--Beacon Academy--
~The Heiress to Nihility and Hyperbole~

"Yes you. The girl on the boys side of the auditorium room thing... ahh, y-yes... if you would." She frustratingly leaned forward some both hands on the hilt of her sword leaning forward, her ankle bent forward rather severely more than it should, but nothing much more than a wince from her as she huffed out frustrated at the situation. Looking back over her shoulder some, her voice now a little softer, "Mauve Ackles?.. it's, nice to meet you too... although, unfortunate.. thank you." She said as she looked down waiting for him to swing.

She was rather embarrassed but wouldn't let it show on her face. All the while a barely visible red almost tight to her armour haze was now showing a bit thicker around her stuck and injured leg and ankle. "Please, don't miss." She said not condescendingly but not necessarily nicely either.

Noir Alcott

Noir was happy that Sage accepted his apology and that they shook hands, knowing this makes things easier for them at least as team members in the future especially knowing how Sage is excited as much as he is. However, hearing that a order of knights are small in number, he figured to ask as he accepted the idea, "Sure Sage, the plan sounds solid. But I am wondering though, why is the order so small? No one want to go protect people from other people or is there another reason? I hope I'm not being nosy, it's just something I figured to ask." He was wondering what the order does in general, but he figured to start somewhere because if he can't be a hunter, he may join this order of more then half of the school tries to go after him for being one of those. But that is a future problem, current issues is the mission at hand.

Noir was looking around to see if there was any paths that lead to the ruins. He noticed there was a small opening in the tree's, so seeing this he pointed this out to Sage and said in a cheerful voice, "Hey Sage, I think I found an old path that may help us out get there." Seeing this, he hoped this may help them out get to the ruins without running into the same situation again like twice before. Just thinking about it is mentally exhausting and having to keep moving so the red marked ones don't find them.

                                        • space"Ah," Sage was slightly taken back by the other's question, "Well, I suppose its because we don't recruit very often. Its more of a lineage practice, a father teaches his son and so on. Even then, outsiders wanting to join usually don't like our code or regulations." The knight looked off and thought to himself for a moment, reflecting a little more on his partner's question and his own answer. His mother was one that disapproved of the strict regiment of knightly-hood; that was why they left Atlas in the first place. Sage continued looking off in the distance as he spoke again, "Not everyone agrees with our principals. I was trained from the time I could walk to the time I left Atlas for Vale. Its hard for some mothers to let go of their children, I suppose. Its even harder to promise to give your life for another simply out of chivalry. But it is an honorable life, and one that I have chosen." The young man suddenly remembered that he wasn't alone and that he was carrying on at this point. A pink tinge on his cheeks was the only hint to his slight embarrassment, otherwise his thoughtful expression looked more bored than anything.

space"Apologies, I didn't mean to rattle off like that. I gave you a history lesson instead of a simple answer." He cleared his throat and composed himself, pushing the thoughts from his mind. They didn't have time nor were they in the ideal location for talks of the past. Sage steeled himself and looked Noir in the eye with a sharp nod, "Let's forge that path." Sage followed Noir's gaze and saw the slight outcropping he was talking about. It certainly looked promising. His new friend's rather cheerful demeanor was infectious; it made Sage feel confident about their outcome. Noir's attitude starkly contrasted his dark, almost scary looking armor. It made Sage want to see him in battle. Only those comfortable with their skills were so cheerful in the midst of a challenge. "Looks like our best bet. Good eye, Noir. Let's make our way there, then." He nodded to Noir, moving to walk in the pointed out direction.

spaceAs they reached the path and started walking down it, Sage took out one of his scythes to clear the way. It certainly was on old path. There was overgrowth spilling out all over it. Though, it didn't exactly stand a chance against the sharp blade he was using. It was more of a slight nuisance than anything. He looked over his shoulder to Noir, "Pardon my curiosity, but where does one come across such a suit of armor? Its quite impressive. Did you find it living in that forest you were talking about, or did you forge it yourself?" Truth be told, Sage was rather interested in armor and fighting equipment. Of course, everyone at this academy probably was just as intrigued as he was.

Noir Alcott

Noir was a little awe stricken on how the order did things when Sage told him about the training and how the woman of the families don't see their sons anymore, "Well, at least your mom scene you grow up and I think that all parents wish for in one way or another." He spoke these words as he pulled out his mementos of his mother to look at the picture of her, seeing her smile while holding him as a baby with his father right beside her. He couldn't help but smile, remembering the stories that his dad told him about his mom and all of the mischief she got them into with a smile that will shine away any darkness like his own hopes to do. They started to follow down the path, Sage going ahead to clear the way with his one handed scythes in each hand.

Noir was following behind when he was asked a question of his own about his armor, he perked up and put away the necklace as he answered him happily, "Oh! Well, it was forged with help from my father. Unlike most armor or equipment, there was no easy way to put away the armor of to make it compact. So I figured to make armor that have both durability and flexibility, hence you see it able to fold up and layer on top of each other. With my dad's help to get it together, I forged each plate at a time on top of putting it together as he watched me so nothing went wrong to what you see now." he noticed that they got to a clearing and saw a building in the distance as he continued, "So you can say, instead of having a switch weapon, I made shifting armor that can be changed out with the broken parts. But I only made one spare set and it's very durable unless were facing something large and tough." During this time, he needed to figure out how to ask the others about their thoughts on humanoid grimm, maybe it could be good to ask in a class that involved his own kind that way.

After they entered the Grassy plain, he saw it as they got closer. The ruins were simple in design but at least it was noticeable and thee were short pillars with the artifacts they were after, his eyes went big and has stars in them saying in excitement, "OH MY GOODNESS! these are the ruins?! What feel, texture, HISTORY! I can't wait to learn about these and how they got here."

▰▱▰▱▰▱▰▱▰▱▰▱▰▱ "Ah, really? Heheh, thank you! Though you were pretty impressive yourself!" She'd been a little surprised when Opal had been pinned down by the beowolf. At the time, she'd felt that the distraction had been getting a little too up close and personal than she felt comfortable. If Opal had lost control of the situation, Carmine would've had to act quickly. Perhaps she didn't have enough faith into the young faunus; it wasn't as though she had a decent grasp on her fighting capabilities, though. Her new partner was much gutsier than she could've expected. Carmine couldn't help but smile at that. Tenacity was an important quality in a warrior. "Mmm, yeah. It would make sense that it be up in a clearing. Let's get moving!" With a nod, she followed alongside Opal to the possible location of the temple.

A clearing would be the most sensible option. How cool would it be if they got there first? The thought made her wonder how the others were doing. There had been a few pangs of unease out here, probably from their fellow members encountering grimm. Some of the feelings that pulled at her were stronger than others, causing her to consider following up on them. These sorts of hunches had never been wrong before. Opal, however, she had made plans with and was her teammate. Priorities would be important, and Carmine had to focus on them. No one would look her way if she ran after every time someone was in a bit of a bind. If they couldn't take care of themselves, then they wouldn't have been here in the first place. I wonder if Elliot and Noir found partners... For a moment, Carmine's gaze probably seemed a mile away before Opal moved into her peripheral.

"Ahaha! It's not weird at all! Thank you." The compliment had initially caught her off-guard, causing her to blush a little. "Heh, I didn't mean to laugh, just surprised me. That's not really...the sort of thing I'm used to hearing." Beacon Academy was a very different setting than what Carmine was used to, so of course people would have a different way of thinking. This was just much different than she'd expected. "You were pretty fierce yourself! Taking on an Alpha head on like that takes guts. We're definitely going to have to spar sometime later." A glimmer of determination sparked in her eye as they broke into the clearing. Using her shield, she pushed back a few branches to create an easier opening for the pair to step through. If this were the temple or just the lead in to another fight, they'd be ready. The huntress-in-training had confidence in their capabilities.

"I'll protect everyone including you. Nothing is going to get in the way of that, not even me." ▱▰▱▰▱▰▱▰▱▰▱▰▱▰

Of course. Apparently Mauve had turned a few more heads than he'd expected. Sometimes he wondered if anyone would win the Mauve lottery on the first day. Not like it helped or hurt anything. "Sure thing, I don't mind." It'd be best to remove the stray roots from the tree before freeing her ankle from the directly. It...looked pretty beat up. Best case scenario, it was sprained. Geez, getting this much of an injury from the terrain is almost sad. Her request for him not to miss brought a smile to his face. She's pretty cute when not huffing up a storm. "Don't worry." Thwack! Once the roots were severed, Mauve put his ax in his belt and began working at pulling apart what was left. "You know, doctors don't often treat nameless patients," he pressed, prompting her for her name. Aimless conversation would help distract her in case he slipped up while untangling the roots. It wasn't until now that he'd noticed the slight red hue focused around her leg. Is her natural aura this way?

"I'm gunna be honest with you, I ended up cutting ya pretty deep. They may have to amputate." The joke was meant to be light-hearted, but he was ready to use his semblance to help calm her down if she ended up freaking out. More harm than good would've come if she ripped her leg away while he held onto her foot. "I'm just kidding. Going to give it to you straight, though, your ankle looks like it's sprained, and that's with some luck. Doctor Mauve can patch you up if you're up for taking off your greave, but I can't help you and keep an eye out for grimm at the same time. Jush make sure I don't get shtabbed in de..." he was interrupted by the sound of tearing cloth, using his teeth to rip off a scrap of the t-shirt beneath his hoodie, "back, okay?" Unfortunate indeed. Tending to this would take some extra time, but it was better to be safe than sorry. At least there weren't any grimm around.

CRIMSON ARMATO
-Student-
--Beacon Academy--
~The Heiress to Nihility and Hyperbole~

"Of coarse, my name is Crimson Armato. Of coarse of the Armato fami-il-iII!! What!?" What tensed up tightly and the red hue grew over her leg that was stuck, a dark red wrap around it almost as she let go of her sword and grabbed her shin with both hands sort of going back to her knees. After some feeling she paused, looking away. Her heavy armoured gauntlets let go and one planted into the ground in a fist to support her as her other hand reached over and grabbed her sword, gripping it tightly. The red aura spread some up her leg and to her body however, giving a bit of a dissipating putter and faded back out as her shoulders lowered, still keeping a hue around her pinned leg.

After he ripped his shirt to begin a wrap she finally looked back, a bit red faced biting her lower lip hard. Her eyes fixated on him, darting between his hands and the wrap. "... not, funny, atoll... " She huffed and then gave a sort of just heavy armor flop and sat on her rump with a clank. Her foot sort of before him now. "Okay... I'm fine and can go on though." She said as she leaned in and ran a hand over the greave that was wrapped in the red aura.

Giving a bit of a wince as she did and the aura around it faded slowly, as it did she only winced more until it faded away completely. Which brought on a hand going to her mouth as she laid back muffling a louder whimper. Her free hand giving a wave now as if saying 'fix it fix it!'
Her muffles and whimpers ranging out a bit of a ways into the fairly eerily silent area of this forest. Must be something bigger or another person for this small of a grimm presence.

                                        • spaceSage appreciated Noir's sentiment over he and his mother, but it might as well have fallen on half-deaf ears. Enduring her was a chore to say the least. Maybe he should be more sympathetic towards her. But all of this was pushed away with the other musings once they pushed on; maybe he would bring it up later. The knight also had an urge to bring up the picture his teammate was fixated on, but chose to leave it alone until their bond was a little stronger. No need to bring up emotions on the battlefield. Noir seemed rather candid and honest which would prove a good confidant. Sage was thankful fate had sent Noir barreling into him, figuratively and physically. Once they were a little ways down the path, their conversation picked up again, due to Sage's own prompt. He listened to the other's rather carefree answer. As he assumed, it was handmade, and very intriguing. He even had two sets of the compacting armor.

space"I must say, the idea of a transforming suit of armor in lieu of a weapon is very unique. Seeing it compact away was a sight to behold." As they approached a clearing, the branches finally giving way, a small structure at the bottom of the hill came into view. They made their way down the hill and across the grassy plain. It was a simple structure that looked, already having lost so much of itself and the rest didn't look far behind. At Noir's excited outburst, Sage cast him a smile. To be honest he shared his partner's sentiment. Their goal, though, was his main focus as he approached the pillars of artifacts, "Chess pieces?" A curious quip; he picked up the black knight and stared at it thoughtfully before walking back over to Noir. There were a few other pieces missing, indicating they hadn't been the first to arrive.

spaceHe tossed the chess piece into Noir's hands, "This one alright? In its hay-day, I'm sure this place was more impressive. I'm interested in the history as well." While he didn't sound as excited as Noir, Sage certainly was. His eyes scanned the area now that their mission was complete. The most simple things were the most magnificent, as contradictory as it sounded. "Shall we wait here, for others, or make our way back? I wouldn't mind staying to look at these ruins a little more, though." He cast his gaze to Noir. In the open like this, they were more vulnerable, but they could also see anything coming at them. He assumed the Grimm would keep more to the wooded areas for surprise attacks. Then again, not all Grimm could think and plan in such a manner.

                                      • spaceOpal smiled down at Carmine when she laughed with a small blush crossing her cheeks, 'So cute, she mused as she looked forward again. It was a little alarming how quickly her fondness of Carmine grew, but close bonds were important in this line of work. She couldn't help but think that the more people she knew, the more she would have to mourn eventually, but that thought was muted quickly. No reason to think that way now. She chose to distract herself with conversation, "You're quite welcome. And thank you. It might not have been wise to charge so readily into that fight, but I don't like sitting idly, especially only with one enemy. When an Alpha howls it usually brings a hoard, and no comrades followed him." She turned her head to smile at Carmine.

space"Sometimes being a little reckless is fun. But I promise I would never do anything to endanger you. I knew we could win that battle." There was a strong confidence in her voice, and promise in her eyes, "Yes, we will, I look forward to that match." Sparring against Carmine, Opal isn't quite sure what that outcome would be. She could only imagine an even match; anticipation coursed through her. Aside from their spar, Opal's thoughts went to the Vytal festival, still going strong despite the occurrences at the Battle for Beacon. Fighting as a team, showing off their skills, it made her blood pump with excitement. Trying to settle herself, Opal looked ahead to the clearing they were approaching. Carmine used her shield to help clear the path and Opal copied her actions with her javelin. Her eyes fell on the temple, Noir and another boy standing in front of it already.

space"Looks like we're in the right place." She was a little peeved that they weren't the first team there, but she supposed someone had to have the good luck to find it right away. Opal smiled at her partner and started walking in that direction, returning her javelin to its spot resting against her shoulder. Once they got a little closer, Opal raised her free hand into the air, waving, "Hey there, Noir and friend! I see you beat us here. Glad to see you fared well, still all in one piece." She smiled at Noir before looking ahead to the short pillars decorating the area. Were there... chess pieces on them? How interesting. She wouldn't necessarily call them relics, but to each their own, she supposed. Maybe Ozpin was making a weird statement.

"Hm" Hildr hummed, giving a smile as Elliot show-off his gauntlets. "I would... appreciate that" she then replied, thinking about how she had been so ignorant when she originally forged Herja. "Oh, really? Hildr then asked, surprised that he actually thought her weapon was just right as it were. "Thank you, I think I'm just... ironing out the kinks."

Their attention moved on when he Ursa made a noise, and in reply to Hildr, Elliot made a good point. The last thing they wanted was even more Grimm, they were actually quite lucky that they weren't fighting a horde already. "The Grimm are probably have a hard time locating any negative emotions right now - considering we're all fighting the grim as a means for ascension. I... don't think there's much of a grudge coming from us right now." Hildr joked, smiling briefly at Elliot. With his thoughts on where to go, though, her eyes ventured across the trees, the nearby hill and the general direction she thought was the opposite of the way they dived into the forest. But as Elliot mentioned her seeing anything, Hildr jumped at the thought. "Oh, I did, actually." Hildr turned, looking around for the spot that she remembered stopping in earlier, and then saw where they had come from. She seemed to pace herself and see important obscurities that weren't that obvious. She looked at the bark of a tree, and then a familiar open space nearby before she turned instinctively to look int he same direction as earlier. "Over there" Hildr announced, pointing Herja into the direction. There was a bit of distance to cover, but there was definitely the outline of some ruins, more than just rock that looked carved, definitely manmade. "Let's press on" Hildr said, spinning her spear into a more travel-friend size. With a gesture she gave the signal to start moving, and together they began running towards the direction of what they hoped would be the temple.

It wasn't long until they reached their destination, and Hildr was neither surprised or underwhelmed. It was a circular temple in ruin, made of stone, with several pedestals placed around the inner wall, each topped with the relics Ozpin had spoken about earlier. Hildr came to a stop at the clearing, where the trees stopped, and took in a breath. There were already students there, four of them to be exact. Two young men were at the temple first, by the looks of things. One wearing mostly blue, the other in mostly black. Not far behind them was two girls, one wearing the colours of fire, and the other wearing a bleak black and blood red combo. "It would apear we're not the first pair to make it to the temple" Hildr said with a smile, admiring the other students. "You... probably know them better than I do. So you can lead the way" Hildr added, with a smile and a kind gesture, she would gladly follow Elliot down to the temple, beside... she hadn't really met anyone yet. She didn't want to intervene in anything.

Noir Alcott

Noir was still enjoying the site of the ruins when Sage mentioned what the artifacts looked like. He never saw a chess piece before so hearing that made him glad to experience another new thing. However, it ended when one that looked like a black horse is flying to him and was frantic on catching it and heard his partner ask him a question but also heard next excited him, "Yeah man, it should help us out.....WAIT! You like history too! Awesome Sage, I am more into the time before the great war but I figured it was going to happen anyway due to the treatment to faunus." He was almost lost in thought when he was asked on waiting here for the others or leaving, he said with a nod, "Might as well stay, better to go back with numbers on our side. Old saying, safety in numbers especially if you don't know the area."

However, they didn't need to wait that long as couple groups came out of the woods. knowing them, Noir saw them and shouted to them all with a grin, "Hey guys! you made it." When he saw Opal and Carm, he put the black horse into his pocket and rushed right to them and gave them both a hug yelling, "FRIENDSHIP HUG!" then he lets go and then starts to see the other group and wave to them as well saying, "Hi Elli and partner of his, I got a crazy story to tell you!" When he started, he retold everything he told Sage about his landing into a middle of a Beowulf pack to his chase, then bumping into his partner Sage an then oddly enough surviving the hoard the kept rolling down the hill to the river that washed them down the waterfall. Then he said with respect, "Anyway, this is my partner Sage, you already know how we met due to that story I just told." He figured to stops there, letting Sage introduce himself like the knight order.

"No negative emotions, huh? Yeah, I guess I am feeling pretty chipper right now. A bit of jealousy, but that's not really anything negative. Just incentive to do better myself." Elliot stated, a grin on his face as he took in what Hildr was saying about the lack of Grimm attacking them. He was pretty glad when she mentioned that she had, indeed, seen something that looked very similar to a temple while they were dashing through the forest. Maybe he really should have asked her first. "Awesome! We can get on that and maybe get there pretty early too!" Elliot stated, glad that they were finally getting on the same page, at least a little bit. Following Hildr, it did not take them very long to get back to where they had first met, further causing Elliot to be embarrassed about the fact that he had just ran off after she asked him where he thought the temple was. From there, even he could see the large structure that resembled a temple. "I guess I should really open my eyes up more before just taking off." Elliot muttered in a very joking way, trying to ease his own embarrassment by making it slightly comedic.

After a little bit of walking, they had come across the ruins that Ozpin had mentioned, slight smirk appearing on his face as he noticed what was sitting on the temple's pedestals. "Chess pieces, huh? I wonder if that was mom's idea or Professor Ozpin's..." Elliot contemplated aloud, observing the ruins as they began to close the distance. It was then that he noticed the other four people that had managed to arrive, interest swelling up as he began to identify them. It seemed like Carmine and Opal had managed to band together and form a group, while Noir ended up running into some random guy that Elliot had not met yet. It looked like Noir's luck with running into people he knew was about on par with Elliot's. Speaking of partners, it seemed that Hildr had mentioned that Elliot should lead the way since he probably knew the group of people at the temple better. "You're pretty intuitive, aren't you? I'm surprised you could tell just from the way I was lookin at them." Elliot mentioned, smirking a little bit at how amazing his teammate seemed to be. Maybe he had secretly gotten pretty lucky with who he found.

As they arrived at the temple, Elliot was suddenly bombarded with some story that Noir told him of the events that transpired before Noir and his partner arrived. It took him a while to finish it. "Really? That's pretty crazy man." Elliot mentioned, feeling somewhat glad that he had not managed to get caught up in whatever crazy bad luck Noir had. Just the idea of something like that happening to him gave him a bit of the spooks. He then turned to Noir's partner and spoke. "Nice to meet you... Sage? Yeah, that's what he said. Anyway, I'm Elliot." He mentioned, introducing himself as he looked around the ruins, trying to figure out what relic he wanted to take back with him. "There's nothing too crazy for me to tell. Hildr just kinda led the way and we found this place pretty quick. I guess not quick enough though." He mentioned, laughing a little bit at the fact that they were not the first ones to arrive. "Not surprised you two ended up on a team though. You guys seemed to hit it off pretty well back at the campus." Elliot mentioned, turning to Carmine and Opal, the other friends he had made on campus. After he addressed them, he turned back to his partner an spoke to her. "There's so many relics, huh? I guess they want most of the teams to be able to succeed." He mentioned to Hildr, still observing the artifacts.

▰▱▰▱▰▱▰▱▰▱▰▱▰▱ The temple's appearance was much...humbler than Carmine had expected. Sure, they were ruins and had to be small enough to make it some form of a challenge to find, so it made sense enough. Seemed like they weren't the first team to make it here, though. At least they made it! She smiled at Opal and gave her a thumbs up. "Hey, Noi- woah, no." Noir's sudden hug sent a shiver up her spine. While she didn't mind things like nudges, high fives, or those sorts of things, Carmine was definitely not the sudden hugging type. There was a such thing as too close too soon. Luckily, he'd released her as well as Opal if she'd gotten caught up in it, rather quickly, saving her the trouble of seeming too rude. Noir's use of "Elli," however, made her turn around and wave to the brawler who seemed to be accompanied by a new teammate. She would've said a verbal greeting, but Noir started in on this weird, almost unbelievable tale about what had happened in the forest. Were there even waterfalls or a river here? Surely that was a thing she would've noticed in the air, or... maybe not? Perhaps that had been one of the moments of unease she'd felt not too long ago. Not having much more a response than Elliot, she simply nodded in agreement. That definitely sounded crazy.

"Heheh, glad you made it here, too Elliot. It's nice to meet you too, Sage- oh, and Elliot's new partner as well, of course!" Carmine waved to the two of them. Both seemed like they knew how to handle themselves in a fight. If their journey here was anything like hers and Opals...or Noir's for that matter, then they had to be capable. "My name's Carmine. Glad these two were paired up with good partners!" she introduced after Elliot. She'd been a little curious about who everyone would end up getting paired up with. Hildr, as Elliot had mentioned her name was, sounded particularly reliable to their efforts. "Well, I think it was one part us, one part luck, but I'm happy it ended up this way! Opal's way cool in a fight!" Carmine enthused in response to Elliot. She moved her thumb to the button on her hilt, transforming her sword into its firearm form and turned to Opal.

"The relics are in the shape of chess pieces, right? I'm not familiar with the rules. Do you think our choice of the relic we choose will effect how we're seen?"
She tilted her head while examining the relics, trying to remember a scrap of what these things names were. After a moment, Carmine sighed, giving up on figuring it out. Chess had a few too many rules for her growing up to keep enough focus on it. Between that and her lack of thinking actions through, well, she'd usually lose whenever her mother brought it up. Maybe it really doesn't matter... "Wanna go with the tower?" Carmine pointed a thumb toward a rook piece, a defeated expression on her face.

"I'll protect everyone including you. Nothing is going to get in the way of that, not even me." ▱▰▱▰▱▰▱▰▱▰▱▰▱▰

It was hard not to smile as Mauve did what he could to patch up Crimson's leg. "It was a little funny," he teased. She's about as put together as Emi when it comes to pain. Her reactions and this visible change in aura makes me think her semblance has something to do with that as well. This will have to do until we make it back to school. The young man dusted off his legs before standing. Depending on her situation even walking could be an issue. Even if his hypothesis was correct and her semblance did have something with pain, continuing to use it while injured could make things worse. Just hope she can walk on her own. If not... A distinct clacking could be heard when Mauve combined his axes to make the submachine gun, Oriphiel. Whether or not Crimson would need any support walking, fighting off Grimm would be easier this way. Keeping them at a distance would prove more manageable. "That's the best I can do for now. Besides, we should get moving. Can you walk? The temple shouldn't be too far from here, so let's get moving!" This was taking up a lot of time. They were probably quite behind.

                                        • spaceSage chuckled a bit at Noir's antics. He had a feeling they would get along well; their personalities seemed to compliment each other. The knight nodded with a smile, "I do, indeed. Learning your history could save your life. If I'm to be honest, the years during the war intrigue me the most. War reveals humanity's true self. Or, rather, their most desperate self. It makes you think of what you're willing to fight for." Ah, he was speaking his thought aloud again. Sage was sometimes told his views were archaic or dark, so he didn't want to have the same effect on Noir. At his question, Noir offered a rather wise answer, although Sage would have chosen the same, but not for the same sentiment. There were two of each chess piece. He only assumed that whomever their future teammates were would choose the corresponding one. Quite frankly, he wanted to know who they would be, and what type of fighters they were.

space"I agree, we'll stay and wait for othe--" Well they didn't have to wait very long, did they? Before he could even finish his sentence there was another pair approaching them. Two women, at least one of which knew Noir. The rabbit-eared faunus called out to them and Noir moved to hug the two girls. So, he knew them both. Sage moved aside so they could approach the relics when, suddenly, they were joined by a third pair. A young man and woman; Noir knew the young man as well, apparently. He certainly was good at picking out friends. He gave the group a friendly smile and wave as Noir shared how the two met before ultimately introducing Sage. "Its an honor to meet friends of Noir's." He stood straighter, then, and closed a fist over his chest, "Yes. My name is Sage Tempest, member of the brotherhood of knights, Atlas division. I'm only to assume you all met Noir in the same manner as I?" He ended his serious introduction with a joke, hopefully it would stick. With his rather deadpan personality, jokes aren't usually effective coming from him.

spaceSage patiently listened to the group recant their tales and finish their greetings. He smiled warmly at Carmine as she mentioned her friends finding good partners. He turned to look at Elliot's partner Hildr. So, she was in the same boat that he was. It seemed these other four all met yesterday, or maybe they knew each other before school. No matter, they didn't seem like the outcasting type. Besides, one of these pairs could be their teammates. As they spoke, Sage paid attention to their surroundings, making sure nothing would pop out without them knowing. With so many people here they shouldn't have an issue with whatever came at them. They all looked like capable fighters, and there was a decent variety of weapons. He cast his gaze back to the group, watching the others as they approached the relics with curiosity.
