DelilahDelilah just smiled as Mercy took in seeing her uncle. To be honest, she knew the girl just learned about her uncle last year. That had to be a shock. Now to learn he was part of this war as well? At least neither of her brothers had shown up so that was at least something. Or Nick... Turning though, Delilah held up her hands and let Mercy begin to strike. The first hit made her wince. "Girl, when did you learn how to kick butt?" Delilah smirked, half laughing as she looked at Mercy. "I need to watch out or you are going to come kick my a** in my sleep. Lena"It's a pleasure Finn." Lena smiled back before eyeing the gear with a nod. "I'll give you a hand. From what I understand it's one of those things that looks simple enough but then somehow, you can end up all twisted up in it!" To make a point, and hopefully put the man at ease, she picked up one that was more made for the arm and tried to wrap it around her leg. In all honestly, she really wasn't sure where that one went just new it wasn't for shins. "Anyway!" Lena smiled, dropping the piece and going for what she did know which was the punch pads. Grabbing two, she slid them onto her hands and held them up so her face was between them. "Okay! Give me your best shot!" Then she made a funny face.

Peter Gallo “Awesome,” Peter said with a grin and lifted his hand to give Xanthus a thumbs up, and then turned to cup his hands over his mouth to shout, “Hey, Michael, you’re gonna help with training!” If looks could kill, he was sure he would have been KOed about now, but it wasn’t as though Michael was doing anything important. Just standing around with Caspian. Typical.
“Come on, Haven. Time to get you padded up,” he chirped with enthusiasm, moving over to the foam helmets and chest pads so he could pick them up and pull them on. “I guess I’ll have to find another person to fight. I don’t want to accidentally hurt you,” he explained matter-of-factly to his childhood… friend? Neighbor, definitely. And research partner. But it was always questionable with Haven how she felt about him. Her teeshirt clearly indicated she had no interest in dating him. Pity.
Perfectly enough, it seemed as though there was another girl who needed a partner. A pretty girl with short brown hair and amber eyes. Peter immediately flashed a grin in her direction, although he probably already looked rather ridiculous with a foam helmet shoved onto his head.
“Hello, yeah she does. You know. Since you’re both girls. And they wanted us to partner up with people our same size, right?” he said, realizing he might have said something offensive a little late and tried to correct himself.
“Peter. Peter Gallo,” he introduced. “She’s Haven,” he jabbed a thumb in Haven’s direction, and then looked around to see where Caspian had run off to, or if he was just lingering by the wall still.
“Be right back, gonna make sure these losers are gonna participate,” he said to the girls and flashed them another smile, before trying to wave Caspian down. “Hey, I promise I won’t go too hard on you.” Michael Gallo Being volunteered for something that he didn’t really even want to participate in to begin with was not what Michael had in mind. He’d only come after Peter mentioned something about it, and then when he found out Chris wouldn’t be there, but Paris would. Someone had to make sure they weren’t all going to get themselves killed by being in a room with a bunch of senshi and knights and who knew what imposters there could be.
“Knock his lights out,” Michael grumbled to Caspian, scowling as Peter tried waving his fiance over to do their little practice training. Thing.
Unfortunately, Michael had no intention of teaching people how to fight. Defend themselves, sure. But fighting was pointless if they were going to get themselves killed because they didn’t know when to run the hell away when they should.
“You good? Need a partner?” he asked reluctantly as he pushed himself away from the wall to see what the stragglers were doing. Some guy with blond hair was just standing around, not saying anything, not really doing anything. Kind of like a lot of people, but Michael could only approach one at a time. Rhiannon Beaumont Rhiannon lifted her arms up to stretch, folding one across her chest at a time as she watched Paris limber up. Fighting wasn’t really her thing, but she knew she could use more practice, and if Paris was there then she might end up getting into more trouble than it was worth.
Besides, if people looked at the two of them, other than the length of their hair and eye color, it would be difficult to tell them apart. Well, and Rhiannon was slightly taller than Paris, but still.
“Who said I was a Senshi?” she wondered, giving Paris a deadpan look. “Just because you give away your identity doesn’t mean I have to give out mine.”
She knew Paris hadn’t powered down on the moon on purpose, but it happened and people knew who she was. It wasn’t her fault that Paris couldn’t figure who Rhiannon was for herself.
Quote: Michael will help train people if anyone wants to put up with his grumpy butt. Also feel free to approach any of my three!

Quinn - Rolled a respectable 4 Quinn knew he wasn't about to get around at least a round of punches, not with this chick. Hell, she used the wall as a partner at first so what made him think that just offering to hold the bag would fly? With a smile and a nod he agreed to her terms, ten punches each and then switching. Hopefully he would be able to steer her to a new partner to practice so he could continue to make his way towards his boss. Seriously... there was no way she could be a knight could she? "Hum?" Quinn pulled his attention back to his partner from where it had wandered back towards the duo he couldn't even really see through the crowd all that well. "What? Oh, um... kinda but not really. Yeah you need to know how to take a punch without really getting hurt but the main point of this is to learn to throw a punch. An improper one can actually result in you breaking your hand which in our line of work can be deadly." The knight gave a slight shrug. The girl had a good idea with the 'taking a punch' but really, when it came to fighting avoiding getting hit was probably the best action. Not that Quinn really had any room to talk since he had gotten his a** handed to him more than once. "If you know what you're doing you're able to add quite a bit of force to a single punch without worrying that you're going to hurt yourself. Like so," He demonstrated with a solid punch to the bag she was holding. Even through the protective gear he had slipped on Quinn could feel the force of that punch and knew that someone who had no idea what they were doing had done the same, they would be in some serious pain. shyanimegrl Sorry about the delay. Work is trying, and succeeding, in killing me JessieJessie made a face at Lucas, "Yeah well I can take you any day mister," and promptly punched the bag once more, this time loosening her wrist some and completing the follow through. Her comment wasn't quite true. Lucas had strength, height, and skill behind him but she did have quite a few years of training under her belt and not just in boxing. He might win in a true, no holds bar fight, but she would make it hurt. Jessie was more use to using a weapon to even the odds as a knight, a branch or her shawl, anything really although fighting as a knight did mean she was stronger then as a civilian. Not that she was ever planning on fighting Lucas. Hell, other than the times he had surprised her she han't had a reason to raise a hand against him. She could see no situation where it would ever be necessary. Her amusement faded though as she thought of one of the reasons she was there, practicing a action that had grown rusty in disuse. She sank into her own mind, the anger and dislike for the negaverse swirling in it, and once more punched the bag, this time with as much hatred and frustration behind it as she could. She needed to get back into the feel of it all. She just had too.

Kasey [the Civilian]((rollin for number to take into account while constructin tag to post asap >u<))She watched Quinn, observing her partner in this present training exercise as a sort of drill at taking in visual cues. She noted how he scanned the vicinity and then focused on the target. The impact of his hits likely would have succeeded at pushing her off her feet if she had let slip away even a bit of the focus she had put in place to ready herself for his punches. She gave a nod in comprehending his words and then said after his round of strikes, "Your punches are powerful." Kasey scanned the vicinity briefly as well while they switched places. Two guys having an argument in a foreign language that registered in her mind as perhaps Italian gave said scan of hers added pause at that point of observation. One of them looked somewhat familiar, but she told herself not to overly dwell on possible degrees of familiarity in these circumstances when the primary goal of this gathering was training as civilians with powered identities aligned with order. And as such, risks were definitely involved where connecting powered and unpowered identities were concerned that could lead to an out of control connecting of other information if there was a lack of caution from her understanding. With her focus back on the bag as a target, she got into a left foot back sparring stance and then began her round of strikes after a quick mental reminder that experience has shown her she needed to concentrate thoroughly so as to execute forceful punches with the movement of her whole form while striking. Two lunge punches then a reverse was followed by two reverse punches and then a lunge. Next, she lifted her back foot, but then caught herself in time to refrain the kick she nearly delivered. And instead, she shifted into a right foot back sparring stance with a quick sweep of motion before continuing her punches. "Kihap," she declared with the lunge punch she threw next, having remembered that measure then in being geared toward giving her access to more air amidst endeavoring to go about combative movements swiftly. As was now usual for her, the consonant at the end fell silent. She threw a reverse immediately after that as well as finished off her round with another lunge and reverse. And upon completion of that bout of punches, she let her arms return to her sides following it. "Phew," she smiled to Quinn again when she addressed him while she transitioned back to the little ways to go for her breathing to be back to normal from her sequence of impromptu moves, "There's so much work to do." Finn [rolled 4: solid hit] Finn recognized that Lena was trying to lighten the mood, so he smiled politely. Humor wasn't really his thing, so he didn't respond in kind, and instead reached for some protective gear. He went for the piece that was most obvious to tell where it went and how to wear it: the padded helmets. He slipped on of those on, making sure it was settled securely. He did the same with one of the chest pads, since those had been designated as mandatory. Since Lena was providing targets, he took the first turn at punching. He held up his fists, trying to mimic the stance that had been demonstrated, shifting his form a little until he had it about right. Then he swung a punch at the punching bag. He managed to land a solid hit on the bag, his fist landing with a satisfactory thwap against the padded surface. He tried a couple more to make sure he got the feel of it down, then stood back and picked up another of the bags to hold up for her. "Alright, would you like to try it now?" AleranaRana gave Peter a flat look at his comment about she and Haven both being girls, despite him trying to recover from it. The implication that girls were only suited to fighting other girls was not lost on her, and she snorted at the idea. She'd show him! As he walked off, she turned towards Haven and said, "Come on, let's show him 'you punch like a girl' isn't a bad thing. Here, you can go first," she offered, holding up the punching bag and bracing for target practice.

((Sorry for the wait guys, RL decided to suckerpunch me.)) Xan was still pacing the floor, pausing to frown a bit at the sounds of the argument, but decided to keep an eye on the situation rather than step in. The heated tone was a bit of a worry, but they'd come in together, for all he knew they were just like that. "OK, does anyone still need a partner? Or any of the gear? This isn't the prom, folks, don't worry about how you look and assume most of you know about the same amount about the dance steps, we're working on that. We'll do a little more punching, assuming everyone's set and has a partner to work with, and then someone can help me demonstrate some kicks. Please feel free to let me know if you need help or want a re-do on the demonstrations, I'd rather repeat things than not."

[Terry Hyatt/Squire Erebus]He had stayed pretty quiet when Xan opened up the floor with the introduction to what they were doing here, as well as kept his hands down instead of offering up his very little knowledge of fighting. He had been learning hapkido for a little while now but it was even less then what Seung knew. Instead he had thought about how Matt had needed to skip coming with them thanks to a surprise meeting with his co-coach before Xan called them to split up into pairs or trio's to practice what was shown.
When Seung claimed a practice dummy he gave the other man a smile and a nod. "Alright. Ready when you are then." He said then gave a pleased hum when Seung landed a good hit to the dummy. Once his boyfriend was done he then moved into position himself to give it a go, waiting until Seung was ready then giving it a punch. One that turned out to look satisfyingly good to him.

Kathryn felt the impact from Keely's punch into the bag. There was no telling just how well the other woman had struck the bag but considering that she was standing upright Kat would just have to assume that Keely was okay. She had been listening in silence as Keely had mentioned her cousins being senshi and what their spheres were. How intriguing that twins would have opposite spheres of each other. Taking a deep breath and assuming that there would be no enemies here Kathryn let out the air slowly before steadying the bag once more. Her voice was quiet as she spoke. "I am Irkalla; a page of Cosmos." Thinking all the while Kathryn moved to stand in front of the bag once more in order to take another turn at striking the bag. She wanted to try and capture the feeling of what the last hit had felt like. "Do you want to do another round of punching Keely?"

Keely Turner, with Kathryn"I've only seen one other knight of cosmos. You'll have to show me what you look like powered up sometime soon - we should patrol together." She said diving right into arranging to go on a patrol together, because what the hell. Keely knew her one biggest flaw, something she'd never get over even though she knew it, she liked to dive into things without a thought about it. At least with someone with her, on a patrol, they might be able to pull her in before she did something stupid...or maybe fish her a** out of the pools deep end when she dove in and got too deep. She couldn't rely on her cousins being around all the time...plus they might get tired of it, and she might have to listen to lectures from them.
Yup, it was good to arrange this if possible. Plus she didn't know many other knights, just who she saw here and at that knights meeting. Xanthus she knew but only because she had run into him once before that knights gathering. She needed to meet more people, she really did, so why not start here.
"Yeah, as soon as you've taken your try, she said watching the other prepare to strike the bag, Bracing herself she held onto the bag and waited. "Go on. I'm ready.Seung Kim, with Terry Hyatt.Holding the bag for Terry he wasn't surprised when the other landed a good strike. He had been taking martial arts lessons, joining shortly after Seung had, so it wasn't too much of a surprise but it still brought a smile to his face.
"Shame brother could not come." Seung commented as he let the bag go, once Terry was done, and moved to switch places with him again. "Will have to come with us next time to here." It was a shame Matt wasn't able to join them this time, though it seemed like everyone was paired up.
Waiting for Terry to get back into position he finally strike out at the punching bag again, once Terry was holding it safely and securely. ((Dice roll is for Seung.))

Kathryn was preparing to strike the bag again when Keely mentioned patrolling together. She gave the girl a thoughtful glance and then nodded more to herself than anything, "I think that would be a good idea. I've not been out patrolling much as I'm always afraid that someone else will get the better of me. I have only really bested one opponent and that was because he didn't expect me to use pepper spray on him. Trust me when I say he was not as amused after I used it on him." Kathryn still worried that one day that individual would track her down and make good on his threats but for now it was why she had decided to sign up for this instructional course. It was always a bonus if she did not have to resort to fleeing every single opponent that she faced. Taking a deep breath Kathryn centered her thoughts and struck out at the bag again with her fists. She was for certain that she would not hit the bag as well as she did the first time. Although after striking the bag dead center again Kathryn had to wonder what was going on. She'd never fought before so how was it that she seemed to be striking the bag like a pro?

Keely Turner, with Kathryn"I haven't been afraid of it, I've just been busy with other things. If I have a reason to patrol I'll get to doing that more." Kathryn was one reason she would go out and patrol, to keep someone company and make a friend - to work together. Oh! She had used pepper spray on someone! That wasn't something she had thought of, she had never had a reason to. It seemed so...normal when compared to..well what she was or could be. She supposed that was why it slipped her mind. "That's great!" She said finally, laughing. "That was brilliant."
Bracing herself, and holding onto the bag, Keely waited for the other to strike the bag again. And damn did she hit it again and well too! "You're sure you've never done anything like this?" She asked, already letting go of the bag and moving to trade places with the other.
"You seem to be doing really well." And once Kathryn was in place, and she was as well, she made to strike at the bag herself - hoping she did well.

(( Sought out, and was granted, permission from Ryu to be able to do a time skip )) Kathryn - finishing upKathryn had been making interesting progress in discovering that if she concentrated hard enough and took enough time to prepare her strikes that she could possibly do a lot of damage to an attacker. The only thing was that in the heat of battle, nothing ever went according to plan. Kathryn had stuck close to Keely when the attendees were asked to partner once more to practice other defensive techniques. By the end of the session Kathryn was looking forward to just head home and relax. Her muscles were complaining just a little from overuse. It had been a long time since she had ever done anything really physical like this. Kathryn grabbed her water bottle and a spare towel and quickly wiped her face with it. Turning around to view in the rest of those that had attended the event Kathryn wondered how many this class had helped. Surely she had benefited from it. Closing her eyes and taking a deep breath the young woman took a large sip of water before running through some of the drills and then let the mental exercise cease. There would be time for that some other day. Right now she wanted to change and get home. However there was one other piece of business that she wanted to iron out. Finding Keely took a few minutes and Kathryn tapped the woman on the shoulder to gain her attention, "I'm done in. I think I'm calling this first class a possible success though. I learned some interesting things today," Kathryn paused and breathed deeply before she continued, "I don't suppose that you'd want to talk more about patrolling together?"

Keely Turner, with KathrynWhile the physical demands weren't too much for Keely, as she was used to doing all manner of physically demanding things (all in the pursuit of an adrenalin rush) this was still different and still wore on her. She had kept close to Kathryn as it seemed that they might just be destined to be friends, they were getting along really well up till this point. Moving on from punching to other things Keely had kept close and the two continued to talk, and work together, It wasn't bad, though there were breaks in conversation in order to focus on the objective. It seemed when they focused they could strike better, more accurate and harder. The problem was...in a real fight this wasn't likely to be the scenario playing out.
Sipping from her own water bottle her attention was grabbed when she felt someone tapping her shoulder. Turning she smiled and nodded. "I did as well. I think a lot of us learned today. Of course, we can discuss about patrolling together - I would like that." A lot actually. It was boring when done alone, since it wasn't every night you ran into something.
"Come on, let's get going and we can talk and walk." Nodding her head towards the doors that would lead out of the room the group had to themselves. "If you don't have a car I can give you a lift home as well."

Kathryn - with KeelyPerhaps she had found a friend through all of this. That was the greatest reward Kathryn had to think besides learning a bit of fighting skills. Although there was no way that enemies would allow the time to focus on throwing punches. That was the main difference between using punching bags and fighting real people. Maybe sparring lessons would happen once everyone was ready for it. For now this class had been worthwhile in attending. Kathryn had been internally debating her path to take in order to reach home when Keely's suggestion of a lift home sounded like music to her ears. The thought of being able to talk about patrolling too was an added bonus. Just the idea of having someone watch your back for you was an added bonus. Kathryn hadn't really been able to get a lowdown on what it was knights were for. "I'd appreciate the offer of a lift Keely. I mostly get around via public transport so it seems to take forever at times to get home." Lowering her voice as they stepped outside Kathryn was curious about something, "how long have you been a page for?"

Keely Turner, with Kathryn"You can call me Key for short, it's easier." And it was, her name being fairly short already but it was easy to shorten it that little bit more - one syllable. Key was quick and easy to get out and she rather liked it anyway, she honestly couldn't remember who had first called her that but it had stuck.
"Public transport...it's too slow for me." A lot of things were honestly too slow for her. But it was too slow and with the possibilities of delays and other things the idea of public transport bothered her. Her parents, loving and smart as they were, had decided a car was the best thing for her. They'd made sure she learned to drive and not try and run people over, as if she had a tank to drive, and that she didn't tail gate or run people off the road. That had taken time, learning not to speed and how to be safe on the road, but she'd managed it and thus her first car was a gift from her parents and was what she drove still.
At the question of how long she'd been a knight she paused, just as she was exiting the back room they had been occupying. "Umm....January this year...start of the month or there about." She answered, thoughtful and not exactly sure on the exact date.
"You?" Exiting the door and heading into the main part of the gym she made for the exit, expecting the other to be following her.
