Shiro traversed the roads leading up towards the main cities entrance surrounded by a group of merchants and gypsies that he'd spotted heading towards the gates. He had took the opportunities to casually slip in between them and continue walking at a steady pace behind them, just quick enough to possibly be mistaken as part of the group, but not trailing them so closely as to raise suspicion with them. Up ahead he spotted the gate and noticed right away that it was heavily guarded, as one would expect. He kept an eye to the destination, watching as folks stepped forward to exchange greetings with the guards, he noticed that most were allowed entry and there didn't seem to be any showing of identification that he could tell which meant that there was more than one way to get through the gate besides being a resident. His village had provided him with a bit of currency that could be used in the city, he figured the easiest way to gain entrance was to use it.

As Shiro and the group approached one of the guards the group all fell in single file line naturally, apparently he was the only one who didn't know the drill. Scurring to find his place, Shiro lined up with the rest of them. One by one each merchant stepped before the guard and was allowed in, advancing the line forward, sending Shiro into a periodic shuffle towards the front.

As he got closer to his turn he fought to keep his breathing regular and his posture unimposing. He was nothing more than a lost boy looking for a place to escape the dangers of the night. If asked, he was prepared to weave a story about how he and his family had been ambushed while heading to the city looking for work. With his family gone, all he had left to go on was their intended destination. Where else would he have gone?

Before he could make it to the front however he catches the faint sound of someone yelling "...ssshed me?!" "Tarrant..."

Before long a ladies scream rang out, momentarily pulling the guards attention towards what seemed like a fight brewing. At first he had planned to use some of the currency to bribe his way into the village, but spotting this chance to sneak in without even having to announce himself was too good to pass up.

Shiro steps aside to the left, leaning forward into a sprint to a near by wall that stood adjacent to the main gate. He waited there for a brief moment, waiting for the golden window to present itself by which he could slide back in behind a group that was about to head in together. If he timed it right, he hoped to pop back into the group just as they were allowed in, keep his head tucked, and hopefully go unnoticed among them. His eyes widened as his window appeared, seizing the moment Shiro concentrated a small amount of chakra into his lefts all the way down to his feet and used the extra force to thrust himself off the wall towards the ground, while also allowing him to reduce the impact of his feet hitting the ground which would hopefully aid him in sneaking his way in undetected.

Juugou was perplexed by the disappointed look the guard had, but didn't protest when he was escorted to the nearby guard house. The guard stated that it would take a while, since he had to be questioned due to looking suspicious. How does wearing desert clothes counts as suspicious? he wondered I guess the blue head wrap was too much? The first guard walked away after taking him to the guard house and a few seconds later a second guard appeared.

This one was fat, and wore a black robe instead of armor. When he got settled the guard stated that he would be asking Juugou questions about his trip to Aren. He seemed to be of mind to get this done quickly so he could return to whatever it was he was doing prior. The rotund guard paused to answer the Aburame's inquiry about the commander. His name was Aka'Sosan and according to the guard, was the most honorable man in the city. The man spoke of Aka'Sosan almost reverently. If Juugou's memory was correct the army in question was the Holy Army, Before he had a chance to ask anymore, the robed guard quickly changed the topic and commenced the questioning session.

By the time Juugou left the guard house it was already night. He sighed and began walking deeper into the city. He needed to find lodging for the night as well as something to eat. Spotting a young woman nearby he approached her slowly. "Excuse me, ma'am. Is there anywhere i can find lodging nearby?"

The woman looked at Juugo, noticing his foreign attire she immediately screamed and ran away in hysterics. More guards were approaching from the direction she had ran to. She pointed Juugo out to them and they immediately hastened their pace. The area was quickly becoming dangerous for foreigners.

Meanwhile a set of guards blocked entrance to the city through the gates. While attention hadn't been brought to Shiro, nor would he be able to sneak pass them. Unfortunately this will leave Shiro on the wrong side of the gates.

As the night started to set, Sora looked over a small dune towards a large city full of lights which contrasted the dark sky's above. He'd made sure to leave later on then Arina, as the small the group to enter the city the less suspicion they would throw on themselves is what he thought anyway. This was both of their first really big mission, and only three months out of the academy made this much more daunting to him. He'd long since put those thoughts behind him though as he needed to make sure that he didn't slip up as best as possible. The young male looked over to his left, and starred at his companion. He smiled underneath the green scarf which was wrapped around his lower face and scratched the white and brown dog behind the ears. "Come on boy, let's get out of this dessert." He stated, the dog giving a bark of approval before the pup hopped up and crawled into the young man's shirt, panting as they approached the city.

Over the dune and onto the stone bridge towards the gate of the city Sora went, looking around as he approached the gates admiring the stonework that was on display. Once he reached the gates, there two guards who had stern faces and it looked like they'd been doing this job for quiet some time. Before they got in earshot of the guards however, Xià Xuě started to whimper which signaled to Sora that something was up. He knew that his companion could smell it, so he patted the dogs head and continued to the guards. As he came close, Sora removed the scarf that protected his mouth and nose before speaking. "Good evening, how goes it tonight?" He started off with a calm voice. "I'm coming from a small country between earth and fire country looking to learn a bit about smithing... I hope you two could help point me in the right direction." He asked as he stopped so it didn't look like he was just going to walk in. Hopefully these two were friendly enough to at least talk with him before he entered the city, though with his companions whimper earlier Sora wasn't sure if things would be so easy.

As she entered the main entrance of Aren again Nisha noticed that some of the people from the inn had made they way with her and seemed to moving off to do their own business, but one of the more drunk members had gotten into some issues with the guards, not really her issue she moved on without really taking note, but the commotion did get her to notice that there were different soldiers within the city aside from the ones that clearly were part of the guards for Aren, making a note in her mind as she check the sign for the direction of the market place. 'I should ask about the other soldiers, also I should have asked for the lady at the inn's name, that was rude of me'.

Looking a little sad now, Nisha looked at the sign and then headed off in the direction that pointed to the Market place and also the Citadel, she wouldn't be able to enter it with how late it was now, but she wold be able to see it all lite up for the evening.

The last thing Juugou expected was for the woman to scream hysterically and run away from him as if she had seen a ghost. The Aburame saw her run into a platoon of guards and point him out, and the guards began to move in his direction at a faster pace. You have to be kidding me! Deciding against trying to reason with the guards, Juugou decided to make himself scarce and move away from the area. He ducked into a dark alley and began to run as soon as he had broken line of sight with the guards, all the while removing his head wrap and shades and putting them hastily in his bag, With these alterations to his appearance, Juugou continued to jog away from the gates and away from the sound of the approaching guards

"s**t, that was my chance" Shiro muttered to himself while contemplating rather or not he was pleased or pissed that someone had decided to cause a ruckus right when he was making his entrance to the city. He'd just arrived and already his first real mission was throwing challenges his way. Oh well, back to plan A, attempt to bribe a guard and get into the city. The problem would be getting a guards attention away from the rest with all the commotion going on, hell considering how alerted the guards seemed to be, he wasn't even sure attempting to bribe his way in wouldn't end up with him being arrested for suspicion. For the moment however, Shiro so no other logical way of getting into the city. Sneaking in wasn't going to be an option, and without some sort of leverage he didn't see a guard letting him in just off his word alone. Regardless, his mission required he gain entrance to the city. but ultimately he was only here to assist a foreign nation. He would do everything in his power to complete the mission, but he certainly wasn't about to get himself locked away or killed over it. Taking a deep breath Shiro calmed his nerves and waited in line yet again for a chance to speak with the guard. If he manages to get the guards attention, he will offer up some coin in exchange for an entrance.

Hours would pass before the situation on the other side of the gate was finally contained and the level of tension relaxed but only slightly. Before you get to speak with a guard about entry you hear the announcement that the city is on lock down. No foreigners will be granted entrance, please keep all proper forms of identification and citizenship readily available.

The thought of trying to disguise yourself passes through your mind. Similarly you may notice that there is a ventilation duck steaming fifty feet above the tall gates. Looking around you see that a cliff extends to the left side of the mountain, it is incredibly narrow but if careful one could hug the mountain and move along it... the mountain curves before you can see where it leads.

The guards just stood there, stating that all foreigners were not allowed into the city and all inhabitants of the city must have all documentations in order to enter. Xai Xue was right when he sniffed out an issue within the city, it's just too bad he couldn't have known more. It was still early in their training so it would be something that they'd have to work on.

Sora looked around as he sighed and backed up, trying to get an idea on what his options for getting inside were. His first option was the easiest to work on, though trying to sneak in by disguising himself would be hard as he's already announced himself and his companion was already noticed as well from what he would assume. That and the fact that he didn't have any documentation figured out at this moment made things even harder. His second option was to scale fifty feet above the gate and sneak in through a vent. Who knew where it would lead, but it for sure lead into the city somewhere and a fifty foot fall was better then his third option. He could shimmy around the city wall on a thin ledge, however he couldn't see where it went and if he slipped it was game over.

After mauling it around in his head for a bit, Sora decided that he'd attempt to make it to the vents and see what happens from that point forward. The question now was how was he going to get the guards distracted enough to not pay attention to him scaling the wall to the vents. With it being so late, Sora knew that the dark would be on his side so he'd have to work fast. Sora made it look as if he was leaving the gates, defeated by the announcement of no foreigners allowed into the city, but what he actually was doing was walking to the pillars by the bridge off this mountain before darting behind the one to the right. It was a long distance and the nights shadows would cover his tracks for the most part. Once he was sure that the two guards would be preoccupied any way else, Sora swiftly and as quietly as he could ran around the edge of the gates platform in the mountain while using the flags that lined the edge to break up any image of him that might have been there. Once at the edge of the platform and at one of the walls, Sora rushed until he was halfway to a vent before using the wall climbing ability he'd been working on. He only could go up twenty feet before it fumbled, as he wasn't good at it yet, so he only climbed 15 feet up before going to a manual climb, going slow and steady towards the vent while hoping he would be unseen. He had a plan incase however he didn't want to have to use it.

You make it to the vent without being detected and slip in. The ventilation system is sweltering hot and as you crawl through you notice that it begins to splinter off into multiple directions.

Yakatori Yomi

The trip had been a long but exciting one. It hadn’t been too long after Yakatori received the message from the raven that he had departed on his trip. His father had been kind enough to introduce to a few of his hunting companions who were traveling in the direction of The Holy City. They traveled by horse and cart stopping only to eat, make camp, and hunt a little on the way to keep their stock up for their future business ventures. Yakatori didn’t mind traveling with the hunters, they were a friendly bunch that were filled with good conversation and dry humor. Hunting with the rag tag group reminded him of his life before being in The Village Hidden in the Leaf. The time spent traveling Yakatori had used wisely. He had focused on gathering his chakra into different parts of body, learning to control the ebb and flow of the energy that coursed through him. He found that the more he trained his chakra the more he was able to refine his Yomi abilities. He could sense the life that darted past the moving cart, but most importantly he could feel the motive that the animals held within them. Some were scarred others hungry and some just down right aggressive; but most importantly he started to feel what it was like to truly sense other living creatures.
Despite taking a few days the trip felt like it had flown by in an instant as he waved good bye to the hunters and trappers outside the Holy City. They had told them that their final destination was still a few days away and wished Yakatori well on his travels.
Nothing in his books could prepare him for what he saw; the beautiful landscape, the strange faces, and the overwhelming size of the city gates that now stood before him. Yakatori eyed his surroundings, sneaking in would be virtually impossible and even if he attempted the feat he didn’t even want to think about the punishment of being caught. “Guess I’ll go through the front” he thought nervously, the last thing he wanted to do was to screw up a mission of this magnitude. Yakatori calmed himself and approached one of the guards waiting at the gates.
Good evening sir” he said calmly and poised “I am looking to make entry to your beautiful city, I have heard from travelers and read from books how beautiful your city is and I wanted to finally see it for myself.” What he said wasn't a lie he spoke truthly for the guard, he just with held some of the truth. “I didn’t pass any tolled roads on my travel here is there a toll to enter the city?” Some cities did this but Yakatori figured if he played dumb and flashed some cash he might have a better chance of getting in.

Shiro sighs in frustration as he begins to fall short on time. The night was drawing on and so far he'd not even yet managed to even gain entrance to the city. From what he could tell no more foreigners were being allowed in the city, regardless of bribe money walking through the front gate was simply not going to be an option. The only way in at this point would be to some how sneak in, but if he were to be discovered hed likely fail his mission right then and there.

Taking a few moments to calm himself, Shiro made one last attempt to think of a plan. Maybe there was another way he could get into the city besides the main gate. After awhile he noticed that there was a very narrow cliff that extended around the side of the gate, perhaps there would be a way to get into the city if he traced the outer perimeter long enough.

Keeping his head low and holding his right hand just over his Shiro activated his Byakugan and proceeded to scan the area to hopefully see where the path led.

Quote:
Byakugan

---Description: When the "Byakugan" is activated, the clan member gains an extra-sensory perception, which gives them penetrating sight and telescopic vision. This allows them to see the tenketsu; the internal chakra coils system 361 pressure points. This vision also grants the member a near 360° view of their surroundings, the higher the skill of the clan member, the further the distance from which they can sense incoming attacks. Unfortunately the vision does have a weakness, a small blind spot that extends outwards from the vertebra of the upper back.

A guard regards you with a cold sneer, "Get out of here, foreigner. The city is on lockdown, no one may enter." Forced away from the gates, you may notice that there is a ventilation duck steaming fifty feet above the tall gates. Looking around you see that a cliff extends to the left side of the mountain, it is incredibly narrow but if careful one could hug the mountain and move along it... the mountain curves before you can see where it leads.

You notice the path stops abruptly, crumbling away to nothing from what you can only image to be natural erosion. However, another shelf extends outwards a good fifty feet below. Built upon it is an inn, the sign Skyward's can be made out on it.

Yakatori Yomi

ssAntonio

Yakatori backed away from the guard as soon as soon as he scolded him. “Lockdown eh? I wonder what for? I hope no one from the leaf has gotten in trouble.” He took a few steps back to observe the situation. The guard was distracted in turning other visitors away but to try and sneak past him could mean his imprisonment, or worse.

He eyed a ventilation duct half way the cities great walls. The thought of jamming his body into such a small place made him shiver. Even though he was desperate to get into the city the ventilation shaft seemed like a bad idea, he wouldn’t know where he appear in the city and there was only one way in and out, if he was spotted there would be a slim chance of escape.

A cliff on the left side of the mountain caught his eye. The climb seemed trichous but Yakatori had little fear, he was used to making less than safe climbs to gain vantage points for hunting and this way he would be able to get a better view of the city. He began to walk along the wall towards the cliff moving slowly and inconspicuously, when he reached the cliff he looked over his shoulder and as soon as he noticed that the guard no longer was paying attention to him he began to climb. The rocks on the cliff were smooth making it difficult to get a good grip but luckily for Yakatori there were plenty of dents and divots in the cliff face providing adequate handholds. Half way up the cliff he found a ledge that curved around the side of the mountain he couldn’t see where it went but it was better than climbing to the top of the mountain and back down again. He muttered “here goes nothing”, took a deep breath and followed the ledge around the bend.
