Physical Description: Standing at five feet seven inches tall, Lucius isn't a very intimidating young man. A smile is almost always seen on his face, his blue eyes shining with a look of childhood innocence and naivety. While there are no hard lines on his face his skin has been slightly tanned from spending all of his time working out in the sun. Feathery blond hair that is worn in a layered shag cut, he doesn't do much and doesn't worry about styling it either.
Normally dressed in clothing that can, and will, be worked in, Lucius doesn't really own anything that is expensive or that hasn't been mended either.
Personality: Your typical down to earth young man, Lucius does tend to have his head in the clouds, however. You cannot get any more loyal then Lucius is. The boy is quick to trust, almost to a fault, and does his best to make sure his friends are protected and taken care of. While he does know about how people can take advantage of others, he tends to turn a blind eye unless it is right in front of him, hoping to look into the good that he believes everyone has.
While he may be simple and down to earth, Lucius has his head in the clouds. He suffers from the need and want to be a hero, especially now that Thread has returned. Dreams of him upon a dragons back, it doesn't matter the color just the fact that he would be up there helping to save lives. Being so idealistic about his dreams, as well as how much he strives and pushes those around him and his friends to continue to reach their own, keeps this young man looking up to the horizon!
Add in the fact that Lucius is brave, willing to stand up to those who are hurting others, putting his own life at risk for others, he is a true hero in the making. He has flaws just like others, however, one of them being impulsive. Once he gets an idea in his head there is nothing to stop him from acting out on it aside from tying him up or locking him in a room, even then there is no guarantee that he will stop. He will jump into the thick of things without looking, something that annoys his twin like no other.
Always seeing, or hoping, for the good in people also makes Lucius a bit naive. He hasn't been at High Reaches Weyr long, only about two or three turns, so its all a bit new to him. He only ever knew his home and his Aunt and Uncle's farm that he was helping to tend to. That sort of education can be a bit naive, though his Aunt did teach him and his twin to read and write, he wasn't given much else of an education aside from his Uncle teaching him farm craft.
Because he has spent all of his life on a farm or journeying to the minor hold they lived near, Lucius hasn't been exposed to things that many Holders or Weyrbred are use to. He is certainly very wide-eyed about everything that is new about him, but because he isn't use to it, he tends to have a simpler view then many others. He isn't as smart or academic as his twin, nor does he have the world view she has now. There are a lot of things that go over his head, or he just doesn't really understand.
Ever since he was a young boy, Lucius has never been one to want to wait around for anything. He was never in the mindset that he deserved anything he wanted, and that he should get it first and not have to wait, the young man just doesn't like to wait for anything. Especially if it is something he really has his heart set on. He finds it hard to sit and wait, and wait, and wait, it drives him crazy. He does his best as a candidate to wait patiently for his bonded dragon to be born and find him, but he does find it gets harder and harder with each hatching that goes by and he is left alone once more.

History: Born of a Courtesan Diplomat named Lucia and a bronze dragon rider named Marianius, Lucius and his twin sister never had the chance to know their parents. The birth of the twins was too hard on Lucia who died during childbirth and Marianius was so heartbroken at the loss of his love that he took the children and left them his with half-brother and his wife.
Odion and his wife Bayla were a simple farmer and Seamstress. Bayla was barren and unable to have children of her own, so the twins showing up with Marianius as the man told his brother he could not bear to keep them, as a welcoming sight to the woman. Odion was concerned at first, but talked into it by his wife and they agreed to care for the twins as if they were their own. Marianius seemed satisfied at that and left for who knows where.
The twins grew up in the south of Telgar Hold, one of the many farms in that region that helped to supply the minor surrounding holds and the main. Odion and Bayla never made it seem as if they were the twins parents, but they did tell the twins that both of their parents were dead. Odion never revealed what Marianius' profession was, instead telling them that their father had been a merchant ship captain.
The turns passed and the twins grew up. Lucius became more and more adventurous and curious, though he did like to stay a bit closer to home. He explored Telgar Hold and some of the surrounding minor holds any time he could get, when he had the chance to get away from the chores his Uncle laid out for him to do. He always felt stifled during the lessons that were given to him and his sister by their Aunt, finding himself staring outside, just wishing to be out there instead of inside.
When the twins were twelve years old, his sister decided she wanted to travel to the courtesan hall and train in the same discipline as their mother. Lucius was sad to see her go, a little angry that she was allowed to go so easily by his aunt and uncle, but he never said anything to him. Instead he kept his dreams to himself and focused on beginning his own apprenticeship to his uncle.
Things changed when Lucius was fifteen turns old. One of his best friends ended up being searched, it had happened when the two of them had been wandering around Telgar Hold. A blue dragon just came out of no where, Lucius had been shocked, surprised at what he was seeing, he had never seen a dragon before. His uncle talked about how useless it was to be a dragonrider nowadays as Thread had not returned and it probably never would. In an instant Lucius was in awe and slightly jealous as he watched his friend leave.
He returned that night to talk to his uncle and aunt about the dragons and their riders, but he was shut down quite quickly. It never stopped the dreams that were beginning to form in his head.
Years continued on and Lucius did what he could to try and convince his uncle to just allow him to go to High Reaches Weyr to visit his friend. The answer was always no.
Then, on the eve of his eighteenth nameday, he received a visitor. It was an older man, a dragonrider with a beautiful blue dragon. While the man had come to their home he was quickly turned away by Odion. Lucius was angry at his uncle and said many things he never wanted to before he left the house in anger. He wanted to go and look for the man who came but didn't know where to look when the blue found him anyways.
Having a large dragons head suddenly in front of you, sniffing you, can be quite intimidating. Lucius did his best to stay calm as the man came over to him, a smile on his face. He spoke and said he was a friend of his fathers, and then told Lucius the truth about his father that he had never heard before. If Lucius had stayed with his father at the weyr, if he and his twin had never been brought to his aunt and uncle, he would have been weyrborn and given the right to stand. As it was, he now needed to be searched if he ever had the hope or chance to become a dragonrider.
Lucius had begun to deflate at this news but perked up when the man told him that his dragon did see the potential for him. He explained that there were dangers to being a candidate and standing on the sands, there was no guarantee that you would even become one and you might end up aging out. With all of the information given, he urged Lucius to think about the choice and the he would be back in three sevendays for an answer.
Returning home, Lucius apologized to his uncle but never told him about the meeting. He kept all of his thoughts about becoming a candidate or not, to himself. The choice was made for him, however.
The day he was to meet the dragonrider was like all the others, he finished his chores and went to Telgar Hold. He was prepared to tell the man no, his aunt and uncle needed him. They were getting on in years and, they wouldn't be able to take care of the farm without him. The man was said but, he understood his choice, he was going to take Lucius back to the farm when disaster struck. Thread returned.
It was only because he was with the dragonrider that he survived. Lucius could only watch on in fear and horror as people he knew were suddenly gone. He urged the dragonrider to try and get to his aunt and uncle, but it was too late, the farm was completely destroyed. With nothing and no one left to go back to, Lucius agreed to become a candidate.
He has been at High Reaches Weyr for a turn now, has stood in at least three hatchings and nothing has come of it. The young man still hasn't lost his desire and drive to become a dragonrider. Because now there is a need for men to become riders. He does wish to hopefully hear about news on his sister soon, he wrote her as soon as he was at High Reaches but, he has not heard anything since.

Here There Be Dragons

Origin of Name: Tierth is derived from the German word tier, meaning animal, or beast. The old English dēor is of Germanic origins, and where the word deer comes from. As Harry Potter's Patronus takes the form of a stag, it seemed only fitting that Tierth's name hold such associations.
Inspiration: Expecto Patronum
The Patronus Charm is among the most powerful defensive charms. Very few wizards are capable of summoning a corporeal Patronus, as it is highly advanced magic. In order to execute the charm one must hold on tightly to the most happy memory one can think of, a moment of pure joy. An incorporeal Patronus does not have the power to protect against Dementors or Lethifolds, which the corporeal Patronus is the only defense against, but one who does not wish to reveal their identity might intentionally use such a form.
The Patronus, or spirit guardian, takes a different shape depending on the witch or wizard casting it. Harry Potter's patronus was in the form of a stag, while Severus Snape's patronus took on the form of a doe, that of Lily Potter's own Patronus. Hermione Granger, a powerful young witch in her own right, was known to cast a Patronus in the form of an otter. Although Harry Potter taught Dumbledore's Army the Patronus charm, only a few members were capable of manifesting a Patronus successfully.
This charm was known from ancient times, and as such it is uncertain who the creator might have been. However, several old tales tell of its use, elevating the charm to the status of legendary. The Patronus charm may be cast successfully only by the pure of heart. Notably, the Golden Trio had difficulty casting the spell when they were under the influence of Slytherin's locket, for Lord Voldemort's soul was very dark indeed.
Personality: Even during the darkest moments, Tierth would not abandon anyone. He is, and always has been, a brave and noble soul. There is nothing short of true kindness within his hearts, as well as a powerful need to protect and defend those who cannot. He is aware that he might not be fully up to the task of meeting every challenge, but that doesn't mean that he won't do his best! Oh, just let anyone think that he won't - that will make him try all the harder. It's not easy to be a tiny blue, but he has large hearts, big enough to hold everyone on Pern up and keep them safe.
He is loving and tender, but he also possesses a bit of a black and white view of the world. That is to say, when someone does bad things, they are, to Tierth, bad. Black and white is very much the order of the day for this blue. Specifically white. It's not acceptable in his view to tarnish oneself, or to do bad things for a good cause. If something is wrong, it is simply wrong, and he expects that steps will be made to right that wrong. In fact, he demands it!
Frustrated by the sheer lack of accountability among some of his metallic brothers and sisters, Tierth has been watching you, world. And he knows that not everyone has their best interests at heart. Still, just because he puts everyone in a category doesn't mean that they can't change and become better. It just means that he won't expect much of them until that day comes. However, he is alarmingly good at believing that the world must follow his view - for surely there could be no other way. Why would anyone want to do wrong things, after all? What joy could they find in such a thing?
This genuine and dedicated child will grow up to be a fierce knight if he has any say in the matter. Or perhaps he'll fall deeply, madly in love with a fierce knight, and live happily ever after! Either way, he'll be on the side of goodness and light, and he's going to make sure that everyone knows it. No one is allowed to forget how important their choices are, and certainly Tierth will make sure that those he cares for are on the right path. Deviate from it at your own peril! ... Of course, he does love his siblings and cousins, even if they don't always act as they should, but perhaps in time they might change their minds. Maybe. Tierth can hope.

Physical Attributes: Tierth is... quite small. However, he will state that he is just as worthwhile and handsome as any of his brothers! And look, he can be quite noteworthy. His hide gleams softly, almost as if glowing, though that is a trick of the light.
Additional Notes: Tierth adores his parents, especially his Papa. Kronoseth shall forever and always be the hero of his hearts, and he will strive for nothing more than to make his father the proudest of all sires on Pern. He will be slow to fall in love, but once fallen, he will remain so even at the cost of his happiness.

Egg: A small white egg, this egg almost stands on its own, but just touches the rainbow egg. There is a quiet intensity to this egg.
Why Me? Oh Lucius. Such a dear, brave, innocent boy could only have been meant for Tierth. They will make quite a pair, each more noble than the other, by turns. Tierth has a deep well of love for his chosen rider, and hopes that he is worth the wait. For Lucius has waited awhile, hasn't he? Perhaps they might become the heros that Tierth dreams of, protecting the Weyr with their talents and their good intentions. If nothing else, Tierth sees a budding hero in Lucius and wants to better know him. As partners in life they have so much to offer one another.
