▰▱▰▱▰▱▰▱▰▱▰▱▰▱ There was a bit of uneasiness around her, all from different angles. Was it disappointment? Even Opal had let off a minor aura. Everyone has their own issues, of course, but Carmine would've thought that moods would be higher than they were now. This was the team naming ceremony, after all! Classes were starting tomorrow, there'd be training and all sorts of opportunities. Pressing two fingers to her temple, she sighed. This was such a migraine. Normally such a miniscule amount of stress wouldn't bother Carmine, but she was feeling a little sensitive due to the overload before. This overstimulation... is a little frustrating, I need to go for a run, I think, or take a nap. At the very most get out of this room. Although, this is nothing compared to what Elliot was feeling during initiation... A shiver went up her spine simply thinking about it. The young man's voice rang out as her approached the rest of their team. His words were hopeful, however, something that could easily keep Carmine in her good mood. "For sure! We'll be the best team in the whole class! No, the whole school!" she enthused, trying to pump up herself as well as her teammates. Of course, they probably had a long way to go before accomplishing that feat, but it wasn't impossible. Not at all.

It seemed like the ceremony had finished, teams no longer being announced, and everyone was dispersing. They probably should've done the same, go meet their mentor, head to their dorm room. At the very least, I'd like to get out of here. "Looks like things are settling down, so I'm going to settle in! Wanna go find our dorm room?" Carmine asked with a reassuring smile. Having left her bags back at school during the field exercise, she had quite a few things to unpack. A strange form of fatigue was also weighing on her. It'd be nice to take off her armor for a little while. Whether or not they'd join her, she was leaving. Many were clearing out, but it was still too crowded for comfort. This would kill two birds with one stone.

"I'll protect everyone including you. Nothing is going to get in the way of that, not even me." ▱▰▱▰▱▰▱▰▱▰▱▰▱▰

✦✧✦✧✦✧✦✧✦✧✦✧✦✧ Stella's face showed only shock when Sigmund turned right back around on Weiss after their mentor gave Ruby the same punishment for speaking out as him. Overall the scene was a bit much for the faunus as things were wrapping up for the team naming ceremony. Despite them no longer announcing teams at this point, she kept her pale eyes on the stage as if something of interest was still occurring. She'd given up on not being a part of the conversation, however, when her leader replied to Weiss's comment about her sleep schedule. Ah, already this is being brought up. I suppose it was inevitable, of course, but had hoped it wouldn't have come up so frequently so soon. "I'm perfectly capable of a large work load. No need to worry about me," she murmured while crossing her arms. Things would be easy enough during the first week, anyway. They'd probably have training with Weiss, some light homework for their classes, and the most extra she'd have to worry about until things started moving was keeping up with whatever emails, messages, or calls her signs would bring in for tutoring. Well, she hoped there would be enough replies and scheduling to keep her on her toes. That meant more money, more good reviews, and more chances for improvement herself. This sort of thing was a two-way street, after all. The sessions had gone pretty well the year before given that she was a first year, so she had high hopes for this first semester. As a second year, there would likely be first years who would seek her out because of that extra year of experience. Speaking of past experience, it seemed like Sigmund was probing Miss Weiss for info about her disdain toward Elliot Vermillion.

She'd hoped he'd already known. Stella herself was quite curious about the situation but did not want to push Weiss for too much information. Of course, for the huntress, that wasn't any level of information she wished to reveal. Who would be so willing to spill that they had gotten pelted with garbage of all things? "You're quite right, there. I simply would not suggest overexposing yourself to him if you plan on keeping your slate clean," Weiss warned before Sigmund mentioned the word "bestie", causing her scarred eye to visibly twitch. The kid was lucky such a comment didn't earn him another smack, though the woman did mentally note making tomorrow's training especially tough. What stopped her was Ruby's excited reply to his musing.

"Aw. Here I thought we'd passed that point," Ruby complained, though she made her sarcastic teasing quite obvious. "Ah! Double team training would be great, though, huh? We should plan!" the woman gushed. The dynamic between her and Weiss always seemed charming to Stella. Both their visual and mental dichotomy were really worth admiring. It seemed at this point,
the two huntresses were entering their own conversations about whether or not team STRS and ECHO would have grouped training from time-to-time. This only confirmed the now inevitable. From what Stella understood, it was difficult deterring Miss Ruby once she'd made up her mind. Hearing her name, the girl was pulled from her thoughts.

"Yeah, now's most likely the best time." She pulled the stack of papers from the messenger bag she'd put together back in their room and handed half to Sigmund. They'd be able to cover more ground together than had Stella done this on her own. "The dorm building will be crowded, so let's hit the dining hall and then the school building. I have whatever we need to hang them up, so yell if you see a good spot," she said with a light smile. The young woman had very high hopes for this semester.
"Ah, and, uh, thanks for helping me out with this."

"Sure, things seem a little dim now, but there are always stars among the darkness." ✧✦✧✦✧✦✧✦✧✦✧✦✧✦

Well, Crimson seemed thoroughly perplexed by Mauve's little confession. It's not like it really mattered to him, but better go through this now with her than later. At least, that's what he had initially thought until her semblance deactivated and her knees gave out beneath her. The young man bent his own while raising his hands, fully bracing himself for the weight; however, Sage seemed on top of things, leading her toward himself rather than directly onto Mauve. The whole time, "hey, hey, hey, hey, hey," poured out the kid's mouth in a soft tone. Sure, he understood it being a little surprising, but full-on collapsing felt a little uncalled for. This seemed more related to the amount of pain the poor girl was in, though. The act verified his theories about her semblance, but that wasn't what was important right now. Before the girl could even reply to Sage's question, the boy did it for her. "Yes. She does." His voice now had a different demeanor to it than it normally did, much more authoritative than usual. Crimson wouldn't have much of a choice in the matter as far as he was concerned. He'd planned on escorting her there after the initiation when he'd tended to her ankle upon their meeting. I can't believe that wasn't the first thing I did! What a moron. I'd gotten so excited for this damn ceremony that I forgot about her ankle let alone the rest of her injuries! Geez. He quickly moved in at Sage's request, ducking beneath her arm and wrapping his own around her if she didn't have a problem with it.

"Noir, can you head to the infirmary ahead of us and let them know we're bringing her in? They'll be able to clear off a bed that way,"
he asked, moving in tandem with Sage if he did. How lucky was he that his first few hours here at school consisted of studying this campus map? Mauve went on to give Noir the directions to the infirmary before focusing on Crimson. "Sorry. We should've gone sooner." Sage's semblance was a life-saver, really. He'd been prepared for much more weight that this. "We'll be there in no time, though, so don't worry, Crimson, okay? Sage, uh, let me know if you feel anything..." It was then that Mauve used his own semblance while dialing back what he could of its range to bring it as close to him as possible. Given Sage's proximity, the young knight may have been affected as well. If it worked, Crimson, at the very least, should have felt a sort of soothing sensation emanating from Mauve. This wouldn't help the pain, not at all, but it could help with her perception of it if he kept her calm. That was just a theory, of course. If Sage mentioned anything related to its effect on him, he'd have to dial it way back. It was a difficult task, keeping his semblance at a differing range than its base, but not affecting Sage and Noir would be important to being alert and efficient in helping their fallen teammate.

Sigmund had merely smiled at Stella's response to his comment about her sleep schedule. There was no real reason to worry about the Faunus, but he'd still keep an eye on her to make sure she didn't take on too much, or spread herself too thin. When Weiss spoke about Elliot was a bit surprised at his mentor's warning. "Slate clean? Wonder what he has done to earn her ire this much. Must've been something pretty bad then, but it seemed like our team and her might be seeing the supposed troublemaker occasionally with the potential of double team training. That's also not including any classes any of us might have with him." His eyes refocused upon hearing Stella asking his question once his own thoughts were finished with. Sigmund took the half that was handed to him, and inspected the flyers once more, before red eyes shifted to Stella. "Alright sounds good, maybe even hit the Library for those that like to study or need to try to cram things. Be a good place to put some flyers I believe. Will have to tackle the dorm once things calm down I bet?" The boy titled his head in question, before blinking a couple of times at Stella thanking him. His shoulder's raised up for a second in a shrug.

"No thanks needed. I'm your leader, teammate, partner, and friend so not that big of a deal. If you ever need help with combat training or something more than welcome to ask me or one of the others. It's good and fun to have someone to be the dummy in the situation. Gives you a chance to study the person you're tutoring in my opinion.....plus I enjoy training."
The boy mentioned with a chuckle. It wasn't a lie because one of his hobbies was training when in some of his spare time. In fact, sometimes he trained at night when the others were asleep, save for Stella who was a night owl. She was up sometimes when he was out. Sigmund looked at Weiss and Ruby, figuring Weiss would want them to mention they'd be on their way. "We're going to be heading out on our way. See ya both soon. Ms. Weiss sooner than Ruby I'm willing to bet." Red eyes looked at Stella as he gestured that he was ready. "Lead the way, Stel." He made sure to have the papers secured, and in a comfortable position,
before he would follow the girl out.

    CRIMSON ARMATO
    -Student-
    --Beacon Academy--
~The Heiress to Nihility and Hyperbole~

Crimson was looking at the ground in a bit of a blur, her practically broken feeling shoulders, which were only really just very strained, from her catapulting of her teammate, as well as her landing during launch, coupled with her ankle and shin being very strained. But she was strong, if not strong.. stubborn, as he managed to only let out a small wince in noise as her leader and Sage quickly made her lighter, and got under her arms and held her upwards. "A-Ah'm fine... just a little .. eh, bruise.. Armato's are no strangers ehh!...O-okay.. okay." It hurt, but, somehow, she was able to see everything going on. The pain making her vision seem more vibrant and her ears having a slight ring. But... her thoughts. Everything came to her clearly as she heard everything. A sort fo warmth over her.

She just tried to help hold herself, as her leader, to her great surprise again, showed his quality. Making decisive demands to which she nodded to him, blinking and hiding her tears still biting her lip. She tried keeping any weight of what little she was feeling, off her bad leg, as she tried her best to focus back on her shoulders and lower leg. But she couldn't. She was a bit too tired to bring her semblance back up to speed. But her teammates, they were all, already so caring. The silver one as well. He... didn't seem to have the same, enthusiasm as Mauve. Then again up until now she hadn't seen much out of him anyways. He was, somewhat, well, rather proper, and... shaking that thought as she was brought to reality with a sheer ounce of pain from her heel hitting the floor momentarily. Making her wince out loud, her gauntlets gripping to the shoulders of Sage and Mauve.

    Noir Alcott

Noir listened when he was told who Jaune Arc was from Sage, he was amaized that their teacher went though a lot. His eyes went wide and had stars in them when he nodded in agreement, "He sounds awesome! Hope he doen't mind me, we don't have a television back home. Dad said its always sad on, I wondered why but I will see soon." However, he was pulled out of his excitement when he heard groans of pain coming from Crim. He went into panic along side with the pup yipping worringly as he asked random things, "Are you ok?! Need to lay down?! Need any juice?!"

However, when his team leader Mau asked him to go on ahead to get a bed ready in the infirmary he saluted and said, "Aye aye leader." Then he started to run with the pup barking as he shouted while running though students, "EXCUZE ME, PARDON ME, COMING THROUGH, WE GOT AN INJURED TEAMMATE HERE!!" Some students had to literally jump out of the way while others were somehow ran over by a freshman as he charged while making a cloud trail going straight to the infirmary. As he ran, a certain doctor was watching with interest to the Beowulf pup, more for curiosity then for experiments.

Faunus → Professor → Beacon Academy

Well, teaching was certainly going to be difficult today. If it wasn't strange enough that he shows back up out of nowhere, a few weeks later he's bringing in a kid with him! She was certainly...cute, to say the least, but that wasn't the issue! The fact that he didn't bring her with him in the first place, why she referred to him as papa, everything surrounding this situation was wholly odd. Of course, Coco prodding her with the questions Velvet had herself certainly did not aid the situation any. Her friend had been calling more often when she'd gotten wind of the situation. Supposedly, she was off-assignment for the festival and would be in town rather soon. It felt more like a threat than plans... The woman gave a good huff as she glanced over her lesson plan.

Soon, the students she'd be teaching would not only be Beacon students but from other academies too. As the professor for the most combat-heavy class, there was a certain amount of preparation that was required from her for the students. While her classes ranged from the lecture hall to small missions outdoors, the rest of her classes until the Vytal Festival would be held here in the amphitheater. Before the students arrived, she checked her scroll to make sure everything was synced correctly: the screen that could display above the risen stage, the lights, that sort of thing. Mundane tasks like this would normally be able to distract her from the thoughts in her own head. Unfortunately, that little girl kept popping up in her mind.

"Lyon... Really. Some forewarning would have been nice." With a sigh, she ran a hand over her head and ears. If he'd at least told her this much, beforehand, it would have been much less suspicious! Now it was all over with the secrets again. The faunus woman felt at a slight loss regarding the situation. She sat on the stage and lied back before a familiar "meow" caught her attention. A brown cat padded across the stage and pressed his head up against Velvet's. "Heh, thanks, Latte. You know you can't be in here, though. If professor Goodwitch sees you, I'll get an earful." Latte nudged her again and only left when he received a reassuring pet. The teacher stood and stretched as the cat disappeared. It wouldn't take very long for the students who liked to be early to show up. Okay. I have to keep it together for my students! I suppose I'll have to deal with this for now...

What was Elliot doing before class, before he was trapped in a room for a little over an hour to be batted around by second years that were obviously more skilled than he was? People that had practiced their Semblances and young hunters/huntresses to-be from every other academy were starting to come here, and each one was far more practiced that Elliot could ever hope to be... or at least that was his belief. So what was Elliot up to in his free time since Saturday, since that woman attacked him? Looking back at it... Elliot could only clearly think of one thing.

"Pick up the pace little bro!"

Yes, he was taking extracurricular combat lessons from Ruby, the young woman having decided to take her little brother under her wing after he hurriedly requested her to teach him her trade secrets. "Alright, but you gotta make your weapon speak loudly about you, not someone else. That means a change of color is in order, little bro." She had told him as they laid down his mother's scythe and went to town redecorating the large weapon. Elliot had also took it upon himself to start tweaking some different aspects of the scythe, fixing the gun to be less like a musket and more like the weapon his mentor so eagerly used in fights. Not too familiar with dust or firearms, Elliot would not have to adjust much since he was just starting to use such things. His memories of his mother's practice, however, would not suffice after making improvements to the weapon. He spent an entire night working non-stop to make the weapon feel right... to make it just how he wanted to for him to wield effectively. The last time he had worked so tirelessly was when Yang had first given him her spare Ember Celica.

Now, Elliot was simply being tossed around like a ragdoll and having his sister beat the living crap out of him as he tried his best to learn the weapon's ins and outs. Tired, he laid on the grass in the courtyard as Ruby did the same, both of them staring up towards the sky. "You know... it's been a long time since I... tried something different. Is it always this difficult?" He asked between winces and breaths, clearly tired out from the day's work. "Well, you were always a natural for things like this. But you're doing something completely different. Of course it's going to be more difficult for you." She stated, completely fine despite the training session having taken place for about two hours at this point. "So what you're saying is... I'm going to be crap for a while." Elliot stated, somewhat out of breath at this point as he stared up at a particularly bunny-shaped cloud. "Yeah. Completely. I wouldn't try to show off with a scythe at the Vytal Festival. You'll get your butt handed to you real good." Ruby stated, giving a thumbs up to the sky and dropping her arm to her side afterwards. "Thanks." Elliot stated sarcastically, sitting up as his sister sounded out a "you're welcome."

"I gotta get to class. Professor Velvet'll yell at me if I'm late... again." Elliot muttered the last part, not having too good of a track record when it came to trying to make it to class on time. "Just be careful, little bro. Lotta people heard about what happened over the weekend. Best not to stick your head too high in class for a while, especially not with the students from the other schools around." Ruby stated, remembering how a lot of people tried to fight Pyrrha all the time back in her day. Elliot was no prodigy like that girl though... so he should not have too much of a problem. If anyone heard about how he switched between fighting with a scythe and fists though... that would definitely cause some interest in fighting him to develop. "And try not to use your semblance either. The less people know about it the better. The Vytal Festival's all about having the advantage over your opponents. The less they know about you, the better." Ruby instructed, a serious expression on her face as she tried to tell her young protege-to-be how to keep himself in check before the festivities began.

With a sigh, Elliot picked up his bag and simply began walking away, not wanting to have this conversation right now. "And don't forget to sign up for your mission! Maybe you'll get randomly assigned to me again!" Ruby called out enthusiastically, happy that the first years were going to be going on their first mission soon. For the most part, the missions had a different roster of mentors to look after the students for a weekend. Ruby, Weiss, Blake, and Yang had all signed up for it though. That meant there was a chance that she could end up supervising Elliot for the weekend. As Elliot approached the amphitheater, his scroll rang to tell him that he had a message. Pulling it out, he read a message from his teacher. "Good luck today, champ. I heard you're going to do your first mission soon. Don't have too much fun bashing up Grimm." Taiyang was way too sentimental, and the message sort of left Elliot feeling a bit torn. While Taiyang had always been rather caring... his current attitude since the incident had evolved from caring to protective. It sort of made Elliot feel a bit uncomfortable, and he was not sure how to deal with it. His mother was being a bit over-protective too, almost domineering when it came to the mission his team was supposed to select. It almost felt like she was trying to keep him away from anything fun or interesting.

Having entered the amphitheater, Elliot took a seat in the first row of the bleachers, looking down at Velvet who was on the stage. She seems... kind of out of it. Elliot thought to himself, watching Professor Velvet think to herself. Ever since the incident, he had gotten a lot better at that. Picking out differences in attitudes and levels of distraught. Did that come with traumas like the ones he and Stella were subjected to? Or maybe it was his own way of trying to find out whether the person in front of him was real or not. Either way... the small differences in people's actions were starting to speak a lot more loudly than they ever did before to Elliot. Maybe he should ask her if she is alright after class. Would that even be appropriate? No, it would be best to leave the professor alone to sort out her own ordeals. Instead... he would just wait for his teammates in a politely quiet fashion. That was probably best.

    Russet Ayers

it was early, and for once Russ was up before the rest of the team. Auburn was still plenty steamed that he had squared off against white fang members in the park without calling for help, not like they'd give him much choice in the matter. Rather than deal with any early morning training as punishment, Russ woke early, and made off as quiet as possible to avoid the girl's ire. When mad, she could be a fright to her friends as well as enemies. As for that particular day, Russ had made a made dash for the rangers after beating his melee oriented attackers, and had just managed to beat them down. It hadnt been a very close fight, but close enough to make his breath catch when he thought about various moments when only his quick reflexes had prevented serious injury. He waited around to make sure that when the cops did arrive they got the whole lot, and after that, had returned to the academy to get patched up and inform Auburn of the situation. Most of the cuts were easily bandaged, but a small cut on his arm had required stitches, Twinged like a mother still, but was manageable.

He shuffled into the amphitheatre, looking more inclined to sleep, a plain bagel in one hand, a paper cup of coffee in the other, black if the smell was to be trusted. " G'day professor Scarlatina, how ya going?" He mumbled his morning greeting to the professor, seeming unaware of her distracted state. He looked around, blinking owlishly, seeing only one other student, Elliot Vermillion. A first year. A first year who also had a dust up in Vale, same as him. The chat going round the school, if you listened to the whispers was all about him. Some wanted to fight him, others wanted to befriend him. A lot of girls wanted his number. Russ had to snort at that. Some things never changed.

No one from his team had appeared yet, so he drew a spot next to Elliot on the bleachers. " Well well, Mr. Vermillion. How ya going?" He asked, taking a gulp from the sealed cup. " Word is you had yourself a little dustup down in the city hey? Stella was there, but I hear you handled yourself pretty good." He nodded, regarding his plain bagel, but chose not to take a bite. " Mate, Ill be forward with ya, you're the current talk of the school. Flavor of the moment if you will. Folks are gonna be Queueing to have a shot at you,
and a fair number of girls, and perhaps a few blokes are gonna be lookin to get flirty with ya. With that kind of attention always comes some kinda dissent,
seen it in Kiddy school, seen it here. You're new, untested and still working this all out."
He said with a sweeping gesture, seeming to indicate Beacon as a whole. " I also hear you have a lot of support. Thats good, folks ought to have family standin' behind em. Not sure where Im going, banging on like this, but you ever want to work on the hand to eye stuff, you know coordination and speed, hit me up, I know a fair bit. Bout all Im good for, if you ask Auburn." He smiled wryly.

With that, he took a bite of the bagel and chewed thoughtfully, eyes closing as he rested his head back against the seat. He was ready to move soon as his team or Elliot's showed. Didnt want to bug anyone, but anybody tough enough to slog it out in the city during that mess was blood worth bottling, and the kid showed promise. Russ wasnt sure why he cared, maybe all this time around decent people was instilling a sense of community in him.

Elliot's attention was drawn away from his observations when he was approached by a second year he did not know very well, Russ Ayers. Curious that this guy was just now speaking to him... but less curious after her heard what Ayers had to say to him. While at first it seemed like some friendly banter, it quickly turned to the events over the last weekend, something that did not really bother Elliot but certainly filed Ayers into a certain category in his mind. "Yeah... yeah it was a rough weekend. I wouldn't say I handled myself all that well though. I got tossed around a lot and Stella almost died. So... yeah." Elliot responded, not really sure how to converse about the events. After all, it had been a deeply traumatic experience for him and everyone but Stella seemed to think it was just a cool fight that happened and was over. For Elliot though, he was still sort of living in that moment, thinking about it and wondering what that woman was doing in Vale. "Stella's alright though... and that's all the really matters." He stated, a bit more formal than he usually was. He was finally starting to emulate the spirit of his mother a bit as he straightened his back and turned towards Russ.

Then the obvious statements started popping up, the same stuff Ruby and even his mother had mentioned after the little scuffle in the city. So he was the "flavor of the moment" was he? That seemed about right... although he was not too happy hearing such things. Elliot, however, could not help himself when Ayers mentioned that people were going to try and get flirty with him. "Yeah... I actually have a hard time believing that. I've never been too good with women." He stated, giving a lighthearted laugh at the thought of being "popular" among the school populace. "Plus it doesn't help that anyone that wants to date me would be under the watchful eye of her majesty Glynda Goodwitch. Mom has a unique way of... scaring off others." Elliot mentioned, raising his eyebrows slightly to show how much of a handful his mother could be when it came to his privacy and personal affairs. After his statement, the young man simply let Ayers's words sink into his mind, taking in everything he said and try to figure out a proper way to reply to him.

From the way he offered to help him spar though, Elliot almost immediately came to the conclusion that Ayers had to be one of the man people looking to fight him from what was stated. Elliot did not really want to get caught up in any of that, and especially not with a second year. Getting knocked off the wagon he never really wanted to climb onto... yeah that would be a bit too embarrassing even for him. "As for everyone wanting to take a shot at me... I guess they'll get their chance in a week or so. I'll be competing in the Vytal Festival after all." Elliot stated, looking away from Ayers for a few seconds before speaking again. "But right now I'm not really looking into the hand-to-eye stuff. I'm trying to figure out dust... and a few strategies I'm not too familiar with. I've gotten way too comfortable fist-fighting... so I need to branch out a little bit and try something new." Elliot explained, trying to be as friendly as possible while he continued the conversation. "And yeah... my family's helping me with that. Except Yang's not really around much as it is... and Ruby's a bit distracted with her own life. I guess it's good that mom's there... otherwise I'd probably just retreat into a shell or something."

Here he was, talking like he was a turtle or something that would retract into its body to protect itself. "I still have to pick a mission for my team... but nothing's really calling out to me. The first years have all the boring ones, not even a single Grimm mentioned at all in any of the missions." Elliot stated with a rather disgruntled tone, obviously trying to change the subject away from his personal life right now. "Must be nice being a second year. You get to go on all the fun ones, get to actually help people. You're not going to collect rock samples so scientists can study how Grimm affect the areas they live in. Spoiler, a forest will always be a forest." Elliot mocked slightly, none-to-happy with the available missions. "What about you? What kind of mission are you guys going on? Something fun at least?" Elliot asked, trying to pass the time before class as best he could at the moment.

▰▱▰▱▰▱▰▱▰▱▰▱▰▱ "Wait- seriously?!" Upon arriving back to Beacon Academy, Carmine was feeling a little better. The city was still an awful mess, but they'd helped where they could. It was much later by the time she was able to show Oliver the way to Professor Ozpin's office. When they got there, however, they were met with quite the surprised. At least, Carmine was surprised by the news.

"Ah, Miss Hervor. I see you two have already met one another." While his tone was pleasant enough and he seemed composed, Carmine couldn't shake the feeling that the events of that day were weighing on him. After all, a pair of his students were attacked directly, and there were several reports of White Fang activity in the city. Everything had calmed down at that point, but there was no denying that something very weird went down today. "Good. That will save me on introductions." The dark-haired man smiled, causing Carmine to do so in return. While she didn't shut down completely around Ozpin as she did with Glynda, the girl was still quite starstruck when speaking with the headmaster of Beacon Academy. "Mr. Nyx here is a new transfer student here at Beacon. After some consideration, I believe I've chosen the right team for him to join. How does ECHO sound to you?" The question was rhetorical. If the man had
really wanted their opinion or permission, he would have told them beforehand or at least Elliot before her seeing as he was team leader. Ozpin had already made his decision. Not that it mattered. Carmine was more than happy to hear the news. After all, that meant she was already acquainted with her new teammate and partner! Still, the student did not hide her surprise regarding the circumstances of the situation. What a turn of events this was.

Well, that would explain why Carmine was once again showing her new teammate Oliver the way to the amphitheater. Yesterday had been "Beacon Tour Day" as she so creatively named it while day one had been her introducing their new team member once again to their leader, Elliot, and Hildr. Now, Carmine was showing the way to their first class being held in a place he probably remembered the route to on his own. Elliot had already headed out and might have even been waiting for the rest of his team there, and if Hildr has asked to join them, then she was of course happily welcome. For those that new her, she seemed to be back in her usual chipper mood,
though she still needed to apologize to her team for acting the way she had last week. Things had been a little weird... but no more! Carmine was bound and determined to get back on track and not get thrown off by this weird grimm thing!

"Since we were told class is in the amphitheater today, it means we'll likely be participating in active combat training which is why we needed to gear up," the white-haired girl explained as she turned to Olive and held up the shield attached to her arm. She was decked-out in light armor, both her arms and midriff covered in it. The thigh-high boots on her legs had some small plating as well. "Hey! If we're sparring, you and I should pair up! We're partners after all! You wanna see what Tyrfing does too, right?" she asked playfully before spinning back around and facing forward. It would be...unfortunate if she ran into someone by accident. "This class is taught by Professor Velvet Scarlatina. It's usually pretty fun." Carmine only said that because it was mostly combat-oriented. While she liked all the professors a certain amount, paper-based subjects were hard. Thank Remnant for Stella Nila. That faunus was the only reason Carmine hadn't been kicked out of school for failed test grades.

Upon entering the amphitheater, it was easy enough to spot Elliot as it was only him and Russet Ayers who'd shown up yet. Someone else Carmine wanted to fight. Russ's fighting style was pretty unique as her relied most on his legs. She could imagine using those solely for attacking frees up the hands for interesting grappling techniques. Unfortunately, she'd hadn't seen him fight enough to have a good handle on his moves, but that just made a fight all the more interesting. The same went for Oliver. Poor Carmine had done her best all weekend not to ask too many questions about his fighting style. Although... she'd be somewhat grateful if the lesson was on team building. Getting a new member so close to the Vytal Festival made her nervous. "Morning, professor!" she greeted as she entered before moving in to take the free seat next to their team leader. With a look up at Oliver [and Hildr had she joined], she patted her hand on the empty seat next to her.

"Hey, Elliot! Russet! Wait- Russ? Which do you prefer? Sorry, I've heard both," she apologized, scratching the back of her head. "Have you met Oliver yet?" Carmine pointed toward their new teammate using both of her hands, smiling, before turning her attention to Team ECHO's leader. "How're you feeling? Saw you training out with Ruby while I was out on my jog." Those morning jogs were like fuel or oil for her. They burned calories, but they were also very much required to function properly.

"I'll protect everyone including you. Nothing is going to get in the way of that, not even me." ▱▰▱▰▱▰▱▰▱▰▱▰▱▰

It had been a rather intriguing weekend for Oliver to say the least. He had a ton of missed calls from his mother upon going back to collect his things. That had been a real fun situation luckily Carmine was there to explain things for him, which was must faster then typing or writing something down for his mother. The boy had learned that he was to be apart of ECHO, whom the white haired girl happened to be a part of. Ozpin was a pretty interesting man to meet in person for sure, and hoped he could get more acquainted with the man in the future. He met both Elliot and Hildr as well, and they seemed pretty cool. Hildr was from a different place like him as well as appeared fairly level headed. Elliot was hard to make out at first considering of the events that recently transpired, so Oliver didn't have a good read on the boy currently. Sunday was as Carmine declared 'Beacon Tour Day' which was highly amusing for the silver haired male. His preference was this attitude that she showed on a normal basis than the more somber looking one. Currently, the boy was following his new partner to their first class of the week, and more so his first class at Beacon period. He was decked out in light armor that was more so tailored for how he fought. It was light enough to provided maneuverability yet still gave him some protection besides an aura. "I'm curious as what my first class is going to be like. Carmine is definitely excited, although I'm sure she tends to enjoy more physical activities from what I've seen. She was interested in how I fight, but didn't really ask anything besides basic questions. I did keep my semblance from her for more reasons than one. Mainly as a way to keep her in suspense." Upon hearing hear make the suggestion of them sparring, a chuckle escaped his lips. He shouldn't have been surprised at her suggestion, but nodded in agreement. It would be nice to see how the girl fought. She seemed more like a tank person, but wanted to find out for sure.

When they entered the amphitheater, Oliver took a chance to look around the place. It was fairly large, and was obviously made as an area in mind. A big lecture hall if one wanted to do so, or as a sparring arena naturally. Blue eyes returned to the other people in the room. Elliot was immediately recognizable seeing as he was ECHO's leader. Russet was someone he had never met before, and then there was Professor Scarlatina. He had heard of the professor before considering she was well known from Vale and Beacon itself. The boy gave a light bow of respect towards the professor, before looking at the two other students and waving at them with a smile. Hopefully it would be a good time to get to know his leader more now seeing as previous events passed. Oliver took his seat next to Carmine with a smile of appreciation of offering the seat. The teenager pulled out his scroll and started typing on the device. "Do they usually have sparring lessons in class here or do they do other things with the arena besides fighting one another? Also you like to jog a lot from what I noticed they past couple of days. Is that it a hobby you like, or a routine you've been doing for awhile? I wouldn't mind joining from time to time, plus maybe give me a way to get to know my team better. Need to learn what the other two like to two for better situations to learn about my new team." It stated, and was sent to Carmine's scroll. She had more than insisted on trading information. If anything, the girl had put her information in it for him. Oliver wasn't going to fight her on it, and planned on getting her information anyways. He made it a point to collect the scroll information of other people that were family or friends. It was a way for him to communicate with people besides doing charades.

Today was the day classes started back up again, and Hildr, though having enjoyed the few days of calm, was missing it. She came to Beacon Academy to learn everything she could about being a Huntress and what it meant. Hildr had woken up very early this morning in order to get some morning routine going. She liked to start every day of classes off with some personal training in the courtyards. She had found an area that was a little way away from the main avenue where she wouldn't get too much attention. There she practised technique, stance, and tactics. To finish she would enjoy some light yoga. After that she immediately left to join the rest of her team in class. Walking through the academy complex Hildr couldn't help but feel excited for today's class. It was Miss Scarlatina's class, a sparring class to be more exact. Hildr instinctively looked at Herja, her spear in it's collapsed form at her side. She placed her hand on it, feeling the slight modifications that she had managed to make to it during the small break from classes. Her time so far at Beacon had taught her were she was going wrong with it's design, and she was attempting to be somebody that she was not. She let out a breath, and looked up at a passing clock, realising she didn't have much time left to catch up with the others.

Along the way she had managed to find Carmine and their newest member, Oliver Nix. She had greeted them with her usual smile and typical "hello" as she joined to walk alongside them. Carmine appeared to be in her usual perky mood, something Hildr was glad to see, and Oliver, whilst still quite mysterious to Hildr, also appeared positive about heading to class. Conversation quickly moved onto the topic of sparring, which was Miss Scarlatina's class today, and Carmine quickly got excited. Hildr had to admit, the attitude rubs off on her, she could feel her hands eagerly attempting to reach for Herja whilst Carmine showed off her shield and thought of all the possibilities. Hildr let out a delicate laugh, "she's right. Even I have to admit, Miss Scarlatina's classes are much more desirable than the others."

Soon after they were entering the classroom, and rows of seats awaited them, all looking down tot he centre where the sparring took place. Hildr remembered her class with Professor Port a few weeks ago when he released a small Grimm creature there for them to train on. Exciting, and if anything a little unsettling. But if that was the way of Beacon, Hildr gladly accepted it. Carmine spotted Elliot and somebody else quickly. It was Russet Ayers, another student that Hildr hadn't really got to know yet. The more time she spent here the more she realised she needed to socialise with more people other than her team. But it was difficult, she wasn't used to seeing so many people back home, and it didn't help that she was still avoiding the situation of her Semblance, specifically not bringing it up in conversation. Luckily, no one had outright asked her what it was yet.

Hildr followed Carmine to their seats, and after letting Oliver sit down she followed beside him, leaning over to greet Elliot with a wave. "Hey" she grinned. As Carmine asked how he was, Hildr added "you're going to start surpassing all of us soon" jokingly. She hadn't met someone who was so determined to better themselves in such a long time, it was refreshing to see Elliot try so hard. After a few moments, Hildr turned to face Oliver Specifically. She knew she wouldn't get a verbal response, nonetheless she said "It's great to see you again. I look forward to seeing what our team can achieve together." She finished with a smile and a nod, coming across as the confident, well-spoken one. She was still struggling to get as excitable as Elliot or Carmine, but at the same time she enjoyed just being able to watch them sometimes. Hildr was trained more formerly back home, and old habits were still sticking quite hard, especially in the way that she was taught to speak with her peers.

((Hope this post is alright, just trying to get back into the loop of things. I don't really know what Hildr's aware of or not as you guys have been doing other things during the break. I didn't even realise we had a different team member until just now.))

    Russet Ayers

Russ listened, scratching at his chin absently. " Well its right Apples you and Stella were together then, werent it?" Russ grinned with a wink. " I had myself a little get broo-haha in the park, whole heap of those white fang blokes, and they weren't too pleased with me Ill tell ya. S'why Im all cut up." He relayed to Elliot. Elliot explained his consternation of having Goodwitch constantly monitoring his love life. " At least you got Mum watching out for you, hey? Others arent as lucky. As for her being scary, its all blunder. Ive served enough detentions under her to know that she may be strict, but shes a good sort." He nodded. He had served numerous detentions under Goodwitch and various others, everything from cleaning the restrooms, to doing lines, to running laps. Then Elliot Moved on to his offer to help, which was rejected. Not that Russ minded, more free time for him. "
yeah, nah, thats fair, got plenty of help, and I aint much good for dust. Stuff makes me sneeze. Just a word of wisdom from the learned to the learning. Shooting for the stars gets you burned out easy. Set small goals. Fix a hitch in your technique, work on your stamina, stuff like that. Easier to work on, easier to achieve, and it all stacks up to the great stuff eventually. S' how I learned Guitar, and Fighting."
He nodded, giving Elliot a playful slug on the shoulder.

"I dont know bout that, First years get the ones where they can learn. Going on the Grimm killing missions just means more work, more danger, bigger chance of you or your friends getting hurt. I hear you mate, a Forest is always a forest, but a small change can have a huge impact. Take my home in Vacuo for starters. Great dry eco system, had a bit of a pest problem, so they brought in a buncha foreign toads that adapted to the climate to kill em off. Well now we have none of the pests, and a bunch of blippin toads everywhere. Cant go two feet without steppin on one. Took right over didnt they?" He explained, trying to help the younger man see a different view to the problem he was griping about. " Yeah, nah, Dunno. Auburn picks the stuff, I just go along. Learned long ago there are some things just not worth second guessing, and Auburn is one of em." he said cracking a wide grin as he joked about the nature of his team leader.

It was about this time that Elliots team showed up, and Carmine stumbled over her greeting, not sure which name to use. N'dramas. Russ'll do. Only folks who call me Russet were Mum and Dad, Teachers, and Auburn when shes right cross at me." He assured her. He extended a hand to Oliver.
" G'day, Russ Ayers, how ya going?"
Then to the group, " Sorry to hear about Opal. I know what its like to lose a team member. First Scar, Then our original instructor, Then Hazel got called home, and I aint right sure where AISO scarpered to. Auburn picked us up a new guy, but were still a head short." He grunted. " Well, Dont let me interrupt Team Time, Ill be over yonder." he said gesturing to a different part of the bleachers.

It seemed that most people were starting to arrive for class. Carmine, Oliver, and Hildr had all seemed to show up after he started conversing with Ayers. Turning to Carmine, as she had addressed him, the young man spoke. "Yeah. I managed to convince her to give me some lessons. I can at least kind of use dust now... but just cartridges and the pre-packaged kind of stuff. I can't do anything fancy like coat my weapons in it." Elliot stated. Using dust rounds was not the most difficult thing in the world. It was more or less just like firing a slingshot or throwing a stone. You just had to know how to aim properly, which was not a problem considering he aimed the dust by punching at things. Overall, it was an easy process to learn. That, however, was not technically using dust to it full potential. Elliot was completely unaware how to harness dust to even minute amounts of its capabilities. That was the area that he was lacking in. Any fool could fire a gun, but to know how it fired or create better ways to use the fuel for it were a different story.

Oliver seemed to be as quiet as ever. The guy seemed pretty attached to Carmine since they had come back, but that was pretty understandable considering she was showing him the ropes and everything. Hildr's wave was met with a smile from Elliot. "I think I'd call it catching up more than anything else. It's not like I have interesting abilities or anything. The most I can do is try and learn how to use more than one weapon, which you guys already know how to do." Elliot pointed out smiling as he thought about how Hildr and Carmine both used various types of weapons in combat, from spears to swords and shields. The two of them even knew how to properly use dust more than just as rounds to fire from a gun. Honestly, it was kind of depressing to realize just how far behind everyone else he was. "But, if you're really worried about that kind of stuff, then you should just dive into training as well! The best cure for being under-prepared is to be over-prepared!" Elliot stated with a rather innocent smile on his face. Such simple-minded comments were usually his forte.

Turning his attention to Russ, the young man continued the conversation about training. "Well, sis told me that we were going to hit the town tonight and go to some club. She said there's some people I should meet that could help me improve my technique a little bit. I'm hoping that it's not just her dragging me around and embarrassing me though." Elliot stated, holding his head slightly as he sighed a little bit. "I don't get to hang around her all that often, especially since she's mentoring a different group of students, so it'd be kind of frustrating if she just spent the night making fun of me. I do get to ride on her motorcycle though, so that'll definitely be pretty fun." Elliot stated, looking on the bright side of things. Elliot did not want to address the comment of having a mother watching out for him. That subject was a bit too sore to even try to delve into at this moment. Ayers would not know that though, and Elliot knew it was probably best to keep it that way. He did, however, address that comment about the ecosystem. "If we go by that example you just provided, then wouldn't we be the pests in that situation and the Grimm the toads?" Elliot commented, smiling at the faunus a bit as he turned back to looking towards the professor. "Grimm leave everything but us alone. That's just a fact that's been cemented over generations of living in Remnant. But hey, maybe they do have their purpose. Those frogs were brought in to reduce the number of those pests, right? Maybe Grimm serve the same purpose..." Elliot stated rather darkly, clearly caught up in his own mind as he mulled over the purpose of Grimm in this world. "That doesn't matter to me though. I've already decided what my purpose in life is." Elliot stated, his voice suddenly turning rather chipper as he leaned back in his seat and turned towards his friends. "All I need to know is that I want to help people. Nothing else really matters." He stated, then looking up towards the ceiling.

"Dwelling on things just isn't healthy. You gotta live in the moment if you wanna keep moving forward, yeah?"

▰▱▰▱▰▱▰▱▰▱▰▱▰▱ Elliot calls it catching up, but I feel like I'm the one who's behind. A natural handicap is more like it. The shield is 'cause I can't take hits like you guys can. Auras were basically natural protectors, after all. They allowed humans and faunus to be able to take heavier hits and continue fighting. Tournaments like the Vytal Festival could be held only because of that reason. Still, I can't really disagree with him. "I support all combative endeavors! If this is something you really want to do, Elliot, I'm for it all the way!" She threw an excited fist into the air while looking over at her leader with a big grin. "I can't really agree in you being behind, though." The amount of weapons one used wasn't really what made them a good fighter. With how much focus the guy's initial training with Taiyang had been on brute strength, he definitely outclassed a lot of people as far as power went. He could probably take down several grimm with his bare hands. As his conversation with Russ continued, Carmine couldn't help but blink a few times at his final statement. Nothing else really matters... huh? A small giggle escaped her lips, making her seemingly laugh at nothing. That's how I've gotta be thinking.

"Y-yeah," Carmine dragged the word out with an embarrassed tone at Russ's mention of Opal. It had caught her off-guard. "She had to head home for personal reasons. It's a little sad, if I'm being honest." Opal had been Carmine's partner after all. While it was great Oliver could at least make them four again, the subject was somewhat sore for the young woman. The two girls had been rather close after all. "Oliver is going to be great, though! So I'm not worried at all! You guys'll snatch up your fourth member in no time!" she encouraged. As soon as that happened, fighting their team in her own sounded like a lot of fun. When Russ excused himself, Carmine gave him a slight wave with her free hand. A little ding from her skirt pocket caused her to shuffle a bit and pull out her scroll. Reading the text from Oliver, Carmine missed Hildr's good-willed statement to their new team member. Reading the bit about her jogging, a guilty expression made its way to her face before she looked up from the message.

"The amphitheater's usually used for classes like this, but it's also sometimes used for addressing the student body or events. Professor Ozpin's welcoming speech and the results of the initiation were announced in here. I guess the big space is good for gatherings," she explained, glancing between Elliot and Hildr for help in case she missed anything on the run-through. While she her excitement for Beacon was there, Carmine was still a little nervous conversing too much with others in case she messed up. Attending the school, had improved this significantly but the girl was still touchy on the subject. Switching over to his second set of questions, she raised up both of her hands with her gloved palms out. "Sorry, Oliver. As much as I would like a running partner, that time's a little... necessary for uh- reflecting." As soon as she said it, Carmine realized that reflecting wasn't quite the word she was looking for, but it'd have to do now. She already said it. "Running is Carmine's me-time," she stated plainly, scratching the back of her head. Running was the only thing that really helped the young huntress blow off steam lately and got her away from everyone else. Without it, there wasn't an easy way to work out what animosity ended up getting pent up in her. "But you know I'm happy to answer any questions you might have!"

"I'll protect everyone including you. Nothing is going to get in the way of that, not even me." ▱▰▱▰▱▰▱▰▱▰▱▰▱▰
