeling one with you will definetly be exciting"

Hal gave her a disapproving look before remembering she couldn't see it. "Then at least give me the number of someone to call if you mess up and disappear like the rest" the disapproval in his voice a sense he cross his arms.

There was a jingling of the door and a few moments later Cam entered with an obvious lack of other children behind him. "I'm back! Hal! ...Andy!" He grinned then looked worried. "You're going to go? What happens if you're taken too?" He sounded worried, having been updated through the phone which I saw why he was alone.

"She's going to go. You're going to lead her and Carn there and come straight home. How is everything outside?" he said with disapproval.

Cam shifted slightly on his feet "Uh...um. They are a few blocks away evacuating people. The fire is spreading" he muttered.

Hal sighed and looked at Andy "well since you started this what do you want to do? Move and wait for another time when things are more quiet or move and investigate now that everyone is distracted, maybe even the people who took them in the first place" the disapproval was very obvious. "Cam, don't forget they are after you too so come right back home"

Carn looked between them and mouth WTF?

Cam shifted from foot to foot and nodded . "Andy saved us from some humans who were shouting at us, then her attack set some things on fire" he said quietly.

"So what do you want to do" Hal muttered.

Hal tasked and moved away from then, giving Cam a tight glare. "Remember" he warned then looked over at Carn "you keep an eye out, Cam you just focus on getting them there then Carn can help her " lining out the plan even if it was obvious, before turning around abruptly and heading back to his office.

Carn stared after him. "Okay then......." he sighed and reached out to lightly touch the outside of Andy's arm. "Ready Mrs Andy?" A faint smile on his lips as if the town wasn't burning and they weren't going to a place where most of the people he knew had disappeared from.

Cam made a face at him. "Hal said I will help her!" He said moving to put his arm between Andy and Carn who just laughed. "Finally hit puberty didn't you kid. " he was smiling but his eyes had narrowed slightly in warning at the definetly look on Cam's face. "So he did. We better start moveing though" sounding assured as if they wouldn't find anything.

Cam gave Carn a victory grin as he took her hand and lead her out, grinning even more when the other meta gave him a sour look. He was on a mission! With the second in command of the Renegades. This was great! Even if it was only up to the park he was still grinning as he lead the way, looking around like he was taught to but soon forgetting once they traveled a few blocks. Carn followed alongside Andy garnering glares from Cam as he grinned. Looking around he kept the look out.

There were less cars in this area, no one wanting to go on a nice walk around the park with part of the city burning. "Maybe there should be a bit more chaos now and then. Make the humans worry" there was a sound of satisfaction in his voice as they started approaching the park area itself. "What do you think? Make them want to get on our good side a little faster?"
